I am new to this site.I have been using these boards for awhile now..I noticed that most of my builds, that have one click bios 2...will have a download for one click bios 2, that you can use on your desktop..I like this feature and i have used it on a few other computers I have..Works great. I download Windows 7 and all the updates....downloaded all the drivers....Download all the MSi Utilities....But one is missing...On my other boards with one click bios 2..there is a download, so you can use the bios in Windows...But there is not one on the site or on the disk..So I hunted for a post that could explain why and I don't see it...and i can not find nothing...When I downloaded Contol Center--Like my other boards..I see the little sign in the top right corner for One Click...But I don't have it downloaded....Man that was way to winded to ask a dumb question...

Second Question-----I try and make it a point to use High Freq Ram around 2133....so I read online that this board take it OC'd...Figured it can take it too...So like my otherboards..I went into Bios and looked to change it..but the highest settings, was the 1866....so I clicked it...and changed it from auto....Computer rebooted and would not post....so after I reset the bios---I tried 1600..and it did post....How do I get it to run at 2133...
I have a FX 8150, and i know it can handle the 2133....Is there a step that I am skipping...I would be happy if I just ran it at 1866...

Sorry if I am being difficult......My board...990XA-GD55....Bought from Frys a week ago has Uefi Bios....I promise...It has one Click Bios...I will take a pic and post it for you once my camera charges........Trust me when I read up on this board..It is saying that it does not come with it....I have Click Bios II...Trust me......No matter what the link say...It is on my board..I have not updated the bios or anything, because I thought this was weird that every site i see says no uefi Bios......Cpuz reads it as 990XA-GD55(MS-7640) Bios AMI V22.2...........
Trust me when i tell you- I wanted the deal frys had on the new Piledriver and board, but when we looked it up...The boards Bios was not updated to take that new cpu///////so I decided on this one, even though it did not have the uefi Bios....Than found out this board was not ready for the new cpu...so i ended up taking the bulldozer 8150......But I will shut this computer down and take a pic for you....I am not complaining.......Just wondering why????and if I do--why there was not a download for it on windows like my other boards I have built....This is the 6th MSI Board I have built in the past 3 months....
as for the Ram..I understand that the processor has a memory controler...I have a buldozer 8150....never faulted the board...I was just asking why it will not post on 1866....The board can take 1866 and under 2133 oc....But this will only run stable at 1600.....I can run 1866 but I have to tweek the settings...I hope that made sence...usually on my other boards..I can just tick the speed and the board will figure it out..I am running the same ram in this board ....z77ma-g45..and it had the setting for 2133........The issue when I tick 1866...this board will not post...I will have to just set the timing and voltage to run 2133...and that is not an issue...

Managed to get my ipod restored to factory settings (yay!) However then it was being recognised in windows but not in itunes.......to solve this I referred back to Apples excellent troubleshooting guide. Installed the lastest version of itunes.....and there we go! We have a working ipod! I am so delighted and no longer on the verge of tears! (I so thought I had completely banjaxed my brand new ipod!)

We have a oracle 10g database on Windows 2003 32 bit server. We are facing the problem of "TNS-12518: TNS:listener could not hand off client connection".
We are planning to INSTALLING 4GT,AWE (/3GB /PAE) on Windows 2003 for 8 GB RAM so that oracle can use memory more then 1.7 GB.
My Question is: whether the performance of the server will be affected after implementing this, because we have SQL server 2005 also running on same Windows server.
As we have 8GB of RAM, will it affect my SQL Server performance.

Keep in mind though, that /3GB and AWE are 2 different things.
/3GB allows a single process to address 3 GB memory on 32-bit Windows
AWE will allow even more, by using a moving address window, but AWE memory can be used only for buffer cache.
Also, TNS-12518 is usually a sign of reached process limit inside the database.
Why do you think increasing memory will solve it? Do you have ORA-04030/04031 errors?

I am using Windows XP SP 2. My mother board is ASUS F1A55-MLX Plus, Processor: AMD A4-3400 APU with Radeon HD Graphics 2.70 GHz, 2GB DDR3 DIMM 1333 MHz RAM and 500 GB SATA HDD. I am using FF version 8. However, on some websites I cannot see the whole page on my 15" CRT Samsung color monitor. @mha007. I was able to update to version 10.0.1 via Help > About Firefox. Like John99 says it was updated a couple of days ago. However, the problem of WebGL and GPU still remains. I have asked my system supplier to check the same.
@zerofire. I have always built my computer and 'am a great fan of AMD. I hate Intel's blue Death Signs. We here in India do not like anything automated on our PC other than antivirus and antimalware along with pre-scheduled running of CCleaner and Defraggler. Once in a while I run CCleaner's Registry Cleaner. Even Windows Security Alerts are turned off. Windows XP and SP2 for PC and Windows 2000 for server are the most used. Not interested in SP3 or Vista as the transcription work I do requires me to just have XP or SP2. May later add on Windows 7 via dual booting.

What stops me to insatll 16GB of DDR3 ram over limited 8GB

I have HP Pavilion g6-2380sa Notebook with max of 8GB DDR3 ram. Cpu is intel I5 3230M 3rd generation and support up to 32GB of DDR3 ram. Intel HM76 Express chipset which has nothing up to supporting the amount of ram. As i understand limit is not done by hardware but is done by UEFI (Bios). Is any chance that hp has UEFI update to support 8GB DDR3 ram modules????????????
I want answers only form people those undesrstand what im talking about.
Myself Comptia A+ Network + Certified and doing MCSA server 2102 and Security+ so waiting only for clever answers what explains the whole thing.

Does sound like a less than optimized OS install & kind of typical of most factory OEM install machines.
I would download the generic Windows 7 install & give it a nice clean install & setup as will be far more rewarding than RAM upgrade.
I run a probook on 3GB for business/work related use & it is enough & the craze for 16GB of ram is simply a waste for 99% of people.
Do a ram test & hard drive test & ifgood think about a clean install.

General Warning! [Ralink chipset + Windows 7 64bit + 4GB RAM = driver crash]

I just wanted to put a general warning out there.
There seems to be a pretty big problem with Ralink drivers right now, even ones automatically downloaded from Windows Update for at least 3 Ralink Chipset groups.
The problem:
There's some kind of messup when certain environments are the same. Windows 7 64 bit and over 3GB of RAM and a Ralink Wireless card/usb device. Once these variables are the same, most ralink wireless drivers will crash. The crash is very sneaky, it simply looks like your wireless connection has been switched to limited, however the wireless system can't and won't recover. You can try to disconnect or connect to another wireless system, but this doesn't work. You also won't be able to shut down or restart your machine, even after log off. If you do try and let the computer wait it out, eventually it will blue screen and reboot after a very long time.
This happens when the system transfers a significant amount of data or sometimes at a certain speed. For me it happened whenever I xfered a certain amount of data or once the card hit 5 MB speeds. But it varies with driver version and system. Sometimes it seemed random and just happened while surfing.
I have 2 usb devices with the ralink chipset and I've been able to reproduce the crashes everytime on several machines. The ONLY machine that does not mess up is a laptop with 2GB of RAM.
I decided to make this general warning, because I imagine some people are blaming their routers for the problem. I've read several posts on here where people have these symptoms and assume that it's their router.
The only fix/workaround right now is to remove some RAM, which of course isn't entirely convenient. I've contacted Ralink about it and heard nothing back, so I don't know if they've identified it as a problem or not yet. The other option is to get a usb device or card with another chipset brand....I purchased a usb device with the atheros chipset (the only cheap alternative to ralink, all the others are slightly more expensive) and that usb device worked PERFECTLY.
If you are using a pci card or usb device with a Ralink chipset and the computer specs I've mentioned and it actually WORKS, I'd love to hear from you right here. Remember, it has to be a Windows 7 64 bit system and 4GB or more of RAM. Make sure the system is 4GB and not 3.x because of an onboard GPU. The problem MAY happen on Vista as well, but I haven't tested it...all my systems are running 7.

The software worked on the first day, problems appeared next day. I uninstalled and deleted the exe.file, then redownloaded and reinstalled but same problem persists.
I then downloaded and installed on my PC and everything works.

No, the two RAM types are different, and the architecture has to specifically be able to interface with it. You can upgrade to 2x2GB of DDR2 memory, for a total of 4GB.

Lol, I play Karos, Darkfall, Tera-Online, Program in C/C++, Python, Perl; own a proxy supplier and am an admin of a VPS hosting company haha. I need as much RAM as I can get. But this is going to be my secondary machine next year. I'll probably just purchase 2GB sticks and settle with 4GB. 8 would be overkill. I'm usually on fedora or gentoo when I'm on here anyway.. or sometimes booting to bt4 for some quick security checking.

Those rules of thumb stem from the era when is was common to have 2 or 4 GB of memory, but with memory in the range of 12, 16 or 24 GB, I think we can forget about that rule of thumb. I would use a rule of thumb that the sum of installed memory and pagefile need not exceed 32 GB. With disk space being so cheap there is no reason to skimp on pagefile size, but with increasing amounts of installed memory, the pagefile will be used less and less. The general rule that Windows applies would result in a pagefile of 36 GB on a 24 GB system and that is overdone IMO. On a 48 GB system, Windows suggests a whopping 72 GB pagefile! That makes no sense. So, on a 48 GB system even a 4 GB pagefile would likely not be used at all, but Windows requires one to be present, otherwise it will create one for you on C, which is dynamically allocated and that is worse than a fixed, static pagefile as the first file on another disk.
Of course, if you make it a habit to switch between AE, PR, Maya and other applications a lot and work on files with large pixel dimensions, the sum total can easily be increased to 48 GB.
My suggestion is to use common sense.

Installed DDR3 Ram have question

So I'm using the Macbook Pro 2.4GHZ which I got in the very beginning of 2008. The system came stock with 2GB of 667MHZ DDR2 SDRAM... I recently purchased 2x2GB of 1066MHZ DDR3 Ram to have a total of 4GB. In the system profiler and in "about this mac" the 4GB is registering however its showing up as 2 sticks of DDR2 667MHZ ram... what is my problem?

You bought the wrong RAM. It only takes 667MHz PC2-5300 RAM just like the original RAM. Return the RAM you bought and get:

No, you cant upgrade the notebook with DDR3 RAM. The point is that these modules will not fit in the RAM slots and they have different specifications.
If you want to upgrade the RAM to 4GB you have to buy DDR2-RAM. You can buy it from every manufacture that you want but I have good experience with Kingston modules.
And you know already the requirements for 4GB? You need a 64bit OS to use it! ;)
