Windows Reactive??!! and no sound?

Well I just got my mobo and cpu back from msi and amd, and its been working fine except I have no sound... I have everything plugged in correctly, line out etc. I also have ac97 enabled in the bios and the correct drivers installed. How can I fix this???
Second, and more importantly, I got a message from windows that I need to reactive because I changed hardware compenents......my cpu is new, but that is all. Everything else is exactly the same. I try to reactive and it fails, telling me my key has already been activated..what do I do? Help????!!!!
I only have 3 days

no worries, when you activate the computer a box comes up after you tell it where you are a phone number(toll free) will come up. and you call and get a computerised message that will ask you to speak or type number letter codes in. then depending on how many times it has been loaded or how recently a person may come or may not and say something brilliant like why are you reactivating your software, ie i got a virus and it killed my computer, it was corupt,i upgraded etc.  in any event i have never had a problem.
i have reloaded win xp too many times and always have to call now, it even gives some message about changing key codes but don't do that, just call with the original key code.
but aslong as you are not reloading say 10 times a month, which triggers piracy alarms you will be fine.
on a side note ussally you have to change a few things such as hd's network card graphics , or cpu's. but changing the order of the cards will wake the activation troll aswell, fooling with the date doesn't work. but a call to microsoft will, and it works 24 hours aswell............:.frankie:

  • Have an iMac Early 2008 + Windows 7 and no sound from speaker out? SOLVED!!

    Hello everyone,
So I'm pleased to say after over a month of trying to solve this annoying problem, it's been solved! Basically, if you have an iMac, Early 2008 edition (8,1) and Windows 7 and notice that the default microsoft driver gives very low sound and the new realtek drivers only give sound through the internal speakers... then this solution is for you!
    What you'll need:
    7-zip (www.7-zip.com)
Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard Disc 1 (NOT Snow Leopard!)
Here's what you'll need to do, step by step:
    1) Uninstall the Realtek Driver (latest version currently 2.37) by going to Control Panel / Programs / Uninstall Programs.
    2) Reboot. Upon reboot, the system will automatically reinstall the default Microsoft drivers. You can check this in Device Manager (control panel / system / device manager).
    3) Insert the original Leopard Disc 1 that came with your iMac (very important, as this is the only driver I know for sure will work). Point windows explorer to the folder: D:\Boot Camp\Drivers (assuming d: is your cd-rom drive).
    4) Copy the "RealTekSetup.exe" file somewhere on your desktop. Do NOT install it!
    5) Decompress "RealTekSetup.exe" by right clicking the file and choosing "7-zip decompress". Again, you'll need to make sure you installed 7-zip from 7zip.com prior to doing this.
    6) Go to your Device Manager again, right click the sound device (which should be something like High Definition Audio) and choose "Update Device Software".
    7) Select "Browse my computer for driver software" and direct it to the folder that you extracted the drivers to.
    8) You now have sound through your EXTERNAL SPEAKERS!
This works because there is a bug that RealTek/Apple does not seem to want to fix where the newer version of the RealTek control panel detects the speaker out as line in and the line in as nothing! This forces drivers normally made for Vista or Vista64 to install on Windows 7, which work 100% great.
I promise you, if you have an Early 2008 iMac, this WILL fix your problem if you follow each step! Let me know if you have any questions!
    Brad Levicoff

If you don't have any Leopard disk then just google for "Vista_R199.exe".
This driver works nice on Early 2008 IMAC. I also tried an earlier version, Vista_R182.exe but there sometimes was a horrible background noise which made listening to music impossible.
Just download and follow the instructions above in the first post.
    Have fun.

    Hi:
You should be able to use the audio driver for W7 directly from Realtek.
    Accept the agreement.
Download and install either the 1st or 2nd driver on the list (32 or 64 bit as applicable).

My speakers are built-in to my HP vs17e 17 inch LCD Monitor and Windows 7 cannot detect my built in speakers, I have downloaded most every sound driver out there currently is there something I'm missing? Can somebody help draw sound from my built-in monitor speakers on OS Windows 7?

  • When I record an audio track, there is a waveform. When I stop recording, the waveform disappears and becomes a straight line. It also disappears from the track edit window. But the sound is there. How can I stop the waveform from disappearing?

When I record an audio track using Logic Pro X, there is a visible waveform which appears as I record. When I stop recording, the waveform disappears and becomes a straight line. It also disappears from the track edit window. But the sound is still there. How can I stop the waveform from disappearing? And can I do something to view it after it has disappeared? Anyone know the anser?

    In Logic:
    Preferences/Audio Set Recording Delay to 0 <zero>
This should always be set to zero unless a specific set of circumstances exist and you're audio drivers do not report position correctly.
On occasion, usually when importing a Logic 9 project, Logic-X randomly changes this to a negative/positive number.  It's actually a bug in Logic, as it should always display the waveform.

  • Sound not working Notebook Envy 15 TS windows 8 and windows 8.1 - problem continues

    Hello,
    My computer sound stopped again.
    I posted previously:
    http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-PC-Sound-and-Audio/Sound-not-working-Notebook-Envy-15-TS-windo...
After I`ve followed David`s  steps my computer`s sound started working again. But it didn`t last. The sound stopped working just one day after.
I did the procedure again, and it worked. But just for a few hours.
The second time I reinstalled the IDT codec I noticed at the device manager that there is no conflict at the IDT High Definition Audio CODEC.
Instead, the conflict appear in another item of the sound, video and game controllers topic: high definition audio device.
Is there another codec I should reinstall?
    Could anyone help me?

  • Quicktime 7.04, Windows Terminal servers, and no sound

    Hi all,
I suspect this is related to all those posts I've already read here about sound problems with QT 7.04...
I look after a number of Windows 2003 terminal servers in schools. They used to have QuickTime 6.52 and played sound just fine. However, when I upgraded them to 7.04, the video played but no sound. Testing is easy; I just open up the SAMPLE.MOV in the QuickTime folder! On a terminal server with 6.52, it plays video AND audio just fine. But when I upgrade that same box to 7.04, the sound is then gone!
I suppose the quick solution is to revert back to 6.52. Our concern of course was all the talk about 6.52 having various security vulnerabilities--the fix was to upgrade to 7.04.
So now I have a secure version of QuickTime, but it doesn't play audio anymore. Not much of a solution!!!
Thoughts? Am I stuck waiting for a 7.05 fix? On the terminal servers, the safe mode (wave out only) was already the default option for QT 7.04, and I've tried making various adjustments to no avail.
    Thanks for any help,
    Sir Timbit

    Sir Timbit,
We are experiencing the exact same issue at our school. Most of our classrooms are thin client PCs connecting to a Win2003 terminal server. When we decided to go thin client, we tested all multimedia applications that we could think of. With the upgrade to QT 7, we now have stuttering audio. I certainly hope that Apple is woking on a fix for this as it is negatively impacting our instructors as well as creating a perception that Quicktime is not a good multi-media application.
So, while I don't have a solution... I hope that someone at Apple will address our needs.

  • No sound using bootcamp with windows 10 and yosemite

    Hi,
I've just installed Windows 10 preview on my iMac Retina with Yosemite.  Everything works great but, I have no sound when using windows, I do have sound when on Yosemite.  I've looked and still haven't found a working solution, any help would be appreciated?
       Thank you. Jerry

No it's still there.  It's coming from my iMac speakers only on the windows side.  But if I play music through YouTube I hear the music through the headphone jack external speakers.  But that **** sound won't go away.  Did a repair lost all my sounds again.  Just did another repair and that sound came back.
I went into sounds and turned them off and the sound went away...I listened to every sound there before I turned it off and none of them sounded like the sound I was getting.  At least I can still hear my music through external speakers.  I'm totally confused.  Hopefully you'll have more for me?
        Thanks Jerry

  • Wooshing and scratching sound in Windows 7

I have an iMac I've been running windows 7 RC on for quite a while. After I installed Bootcamp drivers it worked perfectly.
So I decided to install Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit, and I started getting a lot of problems with the sound. I'm not "exactly" sure what sound card I have, but I believe it's realtek. (note what it sais in device manager depends on what driver I have installed so this cannot tell me what exactly my sound card is)
So after trying some different Realtek sound drivers and the normal windows sound drivers I thought to myself this is probably just a problem with the drivers not supporting 64 bit.
So now I installed Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit, installed all the bootcamp drivers for my iMac... They're are not all "up to date" since I get them from my Leopard OSX CD.. So the realtek drivers that comes with my bootcamp is this version:
Realtek High Definition Audio Driver R1.82 - And this does not support windows 7.
So I downloaded the R2.41 which does. (Note I tried several R versions on my 64 bit) Still same problem as before. Wooshing and scattering sound like when you are on a radio with bad reception. The higher I turned the volume up the less the whooshing is. But it's still the. And it's REALLY bad when the sound is just turned down a little.
    Here are my system specifications:
    iMac Revision 8,1 - Bought November 2008
    Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66 Ghz E8335
ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2600 XT, 256 MB ram
    2 GB RAM installed
So I hope anyone can help me solve this problem?
Here is some information I pulled out of the Windows System Information:
    Name Realtek High Definition Audio
    Manufacturer Realtek
    Status OK
    PNP Device ID HDAUDIO\FUNC01&VEN_10EC&DEV_0885&SUBSYS_106B3C00&REV1001\4&39D4505F&0&0001

    Processor Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E8335 @ 2.66GHz, 2667 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s)
    BIOS Version/Date Apple Inc. IM81.88Z.00C1.B00.0802091538, 09-02-2008

    System Directory C:\Windows\system32
    Boot Device \Device\HarddiskVolume3
Hardware Abstraction Layer Version = "6.1.7600.16385"
Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 2,00 GB

Not sure why, but curious, it makes no sense (to me) to use 64-bit Ultimate when you have 2GB RAM unless you plan to add 4GB memory.
How did you install the release? custom clean install hopefully. I'd redo and this time go with 32-bit (at least now Windows 7 comes with both, unless you took some shortcut system builder version).

  • Notify sound won't work (Windows 7 and Groupwise 8.0.3)

Has anyone else had a problem with the Notify sound not working? I've never had a problem with it before, but we recently upgraded from Windows XP to Windows 7 and I had Groupwise 8.0.3 installed with it. The sound will play when testing during setup (via the Notify icon/Options/Notify), but it will not play when an email is sent and the Notify box pops up with a new email. I'm hoping someone will be able to suggest a solution.
    Thanks!

  • Audigy ls and no sound with Windows media playe

I have an audigy ls and can play music with winamp, and dvd's with power dvd. However, when i receive audio/video clips via email, i am not able to get audio when i play the clips with windows media player 9. The video works fine. the trouble shooter tells me taht there is no hard ware installed or the device is being used by another program or the device is not functioning properly. i get error codes 0xC00DBA: Cannot play the file and Condition ID = 0x00000000. Anyone have any suggestions? Thank you, Sid

    Thanks Jeremy,
However, when i try to play MP3's that i can play on winamp, I receive the same error messages as I mentioned above. I know that the MP3's are good... I can play them on winamp without problems. And I've been able to convert them ot WAV files and burned them on CD-R's and they ahve worked fine. the problems seems to be between media player and the sound card/drivers.
