Ive recently been having problems with my ipod touch. my labtop and desktop computer has been reading my ipod as a camera everytime I plug it in, the same goes for itunes. Im currently running windows xp service pack 3 on a dell computer and have updated to the most recent version of itunes. My model number ipod is MB528LL on an 8 gig ipod touch. I'd apreciate any advice or help, thanks in advance.

Go to Photos. Saved. There may be a photo in there. If there is, you likely press the Home and Wake/Sleep keys simultaneously, which results in a screen capture. Just delete this photo (press on the photo and the option pops up). After you've done this, the camera pop-up should stop.

my ipod touch front camera ist working since i update it to IOS7 i think is a bug or something. pls try to fix it because this **** is taking me crazy

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem. It happened to some other users before iOS 7. Thus, it does not appear to be an iOS 7 problem.

Is the Camera turned on in Restrictions?  Go to Settings>General>Restrictions.

  • My iPod touch front camera extremely blurry, can't focus??

My iPod touch's camera cannot focus, it takes extremely blurry pictures. I just noticed it does take very clear close-up photos, they almost look magnified. This seems like a hardware problem, because there is nothing visibly wrong with the camera or the lens, and it takes very good close up pictures. It also has been very difficult to find other people with this same problem on the internet.

    Wow... that is not normal.
    Here's one from mine.
Do you have an Apple Store close by, as they would probably do the best job of diagnosing and fixing the problem.

  • Ipod touch (no camera) update software

I am currently ubdating all our devices to iOS5.  My daughter has an older iPod Touch (no camera) - can it upgrade to iOS5?  I was about to update it to 4.2 & reading the details, it said it was only compatable with iPod Touch 2nd Generation...  but iTunes is prompting me to upgrade...

If the photos and videos were synced to the iPod, they need to be in your iTunes library or on your computer in order for the update process to resynce them as part of the update.

  • Internet problems on my macbook pro and ipod touch with camera.

    Hi,
For the last week or so I have been experiencing internet problems with my macbook and iPod touch with camera. I'll be online and clicking different news articles and suddenly the address bar will start to open a link but will not complete it. So what I do is go up to the signal bar and click turn off airport then turn it back on and that will temporarily solve the problem. Same solution on my iPod, I turn off the wifi and turn it back on. It is very frustrating for both devices. I will include as much info as possible. I have a NetGear RangeMax wireless router model WPN824v3. I was wondering if changing the wireless settings on that would solve my problem. I have the channel on 9. Mode on b and g. Security option on WPA-PSK [TKIP] with password. I would be happy for any help with this issue. Also I hope I'm following correct posting protocol. I haven't been on this forum in a while.

    Sig,
Thanks for the advice. I finally tried a solution after doing nothing. LoL. What I did do was change the channel the router was on from 9 to 7. I think I've done something like this in the past when I had slow internet and that worked out well too. I thought that would help and so far so good. Not an interruption so far but we shall see. To the guy or girl who expressed that they had the same problem as me I would try changing the channel of your router like I did. I will monitor the situation and see if it totally solved my problem or not and keep this thread updated. Thanks people

  • Windows 7 ipod touch 1st gen conneting issues

I just got a new Lenovo G550 with windows 7, and whenever i try to connect my ipod touch 1st generation to the computer I here the connecting "ding-dung" but my ipod doesn't charge or isn't recognized by itunes.

Sounds like something came loose or exposed. From what i read, it looks like your battery is losing it's charge quickly. My advice would be to take it in to a local apple store and see if they can fix it or run a diagnostic. Unfortunately, if i had to guess i'd say there's a hardware problem since your battery is dying so fast and is having charging problems. Good luck.

  • Recognising iPod Touch as Camera, however able to connect to iTunes

I have a Vista laptop and a Windows XP desktop computer.
At first, I used my iPod with my computer as it was the main scource of music. Unofrtunately my computer broke and we lost all files and programmes. Therefore I started using my laptop. However, I still occasionaly use my computer to charge my iPod.
Recently, my laptop has been playing up and I've decided to use my computer again. So I want to get my music from my iPod onto my computer.
When I updated my iPod Touch with the new software, I downloaded an app which allowed me to save photos from it to my iPod. Since then, when I connect my iPod to my computer it comes up with the option of opening my photos; like any normal digital camera. This doesn't do it on my laptop.
I have read a lot of posts with people claiming they have the same problem, though my iPod charges and connects to iTunes unlike theirs. I can see my iPod listed as a device on the left side, but I cannot click into it (I don't know whether this is because I use my laptop as my main iTunes).
The threads I have read, I have tried everything including updating the device with the 'C:\WINDOWS\system32\DRVSTORE\usbaapl_AF109929C2381E41FEF454F3FEDAA257A9E85F92' folder. This did not work.

    Hi Leah,
Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes installed, currently 8.1.1.

If the issue persists after updating iTunes, try Reinstalling the USB driver as shown here: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538

  • 5th generation ipod touch rear camera no longer works; have tried everything; now what?

so my ipod touch 5th generation's rear camera hasnt been working for a month or two. the front camera works, but once I click on the button to switch to the rear, it freezes. i have tried resetting my settings, backing up and restoring my ipod, force closed and moved the camera app, etc. also, when i use facetime or snapchat, the rear camera option doesnt even show up. Online ive read that this is a hardware problem, so i was wondering what i could do or where i could take it to be fixed? and if i did take it in, how much would repair cost? thanks in advance.
also, there is no apple store around me within like two and a half hours. i bought this from best buy in 2013, could i take it there or can i send it in to apple?

If you restored to factory settings/new iPod via iTunes (Not via Settings>General>Reset>Erase all Content and Setting) and still have the problem that indicates a hardware problem.
Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store..
Apple Retail Store - Genius Bar
To send it to Apple see:

If covered by warranty, not abused and defective Apple will exchange it at no cost

  • My ipod touch 4g camera wont work because the shutter stays closed

My ipod touch camera shutter stays closed when i start the camera app. This has been happening for a while but if i reboot the ipod several times then the camera will work. I have rebooted it about 35 times now and the shutter still will not open.

If restoring the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod does not solve the problem the I would go make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store or call AppleCare.  If you look at the right-hand side of the page with your post you will find other posts with the your same problem.  They are under the heading More Like This.

  • IPod touch and camera connector

I have the iPod camera connector for my 5G 30GB iPod video, I have tried to connect the iPod camera connector to the iPod touch and my Nikon D50 but it says this accessory is not supports by the Touch.
Is there a way to make this work? Is it planned as an addition later? BAsically because using the iPod touch for a photo viewer would be awesome.
    Cheers, ILMV

No, the hardware is different. The new connector has hardware that facilitates movie rentals. It is possible that this interferes with the camera connector in the same way it does with a large number of other accessories that worked with previous generations of iPods with dock connectors but which do NOT work with the new iPods.
But it really doesn't matter. The "new" iPods have been out for almost six months. The camera connector was never a big seller. If it had been a money maker for Apple, they either would have release a new one or, in your theory, released a software upgrade so they could keep selling them. They haven't. The odds are that they never will. Go buy a stack of memory cards. They're cheap these days.
