Windows reconfigures iTunes every time its launched

Today I finally upgraded to iTunes 9. After about 2 hours of fooling around with it because of missing registry stuff, I download new drivers and reinstalled iTunes. It works and I can download and transfer songs. But heres the problem and yes I know its pretty minor but its kind of annoying. Whenever I click on iTunes to open it, it says please wait while windows configures iTunes then on the bottom of the box it says its gathering required info. Then it opens but on my desktop the icon moves to another part of the screen. Does anyone have a clue how I get rid of that box once and for all. I'm not computer savvy so I really don't want to go into registries, etc and mess around.

Try making a new itunes shortcut for your desktop.
First, close itunes.
Delete the current desktop shortcut icon for itunes.
Next, open Windows Explorer.
Browse to c:\program files\itunes
Right-click on itunes.exe and choose "Send to desktop (create shortcut)
Go back to your desktop and start itunes using the new shortcut. Does it still want to configure everything again?

I'm working on Windows 8.1... I think that I may have found the issue... I was saving the file in a project directory rather than the default My Captivate Projects folder...
Perhaps Captivate was struggling to find resources it needed?
It hasn't crashed for a while now, though it is struggling - I'm working with a 54 slide PPT presentation that is linked and it takes a very long time to interact.
Sometimes it says that I've removed slides, which I haven't?

None if these crash reports seem to have been send.
Do you have crash reports with a "bp-" prefix that were submitted and that show a crashing thread?
Start Firefox in <u>[[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]]</u> to check if one of the extensions (Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Extensions) or if hardware acceleration is causing the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/Tools > Add-ons > Appearance).
*Do not click the Reset button on the Safe mode start window or otherwise make changes.

You can use one of these to start Firefox in <u>Safe mode</u>:

Try updating your QuickTime to the most recent version. Does that clear up the DEP errors in iTunes?

I have multiple iPhoto libraries and when I selecting which library to view (hold down 'option' key and launch iPhoto from the dock) it automatically closes another open apps window eg. Chome, Word. 1 app closes every time I launch iPhoto this way.

If you're pushing Option at the exact moment you're clicking the Dock icon, it's supposed to do that. Wait until just after clicking it.

I-tunes not kompatibel with Windows 8. Every time I want to load my Ipod or Iphone I have to change the compability to, for instance windows vista. Otherwise Itunes refuse to recognize my Ipad/phone. Can I expect that Itunes will "fix" this problem? Carin

I have problems with I-tunes and the compability with windows 8. Every time I whant to load my Ipod/Iphone Itunes doesn´t recognize the pod/phone. If I change the compability to for instance windows vista it works ok.
I guess that I need some update of Itunes?

Why does iTunes invite me to log on every time I launch it? It never used to do this. How can I stop it ? When I open the app I usually want to just listen to the music collection I have in it, not download anything or buy from the store.
How can I stop this default ?

I have checked and it isn't.
This never used to happen, but I suspect something changed at the last iTunes update.

Get Sign In dialogue every time I launch itunes!

Suddenly I'm getting a dialogue box to sign in every time I launch iTunes. It's very annoying. Does anyone konw why or how to dimiss it. I tired looking in the iTunes preferences and my iTunes account but I can't find any way to make it remember me.

Just fixed this on my machine, the easiest way to remove this pop-up assuming you are no longer needing that software to print is the following:
Open Finder
Go > Go To Folder...
Type In: "~/Library/Application Support"
Delete All Folders Named Kodak
Open System Preferences
Go to "Security & Privacy"
Click the lock and enter your admin password
Click the Firewall Tab
Go to "Firewall Options..."
Find KodakAiO
Right-click KodakAiOBonjourAgent or equivalent (I forget the exact name)
Click "Show in Finder"
Go Back to a folder and delete the Kodak Folder there.
Remove Kodak from Firewall Options by selecting it and clicking the " - " button the base of the list.
or
Open Finder
Go > Go To Folder...
Type In: "~/Library/Printers"
Delete All Folders Named Kodak

Every time I launch iTunes it always asks for password. I have no pending downloads or app updates. Nothing. There is no downloads plist to delete, no preferences to set - Fed up wth this. Been searching for answer for months. iTunes Store help just gives the runaround.

Why is iTunes 9 asking to allow or deny incoming connections every time I launch iTunes? Is there a simple way to correct this or a known bug. I have enabled that Home Sharing feature so I think it is that probably.

Hi everyone. I did not have the same problem when I just upgraded to 10.6.1. But I started to have it when I added new iTunes genres artworks. So may be it's something related to changing the original content of the iTunes resources folder like permissions, etc. Did someone make the same change?.

I am running Itunes in Windows 7. Every time I exit, it restarts in a few seconds. If I restart my compter and forec close it, it does not restart, but If I use it at all the whole loop starts again.

I AM STILL LOOKING FOR A RESOLUTION TO MY ORIGINAL PROBLEM. CAN SOMEONE ALSO NIW TELL ME HOW TO GET RID OF THE GREEN TEXT TGAT SAYS TGAT MY QUESTION IS ANSWERED? That is a pain! It should at least ask you to confirm that your question is actually answered and you didn't hit it by mistake, like I did!

Itunes is opening a brand new itunes every time i open my itunes.....

hi guys..
my itunes has just started doing this lately and i dont know why!
when i open itunes its not opening my itunes, it opens a fresh one every time and launches the getting started tutorials too, all my settings have been reset and when i try sync my ipod it says its synced with a different itunes. I put all the settings back to the way i have them and re sync my ipod to this itunes, but soon as i exit itunes and run the program again it opens a new itunes again!
iv tried reinstalling it and got the new update but still doing it.
please, please, please someone help!

Just want to share my fix for this...... Don't know that computer you are dealing with but if sony, here it is
WOW! Thanks to all who directed me to Sony for this issue. I have downloaded the update http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2715 (which by the way would not run for the first few times stating it was an update for Vista even though I chose the Windows 7 OS and the page showed was for 7.) I have rebooted about 4 times so far and everything is still in iTunes. Oh thank you all.... BTW I had my computer in with the Sony Backstage guys for a tune up a few months ago and I explained this issue to them. They had no idea and recommended I go over to the Apple store in the Mall. I would think they should be versed on various software related issues which can create trouble for users of their products just as they are versed in the nuts and bolts of how to save this, and move that, and make backup disks, and read my email. : ) Keeping my fingers crossed.
All this technology conflict.... Can't we all just get along???

Renew subscription EVERY time I launch an app??

Hey guys, I was asked by the AdobeCare Twitter Account to post my issue in this forum, so here I am:
I recently subscribed to a Adobe CC membership and everything worked fine when I had the CS6.
Now since the CC Versions were released, I wanted to update of course. So I did.
Since then I am constantly haveing the same issue: I can not launch an app without having to do so many steps!
Here is what I have to do in order to open up any app (I have to do this EVERY time I launch an app..meaning when I open PS I do this, when I open ID I do this etc)
1) I click on the icon of the app (in this example PS)
2) I get the following "error":
(it is asking me to renew my subscription)
3) I click on "try again" and I get this message:
(it says "Thank you, your subscription for CC is now activated")
4) I click on "Continue" and get this message (again):
So I click on "Do you have another Adobe-ID?" and get to see this window:
... where I type in my Password and click on "Sign in" resulting in this:
and finally after clicking on "accept" in this:
...which basically is the same windows I get to see right at the beginning.
At this point I want to mention again that I have to do this e v e r y t i m e I start an app, for each app I have to run through all of these steps and if I close an app by accident and re-open it, I have to do this again.
I already tried to delete that file in the OOBE folder, did not work out.
Also, I am lacking all the presets in Premiere Pro (Digital DSLR etc) which makes me think, that all of my apps are running in trial mode..? At least I had this issue, when I launched Premiere as a trial in the past.
Don't get me wrong..But this is totally annoying and kills my workflow.
Any help? I would greatly appreciate it!

On the device that you don't want the apps to be downloaded on, go to Settings > iTunes & App Stores > Automatic Downloads. Once you turn that off, your problem will be fixed.
