Windows Security user name/password prompt when trying to remote access personal cloud storage device

I have 2TB WD Book Live drive setup at home and is working fine, including remote accessing by internet. However using a colleague's computer at the office recently, her computer would always prompt me for Windows Security username and password. I've tried
keying her admin user name/password and well as the router's admin/admin combinations and still doesn't allow me to access the cloud drive properly. However I have had no problem accessing the same drive remotely using other colleagues computers.
The exact message prompt as follows: Windows Security. The server 192.168.1.1 is asking for your user name and password. The server reports that it is from index.htm. WARNING: Your user name and password will be sent using basic authentication on
a connection that isn't secure.
Please help me understand the problem and its solution. Thank you.

Hi,
The IP address 192.168.1.1 is your Router server address, isn't it? I doubt there should some limition in your colleague's system. Please check it. Also you can try to disable security software for test to access your cloud.
The problem isn't your cloud server Authorization.

  • User name password prompt is not working

    Hi Experts,
    I have a screen in a BSP application in which , I have two links.
    These two links are the links to the screens of a different BSP application for which default username password is not set.
    But when I clicked the first link its prompting for the user name and password but its not happening for the second link.
    Its also vice versa.
    I checked the below link which explains about the way password details are prompt but I am not sure of how to handle this and have the prompt for username and password for both the links.

    Hi,
    this sounds a case for Single Sign On, especially if you´re calling your 3 applications from the Enterprise Portal. You have to talked to your administrators for EP and SAP, since it is a complicated task.
    Try this link for more about the user and this link for SSO.
    after entering username and password for the first time, somehow the information remains alive event when you close your BSP application and call another one. This is a very bad security case if you´re moving your applications into production.

  • Can't Connect ASDM and Console Forces User Name: & Password: Prompts

    After pulling a brand new ASA 5515 out of the box this morning, I spent countless hours scratching my head wondering why:
    1. I cannot establish an HTTPS connection to the Management port - https://192.168.1.1/admin
    2. When connecting via the console port I get prompted with a username and password sequence that I don't know
    I get an SSL Version Error message when I try to connect with any browser. although I did find a way to resolve it, it requires a console port connection which is not working either.
    This is not my typical experience with the console or ASDM port setup. What is going on? Any help from anyone would be so appreciated.

    Hmm,
    To my understanding Console connection on a fresh unit shouldnt ask for a username and it shouldnt even have an enable password (should be able to leave it blank and press enter). Or atleast that is how I remember it.
    I am not sure if the new ASA5500-X models are different.
    I think on when using ssh (or was it telnet) without username configured required you to use username pix and password cisco to log in.

  • Windows 8 user getting error 2343 when trying to uninstall iCloud

    I had to uninstall iTunes & all associated files due to a sync issue with a new device. Anyway. I uninstalled iCloud 3.1 with no problems. I then tried to uninstall v3.0.7!  I get error 2343.
    I have cleared the registry, updated all my windows services, reinstalled iTunes - everything now working great, apart from I can't reinstall iCloud.

    I am using MaxDB 7.6.00 BUILD 012-123-102-632 with JBoss through the JDBC Driver 7.6.0 on a Windows XP box.
    Sometimes, seldomly, after a reboot, I have the error :
    2008-05-28 14:52:40,093 WARN http://org.jboss.resource.connectionmanager.JBossManagedConnectionPool Throwable while attempting to get a new connection: null
    org.jboss.resource.JBossResourceException: Could not create connection; - nested throwable: (com.sap.dbtech.jdbc.exceptions.DatabaseException: -4008: Unknown user name/password combination)
    When this happens, I can still connect to the databse using both the "Database Manager" or the java based "Db Visualizer" connecting as JBOSS/JBOSS. The "JBoss" user is registered as being of the type "dba".
    If I stop the sapdb windows service and my JBoss server windows service and restart them slowly and calmly. The problem disapears.
    I suspect that, sometimes, for some reason, my JBoss server tries to connect with the database when the latter is not "completely" ready. But by "completely" I don't really know what I mean.
    Did anyone experience that kind of problem ?

    If you are having issues emailing photos directly from iPhoto, you may want to double check the email account information that is set in iPhoto. You may find the following article helpful (the section below is about setting up a new account, but it should be the same location to check existing account info):
    To set up a Photo Mail account:
    Choose iPhoto > Preferences, and then click Accounts.If you’re in full-screen view, move your pointer to the top of the screen to make the menu bar appear.

  • Prompting for User name/Password after I close the document

    Hi guys,
    I have implemented FSDB repository. When I open a KM document and close it, I am prompted with the authentication window to enter username/password. When I enter correct username/password, it doesn't accept it. However when I close this authentication prompt, I have no issues continuing my portal session.
    Please help guys.
    Note: I am on EP6.0, SP15.

    I am using SPS15 and had similar issues with MS documents.  We were receiving authentication prompts. We omitted the MS Docs from the HTTP compression and then applied this RegFix. For us it seemed like it was an update coming back to the folder where the documents are stored upon opening (for PPT's) and on open and close for DOCS.  From what I read in the MS note with the regfix - it seems like updates to the MS folder stucture for the purposes of Sharpoint collaboration stuff.

  • POP3 -Keep asking for user name & Password

     
    Hi,
    We have exchange 2003 server with Service pack 2. We have user who check their mails through   Outlook 2003, Outlook web access & some users are using POP3 to download the messages.
    Since last few weeks, we are getting the complained that when engineers are trying to configured users account in Outlook with POP3 configuration, its keep asking for user name & password. But with same user name & passwords user is able to check their mail through Outlook web access.
    In some of our site, users are able to download messages through pop3 account but this account was configured long back.
    Kindly advise.

    This is happening mainly when
    1. user changed his password through Outlook web access next time its keep poping up for password & it will not accept the new passord.
    2. if user is using  OWA & when we try to configured his mail in Outlool with POP3 .
    See if i remove exchange attributes from user's account & then delete the users from AD & Recreated with same  user name, Password & reconnected  to that user to his old mailbox, it;s work fine.

    Looking at your screen shot, it seems the database instance itself hasn't been correctly created because you lack permissions to do so. Subsequently, all your connection attempts basically fail because the database does not exists. I'm no real expert in SAP MaxDB administration on Microsoft Windows, but I read about System Error 5 once in a while earlier, have a look at  [http://www.syseva.com/2009/05/operating-system-error-5-5access-is-denied/|http://www.syseva.com/2009/05/operating-system-error-5-5access-is-denied/]. Overally, I suspect you don't have the permissions you need to have (operating system/file system -wise) in order to create the files belonging to a MaxDB instance (and/or required by the server and tools, such as the dbmsrv ... err file mentioned in the screen). Maybe you should check your system permissions? Are you administrator or member of the appropriate groups [http://maxdb.sap.com/doc/7_7/0e/218650d996419d91f6b234766eadd3/content.htm|http://maxdb.sap.com/doc/7_7/0e/218650d996419d91f6b234766eadd3/content.htm]? As pointed out, I'm no MaxDB/Windows expert, but this seems likely to be a problem as far as your screenshot is concerned.

    Hi SAPDBV Gurus,
    1. I did a full Live cache backup of system A  (LCZ)
    2. Did a restore with initialization to target. (LCR)
    3. I checked the system logs snm21 :- Unknown user name/password combination, and also in live cache logs
    4. When I tried to do a load systab with dbmcli> , I see the message :- -24907,ERR_DBAWRONG: wrong SYSDBA
    I could not create the DBADMIN user or reset the password, it gives a user_put error.
    I also found that in the source the sysdba user was DBADMIN (LCZ), and the target was SYSDBA (LCR)
