    Hello,
    In order of learning WDS in Windows Server 2012, I created a simple test environment composed of :
    A Domain controler running WS 2K12 and hosting both DHCP and WDS services. (with the option of not listening port 67 checked while installing WDS)
    A test computer, with no operating system
    I also added a Windows Server 2012 Standard WIM file and added also (located in [DVD]\sources\install.wim), boot file image (located in [DVD]\sources\boot.wim)
    But now, when i start the client, it gives the following error:
    While i don't find any reliable solution on Internet, Im looking for your help if ever, anyone faced this problem and found a solution for it or not
    Thanks in advance!

    I find it strange that client and server IP are the same. Is there any sort of DHCP relay agent running on your WDS server ?

  • Total CPU Utilization Percentage - Windows Server 2012 Operating System

    Hi All
    I had gone through all the articles and agree with posts submitted, but do we have any KPI stating - ProcessorQueueLength actually tied to the number of logical cpu's.
    As Jonathan stated in one of the forums
    ProcessorQueueLength actually needs to exceed Processor Queue Length Threshold * Number Of Processors. Where do we find this and how to validate.
    We had an issue of CPU been high almost 99% for hours, but never alerted. Any kind of pointers will be helpful, especially supporting statement like Processor Queue Length Threshold is tied up with number of logical CPU's.

    Hi
    you can create monitoring for performance counter for below counter
    Object :System
    Counter: Processor Queue Length.

  • Tuxedo Client on Windows Server 2003/2008

    I know this is a little unorthodox, and probably not supported, any pointers on possible problems with WSL and WSH would be nice though.
    I'm trying to run a .NET application that acts as a Tuxedo client on the Windows Server 2008 operating system. I've tried this with multiple versions of the Tuxedo client software, including 7, 8, 9, and 10. The application works fine on Windows XP.
    My client ULOG:
    120157.CI2009CORE!?proc.3376.2624.1: LIBWSC_CAT:1055: ERROR: Unable to establish WSL connection
    120157.CI2009CORE!?proc.3376.2624.1: LIBWSC_CAT:1027: ERROR: Unable to connect to WSH
    120157.CI2009CORE!?proc.3376.2624.1: LIBWSC_CAT:1020: ERROR: Unable to obtain authentication level
    Has anyone tried something like this before? Is there a server 2008 setting I'm missing?
    EDIT:
    Same problem on a server 2003 machine. Using the 10.0 win 2003 installation and tried it with the 10.0 winXP install.

    My original problem with the WSL seems to have been not having enough environment variables and the tux.env file set. This leads me to another problem though. I need to be able to set the WSNADDR at runtime, which I thought I was doing, but the API seems to insist on using the environment settings instead of what is set in the application.
    Example:
    TypedTPINIT tpinfo = new TypedTPINIT();
    tpinfo.flags = TypedTPINIT.TPMULTICONTEXTS;
    Utils.tuxputenv("WSNADDR=//NOTVALID");
    AppContext ctx1 = AppContext.tpinit(tpinfo);
    TypedString requestString = new TypedString(tbInputData.Text);
    TypedBuffer replyBuffer = new TypedString(0);
    ctx1.tpcall(tbServiceName.Text, requestString, ref replyBuffer, 0);
    string result = ((TypedString)replyBuffer).GetString(0, (int)replyBuffer.Size);
    ctx1.tpterm();That ought to fail completely because the WSNADDR "//NOTVALID" doesn't point anywhere. I only use an invalid WSNADDR for illustration, because even when I set WSNADDR in the code to a valid location, the API uses what is in the env file instead. Likewise I can set the env file to an invalid location, but use a good one in the code and the system will also fail.
    I really need to determine WSNADDR at runtime, how do I do that? I believe I'm following the instructions found at Link: [http://edocs.bea.com/tuxedo/tux100/dotnet/dotnet_chapter.html] and not getting the desired results.

  • System Refresh On Windows Server 2003 ( Oracle )

    Hello Gurus,
    We are having ecc5.0 production server on windows 2003 server ( oracle as an database ).
    We want to perform system copy.
    can somebody guide me the procedure on windows server.
    Server Information
    ECC - 5.0
    Window Server - 2003
    Oracle ( 9.2.0.8.0)
    I have one doubt should we use SAPinst for export/import procedure or backup restore from our production server to dev server
    regards
    Shishir

    Hi Shishir,
    I have one doubt should we use SAPinst for export/import procedure or backup restore from our production server to dev server
    DEV System is your original System never refresh DEV System with Production. It is recommended to do System refresh on QA system or any other stand alone system (Test System).
    Also see the below points.
    1. If you have large database then use the backup restore process. this will help you to reduce your downtime.
    2. You can go for the export/import process i.e R3load using SAPinst.
    For more information see the system copy guide as suggested earlier.
    Thanks,

  • Running 10G as a non local system account on Windows Server 2003

    Hi,
    I have an Oracle 10G database running on Windows Server 2003, SP2. I have created the database and it all works fine while the service is running as the default local system account. However, when I change the user that the service runs as to a different account the database starts and opens, and I can log on as SYS using a bequeath connection but I am unable to log on as any other user going through the listener. The listener responds to TNSpings, and all seems to be OK. When I switch it back to the local system user again it all works fine.
    Can anyone offer any advice or help?
    Thanks,
    Rob

    That's probably because the listener is still running as the local system account. Have you tried to change the listener service to run as the same account as the Oracle service?

  • Windows Server 2003 R2 32bit keeps unexpectedly rebooting - System Stop Failure

    Good morning all,
    I am currently having a very difficult time with my servers running Windows Server 2003 R2 32Bit SP2. I have had this server running over night last night and to come in this morning to find it has rebooted 4 times due to unexpected reboots. I have applied
    the latest hotfix to this server but nothing has worked. This is a unknown server as its my companys branded. its got a 13 slot PCI backplane with a processor card running a i7 2600K with 4GB RAM. The processor card is called a ROBO-8780. I have got 5 HDD's
    first 2 is RAID 1 which hold the OS and last 3 is RAID 5 which holds the data.
    I am getting loads of different problems aswell on different servers where on a freshly build OS of Windows Server 2003 R2 32Bit SP2, its rebooting on the Windows splash screen, can sometimes get into safe mode but very rarely.
    If you need any more information, please let me know, any help is appreciated!
    Thanks

    Hi,
    Could you offer us  the system log record information,Please do the following action then monitor again.
    1. Run Windows Update and make sure you have the latest patches and service packs installed
    2. Check so your server have the latest drivers installed from the manufacturer homepage. If not, please update your drivers, firmware and BIOS
    3. Uninstall any Antivirus.
    Hope this helps.

  • More than one SAP systems on same Windows Server 2003 - Oracle 10g

    Hello Experts,
    We have Windows Server 2003 with 32 GB RAM, 2 quadcore CPU, plenty of space. Already running with NW 700 AS Java on Oracle 10g.
    Now we need to install a seperate NW 700 AS Java central instance - so please help me in clarifying following doubts - we don't want to use MCOD.
    1. Do we need to install Oracle 10g software again or we can use the existing Oracle 10g installed files. If yes then will the Oracle Home for both the SAP instances will be same - any steps needs to be done for that.
    2. Any other steps which needs to be taken care before and after the second instance installation.
    3.SAP Note 98252 - speaks about changes in oraInst.loc before the second instance installation - Does it applicable for Windows - Oracle environment also. I am not able to find out this file.
    Listener and Tnsnames file changes mentioned in this note seems to be applicable on windows platform also.
    Pointers to related documentation would be highly appreciated.
    Thanks
    Davinder

    Hello Davinder,
    > 1. Do we need to install Oracle 10g software again or we can use the existing Oracle 10g installed files. If yes then will the Oracle Home for both the SAP instances will be same - any steps needs to be done for that
    Theoretical you can use the same ORACLE_HOME, but i would really recommend to install the database software again in a different ORACLE_HOME. It will make a lot of things easier
    > 2. Any other steps which needs to be taken care before and after the second instance installation.
    The same as by the first installation, but keep in mind of the listener port - you will need to specify a different one.
    > Does it applicable for Windows - Oracle environment also. I am not able to find out this file.
    On windows it is a registry key (for more information please take a look at metalink note #564192.1)
    C:\>reg query HKLM\SOFTWARE\ORACLE /v inst_loc

  • Unable to bind MacBook Pro (running 10.6 - Snow Leopard ) to Windows Server 2003 domain

    Hi there, I've been working on this problem for a few hours now (and a few hours last Thursday) and don't feel I'm getting anywhere, so I'm reaching out for help....
    My organisation has just purchased a new MacBook Pro, running Snow Leopard (OSX 10.6) and as a Technical Support Engineer I have been asked to configure it for an end user.
    I am currently trying to join it to our corporate domain, which is a Windows Server 2003 domain operating at the Windows Server 2003 Native domain functional level.
    The MacBook is configured to use DHCP, and has been assigned valid IP address, DNS servers etc by the DHCP server. It can resolve all names on our network, including the names of our domain controllers. When I use nslookup to resolve the name of the domain "my_domain.local" it returns a list of DC's on the domain, which would indicate to me that name resolution is working perfectly. It is using our primary DNS server, 'Ponus' to resolve these names - Ponus is also the Domain Controller in this site.
    To attempt to join the MacBook to the domain I have created a computer account for it on the domain, in the Computers container. I have gone into System/Library/Core Services and run the Directory Utility.
    In the directory Utility I have ticked Active Directory and clicked on it to edit. The 'Forest' field is greyed out and set to 'Automatic', in the 'Domain' field I have entered my_domain.local, which is the FQDN of my domain. I click Bind and when prompted enter my Domain Admin username and password (in the 'Create Computer Account in:' field it displays correctly as CN=Computers,DC=my_domain,DC=local.)
    When I click OK I get the message: Invalid domain. An invalid Domain and Forest combination was specified. You should enter a fully qualified DNS name for the domain and forest (e.g., ads.company.com).
    I have attempted writing the domain as my_domain.local, my_domain.local., MY_DOMAIN.LOCAL and MY_DOMAIN.LOCAL. but I get the same error each time. I have checked and rechecked DNS is resolving OK, and cannot see why it cannot find the Domain and Forest from the FQDN that I am entering. Even so I tried creating records in the hosts file on the MacBook to point to the main Domain Controller at this site (Ponus) but this didn't change anything.
    I have seen a few people report the same issue online but the responses tend to fizzle out before anyone gets to the bottom of it. I have seen some indication that people with an understore (_) in their domain name, or with a .local domain name may experience issues with joining Mac hosts, however these details are very vague and if true there must be a workaround.
    If anyone could help me with this I would greatly appreciate it, I'm running out of time to complete this work and have run out of things to try.
    I have an inkling that this is due to the Mac for some reason not reading the SRV records for the DCs and LDAP in DNS, or to do with the Mac looking only at one SRV record (ie. there is one for a new DC that we haven't deployed yet), not being able to reach this and giving up, but I'm clutching at straws really with my limited knowledge of the Macs process for joining the domain.
    Many many thanks,

    Hi there,
    A simple suggestion , please make sure both MacBook Pro clock and the server clock are the same meaning the hour/Min/ sec both should match. A least difference of 3 seconds is fine.
    I had faced this problem in many place and only solution was to match the time and it will bind immediatly.

    Our users are primarily operating off of windows xp clients/workstations in which they use RDP to connect to the newer member servers that are windows 2008. With their base profile in xp I am using roaming profiles via server 2003. I am looking to begin
    upgrading all of the workstations to all-in-one windows7/8 boxes partially because of cosmetic reasons(#weird) and partially because we will eventually begin using the camera options that are in the all-in-one's.
    Also..I must do this one at a time as we don't have the money to do a complete overhaul of all client workstations..If that was the case, I could just redo the network and make those members servers the DC and backup DC as well as add a virtual server
    in which everyone can access those legacy programs that are still needed...
    As you guys know windows 7/8 boxes will not work with server 2003 and roaming profiles. The reason we don't completely upgrade to 2008 r2 environment is because we are still holding on to a legacy program that requires server 2003 and these programs are
    vital to our operation.
    So..broken down even further...
    A: User is part of a 'LocalAdmins' group that makes them automatically a local admin upon any system within our domain.
    B: User  logs in to windows xp with credentials in which a tailored made per user roaming profile comes up from server 2003
    C: User then logs into one of the two terminal servers via RDP with same credentials and accesses new primary application. To access the legacy applications, they merely minimize their RDP session to get back to the windows xp session.
    Ultimately..
    1. I'd like to begin replacing option B: with windows 7/8 all-in-ones and and have the RDP saved sessions,that talk to the 2008 member servers, as well as, a few vital ie shortcuts automatically come to all users that are apart of that "LocalAdmins
    group period.
    2. Setup 1 server 2003 box that runs that legacy program and allow everyone access via a Virtual Environment..
    3. If they log into a windows xp box, or a windows 7/8 box, I want them to have access to the same icons.
    I guess this is a lot to digest, but my question is, what script could I make that would essentially allow uniformity for both my xp workstations and newly added windows 7/8 boxes? What script could I create that would,I guess reside on server 2003, that
    brings all the neccessary icons to the users that are apart of that "LocalAdmins" group despite having a windows xp, 7, or 8 workstation?

    " I don't see what the issue is because a logon script will still be managed by Group Policy and will have to be applied using GP rules.  In the end you still have to write the script."
    You basically contradicted the smug part of your rant and multiple answers with this statement!!! You just recognized that some sort of script would be necessary if I chose to use it via group policy.
    But according to you..
    "It is not and has never been done via a script."
    Clearly it has a section per user for a "profile path" and a "logon SCRIPT". Which warrants my creation of this post since I have currentely implemented
    roaming profiles. That is how I am manipulating what users can have on their desktop because of course, we have different users that have different needs. But out of all the users, there are programs that need to be laced and seen upon immediate login.I
    will consult other people as this is only preliminary planning but about half of your statements are completely unwarranted and UNNECESSARY!
    This statement also proves your additional inaccuracies...
    "All of the profile things are handled by Windows and have nothing to do with scripts.  You define all of that in Group Policy."
    That's just silly talk. I told you in my initial break down of my scenario in an entirety that I am using "tailored made per user roaming profiles" to control desktop environments not group policies in this case. But you just made an absolute statement in
    saying "You define all of that in Group policy" which is completely wrong...
    Do me a favor, please don't respond to this post anymore. I'd love to see if any other partner, staff or whatever mind responding. Thank you for your help anyway. I will use what is useful in your post and discard the rest.
    Thanks

  • Out of memory using Windows Server 2003 and Oracle 9.2.0.3

    Hi,
    I just installed both Windows Server 2003 and Oracle 9.2.0.3. The server I am using has 4 gigabytes of memory installed, and windows shows that to be the actual physical memory on the server. The paging file is 8 gigabytes for a total of 12 gigabytes of virtual memory.
    Using the Oracle Database Configuration Assistant, I create a new database using default values. After verifying the installation worked OK (database started, queries ran), I attempted to change some of the memory parameters and was able to start the database using about 1.4 gigabytes of total SGA, with the O/S using about .3 gigabytes for a total of 1.7 gigabytes. I then attempted to change the buffer cache + 1 gigabyte for a total of 2 gigabytes. Now the database will not start and I get an out of memory error ora-27102 with an additional O/S memory error of "O/S Error: (OS 8) Not enough storage is available to process this command".
    So, I have two problems:
    1) With 4 gigabytes installed, and the O/S using only about 300 megabytes, why isn't Oracle able to take advantage of the memory on this machine past the 1.7 gigabytes (as reported by Windows task manager).
    2) How do I change the spfile memory parameters so the database will start using spfile? I can start the database pointing to a pfile with lesser memory parameters, but I don't know how to effect change on the spfile, since I cannot start with the spfile.
    Both these technologies (9.2.0.3 and Server 2003) are new to me, so any insight would be appreciated!
    HERE ARE THE SPFILE PARAMETERS THAT WORKED:
    SGA (M)
    Shared Pool=104

    Large Pool=0
    Java Pool=64
    Total SGA=1128

    Thank you.

    CREATE SPFILE
    Purpose
    Use the CREATE SPFILE statement to create a server parameter file from a client-side initialization parameter file. Server parameter files are binary files that exist only on the server and are called from client locations to start up the database.
    Server parameter files let you make persistent changes to individual parameters. When you use a server parameter file, you can specify in an ALTER SYSTEM SET parameter statement that the new parameter value should be persistent. This means that the new value applies not only in the current instance, but also to any instances that are started up subsequently. Traditional client-side parameter files do not let you make persistent changes to parameter values. Because they are located on the server, these files allow for automatic database tuning by Oracle and for backup by Recovery Manager (RMAN).
    To use a server parameter file when starting up the database, you must create it from a traditional text initialization parameter file using the CREATE SPFILE statement.
    All instances in an Real Application Clusters environment must use the same server parameter file. However, when otherwise permitted, individual instances can have different settings of the same parameter within this one file. Instance-specific parameter definitions are specified as SID.parameter = value, where SID is the instance identifier.
    The method of starting up the database with a server parameter file depends on whether you create a default or nondefault server parameter file. Please refer to "Creating a Server Parameter File: Examples" for examples of how to use server parameter files.

    Prerequisites
    You must have the SYSDBA or the SYSOPER system privilege to execute this statement. You can execute this statement before or after instance startup. However, if you have already started an instance using spfile_name, you cannot specify the same spfile_name in this statement.
    Syntax
    create_spfile::=
    Text description of create_spfile
    Semantics
    spfile_name
    This clause lets you specify a name for the server parameter file you are creating.
    If you do not specify spfile_name, Oracle uses the platform-specific default server parameter filename. If spfile_name already exists on the server, this statement will overwrite it. When using a default server parameter file, you start up the database without referring to the file by name.
    If you do specify spfile_name, you are creating a nondefault server parameter file. In this case, to start up the database, you must first create a single-line traditional parameter file that points to the server parameter file, and then name the single-line file in your STARTUP command.
    See Also:
    "Creating a Server Parameter File: Examples" for information on starting up the database with default and nondefault server parameter files
    Oracle9i Database Administrator's Guide for Windows (or other appropriate operating system specific documentation) for default parameter file names
    pfile_name
    Specify the traditional initialization parameter file from which you want to create a server parameter file.
    If you specify pfile_name, the parameter file must reside on the server. If it does not reside in the default directory for parameter files on your operating system, you must specify the full path.
    If you do not specify pfile_name, Oracle looks in the default directory for parameter files on your operating system for the default parameter filename, and uses that file. If that file does not exist in the expected directory, Oracle returns an error.
    Note:
    In a Real Application Clusters environment, you must first combine all instance parameter files into one file before specifying it in this statement to create a server parameter file. For information on accomplishing this step, see Oracle9i Real Application Clusters Setup and Configuration.
    Examples
    Creating a Server Parameter File: Examples
    The following example creates a default server parameter file from a client initialization parameter file named t_init1.ora:
    CREATE SPFILE
    FROM PFILE = '$ORACLE_HOME/work/t_init1.ora';
    Note:
    Typically you will need to specify the full path and filename for parameter files on your operating system. Please refer to your Oracle operating system documentation for path information.
    When you create a default server parameter file, you subsequently start up the database using that server parameter file by using the SQL*Plus command STARTUP without the PFILE parameter, as follows:
    STARTUP
    The following example creates a nondefault server parameter file s_params.ora from a client initialization file named t_init1.ora:
    CREATE SPFILE = 's_params.ora'
    FROM PFILE = '$ORACLE_HOME/work/t_init1.ora';
    When you create a nondefault server parameter file, you subsequently start up the database by first creating a traditional parameter file containing the following single line:
    spfile = 's_params.ora'
    The name of this parameter file must comply with the naming conventions of your operating system. You then use the single-line parameter file in the STARTUP command. The following example shows how to start up the database, assuming that the single-line parameter file is named new_param.ora:
    STARTUP PFILE=new_param.ora

  • Windows Server 2003 and CS3

    I'm looking to purchase either Photoshop CS3 or the Creative Suite CS3, but the only operating system I have available is an in-house development server running Windows Server 2003.
    I used to run Photoshop 5.5 on Windows Server 2003 without an issue, I wanted to make sure version CS3 will also run on this OS. I know the system requirements say otherwise, but as I said I had it installed on a server OS before with out any issues.
    Thanks.

    Search here and the Creative Suite forum for Windows 2003. It's been
    discussed.
    You'll have to hack the installer and then you'll be in completely
    unsupported territory.
