Issue: High Memory Utilization in Below Scenario. Pl. See the below configuration of Win 12 Server
Pl. see for committed memory bytes . m little bit confused that about committed memory
OS: Windows Server 2012
Memory: Total 24 GB Free:1.3 GB Committed:27.6 GB
App Configure: Three Hyper V Instances Configure For Lync Server 2013
Pls provide me solution on this issue

It show what process in LMS is eating you RAM / Hogging the CPU.
I don't think resources are used very effectivly in LMS
I did have the impression that some virtual machines running LMS 3.2 actually performed better than real machines, as if the VMware saw it load all these java virtual machines and that it was 45 times the same thing only being used for a few % and therefore could be swapped to disk, leaving the resources to what was actually working in LMS.
What worries me more than the resources used is the gui per.formance.

High memory utilization

Hi,
We have a system(32GB RAM and 2 TB hard disk, Windows7,SQL SERVER 2008R2 enterprise 64 bit). Looks like whenever i run some query(even query result 50 records) on the database, the Memory utilization is very high(30 GB) in task manager. How can i control this
over usage? The memory setting is default in server properties(min 0 and max 2147483647).

High Memory utilization for a single project

Hi All,
I am facing one issue with one of the projects configured. We have endeca installed on a Windows server and there are multiple projects setup. I am observing that dgraph.exe for a single project is taking as much as 80% of memory on server. I do see that the project is receiving around 300 to 350 requests every day which is slightly higher than other projects. I am required to manually restart the project before business starts and that releases the memory. I am not able to identify whats causing this issue. Any ideas on how to troubleshoot the issue?

The number of threads will not have any impact on memory usage, however, I agree with Saleh that this doesn't make any sense.
I would suggest the following:
Grab the stats page XML (http://[your server name]:[your port]/admin?op=stats).
Restart the dgraph and see how much memory is taken up on the initial load. Then, assuming the memory consumption is reasonable, issue a couple N=0, N=something queries to the index and track what's happening with how much memory is being taken up.
If you're still at a normal level, it seems like there must be some process or "bad query" that causes the memory to spike. A possible culprit might be found on the "most expensive queries" section of the stats page but it's possible it won't be there as that only tracks queries that have completed, not queries that are still in process or taking forever.
The only other explanation I can think of is a rogue "bulk export" query where a user is trying to (for example) export the entire index to excel or something like that. Does your application offer that functionality?

High memory utilization after few days - ciscoworks LMS 4.0.1

Hello,
I have the problem that our ciscoworks server gets out of memory after few days. The memory utilization is always getting higher an higher (above 95%). Sometimes it is only after 3 days and sometimes it is after 1 week. So it happens not regulary. Has anyone an idea what could be the problem? I have made an screenshot from the services which use a lot of memory. And at this time the memory utilization is getting higher and higher again....I think there is a problem with tomcat or dbsrv10.exe, there are also a lot of cwjava.exe running.

I have the same problem. First time I've tried to upgrade memory from 8gb to 16gb but I am still experiencing same issues (Memory is running on 98%). I'm not sure exactly what process it is causing this issue, because when I've checked all proccesses from all users running on this server and count them there is no 15 gb at all. My guess is the same for tomcat server which is responsible for RME collector, or correct me if I'm wrong.
Do you have any idea what can cause this problem.
I've tried to upgrade then to Cisco works Prime lan management 4.1, but server went with same issues.

ASA High Memory utilization and random lockouts

We have 2 ASA 5520's running Active/Standby with the cable based failover. At random times perhaps once our twice a week we will get calls that RA VPN users cannot connect, RA users connect with the Cisco VPN client. Also most often during this time we cannot telnet into the "primary" ASA, but we can "usually" access it via the ASDM where we will see that the memory utilization is in the upper 90% range and perhaps as high as 98% consistently. To help temporarily solve the issue we have to telnet to the "secondary" ASA which we can usually access via telnet and perform a "failover active" which will failover the primary and make the secondary become the active and vice versus. Has anyone seen this issue. I have opened up several TAC cases and have not had much help. Thanks in advance!

it is important to know what version are running your ASAs [ie 7.0(4)] and to collect some log, you can set it to error level (logging buffered errors), with the logging standby, so all of the message should be replicated on the standby unit.

Windows 2008 R2 - High memory on lsass.exe

Windows 2008 R2 fully patched VM with 8GB of RAM and 4 vCPUs. Machine is a DC and file server.
Had an issue that just came up where lsass.exe will start sucking up memory. It gets to the point where the machine is almost not usable. The only way to get everything back in check is to reboot.
I just rebooted a little bit ago and I'm watching lsass.exe slowly start sucking up more and more memory. I'm not sure how to tell where the memory is being used and then how to remedy it. This machine has run fine as a DC/file/print server for 3 years.
Something has happened in the last week that is making it mad.

Firstly, have you typed an invalid IPv6 subnet mask in the Active Directory Sites and Services snap-in on that Windows Server 2008 R2 DC? If yes, please refer to the KB below:

If not, I would recommend you perform a virus scan on your DC and run the Performance Monitor's Active Directory Data Collector Set on that domain controller while the problem is occurring to find the root reason. To run the Active Directory Data Collector
follow these steps:
1.Run ”Perfmon.msc”and then press enter.
2.Expand Data Collector Sets > System.
3.Right-click on Active Directory Diagnostics and then click
Start in the menu which appears.
Once the report has compiled (The default setting will gather data for the report for 300 seconds, after which it will take an additional period to compile the report.), view reports which will show details of potential problems which need to be investigated
as possible causes.

Most of PC level computer not certificated by Windows, so it can’t supported by Microsoft. But personal experience is you can run the server system on it, you can try to install
the Server 2012r2 then install all the role in the Hyper-V guest vm, it will give you more flexible.
And consider there often have more heterogenous operating systems in the home device, you can consider setup the Windows System Center Configuration Manager it have the heterogenous
system manage ability.

Ia there a good alternative to Microsoft windows server for enterprise?

Hi Guys, I work at a small (22 FTE's) public(not-for-profit) art galley. We are currently a mixed pc/mac office with various departments, all with different needs. Communications/Design are Mac. 2/3rds of the Curatorial is Mac, 1/3rd PC. Public Programs is mostly Mac with one PC. The accounting, giftshop, and Databases are all PC. The giftshop and accounting use ACCPAC. The collections (artwork collection that is) department uses FileMaker Pro backend, with a frontend called "Virtual Collections". We very much dislike Virtual Collections BTW. Our other database, which handles membership, and financial donation tracking, is @EASE. Because we are not-for-profit our overall budget for IT is relatively small, and the system is the way it is because of years of neglect, and stop-gap purchases. We use a Microsoft Server with Exchange. We are in the process of building a new gallery, and with it the ability to start fresh on a number of levels. One of which is our Server. Personally I'd like to see us move away from the Microsoft server ecosystem. It is cumbersome, requiring lots of IT support (which we contract out by the way, and costs us a tidy little sum yearly on top of MS Server licensing etc.) Our Management team is considering going to an all PC environment with the (I feel mistaken) attitude that "if all computers are the same flavour, the whole system will run more smoothly and thus be less expensive to manage". As on of the Mac users within this system, who knows a little about, but is no expert in, computers and networks in general, I'd like to be able to open a dialogue with management at this crucial juncture on alternatives to the system we now use. I had run across a website some time ago that outlined the "real cost of owning and operating Microsoft Servers" but can not seem to locate it anymore. It basically broke down all costs of running a Microsoft environment, and concluded that, over time, it is not very cost efficient, especially for small enterprise. Has anybody run across any really good server alternatives to Microsoft Exchange, and Microsoft Windows Server (I think ours is 2008)? We are a relatively small city, and the IT/Networking companies here all seem to push Microsoft as a be-all-end-all. I'm not so sure. like both 10.x.x.x and subnet 255.0.0.0 or something like that?

I am trying to setup a two node cluster Oracle Rac 10g on IBM Blade Center H with HS21 XM blades.
My problem is trying to setup HA and not have a single point of failure and in order to do this, it almost seems as if i need 4 network interfaces in the HS21 blade so i can team 2 together.
Did you guys purchase any addition expansion cards for these servers for that reason?
My understanding is that each HS21 have by default 2 nics, and they each go to one of the two internal cisco switches (within the entire bladecenter).
So if for instance we have one of the cisco switch die, like the one that has the public interface plugged into it, then we could not longer access the rac and that would be a single point of failure. So unless we can have 4 interfaces on the blade, and have them 2 teamed with each nic going to one of the cisco internal switches. So if any one cisco switch die's it just uses the other one.
Any thoughts, suggestions?

HTTP Dynamic Streaming only works with Apache web server. The basic Apache web server is already bundled along with FMS from the 4.0 versions where the HTTP Dynamic streaming modules are loaded by default. Alternatively, any external apache installation also can be used, by copying the required module files and changing the configuration apache files to enable them..

Deploying Windows Server for a class Project

I have downloaded Windows Server 2008 with no difficulty, however when I go to install it I run into issues. It loads into either one of two locations, 'C' Drive, disc 0 which it says is not compatible, GTP format or Disc 4 on my external HD. It
will not load from this second location because it says program is not bootable from a USB port. Is there a work-a-round?

Upgrading AD Server for Lync 2013

I have now a Lync 2013 infrastructure deployed on an Active Directory infrastructure based on Windows Server 2003 including the servers, the domain functional level and forest functional level. We are planning to upgrade to Windows Server 2012.
My questions are:
1/ What are the impacts to my Lync 2013 infrastructure?
2/ Is there any documentation addressing the changes on the Lync Infrastructure in relation to AD upgrade?
3/ Anyone could share his/her experience?

Hi Albert,
Lync 2013 supports a domain functional level of Windows Server 2012 R2, Windows Server 2012, Windows Server 2008 R2, Windows Server 2008, or at least Windows Server 2003.
Hence when you introduce a Win2012 DC into the environment, it doesn't make any difference till you have the domain\forest Func Levels at Windows Server 2003.
Windows Server 2003 domain and functional levels of Active Directory are depreciated(soon to be removed) in Windows Server 2012 DC. So if you plan to remove the Windows 2003 and raise the FFL\DFL then you need to consider the questions you have
here.
What Happens Next?
Another common question: what impact does changing the Domain or Forest Functional Level have on enterprise applications like Exchange or Lync, or on third party applications? First, new features that rely on the Functional Level are generally limited to
Active Directory itself. Regardless, changing the Domain or Forest Functional Level should have no impact on an application that depends on Active Directory.
An application like Exchange uses Active Directory to store its objects, or to perform various operations, none of that functionality should be affected if the Domain or Forest Functional Mode changes. In fact, if your applications are also written to take
advantage of new features introduced in Active Directory, you may find that the capabilities of your applications increase when the Level changes.
The answer to the question about the impact of changing the Domain or Forest Functional Level is there should be no impact.
Lync 2013 FFL\DFL requirement
doesn't specify any additional features upon raising the levels beyond Win2003.
Just make sure you don't break the existing DC and have enough redundancy.
Supported in-place upgrade paths
Domain controllers that run 64-bit versions of Windows Server 2008 or Windows Server 2008 R2 can be upgraded to Windows Server 2012. You cannot upgrade domain controllers that run Windows Server 2003 or 32-bit versions of Windows Server 2008. To replace
them, install domain controllers that run a later version of Windows Server in the domain, and then remove the domain controllers that Windows Server 2003.

If there is no iDVD on Your Mac (and it's not on newer Macs as Apple discarded it) then You need a program that can do this.
Your Mac can burn CDs and DVDs - BUT DVD as Data-DVDs not as Video-DVDs - they need a program to be encoded and STRUCTURED as such.
• iDVD is part of the boxed version of iLife'11 and can only be bought outside Apple as on Amazon and e-bay
• DVD Studio pro - Part of FinalCut Studio Pro bundle - this to has expired and can only be bought second handed. (High price and tough learning Curve - but best ever done.)
• Roxio Toast™ - Not as elegant as iDVD - but has many other positive additions (I like it as 10-Pro incl BD-component) (now version 11)
• Burn - a free alternative I know of on internet. Very simple - Just for doing a plain Video-DVD
