and Oracle database.
My OS : Microsoft windows XP  Proffessional version 5.1 service pack 3 (32 bit)
RAM Size : 2 GB
Could anyone give me the hardware and software requirements for installations of solution manager 7.0 and ERP 6.0. on windows.
which windows server edition/version  supports installation of SOL MAN 7.0 and ERP 6.0 ?
thanks.

> Does Microsoft windows2008 server edition / windows 7/vista  supports installation of ERP 6.0  .
Did you have a look at the PAM as suggest at http://service.sap.com/pam?
Vista/Windows 7 are client operating systems and are not supported for ERP 6.0 or Solution Manager or any other backend.

    Thanks all for your replys.
As I know there is no Crystal Reports 2008 runtimes for 64 bit machines, there are only 32 bit runtimes for that product. So,I need to know when will be the 64 bit runtimes will be released or will be available.
Also, for the CR bundled with VS 2008 (10.5), there are 64 bit runtimes which you could find on your development machine under -
    ' C:\Program Files\Microsoft SDKs\Windows\v6.0A\Bootstrapper\Packages\CrystalReports10_5\CRRedist2008_x64.msi '
When will be 64 bit runtimes for CR 08 will be available?

  • WSUS server role on Windows Server 2012 R2 - Supported SQL Configurations

    According to
this page the supported SQL configurations for WSUS on Windows Server 2012/2012 R2 stop at SQL Server 2012 SP1, but there is no mention of SQL Server 2012 SP2 being supported.
However, both the SCCM 2012 R2
supported configuration page and this announcement state that SQL Server 2012 SP2 is fully supported on SCCM 2012 R2 with no
known limitations. Bearing in mind a big part of SCCM is to perform software updates which in turn requires WSUS to be installed...
... Is SQL Server 2012 SP2 supported on WSUS 4.0 (aka WSUS server role on Windows Server 2012 R2)?

The only thing that mattered for the versions mentioned on TechNet probably is the date the articles are published. I'm no Microsoft employee so I cannot guarantee you support even if I trace back some Microsoft article that explains the lifecycle of MS
    products and support.
Fact is that MDT uses a database, SQL is a database server. SQL server has all kinds of compatibility modes to support databases dating multiple versions back.
Another fact is that a Service pack is an
update to the software (be it a large one) Microsoft will not break compatibility with their own products (and may others that relay on SQL server) by an update.
And a last fact is that in general, updates are required when you need support. After all, updates fix issues, and engineers generally don't like ghosthunting a bug that has already been patched.

The amount of information you provide is surprisingly sparse, assuming you want assistance.
So - if you want help, you might wnat to provide some information:
    - the operating system (including edition, and major service pack if WIndows, or distro && major/minor release and kernel if *nix)
    - the URL froim which you downloaded
    - the country yuo are in (since ORacle could redirect to several sitres based on region)
    - the command or executable, including directory path, you run or double-click on
    - the 'exact' error message, or if a generic one like "Unknown", perhaps a screen shot to convince us that it is actually such a generic message
It's just a suggestion, but answering in such detail actually tells us you are serious about resolving the issue - you put in effort, and that may convince us to return some effort.

  • Windows server 2008 R2 support

i've read the FAQ regarding windows 2003 R2 support which asks us to verify with PAM on the products which is supported. But I cant seem to find R2 being supported yet on the common sap application like ecc 6.0 and nw 7.0, which product is actually supported on r2 as of today ?

    >
    Bob Kaila wrote:
    > It seems like SAP is a little slow updating there PAM site, however Microsoft has updated there's, please take a look at the below.  Also there is no differences from a Kernel perspective as this update is simply a service pack update and that's the way MSFT and SAP are looking at it.  I have a SolMan PRD box running on MSFT 2008 R2 technologies for both the OS and DB.  .
I'm sorry but I have to disagree. The kernel is different - that's what's written in the note (it is not the same as with Windows 2003 and Windows 2003 R2):
Windows 2008 - Kernel 6.0 (same as Vista)
    Windows 2008 R2 - Kernel 6.1 (same as Windows 7)
From a security perspective there are changes as well as certain kernel level functions.
That your solution manager works is due to the fact, that the kernel itself had support for the R2 release added with a certain kernel patchlevel, if you check in SM51 you see "Windows 6.1" - in older versions of the kernel, most likely patch 76 and below, this is not the case and hence the system will dump with SICK after being started.
There are also changes in encryption mechanisms (comes into place when using SSO and Java applications using that functionality). Additionally there are differences with cluster setups and other small things.
I'd be careful when deploying an operating system that may technically work on the first look, there are culprits and SAP may reject support because they don't (yet) officially support it.

I have planned to install ehp5 in this ERP
    thanks for your help

    Hi,
the problem is not the kernel DVD but the version of the installation tool you are using (the error is fired by the prerequisit checker, which is part of the kernel).
SAPInst installation master from the traditionional Installation Master DVD is no longer supported.
Please use the Software Provisioning Manager - available in the download area for SAP ERP 6.0 on SAP SMP, Installation and Upgrades.
The procedure should be described in detail in SAP ERP 6.0 SUPPORT RELEASE 3 ON SAP NETWEAVER 7.0 SUPPORT RELEASE 3 guide available in the "Installation and Upgrade Guides" section on SAP SMP.

  • Running oracle database xe (express edition) on windows server 2008 r2

Is it supported to run Oracle Database XE on Windows Server 2008 R2?
Database XE is only supported as 32-bit. Current builds of Windows Server 2008 only come in x64 configurations.
Here are the Database XE system requirements for windows:
The docs say that 32-bit windows is required, yet they also say that windows server 2008 is supported.
Windows Server 2008 R2 came out in 2009, and in R2 they eliminated 32-bit OS (though there is the WOW64 subsystem to run 32-bit programs within the 64-bit OS).
    See:
    - [Wikipedia page about windows server 2008 with info on R2|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Windows_Server_2008#Windows_Server_2008_R2]
    - [Wikipedia page on "windows 32-bit on windows 64-bit"|http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WOW64]
    Thanks,
    Matt

    Hello Matt,
Is it supported to run Oracle Database XE on Windows Server 2008 R2?No.
The docs say that 32-bit windows is required, yet they also say that windows server 2008 is supported. So this means that only 32bit versions of 2008 will be supported.
Windows Server 2008 R2 came out in 2009, and in R2 they eliminated 32-bit OS (though there is the WOW64 subsystem to run 32-bit programs within the 64-bit OS).Which is probably why 2008 R2 is not supported.
    You can either take the VM approach and install a 32 bit Windows or 64 bit Linux host, or you can queue in the list of persons waiting for a 64 bit Windows release. See the following thread for details (and the queue) for the latter: {thread:id=2277728}

Windows update error 0x80070020 can occur if a program is interfering with the automatic update process.
Restart your computer or restart your computer in safe mode with network, then try to install the updates. Detailed information you may reference the link below(this applies also to Windows Server 2012 ):

  • My 10.9.0.1 internal mac was ruined after the installation of Windows Server 2012 on boot camp

Hi Everyone. I've been trying to install Windows Server 2012 on my boot camp. Well, soon after the 2012 was installed, my mac os 10.9.0.1 was ruined. When I pressed on the option key while the imac was booting, I can see the icon of "10.9.0.1 recovery". But after I chose it, the apple tried very hard to boot it up with a progress bar below the apple icon. The computer shut down itself after the progress bar reached the end. I've tried boot it up with the installation CD and tried to repair the Macintosh HD in Disk Uitilites but no use. It was said the hard drive cannot be repaired and better be reformat. Currently I can only boot up my mac from my SuperDuper external clone drive. Anyone could give me wise advices to fix this problem please?

The "wise advices" I can offer are:
Read the Boot Camp documentation before trying to reinstall Windows Server. Windows Server is not supported by Boot Camp
Erase and reformat your hard drive. Reinstall OSx then restore your data from your backup.
Use a virtual machine like Parallels, Fusion, or VirtualBox to install Windows Server

  • Error in installing CE 7.1 SP3 on Windows Server / XP

I am trying to install CE 7.1 on Windows Server 2003 (version 5.2), SP1 but it fails the pre-requisite analysis giving the message:
Windows XP SP2 or higher and Windows Vista are the supported operating systems. The current version is: Version 5.2,
Service pack 1, Product type -Server.
Now if I try to install CE 7.1 in Windows XP SP2, I am not able to install the Enterprise Edition of SQL 2005 software because the Windows XP does not allow that. Only Professional edition of SQL 2005 is allowed in Windows XP SP2.
But the CE 7.1 package downloaded from SAP Marketplace contains the Enterprise edition of SQL only.
So I am not clear on which operating system should CE 7.1 be installed. If Windows XP is the answer, then wiil the Professional edition of SQL 2005 work fine for the CE 7.1 software?
    Please give your inputs.

    Hi,
There is two flavors of CE, server and developer workplace.
You can easily install a developer workplace on XP with maxDB.
You can also install the developer workplace on WS 2003 with SqlServer, the pre-requisite analysis message is not blocking and you can continue your installation. Your CE will work perfectly well.
The last possibility is to install the Server version of CE on WS 2003. You will not have the pre-requisite analysis message.

  • In Place Upgrade WSUS windows 2008 R2 into windows server 2012

    Hi Team,
i had question. I have windows server 2008 R2 and installed WSUS role at that server.
Can I do inplace upgrade into windows server 2012 std edition?
is there any impact into wsus services?
    thanks

If it is not a DC, upgrade should be easy. And there shouldn’t be any problems.
The question was about upgrading a WSUS server, and regardless of whether it's a DC or not, it most emphatically will not be problem free. In fact, it's flat out not possible! On WS2012 the upgrade will be blocked if WSUS v3 is present,
and on WS2012R2 it will corrupt the WSUS installation beyond repair requiring a reinstallation of the operating system.
    Please review the
WSUS v6 documentation regarding upgrade requirements.
    Warning
Upgrade from any version of Windows Server that supports WSUS 3.2 to Windows Server® 2012 R2 requires that you first uninstall WSUS 3.2.
In Windows Server 2012, upgrading from any version of Windows Server with WSUS 3.2 installed is blocked during the installation process if WSUS 3.2 is detected, and you are prompted to first uninstall Windows Server Update Services prior to upgrading Windows
    Server 2012.
However, because of changes in Windows Server 2012 R2, when upgrading from any version of Windows Server and WSUS 3.2 to Windows Server 2012 R2, the installation is not blocked. Failure to uninstall WSUS 3.2 prior to performing a Windows Server 2012 R2 upgrade
will cause the post installation tasks for WSUS in Windows Server 2012 R2 to fail. In this case, the only known corrective measure is to format the hard drive and reinstall Windows Server 2012 R2.

    Hi,
Check if SQL Server service is running fine. I doubt you may have changed the user account password used for SQL Server service. After restarting the machine, you also need to update the user account of SQL Server service in Configuration
Manager. Re-type the user account name and password under Log on tab and see how it helps.
    Thanks.
