Windows Seven XP Mode Troubleshooting

Hello,
On R500 (Seven Pro 64 bits Ram 4 Go), I try to use the Windows XP mode. But the XP virtual machine is unusable because it's very very slow.
For example when I launch ONLY the Task Manager, the CPU is between 20 and 100 % used !
With the Command line, the caracters entered manually are displayed with a dealy !!!

I do not use XP mode. (as of the many issues it has) I use VMware it runs fast if you give XP 1g of ram to use. Being that you have 4g you should be able to give it 2g's I would think. You will however need a XP disk to install it in VMware.

Firefox 22.0 ONLY connects to Internet in Windows 7 'Safe Mode' (IE does connect)

FireFox 22.0 only works in Windows 7 'Safe Mode'. Any other program on computer that needs the Internet connects fine; i.e. the Internet connection is good.
Have not recently installed an update, nor 'Add-On'; this is PURELY a FireFox problem. The problem started "suddenly".. no new installs of programs etc.
Actions:
- Deleted Firefox; Re-Installed it → Same result, FF does not connect
- Reset Computer to earlier time/date → Same result.
- Created new FireFox Profile; signed in with new profile → Same result.
- Renamed 'Firefox.exe' to 'Firefox1.exe' → Same Result
- Run 'Norton Antivirus' scan → no problems found; Same result
- Deleted "Norton AntiVirus' → Same result.
- Run latest updated 'Malwarebytes Anti-Malware' scan → no problems found; Same result
- Deleted 'Anti-Malware' → Same result.
- Cleaned Registry of any 'Mozilla' and 'FireFox' reference → Same result
→ Checked in 'Safe Mode' 'Task Manager - Processes' ... few files there.
→ Checked in 'Normal Mode' 'Task Manager - Processes'.. a lot of files there...
> In 'Normal Mode' deleted 'Processes' files to bare minimum, testing FireFox after each deletion → Same Result.
Note:
In Windows 7 'Safe Mode', there are two files which are NOT shown in 'Normal Mode' in
'Task Manager - Processes';
- ctfmon.exe &
- dllhost.exe.
Can't find info on them if they're needed by FireFox or not to connect to the Internet.

Could still be coincidence.
As for the "Troubleshooting Information" that's associated with the Question page for posting this question ("..This information gives details about the internal workings of your browser that will help in answering your question...."):

Because it ONLY works in FireFox webbrowser.. and guess what?...
My Mozilla FireFox Web Browser can NOT connect to the Internet... (See Top of this Question Page).
And guess what happens when I click on "...Try these manual steps..." to provide troubleshooting information?!?!?!?
Another "..Fill in the details of your question.." page opens up...
Anybody any thoughts? Pascal Finette? Jamie Zawinski? Dave Hyatt? Joe Hewitt? Blake Ross?

Had deleted '''HideMyIP-P''' from computer recently, and didn't have problems untill I re-started computer... Which, come to think of it now, wasn't until a few days after deleting ''''HMIP-P''''... (computer is 'on' 24/7).
Then, on start-up, it wouldn't allow FireFox to connect to the Internet.
After reading through the website you recommneded, which mentiond ''HideMyIP-P'', I re-Installed ''HMIP-P'', then turned the "hiding" 'off' and was allowed(!) with FireFox to connect again.

Hi, are you saying that you start Firefox and it stalls -- you can see it in the Task Manager but it never displays -- but if you kill that process and start Firefox again it starts up properly that second time?
If you look at the statistics available in the Task Manager's processes tab such as bytes read or other bytes, can you see whether Firefox is doing anything at all? ''Note: You might need to add columns if your Processes tab isn't set up to display statistics. You can do that from the View menu.''

ReadyComm 4.0 for Windows Seven?

Hi there,
When trying to install ReadyComm software 4.0 under my Y530 and Windows Seven x64 French Professional, it fails when using or not compatibility mode.
Is there a newer version or might wait the official launch of Seven to have final softwares?

My computer was delivered with a Vista version and Readycomm installed...... that is the goal of my question.
But as Windows 7 still do good job for wifi and network management, isn't it quite similar to the Vista one?

Problem with Siebel Image Creator in Windows Seven OS

Hi! i try to generate the siebel install image with the Image Creator for Windows OS. The version of Siebel that i download of edelivery is 8.1.1.5 for windows OS (32 bits).
I have in my computer, windows seven OS (32 bits), but the Image Creator don't work well... I can't create the Siebel Install Image...
Any ideas?

Have you tried to run the Image Creator in XP mode and with Administrator rights?

Those were correct. The troubleshooter says the network location needs to be set to home but when the connection is identified as private and cannot be changed. The windows seven computer is not identifying a homegroup name but the windows eight computer is. Both computers say to join now under home sharing but it is never showing up.

Just delete the same songs from your library in iTunes. Select the first song, hold the shift key, select the last song (which will select everything in between) and press delete.

Since I upgraded Windows Vista to Windows 7 iTunes only works in Windows 7 "Safe Mode". it will not run in the normal mode. (It ran properly in Vista) I spent several hours with the Microsoft Technician going through the "1717 suggestions, but to no avail. On my own, I tried iTunes in Windows 7 "Safe Mode" and was successful! It ran like a charm. Unfortunately, I can't run iTunes properly in "Safe Mode" I have not tried moving one set of the files yet. But if iTunes works in Safe Mode, do I need to relocate anything or do I need to find what is causing the conflict between Windows 7 and iTunes?

Installing Firefox with windows 7 64bit mode just does not work.

I have windows 7 64bit mode. I cannot install firefox, it crashes all the time when I open it. I know the problem is because my windows 7 is in 64bit mode. Can you (firefox support) or someone on this forum provide the simple and easy steps of getting it to work. Also can you (firefox) hurry up and release a 64bit version. I'm using google chrome and crazy browser as they seem to have no problems at all. I really want to use firefox but it just won't set up for me because I'm running win7 64bit mode. If I was running win7 32bit mode I wouldn't be having any issues. Has anyone out there got a simple step by step solution for this? It it mind boggling that with todays technology no one has a simple fix for this issue. Help!!!!!

I have been running Win 7 64 bit on an HP Pavilion lap for several months. The whole browser thing has been a nightmare. My work involves heavy duty internet research. Firefox crashes every few minutes. There is no specific event I can find that kicks this off, but running the latest Flash Players and Adobe Reader makes it a lot worse. In fact, I had to set up the adobe reader to not run within the Firefox window. I had to back off to an old version of adobe Reader and Flash Player to accomplish this. I love Firefox. I was disappointed to have to uninstall it as it was impossible to run searches with it.
So then it proved to be that IE either version 8 or 9 was even worse. I could not keep it up long enough to run a search.
So I installed Chrome which has some nice features, but it also crashes, albeit more gracefully so I do not lose my place and it makes a quick recovery but there are many online applications where Chrome just does not work.
My son also has Win7 64 bit and says he is also having the same problems.
I want my Firefox back! Please fix it.

bootcamp is 4.0.1
My windows Seven licence is a MSDNAA licence with sp1 included ...
I can't install it.
I define 30Gb partition for windows using bootcamp. It formats the partition then reboots and problem occurs at this step.
On display, following message occurs:
"No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key"
I tried differents ways...through dvd or usb key but each time problem occurs...
Windows seven is an iso file downloaded from Ms website. Using bootcamp, I select the iso file and choose USB 2.0 flashdrive (4Gb) as target.
any idea ?

before to burn again a dvd, what kind of file, bootcamp will manage as source file? operating system as an iso file ? operating system boot disk ?
the first option of the bootcamp menu stipulates you have to provide an iso file (as source) and an usb key (as target). That's what I made. result was an usb key with OS distribution inside (files and directories and subdirectories.
I test it on a windows laptop. it works as bootable usb key .....
but not with bootcamp on my macbook Pro!!! After partitioning when bootcamp process reboots, the message is
No bootable device -- insert boot disk and press any key
but yes it, it's bootable usb key !!! it seems to me it only checks dvd device but not usb key device.
if we do not use usb key but dvd, what kind of file bootcamp is waiting for ? iso file, bootable disk ??
not clear for me ....

I tried to find drivers for windows seven 64 bit but I can't find this sound card in the list of products.

I am going to buy a new workstation(preferably DELL). In that, I would like to use a software that only runs on Windows XP SP 2. I have Win XP OS but I'm not sure whether the drivers will match with the new hardware.
I need your suggestions for this issue.
I am using virtual PC and XP mode in Windows 7 Ultimate. I downloaded these softwares from microsoft website.
The XP mode, it runs on Win XP SP 3. But, I need SP 2. Is there any solution for that?

It's important to know that virtual machines are typical emulated. If you install a virtual XP, you don't need to try find drivers for example a display driver for a physical device.
So, drivers will work if the drivers are working in the host machine.
The XP mode, it runs on Win XP SP 3. But, I need SP 2. Is there any solution for that?

Can't create a Windows Seven USB drive using Bootcamp

Hi! I ve been trying to create a Windows Seven bootable USB drive using the Bootcamp Assistant. I tried to create it using an ISO of my Windows DVD in order to install it on my new Mac Mini. My problem is that I get an error: Your bootable USB drive could not be created, an error occurred while copying the windows installation files. My USB drive is 8G, and I‘ve tried with a 100G external HDD too... So it‘s not a size problem. I also tried to format the drive different ways without any success... I found lots of threads relating to this problem but none of them had a solution. Any clues? Thanks in advance!
