Windows shutdown startup errors

When I shutdown Windows on my new Yoga 2 11 and later turn on the laptop i get a bunch of dos errors and wont load into Windows.  I have to power off and back on and then it loads into windows.
I have been shutting down Windows using the shutdown button (like on a desktop)
I am not use to the solid state drive.  Am i doing something wrong?
thanks
Matt

hi matthew737,
Welcome to Lenovo Community Forums!
Are you shutting down the System like this?
1. Pull up the Chams Bar on the right hand side.
2. Press the Power Icon
3. Click on shutdown
If NO -  Shut down should be on this method, Try it and see if that fixes it.
If YES -  Try Disabling the fast start up
Hope this helps

  • CS6 in Windows 8 Startup Error

    Hello,
I just bought a new laptop, a Sony Intel i7 with Windows 8. I just bought the creative cloud and opened up Premiere pro. I got this startup error, "Adobe Premiere pro could not find any capable video play modules. Please update your video display drivers and start again.
I've seen forums discussing this issue, but nothing has worked. I tried it in admin and nothing. I went to my graphics properties and changed the power settings to maximim performance, nothing.
Does it have to do with it being on windows 8?
    Thanks
    Julie

So, you did everything it says here? http://helpx.adobe.com/premiere-pro/kb/error---preludevideo-play-modules.html
What is the exact brand/model graphics adapter/chip and the exact device driver version?
If nVidia, find the driver driver version
Right click in any open area of the Windows desktop
Select NVIDIA Control Panel from the popup window
Select SYSTEM INFORMATION at the lower left corner
Driver version should be the 1st line in Details
    >graphics properties and changed the power settings to maximim performance
Does that mean you have dual video adapters?

  • HP Laptop Windows Reinstallation, Startup Error

I recently tried starting up my HP Laptop. It's about a year old. It was working all times previous to this use, but hasn't since. It says that due to a recent update that I need to re-insert a Windows installation disc because my NLS data is missing. I did not recieve such a disc. How can I get this disc and get this error taken care of? I don't want to be redirected to a bunch of different dead ends, as I have been in the past. I just would like to fix and get past this issue on my computer. Does anyone know what is wrong and what I can do to fix it? I need to get the reinstallation disc for Windows, I think it is Windows 7. IDEAS?

When requesting assistance, please provide the complete model name and/or product number of the HP computer in question. HP/Compaq makes thousands of models of computers that are all different. Without this information it may be difficult or impossible to assist you in resolving your issue.
The above requested information can be found on the bottom of your computer or inside the battery compartment.
Most consumer computers, desktop and laptop alike, haven't come with operating system or recovery/restore discs since around 2003.
When you first setup your computer you should have created a set of HP Recovery Discs and possibly a Windows Repair CD. If you didn't created these discs, you may be able to order a set from HP or a third party vendor. Alternatively, you can download and create a Windows 7 installation disc or USB Flash drive and attempt to repair your computer.  Please see "How to Install Windows 7 Without the Disc" for instructions on how to download Windows 7 and create the installation media.
Once you have this disc you can use it to repair your current Windows installation. Please see "Starting your computer from a Windows 7 installation disc or USB flash drive" and "Startup Repair: frequently asked questions" for more information about repair your computer.

  • Foundation 6.0/ Windows 2003 Startup Error

I am receving the same error that I've seen reported by others on this message board (openkernelsearchimpl). Unfortunately, changing the Default Auth Pool to run with the Local System Account did not fix the problem for me. I've also included diagnostic.bat. Has anyone seen this/know how to resolve it?
    Thanks!

I was running Oracle on the same box as the portal (developer machine for testing). My solution (after talking to MSDN support) was to give the network service read and execute permission on the D:\Oracle\Ora10\bin folder and that resolved the issue.
I couldn't upload my documennt so here is the text without the images. Email me at [email protected] the word document I put together.
IIS_wpg (IIS Worker Process Group):This group contains the anonymous user, network service account and several other machine accounts. You can put this account on any folders that contain .dll's that your application references to grant acces to these .dlls to the application. Just the default of Read / Execute are needed.
ASPNet Account: This user is not used in IIS 6.0. You can ignore it for the most part. The only time it comes into play is if you run IIS 6 in isolation mode (IIS 5.0). If run in isolation mode then the ASPNet user acts like it did in IIS 5.0 and Application Pools in IIS 6.0 are ignored.
IIS 6.0 used the w3wp.exeworker process
IIS 5.0 or IIS 6.0 running in isolation mode uses the aspnet_wp.exe
    Application Pool Identity Tab:
    Network Service
    a. Most restrictive
    b. Run as the NT AUTHORITY\NETWORK SERVICE user
    Local Service
    a. Rarely ever used in practice.
    b. Run as NT AUTHORITY\SERVICE
    Local System
    a. Least Restrictive. SYSTEM is slapped on pretty much every folder in the OS with at least Read / Execute rights.
    b. Runs as NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM
NOTE: These users don't appear with the NT AUTHORITY\when looking at Properties of files and folders. LOCAL SERVICE = SERVICE = NT AUTHORITY\SERVICE
    Troubleshooting Errors
    1. Use FileMon from www.sysinternals.com
    2. In our example below we are receiving errors because the NETWORK SERVICE account does not have access to the Oracle files listed
    3. This was causing this error when accessing http://localhost/portal/server.pt:
    4. The error that .net was throwing on the application page didn't reflect the real error that was occurring. By using FileMon, saving the logfile to text and then searching with notepad for Access Denied"we were able to pinpoint the permissions issue. Can also open the FileMon log file you saved into Excel for some nicer sorting features.
    5. D:\oracle\ora10\BINadded NETWORK SERVICE and accept default rights. Could have put IIS_WGP group on instead of NETWORK SERVICE but since DefaultAppPool is running as NETWORK SERVICE the other groups didn't need access. This fixed the error message above!!!!

  • Satellite C660-1FS - Windows 7 startup error

Hello to everybody. I have this laptop with Windows 7 Home Premium (no installation disk given by purchase). Since this morning I experience the following message/problem
    Windows Error Recovery
Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. If windows files have been damaged or configured incorrectly, startup repair can help diagnose and fix the problem. If power was interrupted during startup, chose start windows normally
    Launch Startup repair (recommended)
    Start Windows Normally
Both options do not work. Furthermore, Windows cannot enter in Safe Mode. I live in Belgium and I don't know what to do. Shall I try with a friend's windows 7 installation disk (from Dell notebook) or I should contact Toshiba directly?
    Thanks in advance

Check if you can recover the notebook using HDD recovery procedure as described here:
    http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R02.htm
If this will not work, you will have to install the OS using recover disk.
I assume you have not created the recover disk in the past. Right?
In such case you need to order the recover disk from here:

  • Windows 7 startup error after uninstall of Photosmart 6510

After uninstalling Photosmart 6510 and software, get error message: "There was a problem starting C:\Program Files\HP\HP Photosmart 6510 series\bin\HPStatusBL.dll" when Windows 7 starts up.

Sounds like the software was not completely removed (or atleast Windows still is looking for something). Microsoft make a tool that should be able to help, it is called FixIt. Click the link below for more details:

  • Error message on Windows 2000 startup, "Tcmsvr.dll, File is missing"

We get the same error messages three times on Windows 2000 startup on some of our companys computers: "Tcmsvr.dll, File is missing". The computers are Tecra s1 models.
Which Toshiba driver is this related to?

I have checked the Toshiba driver page and it seems that the common modules for Tecra S1 are not available.
Anyway, the Tcmsvr.dll file could be also a part of Toshiba console. Its very difficult to detect it.
The Toshiba console is available on the driver page.
    It's worth a try.

  • JRE 1.5.0_11 Startup Error with MS Windows Vista. Please help!

Hi there, I am hoping that someone can help me with this very confusing problem. A friend of mine made a program for me last month using java. It works brilliantly on computers running MS Windows 2000 and XP but as soon as I installed it on one running Vista I get this error:

I would really appreciate any help that anyone can give me as this problem needs to be resolved as a matter of urgency and my friend who made the software has gone on holiday and I cannot get hold of him at the moment. Also, I apologise in advance if this is the wrong section to post this problem.
    Thanks!

Seems to be a problem with exe4j. Ask your friend to deploy a platform independent version of his program as well.

The National Instruments Domain Service service terminated unexpectedly.  It has done this 1 time(s).
For more information, see Help and Support Center at http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/events.asp.
I checked the forums at NI and found a similar problem with a computer with Windows Vista installed. I have Windows XP Professional installed on the computer, but tried the update through the self updating feature of the NI software.
After the update the problem remains exactly the same.
To find out more about the error, I checked several Windows properties to identify the cause of the problem. One thing I found was on the Services control, under Administrative Tools. After the error message during boot, the services window shows up 2 services whose status is "Stopping" and the startup type is "Automatic". This services are:
    Lookout Citadel Driver
    National Instruments Time Sincronization
I'm using an IBM ThinkPad T30 (Type 2366-BG1) with Windows XP Professional with 768Mb of memory, 80GB HDD.
Can anyone give me some hints on this matter?
    Thank you in advance.

    Good morning.
I tried the steps suggested but the problem remained. I then decided to try some aditional steps and apparently the problem is solved. I describe the steps I took bellow.
The problem was related to my antivirus / firewall solution, Panda Antivirus + Antispyware 2007.
    1. I changed the previously mentioned Windows services startup to "Manual" instead of "Automatic".
    2. Rebooted the computer.
    3. Opened the services control in Administrative Tools.
    4. Selected the first service "Citadel..." and pressed the "Start" button.
    5. After a few seconds, the firewall solution presented a window stating that the program was attempting to access the internet (or my LAN). I selected "Always allow".
    6. I repeated this step for all the others NI services. Some produced the same feedback, others didn't.
    7. Changed the startup type of the services to the values I had written down before.
    8. Rebooted the computer and everything worked fine.
It seems my firewall solution is unable to cope with a program trying to access the Internet (or network) before a user logs in.
    Thank you for your support.
    Best regards,
    Alexandre Ventura

    Any ideas?

    Hi
There is not error message in the Admin Server Logs. In fact, I only see the following:

    An error occurred during shutdown.
If I shutdown from the script there is no problem. Only when I try shutdown it from the Admin Server I'm using Solaris 5.8.

  • No finder windows on startup

    Hello,
I have just upgraded to Mountain Lion on my mid-2012 MB Air. When I start the machine the objects on my desktop, e.g., desktop printers, are present, however, there are never any finder windows no matter how many I have created prior to shutting down. I thought about deleting the <com.apple.finder,plist> preferences file and restarting, but this file doesn't appear to get created any longer, or at least spotlight doesn'f find it on my machine.
What can I do so that I have the same number of finder windows on startup that I had on shutdown and in the same location (this didn't seem to be an issue in 10.7)? There isn't anything that, to me, seems like a setting for this in the Finder Preferences panes.
    Some extra information:
I had to have the logic board and SSD replaced last week. The Apple Store installed 10.8 for me after the repair. I did not want to use MigrationAssisant or whatever it's called in case it brought over some corruption from my previous Lion system. So I planned to do a drag and drop of my data and re-download all my applications. I began by dragging over only the mail and mail downloads folders from my 10.7 TimeMachine backup. Before dragging any other data over, it then became clear that the new 10.8 system had some terrible problems; these occurred in my (Admin) account and in a new guest account I created (so not related to the mail and account data I had dragged over). I re-downloaded and re-installed 10.8 and did the system updates. Things seem to work ok now in so far as the issues that occurred before no longer do, BUT with the Finder windows exception mentioned above.
    Thank you.

It is normal behavior on log in NOT to have an open Finder window.
If you want them open when you Shut Down on your Apple menu in the dialoge window do you have "re-opnen windows when logging back in" check marked? It should be.
In System Preferences > General do you have "Close windows when quitting application" check marked?
    It shouldn't be.

using bootcamp, was installing windows xp, at the select ntfs or fat format mistakenly selected "leave the current file system intact." How can that be changed to a correct choice. Mac side opens correctly. Windows shows disk error. and doesn't respond to press any key. When looking in the startup disk section, windows on boot camp can be seen, but not selected. • CS3 suddenly has a startup error, cant find MFC71.DLL

Start CS3 normally, and suddenly get this error:
Adobe Photoshop CS3: Photoshop.exe - Unable To Locate Component (title bar
    of error dialog)
This application has failed to start because MFC71.DLL was not found.
Re-installing the application may fix this problem.
    OK
I click on OK and CS3 starts, but with differences. Seems some of the
windows on the right are missing now. Bridge still runs fine, I can edit
RAW files from Bridge to ACR4.5, then open from that into Photoshop, then
convert and save the files. I don't seem to have a Layers palette now or a
    Tool Options palette.
I had just gone through and uninstalled a number of old applications. None
were Adobe programs though. Immediately after doing that, this error
    started.
I found MFC71.DLL, but putting it in the Photoshop installation folder
didn't help. Can someone tell me how to fix this? Hopefully without
re-installing CS3. I have also just discovered that my DVD rewriter will
not recognize the CS3 DVD, so doing a reinstall from the disk will require a
    new DVD drive first.
The Adobe updater works and I updated PS to 10.01, and still get that
startup error and have missing palettes.
    Thanks!
    Michael

It belongs in the Windows\system32 folder.
    I also have copies in C:\Program Files\Common Files\Adobe\Updater and C:\Program Files\Adobe\CS3\Acrobat 8.0\Designer 8.0
All of the copies I found are version 7.10.3077.0

After seeing the first charges from iTunes on my Chase credit card bill, I noticed many inconsistencies. Even though the songs cost 0.99 and 1.29, with albums costing more, I have charges ranging from 0.31 to 13.42. I understand that there are probab
