Windows support files - bootcamp, drivers are not working [no sound, keyboard shortcuts]

Hi guys,
I'm using the following version of Bootcamp Version 5.0.3 (464) on MBP mid 2010, wit latest OS on it. I ave installed Windows 7 through multiple errors and had to clean the whole HD after backing the files. The Windows is running fine now, however I think I havent dowloaded Windows Support Files (second tickbox) in the bootcamp assistant when installing Windows (I only ticked the third box).
And now I have tried to download the drviers from bootcamp on USB after formating it correctly, but the USB shows its empty.
I tried the following steps:
I went back into my Mac and opened up Bootcamp, reinstalled all the Windows Support Files (the top box of Bootcamp) and made sure to put them onto an external device i.e. USB/External Hard Drive etc...
I then logged back onto my partioned Windows on my Mac and updated all the Windows Support Files. After that I restarted my computer back into Windows and popped in Guild Wars 2...
But nothing seems to be working. I went to Windows Update smth, and looked for updates found quite a few of them and isntalled all of them, but noting is working - sound and keyboard shortcuts are gone and I cant downloaed the software I want.
Could you please advice on what to do with those drivers. I have been trying for days...

Hi JFFulcrum, thanks for your suggestion. I updated the BIOS earlier and still am getting the same results. Also, I decided to try another old soundcard I had laying around today, a SB PCI 512. And....same result i'm getting with the Audigy. Windows detects both cards, says they're working, but there's no sound. I'm beginning to think I should just RMA the board
if you could find anymore information about those DMA issues, please do post! I have e-mailed gigabyte 3 days ago and they still haven't gotten back to me, so i'm not really sure where to go from here, if it's some setting in the bios, some sort of driver, a bad pci slot or what. ..

  • My usb port drivers are not working

i have purchaced new hp sleekbook os-win8, but after few days the usb drivers are not working what shoud i do
    This question was solved.
    View Solution.

What did you plug into the usb port.
    Have your tried multiple devices?
When was the last time they worked?
Try removing the drivers in device manager.
Then reboot and let them reinstall
If that fails the try a System Restore to previous date when they did work.

    HELLO SIR,

The driver could not be loaded because a previous version of the driver is still in memory."
SO WHAT CAN I DO FOR THIS? PLEASE HELP ME.

Can you check the following registry key:

  • Windows 7 No 4GB (32bit) and in 64bit BootCamp drivers do not work!!!

Hello. I have a MacBook 3,1 (late 2007 model) with 4GB RAM. Under Windows 7 32bit, only 2.96gb Ram is useable and the Boot Camp drivers run fine. How do I get Windows 7 to recognize the entire 4GB? I have used bcdedit /set pae ForeceEnable and that doesn't do anything, still 2.92gb useable not 4gb although W7 recognizes the 4Gb as available? How to enable to fully?
Second, 64bit Windows 7 recognzes the full 4gb but the Boot Camp drivers do not install at all! Hence, no mouse, sounce is crap/unusable, and the rest of the Apple devices are crap. I have downloaded BootCamp 2.1 update but in 64bit Vista, when I run BootCampx64.msi it sells me "Bot Camp x64 is not supported for this model." Hence, the 64bit drivers do not install DESPITE a 64bit OS.
I went to the Genius Bar but the guy was an oaf and didn't know anything helpful. Help please!?!!!
    Help please.

    whitedragon wrote:
That is because 32bit version do not support 4 gigs of memory. It only supports up to 2 gigs even though it can read more than that.
Windows 7 is not fully supported as it is not released yet. You might be able to find some Windows Vista 64bit drivers for it but there is no guarantee that it will work.
You are incorrect! I am UPGRADING from Vista 32bit which supports 4GB of RAM with SP1. If you read my original post, you will see that I already tried the Vista 64bit drivers in Windows 7 64bit.
Windows 7 is downloadable from Microsoft and also supported already by Parallels v4 and the latest Fusion.
Hence, my original questions stand: How can I enable fully enable 4GB in Windows 7 32bit? Or, install, with Windows 7 64bit, install the correct Boot Camp drivers?
As I said, when brunning the Vista 64bit Boot Camp drivers in Windows 7 64bit, it says "Vista x64 Boot Camp not supported on this model."
    Anyone have any suggestions?

  • Some BootCamp drivers are not installing...!?

    Hello everyone.
I've recently installed Bootcamp and WinXP Pro x32 on my new MacBook Unibody.
I got a very unpleaseant surprise...
The drivers for the wifi, ethernet, bluetooth, processor aid, chipset and isight are simply NOT installing. I'm getting the "new hardware found" notification every time I boot up, and when I try to upgrade the drivers of these "unknown devices" @ the Device Manager control panel, no adequate drivers are found. I've re-installed the bootcamp drivers that came with my MB like 10 times, with NO luck.
    HELP!

    I'm having a similar issue...
I don't have access to the Leopard CD, and I'm not paying Apple 12 bucks to ship me the CD I already own just because I left it in my dorm over interterm, but that's neither here nor there. The point is I installed XP, downloaded the drivers and installed them. The only appreciable difference after installing the drives from the installer I downloaded is that there is now the boot camp task bar icon. None of the other drivers got installed, though the installer listed them all and went smoothly.
If it helps any, this is a re-install. I wiped the windows partition clean in Disk Utility and re-installed from the same CD I used before. The only difference is this time I don't have the Leopard DVD to install the drivers from.
    Any help?

  • Windows XP file/folder handling does not work? (RSP Rules!)

Sorry if this has been asked many times before, but a forum search on "folder" does not return anything ??? (amazing)
I am trying to make sense out of where and when to use folders and collections and I wish there would be more info in the help/manual.
Lesson learned so far: you can spend an awful lot of time flagging images as rejected and then delete them from a quick collection, only to find out that they are only removed from the (logical) quick collection, not from the (physical) folder on the file system. @!x$
Now, it seams that any folder action does either not work at all or only works partially:
    - I cannot import an empty folder, to put images in later
    - I cannot drag and drop more than one file at a time to a folder
    - When I create a new folder, I never get to see it or name it in Lightroom. It gets created on the file system however, as "new folder (x)".
Why are there no settings under "preference" where to put libraries, back-ups of libraries, which library to use at startup, where and how to create/store previews and their lifetime and so on?
Also, there should be a much more convenient way in the handling of multiple computers and creating/restoring backups!
Reading some of the endless complaints about file corruptions and file losses, I think I will return to RawShooter Premium untill I finally get the feeling that my images and the work on them are safe within Lightroom. RSP is also WAY more snappy and responsive (except for the slide show)!

Jeff: You truly offered some amazing insight here! I really thought that Adobe bought Pixmantec for their technology and for the wizzards that drove that technology. Now you made it clear that all that is limited to "inspiration". Wow! So, why DID Adobe buy Pixmantec? Market share? Take the most brilliant and cheap competitor off the market? Some other reason???
Apart from that: I DO know that writing software is not easy. It must be really unpleasant for the hard working "scary brilliant" experts with a serious track history to hear people complain about issues like file handling on a particular operating system instead of admiring their brilliant ideas and concepts.
Alas, this is life: if you would buy a car you would bring it back to the garage to complain about the lock in the trunk that opens at awkward times leading you to loose your groceries instead of talking to those people about how magnificent that particular car takes you trough corners at 100 mph.
And I still believe that the RSP folks did a better job with their version 1 than Adobe did with LR, knowing that Lightroom is more complicated than RSP and taking into consideration that the Adobe people have a much longer history and experience with Photoshop/Album/Bridge. So I would say Adobe can learn a lot from the RSP boys. Just do it!
Tim: as I'm planning to move from RSP to LR (maybe wait until 1.1), the most important starting information I'm looking for right now is how to set up my filesystem and the LR database for the most efficient way of working and for the "most" data security. Neither the LuLa tutorial nor the help file/manual seem to offer much information on this -I believe extremely important- topic.
All this aside from what seems like Windows file handling bugs to me, hopefully adressed in version 1.1

  • Can't connect download windows support software because you are not connected to the internet

I currently am having trouble downloading the windows support software for boot camp 4.0. Whenever I try to download it, i get a pop up saying I'm not connected to the internet. So it gives me an option to go through network diagnostics, and it says my connection is up and runnin perfectly. so i hit try again on the pop up, and the pop up reapears, again and again. my software is all up to date, I have a lower end 15'' macbookpro from august 2011, running osx lion, and 8 gb of ram. I have restarted my computer, my router and I continuously keep getting the same pop up error. When i first got my macbookpro, i was able to download the support software perfectly fine, but now its not even letting me get a crack at downloading it.
    please help, thank you!

Sounds like you are wired to modem/router directly, yes?
I know that the servers for Windows Boot Camp can be flaky slow impossibly buggy and even off line at times. One of the pitfalls of always on always connected - what if. I like physical media or alternatives.
And there is no standalone place to download outside of Boot Camp Assistant..

  • Keys are not working on Pro Keyboard.

I have a Pro and a few keys started to not work at all. Any ideas to why or how I can fix it?

Failure on many keyboards seems to happen in clusters of keys that are near each other.
Many designs today feature a complete rubber  membrane, so spills are not an issue until it is so much liquid that it runs off the edges and into the electronics below.
X423424X is right if it is under warranty-- the folks at the store think of most of those keyboards as near-disposable and just slap a new one in.

  • Windows 7 32bit bootcamp setup.exe not working? (MacbookPro)

Hi, sorry for asking a question that is probably asked frequently, but i have installed a 32 bit version of windows 7 on my macbook pro (13in) using BootCamp, and I realized that bootcamp 5 uses support software for only 64 bit, so I downloaded the Bootcamp version 4 support software for windows, and i am assuming it is only compatible with macbook air, because I keep recieving error messeges when trying to install it to windows 7. It says that it is not intended for this computer model. I have read that i can manually update my drivers, but I dont know how to do that???? Is there a version of support software that will work with macbook pro 32 bit? Or do i need to install the drivers manually?

Look under your machine here to see exactly which versions are supported and the correct boot camp pkg for that install.

  • I'm using Windows XP. outlook Express hyperlinks are not working. Might Firefox be blocking the hyperlinks?

I've tried the "FIX IT" on the Microsoft website but it did not fix it. I've been in touch with my anti virus software company who assure me that their product cannot block hyperlinks. I've gone into windows folder options/ file types to check settings but they seem OK. I'm now wondering if a seting in Firefox could block the hyperlinks.

    Hi,
Many thanks to those who took the time to reply. I use Firefox as my default browser to search the internet. I use Outlook Express to download my emails. Some emails have hyperlinks. When I place the cursor over a hyperlink a (very long) web address appears at the bottom of the window but clicking on the link does nothing. I have searched the internet for possible solutions. One was that the problem was caused by my anti virus software blocking the hyperlink. My anti virus software provider excluded this. Another related to a possible problem in windows XP control panel/folder options/file types. I checked this and all was OK. A website suggested that my browser may be causing the problem. Firefox itself is my default browser and is working OK. My question is "can a setting (or something else) in Firefox block the hyperlinks in Outlook Express from working''. The problem occurs in Outlook Express but the hyperlinks have to work via Firefox to open the links which are web pages (accessed via Firefox)..

  • 64-bit Boot Image Drivers Are Not Working

I've been deploying Windows 7 x86 and x64 for years. I've been using the same 32-bit boot image for both and it's been working great.
We've decided to take the plunge and go all x64 moving forward.  I want to switch to a 64-bit boot image so I don't have to curate the drivers for two architectures.
I've created a 64-bit boot image, and included all of the 64-bit versions of the drivers in my 32-bit boot image, but they don't seem to be working.  I've tried booting 3 different models, but I receive "Failed to find a valid network adapter."
I've looked within the boot image, because I wanted to see the driver files.  Either I just don't know where I'm looking, or they're in the "Files" folder where each file is renamed to a number.
What might I have done wrong?

I've solved my problem by downloading and importing the Dell WinPE driver pack.  Now I've just got to add the USB 3.0 drivers (I support laptops that don't have optical drives), and I'll be set.

  • ITunes 10.3.1.55 on Windows 7 64bit device drivers are not signed

I have Windows 7 Ultimate and upgraded to iTunes 10.3.1.55.  Now iTunes will not reconize my device. It appears that Apple has incorrectly signed the device drivers and Windows will not install them. Has anyone come up with a solution to this, short of disabling didital driver enforcement?
    Tom

Perhaps let's first try updating your Apple Software Update.
Launch Apple Software Update ("Start > All Programs > Apple Software Update"). Does it launch and offer you a newer version of Apple Software Update? If so, choose to install just that update to Apple Software Update. (Deselect any other software offered at the same time.)
If the ASU update goes through okay, try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the errors this time?
