Windows Task Bar Icon (Access 2013)

This is my first database I created from scratch in Access 2013, and I am not sure how to change my Windows Task Bar Icon use the Application Icon.  Not a huge deal, but to keep consistency between my systems, it would be nice to resolve.
How does one get Access 2013 to use the Application Icon to show in the Windows Task Bar when the program is launched?

Hi Mark,
>> it wasn't a big issue, it is just by assigning an Icon in Access 2010, the application magically had that same icon on the task bar showing open programs.<<
Based on my test, the icon in Windows Task Bar will not change after I assign an icon for Access 2010. I tested in Access 2010 on Windows 7, here is the screenshot for your reference:

  • Hiding windows task bar

I am working on a custom TS operator interface written in CVI 5.5. I am trying to hide the windows task bar. I have used
    SetPanelAttribute (panel, ATTR_SYSTEM_MENU_VISIBLE, 0);
and this works, except that when my modelsupport DLL puts a popup on the screen, the taskbar becomes visible again while the popup is present. How can I stop this?

    Hi Byron,
I have tried to reproduce the problem you are describing and it seems to work fine for me. One thing I am somewhat confused by is that you say you used the SetPanelAttribute call to hide the "windows taskbar". I believe you are actually talking about the "system menu" that is accessed via the icon on the left side of a window's title bar, as the "windows task bar" is actually the floating menu bar displayed at the bottom of the Window's desktop and contains the infamous Start menu.
Anyhow, I have created an example TS 2.0.1 sequence file that calls a CVI dll which spawns a new thread and displays a panel that has the system menu hidden. If you run the sequence you will see that when the modelsupport.dll displays the modal UUT serial number dialo
g and pass/fail banner dialogs, it does not change the visibility of the system menu displayed by the CVI dll UI. (the reason I create new threads to display the dialog is so that the call to the dll does not wait on RunUserInterface to complete and returns execution to the sequence file immediately).
**Note: The dll project was created in CVI 6.0, and the sequence file in TS 2.0.1, please state what versions of CVI and TS you are using if you want help with a specific version. You do not need TS 2.0.1 to use the dll I created, just simply call the lone function in the dll in a sequence file with the CVI adapter and run the file with Test UUTs in whatever version of TS you have. Since the dll was created in CVI 6.0 you may need to install the CVI 6.0 RTE, which is available on ni.com under the downloads section, and it is fully compatible with previous versions of CVI.
So, just give this a shot to see if you can discern anything from it.

  • Can you enable and disable windows task bar

I there a dynamic way to enable and disable the windows task bar?

I am not clear on a way to do this, but if it were possible, you would have to make calls to Windows SDK. You would use the Call Library Function Node to access one of the Windows System DLLs to do this. I would suggest checking http://msdn.microsoft.com. This is a great resource for SDK related issues.

  • Display window task bar on web page opened in kiosk mode.

    I am using IE8 in Window 7.
I open a certain web page in kiosk mode (call IE browser with -k option, a full screen without window frame). How can the window task bar be displayed at the bottom of the web page while the web page is in kiosk mode?
    Thank you for advice.

    Hi,
If you are using kiosk mode for a public access terminal, then you use the default Guest user account and use GPO to limit their access to other applications that are installed at the machine level.
How the web browser opens links from other programs is set in Internet Options.
I don't think your EULA's cover Word or Outlook on public access computers.
Allowing the public to access the windows shell is asking for trouble.... putty and your networks mud.
Firstly you should update the machine with the latest Windows updates and IE11. And download the admx files and use GPEdit applied to the Guest account to lock down the machine for that user account.(including the shell)

  • Photo bin photos and Windows Task bar

My opened photos, elements, etc. are showing up not only in the photo bin, but also all across my Windows Task bar.  Is there any way to only have them show up in the Elements 11 photo bin?

    Hi,
If you want to have floating windows, then each window will have a separate icon on the Taskbar. However, you can group the icon together so that it looks like just one.
Right click on the Taskbar and select properties. In the Properties dialog box check the setting for Taskbar buttons.
The above is for Windows 7 but Windows 8 should be similar

Can anyone help me pliz?? one
other question is that if I manage to do it somehow,
it will limit my program to windows right?? isthere
a way out of it??Yes. Writing it in VB.I'm sorry, I'm too tired to actually read. I thought you want to limit it to Windows. No, you won't be limiting it to Windows, as your application will hopefully not crash in case there is no start menu entry or system tray icon.

  • Windows task bar locks when .vi is running

The Windows task bar locks when the .vi is running.
How do I enable the windows task bar so I can multi-task when my .vi is running? Is this new with LabVIEW7?

Thanks Allen, I thought you may have had the answer as I do have a clock function running all the time, but I have a delay in that loop. I figured out what is going wrong. If I maximize the .vi, then the task bar will not function when the .vi is running. So, I did not maximize the .vi, and chose 'Size the front panel to the width and height of the entire screen' on the Window Size category under vi properties, and the task bar now works when the .vi is running. I feel that I should be able to have the front panel maximized, and still use the task bar. I do have 'Always on top' selected in my Start/Settings/Taskbar options. Thanks!

  • Duo monitor and windows task bar...

Hi, i have two monitors. And now here is my question/problem, when i watch videos or live streams(main monitor) i usually have another page for browsing open on my 2nd monitor and i stay on that page while watching live stream at the same time. However the windows task bar wont disappear and it remains and over-laps the bottom part of my main monitor. Is there any way to change this or perhaps theres no hope?

    Hi,
if my understanding is correct your issue is more related to primary/secondary monitor setting in Windows. Please note that when in extended mode the taskbar will normally be only shown on the primary monitor.
The Windows taskbar will disappear when you use FF in fullscreen mode (F11) which you may find useful when streaming video from web.
    Hope it helps

  • Disguised Windows task bar if executable is running.

    Hi,
I configured my vi in such a way that the Windows task bar is disguised while the vi is running. However, after I built an executable with the application builder, the Windows task bar remains visible while the exe is running. Why's that? How can I make the Windows task bar to vanish if the executable is running? I'd like to have the full screen modus, if the program runs.
    Thanks,
    Peter

I'm not seeing the title bar when I run an exe in which it was removed in configuring the windows appearance. When you are building the application, check the settings under "VI settings" to make sure that they agree with what you configured in the vi itself.
I built a very simple vi and when it runs there is a borderless frontpanel (see attached)

  • Running EXE Duplicate task in Window Task Bar

When I am running a particular exe, I am always getting two items in my window taskbar.  One time would says "programX.vi", and the other one would says just "programX".   I don't need two.  I just want one on the window task bar.  How do I get rid of one?  They are both referring to the same exe running.

  • Since upgrading to 9.01, FF starts up with previous tabs open. Hovering over the FF icon in the Windows Task Bar shows the thumbnails of the pages. But clicking any of the thumbnails to bring the browser window up fail.

I can right click the FF icon in the task bar and click Open New Window, and a new blank window appears, but none of the existing tabs will open.

  • Thinkvantage Toolbox icon on the Windows Task Bar

I have tried removing the Thinkvantage icon from the task bar; but it returns when I reboot.  Am I missing something?

ok, you guys are going to love me, or everyone else having this issue at least.   Its not a total fix, but asthesically it works.
Issue: Thinkvantage Toolbox icon hijacks the "explorer" icon.
    to get it back
first if you have modified the properties of Thinkvantage Toolbox - then change it back.
Start > all programs > Thinkvantage Toolbox > right click > properties > target = (paste this in there)
    C:\Windows\explorer.exe ::{26EE0668-A00A-44D7-9371-BEB064C98683}\2\::{A8A91A66-3A7D-4424-8D24-04E180695C7A}\Provider%5CMicrosoft.Base.DeviceDisplayObjects//DDO:%7B00000000-0000-0000-FFFF-FFFFFFFFFFFF%7D\cat{8AA6B0C2-14A6-4da8-BF36-F7D93ACE9ACE}
Next - right click on the pinned Thinkvantage Toolbox icon > right click where it says Thinkvantage Toolbox > target = %windir%\explorer.exe > in the same window > Change icon > the look for icons path is corrupt > paste %windir%\explorer.exe in the bar, then choose the "folder" icon. > OK > OK > DONEEE!!!!!
Thinkvantage Toolbox = opens Thinkvantage Toolbox
windows explorer icon = opens libraries directory.
    You're welcome.

  • Windows task bar not appearing while in itunes full screen

My Window 7 task bar does not appear while in itunes full screen after updating to itunes 10.5.  I checked that it functions correctly with all of my other programs and it used to work fine in previous versions of itunes.  It is frustrating when I am trying to check battery power, access my wi-fi hard drive, etc. I have been pressing the windows button to pull up the start menu then I can see whaat I need but this seems to be only a work around.  Is there some sort of a check box or something I may have missed in itunes? Does anyone else have this issue?

If it worked OK in the test library give this a try:
Starting over from scratch with new library
Start over with a new library and import the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from your original library as follows:
    1. Open the library package like this.
    2. Launch iPhoto with the Option key held down and, when asked, select the option to create a new library.
    3. Drag the subfolders of the Originals (iPhoto 09 and earlier) or the Masters (iPhoto 11) folder from the open iPhoto Library package into the open iPhoto window a few at a time.
This will create a new library with the same Events (but not necessarily the same Event names) as the original library but will not keep the metadata, albums, books slideshows and other projects.
Note:  your current library will be left untouched for further attempts at a fix if so desired.

  • White battery and WiFi task bar icons

I have a new W520-4276 with Win7 Pro 64-bit SP1, BIOS 1.06. After I removed Norton Internet Security, the little battery and WiFi icons in the Task Bar system tray are white. Hovering the mouse cursor over them shows proper data, e.g, 100% charge. The larger Lenovo battery icon to their left is green, so it behaves normally.
I think this happened after I removed Norton Internet Security. Has anyone seen this? Any comments or suggestions?
It's a small thing but the icons should actively reflect the underlying data, not be white.

The OP references a larger green Lenovo icon to the left, so I am assuming he is referring to the Windows icons.
In Windows 7, these icons are white unless there is a problem.  Boring, but true.  They are "animated", though, in that the wireless icon will show signal strength (bars) and the power icon will show a different icon for battery versus AC.
I don't know of a way to change the colors.  Never wondered until now.
