Windows title bar control

I need to monitor and/or control the Windows title bar boxes (specifically,
the "Close" box), to reduce operator error. Some application operators refuse
to use the programmed LV switches and controls in preference of the standard
Windows buttons. How do you programmatically access these Windows functions?

Right click on the VI icon and select VI setup. Go to Window Options and uncheck
the Allow User to Close Window, Show Menu Bar, and Show Toolbar boxes.

If running on the web you can use webutil or SET_WINDOW_PROPERTY (title). You can use GET_APPLICATION_PROPERTY(usename) as well.

  • Firefox 5.0 on Windows 7 jumpy, window title bar pops in and out, window resizes.

Question pretty much sums it up. Windows Title bar keeps flitting in and out, causing screen to jump. Concurrently, right and bottom window margins resize a bit smaller. No apparent rhyme or reason, but leads to a lot of bad mouse clicks. Unrelated to whether the bookmarks tab is open or not. Happens in safemode as well, and my theme is the default. I don't want a plug-in to fix this, I want Firefox 5.0 to behave properly on its own.

The Views menu is only meant to view bookmarks in a different sort order (hence the name of that menu). It doesn't have any lasting effects.

  • How to forbid window title bar to be draged?

If a top level vi has the window title bar,how to forbid user to drag the title bar to change window's position?
P.S. vi's property "Allow user to resize window" has been forbidden.
    LabVIEW 8.6

Unfortunately, the LabVIEW event structure does not provide an event like "Panel Move" or a similiar stuff.
I think, you have two different options:
    a) Either use the event structure -> timeout case to set (if necessary) every Xms with the invoke method "Front Panel.Runtime Position.Custom" the position of the VI.
    b) Probably you find an appropriate function in the attached zip file

  • Windows Vista 's Window Title Bar [Blur Effect]

    Hello guys
im trying to make a blur effect like windows vista's window
title bar, where one can see the background application in a blury

How can i do the same thing?

That's unfortunate it was removed in Java 5. We use Web Start for headless applications (no GUI windows) and so at times would have multiple instances running on the same machine each using a different JNLP. Previously, we could see which instance was which by the console displaying the description tag information on the console's title bar. This was a great feature of JWS that now appears to be less functional. Sun, is there a way to get this back if you are listening?
The s: command doesn't display the JNLP description tags which we helped to identify the application. We want to use Windows task manager to see a list of all applications and from this list end any JWS process easily from the window. Without the title on the console window, there is no way to uniquely identify a particular application.
Regardless, our frustration in using JWS has increased with this new introduced limitation.

    Hi all,
Does anybody know how to set the window title bar like the one

  • Firefox 4 beta 1/2 dont have the window title bar

If i choose to hide the menu bar, I can see the orange "firefox" button but there is no windows title bar that has the min, max, and X buttons. Like this title bar is cleanly chopped off.
However running firefox as admin doesn't have this issue.

  • Firefox hangs when starting, Firefox window title bar says "Firefox (not responding)". (was: Firefox crashes)

Firefox hangs when starting, during session restore. Uninstalled then installed new Firefix. Same problem. Firefox window title bar says "Firefox (not responding)". It just hangs, won;t display even one page. What to do? Tried -safe-mode, smae result.

I keep too many tabs open and whilst trying to download a pdf file Firefox 8.01 hung and when I restarted it the Embarrassing page opened. I knew which tab I needed to delete but as soon as I tried to navigate to the errant tab it said "Not Responding" and nothing I could do would make it respond. I tried command line opening in safe mode and the same thing happened.
I have read the other posts but cannot send a crash dump as it is "Not Responding" and does not get far enough to crash.

  • No option to change Window Title Bar Font in gnome-tweak-tool

    Hey there,
did a fresh install today on a Haswell-PC. But there's no option to change Window Title Bar Font in gnome-tweak-tool anymore? All the other options are there.
Is there a way to set the Window Title Bar Font elsewhere? Does someone know why this option was removed or is it due to my system somehow? I also don't see this option in the dconf-editor.

  • Programmatic Windows Title Bar

    Hello,
I would like to Programmatically change the display of the windows title bar of my application so that it reads the name of the file I currently have open inside of it. I can not find any documentation for dynamic changes, only static ones using the VI properties window. I know this completely possible because I have used LV programs in the past that do this. Is there a vi property that I am missing or something?
    Thanks,
    Glen D

Here's a vi that shows one way of doing it.

  • Removing auto text in app.alert window title bar

I added the following JS to a button and it works perfectly. Almost! I'm still getting the automatic text "Warning: JavaScript Window-" showing in the title bar. Is there a way to clear this and only show my custom text?
    app.alert ("List specific services and service levels that are legislated (reference applicable legislation).\n\n" + "For example, one long term care bed in rented facility.", 3, 0, "Legislated Mandatory Service Requirements");

Sounds like you are maximising the window. You might want to look at using full-screen exclusive mode:
    http://java.sun.com/docs/books/tutorial/extra/fullscreen/index.html
This has advantages over just maximising the window as the painting system can ignore the windows painting system and actively draw directly to the screen. Theres also stuff in the tute about taking advantage of page-flipping, controling the bitdepth, resolution etc.
If you're already using this please ignore this post.
    Hope this helps
    Michael
