DLL files typically do not affect Mac OS X systems.  Are you sure you are running Mac OS X?  If you are running some version of iTunes Windows, the forum for that is here:

Tried to download an update last week. Failed message. Now get messageMSVCR80.dll missing. Advised to download new Itunes programme. Would this delete all my existing library and wish list? Any ideas

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
    iTunes
    Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
    Bonjour
    Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
    Please note:
Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.

  • Firefox carshes at startup no settings have changed. Latest version of FF. I just rebooted the computer from windows updates.

After reboot and installing windows updates etc. FF crashes all the sudden. No idea why. I have deleted all profiles completely, unintsalled ran ccleaner and reinstalled. nothing. Any ideas? I don't think windows updates effect FF. FF will not even open in safe mode and rests d not do anything all I can do is restart and close.
Thanks I appreciate anybody who can help. I have current anti malware and my pc is clean. Windows 7 64 bit. I use Webroot and that is temporarily disabled as I try to solve this.

Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. Since this feature was added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there still are a few glitches.
You might need to restart Firefox in order for this to take effect, so save all work first (e.g., mail you are composing, online documents you're editing, etc.).
    Then perform these steps:
*Click the orange Firefox button at the top left, then select the "Options" button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to Tools > Options.
*In the Firefox options window click the ''Advanced'' tab, then select "General".
*In the settings list, you should find the ''Use hardware acceleration when available'' checkbox. Uncheck this checkbox.
*Now, restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
Additionally, please check for updates for your graphics driver by following the steps mentioned in the following Knowledge base articles:
[[Troubleshoot extensions, themes and hardware acceleration issues to solve common Firefox problems]]
[[Upgrade your graphics drivers to use hardware acceleration and WebGL]]

  • Windows Update Causing CS6 Photoshop x64 to crash at "Measuring Memory"

    Hello,
This started on the 28th when we received a batch of Windows updates on our machines. The next day the eight users who have this installed are no longer able to open the 64 bit version of Photoshop. Each time it will get to "Measuring Memory" and then crash with no events in the Event Viewer. I have tried to remove the Windows updates manually with no luck. The only way to get it back to working is to do a System Restore. When doing some troubleshooting I discovered that if I use log in on the workstation that is crashing with my account then Photoshop 64 bit will open for me and get past the measuring memory. So I tried to figure out what relationship photoshop has with the users account and all I found was the users "Settings/Preferences". I had the user log back in and went to the location of that file and removed the 64 bit version. I then opened Photoshop back up and it created a new file but still crashed on measuring memory.
If you have other suggestions or knowledge of what else is tied to the users account. I should also mention that the 32 bit version works fine on the machine for all the users.
    Thank you for your help.

    Bump. Still looking for help.
I have tried to run all Windows updates and then uninstall and re install Adobe Photoshop both 32-bit and 64-bit. The system still crashes. In the event viewer I am getting this:

I have also updated the video card driver on this machine. Windows 7 Pro, Adobe CS6 Master Collection, 32 GB RAM, and Quadro K5000 video card.

  • Photoshop CS6 (cloud) crashes after auto Windows update

My Photoshop CS6 (cloud version and actiive) has started crashing as soon as I load an image.
This problem began after an auto update of Windows 7
It took several tries before the Windows update to work (got error message saying Windows could not install updates) until this morning when the update was successfully installed.  Now PS CS6 has stopped working. So far no other software affected (although I have lots of programs so I may not have had a problem with one I haven't used yet today)
    RR

Yes. I put them off, until I have some time to troubleshoot things, if all is not perfect. I might need to get a Project off the computer, and delivered, or just need a couple of spare hours to dink around.
I am big on updating, but on MY terms.
I have every program, that I can think of, set about the same way. Two biggest crashes that I have ever had were when Java updated, during a PS Save operation, and when Logitech's SetPoint updated during a program install. In both cases, I had just missed setting those programs' auto update, and the second one was truly catastrophic, and even my Norton Ghost could not save my bacon - took about 3 days, with a low-level reformat to get everything fixed. I mean it was a simple mouse driver update, for gosh sakes!
I do not want anything going on in the background, unless I direct it to do so, and I also search every program's options, when installed, to set updates to manual.
I have several issues with some of Windows' default settings, but know most pretty well, and know all that I must adjust, when installing a new OS. Some, like display of file extensions, are such second-nature for me, that in the forums, I forget that not everyone will have changed that, and some other settings.
Can't wait to see what Windows 8 will bring me...

In order to assist you, we will need the .DMP files to analyze what exactly occurred at the time of the crash, etc.
If you don't know where .DMP files are located, here's how to get to them:
    1. Navigate to the
    %systemroot%\Minidump folder.
    2. Copy any and
all DMP files in the Minidump folder to your Desktop and then zip up these files.
    3. Upload the zip
containing the .DMP files to Onedrive or a hosting site of your choice and paste in your reply. Prefered sites: Onedrive, Mediafire, Dropbox, etc. Nothing with wait-timers.
    4 (optional): The
type of .DMP files located in the Minidump folder are known as Small Memory Dumps. In %systemroot% there will be what is known as a Kernel-Dump (if your system is set to generate). It is labeled MEMORY.DMP. The difference between Small Memory Dumps and Kernel-Dumps
in the simplest definition is a Kernel-Dump contains much more
information at the time of the crash, therefore allowing further debugging of your issue. If your upload speed permits it, and you aren't going against any strict bandwidth and/or usage caps, etc, the Kernel-Dump is the best choice. Do note that Kernel-Dumps
are much larger in size due to containing
much more info, which is why I mentioned upload speed, etc.
If you are going to use Onedrive but don't know how to upload to it, please visit the following:
Upload photos and files to Onedrive.
Please note that any "cleaner" programs such as TuneUp Utilities, CCleaner, etc, by default will delete .DMP files upon
    use.
If your computer is not generating .DMP files, please do the following:
    1. Start > type
%systemroot% which should show the Windows folder, click on it. Once inside that folder, ensure there is a Minidump folder created. If not, CTRL-SHIFT-N to make a New Folder and name it Minidump.
    2. Windows key +
Pause key. This should bring up System. Click Advanced System Settings on the left > Advanced > Performance > Settings > Advanced > Ensure there's a check-mark for 'Automatically manage paging file size for all drives'.
    3. Windows key +
Pause key. This should bring up System. Click Advanced System Settings on the left > Advanced > Startup and Recovery > Settings > System Failure > ensure there is a check mark next to 'Write an event to the system log'.
Ensure Small Memory Dump is selected and ensure the path is %systemroot%\Minidump.
    4. Double check

Lets see whether this file APSDaemon.exe is the problem here.
    Close your iTunes.
Press Ctrl-Alt-Del key and choose Task Manager. In the "Processes" Tab, select the file APSDaemon.exe and click End Prosses button, then close the task manager window.
Now open itunes and see if it is working?

I have Photoshop 4.0.  I use Windows 7.  Photoshop keeps crashing.  Is there an update or a fix?  Thanks.

Is your windows 7 a 32 or 64 bit operating system?
Do you have the photoshop 4.01 update installed?
What is the size and free space of the drive that you installed ps 4 on?
How much ram does your computer have?
If you right click on the ps 4 shortcut and choose Run As Administrator, does that make a difference?
Under File>Preferences what are the settings under Plug-ins & Scratch Disk and Memory & Image Cache?
Sorry for all the questions, but ps 4 was made well before windows 7, so it's not as easy to tell what might be wrong.

  • Feb Windows Update Crashes IIS

Running Windows 2012 Server Standard. Running IIS 8 with MVC3. .NET 3.5 and .NET 4
Updated the Feb-18 updates and now IIS crashes as soon as first person connects to IIS (running HTTPS).
The exception is below. We updated 2 servers and they both had problem. We rolled back the windows updates on one server and that server works now. I have left the second server in screwed up state in case Microsoft has questions and needs more
    details.
    Thank,

  • T61 hard drive crashed due to Windows Updates

I posted in this forum a few months back about my hard drive crashing as a result of a windows update.  I can't find the the thread and it really contained some useful advice/instructions on steps I could take to troubleshoot and fix my problem.  If there is no way to restore the drive, I basically want to get the data off of that hard drive.  I don't know if I will be able to recover any of the software (which is depressing), but at least the data on the drive.  Is there any way to do this?  If so, could you post the steps?  BTW, I know NOTHING about how to do this, I'm a front-end coder.  Never built or done any serious trouble-shooting of a PC.
    (was) running Windows XP
    thanks!

    Hello,
I wonder if the file system on the hard disk drive migth have some corruption which is preventing it from booting up as it normally should.
See if you can boot the computer in Safe Mode with Command Prompt by repeatedly tapping the F8 key as it powers up.  From there, try running CHKDSK C: /F /R command (which may require a reboot and will likely take some time) and see if that fixes the issue.
