Windows update & store download error on proxy

i cannot update windows and it so some error. and i use the proxy server so i cannot to down load the apps . please help me to resolve it , please remember i know very few basics about computer

Hello muralitharan665,
Do you mean that you use the proxy in Internet Explorer and can’t download windows updates and store apps as normal?
Is this computer domain-joined or personal?
If the computer is domain-joined, we need to contact the IT department administrator and check if the attempt to manually install the Windows updates and store apps meet the policy.
Do you receive any error message when you use the Windows updates and try to download Windows store apps?
Please take the following steps for troubleshooting:
1. Check if we can normally visit the webpage without proxy
2. Go to Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Troubleshooting\All Categories, run Windows updates troubleshooter and share us the error message.
Best regards,

  • There was a problem updating InDesign CC For more information see the specific error below.  Update Failed Download error.  Press Retry to try again or contact customer support.(49)

Posted the entire text from the error window, when trying to update, using the normal NON-TECHIE way to update any and all Adobe CC products, via the Creative Cloud updater installed when Adobe Creative Cloud subscription was purchased when first offered.
    The following occurs, ad nauseam:
There was a problem updating InDesign CC
For more information see the specific error below.
    Update Failed
Download error.  Press Retry to try again or contact customer support.(49)
Here's the crux of my frustration:
    (1) Customer Service is NOT contact-able, to receive LIVE help.
    (2) There is NO way for me to mitigate this "Download error", being a student learning InDesign, and NOT in any way capable of tweaking folders/files here and there.
    Therefore, the real question:
Given that a significant number of subscribers are having the above referenced issue with attempting to download the current update for InDesign, WHAT ARE WE SUPPOSED TO DO, in order to get our contractually paid-for updates to our legally and contractually paid-for Adobe software, specifically in my case, InDesgin's current update?
Please, NO TECHNICAL mumbo-jumbo which most likely will cause the overwhelming majority of users, like me, to seriously corrupt their computer files, but rather an honest, straightforward "what to do" from real CS/Engineers working for Adobe, as to how to FIX this issue, period.
    ===========================================================
    UPDATE:
Here is a way in which I think I was able to "update" my InDesign CC application:
    (1) Sign-In to your Adobe Account
    https://www.adobe.com/
    (2) Click on the MENU icon
    (3) Click on the product InDesign icon
Your browser should display the page for Adobe InDesign CC
    https://www.adobe.com/products/indesign.html?promoid=KLXLU
    (4) Click on the Download icon,
Your browser should now display the page to download InDesign,
    https://creative.adobe.com/products/download/indesign
    (5) a Pop-Up window should open, and display:
      Launch Application
This link needs to be opened with an application.
with the first option to select being the CreativeCloud(URIHandler)
    (5) Select this application and click OK.
What happened when I followed steps (1) thorugh (5) is that:
    (a) InDesign CC(2014) was installed,
    (b) InDesign CC, updated, and then
    (c) InDesign CC(2014), also updated.
Why this all worked, is a mystery to me.
Looks like a separate, "new" version of InDesign, InDesign CC(2014), was installed, the existing "old" InDesign was updated, and then the newly installed Indesign CC(2014) was further updated.
A BIT MORE, when I launched my InDesign CC app, and checked to see if there were Updates Available, there in fact was an Adobe InDesign CC 64 bit (9.2.2) update.
I clicked on UPDATE and my "old" InDesign CC app was "successfully updated."
FURTHER INFO:  I may have neglected to list some important info ... OS:  Windows 8.1 Pro with Media Center, 64-bit
Confused, I am able to launch BOTH of these apps, and hopefully I may use one of these versions of the InDesign CC app, to do some InDesign work.
    Will keep y'all posted!

    Hi @SURAJITsaha ,
Thank you for visiting the HP Support Forums and Welcome. I have looked into your issue about your HP Pavilion 14-b049tu Sleekbook and issues with a Windows update.
Here is a link to the HP Support Assistant if you need it. Just download and run the application and it will help with the software and drivers on your system at the time of purchase.
Please note remove any and all USB devices. Disconnect all non-essential devices, as these could cause some issues.
Plug the power adapter directly into a functioning wall outlet. Do not plug it into a power strip, surge protector, or secondary power source as this could cause and issue.
You might have to temporarily disable your virus protection.
    Hope this helps.
    Thanks.

  • Can't get Windows update to download updates for other MS products

    Hi,
Installed W7 Home Premium on a single system and for one or another reason I cannot get Windows Update to download updates for other Microsoft products. MS Office University 365, MS Visual Studio Pro 2013 and Microsoft Expression are also installed on this
    system.
I click on Find Out More in the Windows Update page and IE 11 opens. It first goes to http://www.update.microsoft.com/microsoftupdate/v6/vistadefault.aspx?ln=en-au and then redirects to http://www.update.microsoft.com/windowsupdate/v6/thanks.aspx?ln=en&&thankspage=5
Here is a picture of the page:
As you can see there is no change settings button as described at http://windows.microsoft.com/en-au/windows/change-windows-update-installation-notification#1TC=windows-7 .There is no way I can change settings so updates for other MS products are also downloaded.
Firefox is my default browser; even if I load the link in Firefox I get the same result.
    Thanks,
    Imran

Don't use a web browser to do that. Since Vista, WindowsUpdates are no longer performed in a web browser, it's in Control Panel. (that's why the
www.update.microsoft.com web page is telling you to check Start Menu")
The Change Settings button, appears in the Windows Update applet in Control Panel.
Click "Start", and in the search box, type in: Windows Update. Or, look on Start Menu. Or go to Control Panel/System&Security/WindowsUpdate.

  • Update on download error.

It seems to just be whenever I go from a browser link to the quicktime page itself.
After I get to the Quicktime page, I can navigate off of it to other Apple pages... including the Downloads page.
Quicktime DOES seem to download from there, but it is the I-tunes download. Is that normal for it to be said file which is offered?
It still won't open on the download link that is located on the Quicktime homepage proper.

  • Issues starting Windows Update (Getting an Error message)

Hello, I have gotten a computer within the last 3 months and for that time everything was running fine. However, within the last day or two (after Windows installed an optional update) I have been having issues with opening "Windows Update". I
have googled the error message I am getting and most of the things are describing this same problem with windows media player, which I am not having the issue with. So far, I have tried clearing out my search history in the windows metro settings, cleaning
my registry, rebuilt my index, and doing an entire windows restore (which worked untill I re-installed the update) I am using Windows 8.1.
This is the error message I am getting: http://prntscr.com/582lj7
What happens is I search for windows update, click on it, then it does nothing then after a few minutes that error message pops up. Sometimes along with the windows update program, sometimes not. Often not, and then after a few good minutes a bunch of windows
update windows will pop up for each time I clicked it.
Lastly, I am also having a problem restarting my computer and I believe it may be tied to this issue it just stays at the restart screen for ever untill I manually hit the button to turn off the computer.
Do I need to do another system restore and this time don't install the update? Or, is there an easier fix to this problem?

This is the error message I am getting: http://prntscr.com/582lj7
    [}.settingcontent-ms  Server execution failed]
Here's one way to find what is not working:
    cd /d  %LocalAppData%\Packages
    dir/a/b/s  *.settingscontent-ms  |  find  "Classic_{36e"  |  clip
Then open a Notepad window and do a Ctrl-o Ctrl-v and Enter
Somehow I think the failure may have more to do with the program which "executes" the .settingcontent-ms  file extension...
    C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Packages>assoc .settingcontent-ms
    .settingcontent-ms=SettingContent
    C:\Users\Admin\AppData\Local\Packages>ftype SettingContent
File type 'SettingContent' not found or no open command associated with it.
    What a surprise!  OTOH consistency found in W8's continual obfuscation and unhelpfulness.  ; }
For a guess about something hopefully related that you could try see

  • Windows Update Service Disabled - Error 80070422

    Hi,
On Windows Vista Ultimate SP1, when I go to Windows Update I see a "Check For Updates" button. When I click it I get an 80070422 error and "Try Again" button which does not work.
I have tried all that is explained in Help on this error, but it's still not working. Let me write in more detail: I opened "Administrative Tools", went to "Services", "Windows Update" service is disabled. I set the "Startup Type" to "Automatic", click on Apply and then I click the "Start" button to start the service. I get an error: 1058: "Windows could not start the Windows Update service on Local Computer", "The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or because it has no enabled devices associated with it".
I downloaded "WindowsUpdateAgent30-x86.exe" and installed it, hoping that the problem will be fixed, but no luck.
I read somewhere on this forum that a user faced a similar problem and searched in "Windows\System32" for "wu*.*" files and changed the security settings for all of them to allow SYSTEM and Administrators full control and re-registered through "regsvr32" all of the .dll files, but, after doing all of these I still had no luck.
My Windows Update still displays the error 80070422 and when I try to start the Windows Update service I get the error that the service cannot be started and it always sets itself on "Disabled", no matter what I do.
Could someone please help me with this problem? I really don't know what else to do.

Have enabled Java in FireFox and everything seems fine, haven't touched Internet Explorer just to be on the safe side so I can't say anything about that, but everything looks allright. Seems this was the problem. Thanks again, mate, your post was a life saver.

  • What to do if Photoshop CC update gives download error repeatedly?

Creative Cloud tells me there are updates for many apps, including Photoshop CS6 and Photoshop CC (2014).  When I try to download them, others work fine, but the two Photoshops give a download error; retry does not help.  Error is marked (49).  What to try??

    What operating system?
With Windows, best practice is to restart your computer, open the Application Manager as Administrator (via right clicking) and install the updates.

I have SCCM 2012 SP1.   I have several templates setup, when deploying windows updates.
For Non-Critical systems,  updates are downloaded and installed.
for Critical \ Business Systems,  we have decided to push updates 2nd Saturday of each month.   However, it possible to push updates to clients,  stating that Updates are Available,  but not downloaded or installed ?     this
way,  the owner of the system can look in Software Center,   and see what updates are available and manually download and installed approved updates ?
    Thank you for you time...

    Hi,
If you deploy the software updates as "available" instead of "required" then the updates are available in the Software Center for selection and manual deployment instead of automatically install the updates.
