Windows updates gave me version of Firefox that does not allow me to have Text and Icon in Menu Bar, lost my autofill; how do I get old version back?
Windows updates this morning gave me a different firefox: the Customize box includes fewer choices. No Text and Icon, which I want. Also, this new version dropped my Autofill.
It wasn't Windows update that caused this, but Firefox automatic updates. It's the new Firefox 29 Australis, their attempt to look more like Chrome. They dramatically changed the UI, removing several features in the process. If the way it looks bothers you as much as it does others you can install Firefox 28 again by going here;

That of course does come with the risk of security exploits they fixed with 29, so beware of that. I also don't know if it will repair your auto fill or anything.
Otherwise if you don't mind the new look, keep using it.

We have been told by our timekeeping system provider that the latest versions of FireFox, Chrome and IE are not compatible with their websites at this time. Unfortunately, HTML5 is a large specification with a lot of parts that has been implemented in pieces over the course of several years. It would be really helpful if your vendor could indicate what EXACTLY is not compatible and then it could be researched. Otherwise, you'd have to use trial and error. Either way, you would end up with an older browser that isn't safe to run on the internet. It could be time to consider other vendors... -
I'm new to Firefox. I specifically went to an English download page and downloaded the latest Firefox in English. I installed it, and it automatically changed to Croatian, where I live, without any warning.
Then I searched for an option to change it back to English and didn't find it, so I uninstalled it and went back to an older version of Firefox, that I new was in English.
Now, of course, the program is warning me that there is un update, but I'm affraid to install it so that it doesn't automatically change to Croatian again.You may still have a Croatian language pack installed if you didn't uninstall a previously installed Croatian version and checked the Firefox program folder for remnant leftover files.

If you download the full en-US version and install that version then the language shouldn't change.

Install Firefox that does not update
Our company is moving to VDI (VMware View). In this process we would like to make Firefox our default browser. All of the users are not local admins, and therefore all updates end in errors.
Is it not possible to install a firefox that does not tjeck for updates? I beleve that this is a users specific setting, so when a user i assigned a mashine, this setting is set for the user. I need the firefox, not to update, for all users.I see you're using FIrefox ESR. If that Firefox doesn't have this functionality don't think there is another one that implements this.

Yes, due to Incomplete Software Update on your iPhone your Device is now in Recovery Mode and you cannot take a Backup now. But if you have taken a backup earlier then you can Restore that backup on your iPhone after you Reset your iPhone to Factory Settings.

firefox bookmark toolbar not allowing me to drag & drop website icons. I've gone into view and click on " bookmark toolbar". bookmark toolbar appears but its but its not allowing me to drag and drop the icon on the toolbar. i've tried everything that one is supposed to do but its not working. its frustrating.

‘iPad is disabled’ fix without resetting using iTunes
Today I met my match with an iPad that had a passcode entered too many times, resulting in it displaying the message ‘iPad is disabled – Connect to iTunes’. This was a student iPad and since they use Notability for most of their work there was a chance that her files were not all backed up to the cloud. I really wanted to just re-activate the iPad instead of totally resetting it back to our default image.
I reached out to my PLN on Twitter and had some help from a few people through retweets and a couple of clarification tweets. I love that so many are willing to help out so quickly. Through this I also learned that I look like Lt. Riker from Star Trek (thanks @FillineMachine).
Through some trial and error (and a little sheer luck), I was able to reactivate the iPad without loosing any data. Note, this will only work on the computer it last synced with. Here’s how:
1. Configurator is useless in reactivating a locked iPad. You will only be able to completely reformat the iPad using Configurator. If that’s ok with you, go for it – otherwise don’t waste your time trying to figure it out.
2. Open iTunes with the iPad disconnected.
3. Connect the iPad to the computer and wait for it to show up in the devices section in iTunes.
4. Click on the iPad name when it appears and you will be given the option to restore a backup or setup as a new iPad (since it is locked).
5. Click ‘Setup as new iPad’ and then click restore.
6. The iPad will start backing up before it does the full restore and sync. CANCEL THE BACKUP IMMEDIATELY. You do this by clicking the small x in the status window in iTunes.
7. When the backup cancels, it immediately starts syncing – cancel this as well using the same small x in the iTunes status window.
8. The first stage in the restore process unlocks the iPad, you are basically just canceling out the restore process as soon as it reactivates the iPad.
If done correctly, you will experience no data loss and the result will be a reactivated iPad. I have now tried this with about 5 iPads that were locked identically by students and each time it worked like a charm.

I have a Mac OS 10.6.8 server in my classroom that I have networked to student accounts on the iMacs in the room. How do I create a folder that allows studnts to place their finished assignments in it, but does not allow them to go in and remove anything from that folder?
You want a "Drop Box" style folder. You should be able to achieve this by creating a folder and giving it permissions similar to the "Drop Box" folder in your users Public Folder (i.e. write only permissions.)

I'm struggling with the following task:
I have to assure an account exists for a given resource. I do provision it with the .tcUserOperationsIntf.provisionObject().
I've created a createUser task to create the account.
The task code checks if there is already matching account.
If no account exists, is is created in the disabled state, and the object state of OIM account is set to 'Disabled' by means of task return code mapping.
If it exists, it is 'linked' to OIM account.
The problem is if the existing account is enabled, I have to change the OIM account state to 'Enabled' either.
To implement this (thanks, Kevin Pinski https://forums.oracle.com/thread/2564011 )) I've created an additional task 'Switch Enable' which is triggered by a special task return code. This task always succeeds, and its only side effect is switching the object status to 'Enabled'.

I am trying to stream via ESPNWatch but I get a message saying I have a popup blocker that does not allow the streaming to happen. I unchecked the pop up blocker box in the Safari preferences to no avail. Any ideas?
Might be a Safari extension...
From your Safari menu bar click Safari > Preferences then select the Extensions tab.
If there are any extensions installed, turn that OFF, then quit and relaunch Safari to test. -
