Windows Vista and QT Itunes

I had previously installed and ran iTunes, purchased a numb ero song titles. When the latest request for an update came to me I accepted it but ever since I have not been able to run ITunes. I have deleted it and re-downloaded it several times. Each time I get a message during the download "ITunes requires Quicktime". So I did the same with Quicktime. But I still am not able to run Quicktime it says "fatal error during installation". Does any of this make sense, kindly thankful for any suggestions.

No ReadyBoost in use here, unfortunately. I did find the following two items though:
http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305392
Bottom of this page claims that NVidia is investigating some issue with their SATA drivers, however ...
This is NVidia's reply indicating that there is no issue with their SATA drivers, and this has been reported back to Apple.
Now, I did find that when I put one of my video podcast files on the PATA drive, it appeared to play ok, but when I tried to play the .mov iPhone video from the PATA drive, it still had the same video issues, which tells me it has nothing to do with PATA vs SATA.

Your expectations are not based in reality.
Your G4 will not run iCloud. There will be no upgrade from Mobile Me to iCloud for you with that machine unless you do it manually, and only mail will work without further expenditure.

  • Windows Vista and iTunes downloads

I have a new computer with Windows Vista and downloaded iTunes on it. My previous music iTunes library works fine, but when I try to play a recently downloaded song, I get a message that I am not authorized to play it on this computer. What does that mean? I already tried reinstalling everything and it did not help. Any other ideas?
    Thanks!

I suggest you post your message in the "iTunes for Windows" forum found at <http://discussions.apple.com/category.jspa?categoryID=150>. It's a more appropriate place to find answers to your question.

    Hi Rick,
by "repair" I mean I went to the control panel, option - programs and features, and in the list of all my installed programs I selected "Apple Software Update". On top of the screen you find the options Uinstall, Change and Repair. I clicked the repair button and that did the trick. After the repair I could uninstall the program. I also uninstalled iTunes, Apple Application Support, Apple Mobile Device Support en Bonjour, thus all Apple programs. Then I installed iTunes 10.5 again and everything went fine.
    Success,

  • TS1717 I have been running Itunes on windows vista and recently loaded Itunes on my Lap top which runs on Windows 7.  When I try to play my music the Lap top only play sample music.  Any suggestions?

I have a desk top which has Windows Vista.  On this computer I have been running Itunes for a long time.  My new computer is a Lap top and it runs Windows 7.
I recently loaded Itune on the new computer. I attemted to use Easy Transfer to transfer my Music but was unable to connected the two computers so I transferred my music to a external hard drive and loaded the music on the new computer.  I have the folders and files carefully and they appear to match.  When I try to run Itunes on the new computer I am unable to access the new music.  Itune always goes to the sample music.  The only difference I can come up with is Windows Vista and Windows 7.  Does anyone have any suggestions?

    Hi,
Are you trying to use the Help -> Updates method?
Both those patches need to be manually applied to PSE 9.

  • Trying to install itunes on windows vista and get the following error message:

Trying to install itunes on windows vista and get the following error message: An error occurred during the installation of assembly "Microsoft.VC80.CRT,version="8.0.50727.4053",type="win32",publicKey Token="1fc8b3b9a1e3b",process orArchitecture="x86"". Please refer to Help and Support for more information. HRESULT: 0x80070424.

A broken Windows Modules Installer then. It's a bit of an involved fix getting past it, but we've had success here with it in the past.
First, I'd strongly suggest setting up a system restore point.
Now try the Scenario III treatment from the following document:
Windows Update Error 80070424 in Vista
Head back into Windows Update and attempt to get updates again. If they still fail, this time with an 8000FFFF error code, try the following Microsoft document:
    Windows Update error 8000FFFF
If you get Windows Updates flowing again, stock up on any you're behind on (restarting the PC when requested to do so). This may take some time and may have to be done in several batches, depending on how far you've fallen behind. Basically, keep going back to Windows Update until it stops offering you new updates.
After the updates have been installed, restart the PC one more time (in order to ensure that any pending installs requiring a restart have been resolved).
Now try another iTunes install. Does it go through without the 0x80070424 this time?

  • I have what I consider the best smart phone on the market, but I resently upgraded my Windows Vista PC to Windows 8 and my Itunes went away.  Is there anything that I did wrong or aren't the two compatible?

I have what I consider the best smart phone.  I recently upgraded my PC from Windows Vista to Windows 8 and my Itunes went away.  Did I do something wrong or aren't the two compatible?

If the update did not preserve all your Applications you may simply have to download iTunes again and instrall it on Windows 8.
There's nothing strange about an update not preserving installed Applications.

  • For the last 3 or 4 versions of iTunes, and continuing in 11.05, the site recognizes that I have a 64 bit OS (Windows Vista) and downloads the 64 bit version of setup.

For the last 3 or 4 versions of iTunes, and continuing in 11.05, the site recognizes that I have a 64 bit OS (Windows Vista) and downloads the 64 bit version of setup. Setup installs iTunes in the 32 bit application directory (Program Files x86) - it's not all that unusual to run a 32 bit app under a 64 bit OS - BUT whenever I connect any of my iPhones, I get an error message that say I cannot use the iPhone because the 64 bit version of iTunes is not installed.  The message then tells me to de-install iTunes and to install the 64 bit version.
Like I say, the 64 bit Setup version is selected for me, and it runs error-free, but I seem to have no control or ability to force the installation of a 64 bit iTunes app.  And all the iPhones are inoperative with the 32 bit version I have.  I have another PC, which I have held at an earlier iTunes release. Although it's a notebook, it's identical in every other way (OS & installed utilities and apps) to the desktop that has developed the problem, and my iPhones work fine with it, although iTunes on it is at the earlier release, and I have no intention of upgrading that version until I understand and have corrected the problem.
    Any ideas or suggustions?
    Thanks.

This iPhone cannot be used because the required software is not installed. Run the the iTunes installer to remove iTunes, then install the 64 bit version of iTunes.
That usually indicates that your Apple Mobile Device Support has not installed. That's also what is being shown by the diagnostics (the driver is there but the application isn't).
Let's try a standalone Apple Mobile Device Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of why it's not installing under normal conditions.
Download and save a copy of the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe) installer file to your hard drive:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Download and install the free trial version of WinRAR:
    http://www.rarlab.com/
Right-click the iTunesSetup.exe (or iTunes64setup.exe), and select "Extract to iTunesSetup" (or "Extract to iTunes64Setup"). WinRAR will expand the contents of the file into a folder called "iTunesSetup" (or "iTunes64Setup").
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi (or AppleMobileDeviceSupport64.msi) to do a standalone AMDS install.
(If it offers you the choice to remove or repair, choose "Remove", and if the uninstall goes through successfully, see if you can reinstall by doubleclicking the AppleMobileDeviceSupport.msi again.)
Does it install (or uninstall and then reinstall) properly for you?
If instead you get an error message during the install (or uninstall), let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)

  • I have windows vista  and can open itunes but cannot access store anymore it tries but stops like it's stuck no message comes up .I would be grateful of any help. thankyou

I have windows vista and can access my itune downloads but when I try to access the store it thinks about it and then stops - the bar is stuck halfway across.  I get no message come up.  Desperate to access the store but am at a loss what to do. I am a novice on the computer so an idiot's guide for me would be welcome.  many thanks, regards Lesley

I have taken it back to the Apple store genius bar, but they say they don't see anything wrong. Well unless you use it all day and experience the problems when they happen, you wont see anything wrong. But there are lots wrong with it. But this would be the same store as I purchased the phone. And they backed up my old Iphone 4, but were not able to get anything to load back onto my new phone. So, I lost pretty much everything. But over time, some of my contacts have started showing up, although i am still missing over 800 of them.

  • I installed iTunes update on my pc running windows vista and now it will not open. Error message MSVCR80.dll missing

I installed iTunes update on my pc running windows vista and now it will not open. Error message MSVCR80.dll missing???

First try updating to iTunes 11.1.5.5, using an installer downloaded from the Apple website:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
If you still get the errors after that, try the following user tip:

  • TS1717 On Windows Vista and tried several times to start up my iTunes, but keep getting 'application failed MSVCR80.dll error-7 (windows 126) is this an easy fix ...?

On Windows Vista and tried several times to start up my iTunes, but keep getting 'application failed MSVCR80.dll error-7 (windows 126) is this an easy fix ...?

Click here and follow the instructions. You may need to completely remove and reinstall iTunes and all related components, or run the process multiple times; this won't normally affect its library, but that should be backed up anyway.

I am trying to reinstall iTunes on my PC (Windows Vista) and the download stops just before completion with the following message: "The procedure entry port kCMByteStreamNotification_AvailabileLengthChanged could not be located in the dynamic link library Core Media.dll"  Also "error 127. Any suggestions?

Okay. Trouble at the "publishing production information" stage also suggests trouble with Apple Application Support.
Let's try a standalone Apple Application Support install. It still might not install, but fingers crossed any error messages will give us a better idea of the underlying cause of the issue.
Go into the folder and doubleclick the AppleApplicationSupport.msi to do a standalone AAS install.
Does it install properly for you? If so, does iTunes launch properly now?
If instead you get an error message during the install, let us know what it says. (Precise text, please.)
