Windows Vista compatibility

Hey guys, could anyone tell me if they have heard anything new regarding the statement of direction put out by Oracle stating tentative support for its Oracle 10g database on the Windows Vista editions by the 1st quarter of this year. We're already well into that period of time but there is no sign of a supported version yet. Kindly let me know if anyone's hit anything new on this issue.

Any search for 10g & Vista ends up at the Oracle Statement of Direction. This quite clearly states that 32-bit 10g R2 (not XE, already certified) should be certified by 1st Quarter Calendar Year 2007, i.e. last month.
Has anyone heard anything from Oracle explaining why this is delayed, and when it will actually happen ? Their silence is deafening !
It appears that the 10.2.0.3 patchset is required for the client to install, I expect there will be other patches as well.
TIA, Duncan

  • Windows Vista compatibility for Crviewer.DLL

Our Windows XP are installed CRVIEWER.DLL Crystal Viewer 11.5 (Version 11.5.8.826), I'd like to know does this DLL support Windows Vista, or need to upgrade to a newer DLL? Also, any known bug is this version?

I haven't seen many issues with Vista.I would think the viewer would be fine.

  • Photoshop and Windows Vista Compatibility

Will my Photoshop Elements 12 run on Windows Vista or do I have to upgrade?

I'm quite new to this game so what did you mean by "Service Pack 2?"
Right click 'Computer' on your desktop, and chose Properties.  Near the top of the panel that opens, you'll see Windows Vista.  If it does not say Service Pack 2 beneath that, use Windows update.
Or treat yourself to a new computer.  Anything would be better than something running Vista, and Photoshop would be so much nicer to use.

  • Windows Vista compatability Q

I am trying to open up an email attachment that I know is from the Microsoft Vista version of Excel. When I try to do so it tells me that the file is not a "recognizable format". Is this because of Vista? If so, is there any way I can fix this?

I take it you do not have Excel on your Macbook? (There is a Mac version of Microsoft Office that contains MS Word, Excel etc.) Without that you cannot open an Excel file, regardless of where it comes from. This has nothing to do with Vista.
If you do have Excel Mac installed, and the file still does not open, try saving the attachment to your desktop, then opening it from within Excel (File -> Open). Or you can Control click on the attachment, select "Open With" and point to Excel.

  • E-MU Windows Vista Compatibility Matrix and Timel

    Hey Folks,
here is the official timeline.. It looks like we still have to wait a while...
    http://www.emu.com/support/vista.asp

I'm afraid this is another case of "should stick with XP". I do quite a bit of techy work for a local studio and we faced similar issues a few years back with some 00 cards and XP, he stayed with Win2K until about 8 months ago in fact. Audio recording at a semi-pro level is still quite specialised (despite what the pretty boxes in PC?World would have you believe)?and you would be better going to an indipendant store than a high-street for a new system (XP is still very much available, but the high-street stores only want to push the newest and most shiny of things). Of course, if you purchased this new PC from a UK store who actually told you that it would work with all the software you mentioned, then you are well within your rights to return it as "unfit for purpose".

  • Zen Sleek / Vista Compatability Er

I've searched this forum and found only one post with an answer to the Zen Sleek / Windows Vista compatability problem
Its a good thing NO ONE gives a straight forward answer to the situation
all i'm looking for is a solution to this situation, my computer can see that I have an mp3 player connected, however I cant see any of the songs I have on it, through any program I use or anything
So how would I be able to manage songs with vista is my q?

What firmware is your Zen Sleek running? (Menu-> System-> Information)
It needs to have the PlaysForSure firmware so that Vista recognizes it as an MTP Device.
Check out the information on the Drivers for PlayForSure Zen Micro, Zen Sleek, Zen Touch or Zen Xtra on Windows98SE/Me/2000 sticky thread.
Unfortunately it's a bit rough upgrading firmware on Vista as there's a Catch-22: Vista won't recognize your device until the firmware is updated, but you can't update the firmware unless Vista recognizes your device. :|
The work-around is to update the firmare on an XP machine and then plug it into the Vista machine. MTP Devices are supposed to be supported by Vista, so it should recognize your Zen Sleek.
MicroSoft could have saved the world a lot of grief by having decent Legacy Device support, but that's another thread in itself.
    /hope that hel

  • HP solution center for window vista 32 bit and HP 6210

need to download Solution Center for HP office jet 6210 and Windows vista 32 bit. Any help would be appreciated.

    Hi mary1929,
HP Solution Center is the main software program that you use to control and maintain HP printers that use version 13 and 14 software. Your printer uses a version of software that came before version 13 and 14. I believe you have something called HP Director. HP introduced HP Solution Center to replace HP Director in 2004.
I did find a document that says you may be able to install software for Vista that includes Solution Center. Please take a look at the information in this document; HP Director and Windows Vista Compatibility. If you recently upgraded to Windows Vista, you will not be able to use HP Director. However, you might be able to upgrade to HP Solution Center in its place.
This might be the software you need; File name: AIO_CDB_Full_Non-Network_enu_NB.exe
I hope this helps. If this does resolve the issue please let me know, if you have any additional questions, don't hesitate to ask.

  • ITunes haets Windows Vista with a passion.

iTunes often crashes explorer.exe and causes BSODs on my Windows Vista computer. Also, for some reason, access to my iPod is denied and I can't open it like I could for a regular drive. Needless to say, this is VERY annoying.
I like Windows Vista so far, but it's compatibility problems are crippling.

I recently downloaded my ITunes library from my old Dell Laptop Inspiron 6000 with Windows XP OS to my new Dell Insprion 6400/E1505 with Windows Vista OS and found that all of my music transfered successfully but the ID tags and track information was transfered in a different order than the actual songs they are "tagged" to so that there is no compatability between a song title/artist/album name and the actual song playing (with the exception that it does tag the info to a different song within the same album just not in the same order). I'm having to go back and manually type-in the correct tag ID's for over 5400+ songs. Are you aware of any "quick fix" for my Windows Vista compatability problem?
My Windows Vista problem is when I try to rip music
to iTunes the process slows down and locks up....I
saw the article and spoke to Apple support....they
say a fix is here or near here....do you have any
    insight into this particular dilema?
Thanks for any help or direction

  • Compatibility with Windows Vista

    Hi,
On Windows Vista system, when try logging into a repository in MDM Console, get the following error
Error: u201CServer is no longer respondingu201D
Same time when we login into a repository in MDM Console on Windows XP, it works fine.
Luckily Data Manager, Import Manager and Syndicator works fine on Vista.
Is there some compatibility issues with MDM Console and Windows Vista?
    Please guide,
    Regards,
    Navendu Shirali

    Hi Navendu,
Me and my team are working on Windows Vista and our MDM Version is 5.5 SP06. There is absolutely no problem of the compatibility of Vista and MDM Console. All 4 GUI s are working fine.
You better check out some other setting of Console and that of your mounted Server. I dont think Windows Vista might be causing any issues.
    Thanks & Regards,

  • Compatibility issues between PS3.0 and Windows Vista

Have PS3 for Windows XP. Have had it a while and it wouldn't load on my old computer because the harddrive didn't have enough space.  Now trying to load it on to HP Pavilion bought last spring.  When I tried to load it, I got the error window with: compatibility issues with this software.  Windows didn't find a solution.  Went to adobe.com and tried update for PS3.0 which I thought should work.  it said 3.0.1.  Won't work.  What am I missing?  Am I missing anything?  Will Adobe work as I want it to work?  As it's supposed to work?

Well, it's not "supposed" to work in Vista. The earliest version of Elements that officially works in Vista is 5, with the special patch. However, some people have had success running earlier versions in XP compatibility mode.

  • Compatibility with Windows Vista Home Basic?

Does Fireworks work with Windows Vista Home Basic? Will it
    run on my OS?

I have Vista Home Premium and Fireworks CS3 works fine with
one exception. The bitmap editing tools are not compatible with
Aero. Copying an answer I wrote two days ago...
You can do one of two things. Turn off Aero completely or
have Vista disable Aero only when Fireworks is running.
    For the latter,
    1) go to where Fireworks is installed, usually
    C:\Program Files\Adobe\Adobe Fireworks CS3
    2) Right-click on Fireworks.exe and select Properties
    3) Select the the Compatibility tab
    4) Under Compatability mode label, select the checkbox for
Run this program in compatability mode for: and select Windows XP
(Service Pack 2) from the drop down box.
    5) Under the Settings label, check Disable desktop
    composition
    6) Click OK.
Now, when you start up Fireworks, your system will flicker as
Aero is disabled, but your bitmap tools will work. When you close
Fireworks, your system will flicker as Aero returns.

    in
    this thread
The post on 09/13/2008 by lallsopp claims that desktop
composition does not need to be disabled, but I find that my bitmap
tools do not work properly unless I do. You can try it both ways
and see what works for you.
