Windows Vista Home Hard Freeze

I am having issues with Boot Camp 3.1 using my MacBook white late '09,
and I had upgraded to 4gig ram when I purchased it from Apple Online Store.
I am using Mac OS X 10.6.2, and I had installed Windows Vista 32-bit Home Premium
on my Boot Camp partition. I installed the Boot Camp Drivers from my Snow Leopard DVD,
and did a Apple Software Update to Boot Camp 3.1 on my windows.
I installed Nvidia newest driver for 9M Series, 195.62 from Nvidia.com.
The problem is, I constantly get hard freezes when using my Windows Vista,
my mouse or anything couldn't move, and I had to hold the power button to shut it down.
I tried using Parallels 5.0, and it did not had the freezing issue.
I believe it's the Graphic Card driver as Parallels used it's own drivers,
and Nvidia drivers are used when on Boot Camp.
Can anyone give me links to a stable or fixed driver/solution?
I am really needing it for my school works...
Thanks in advance.

I also would like to know how you fixed the problem, as I am experiencing the same. I am getting very irritated since I have to use the Windows partition to use a program for my business.

  • Install error #1620 PrPro Windows Vista Home Premium

Install error 1620  when attempting to install CS4 "This installation package could not be opened"  (for each component of the software package).   Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit, Intel i7 processor.   Unable to install any components of PrPro.  This is after a clean install of Vista Home Premium (part number x12-24171-01)with discs provided by microsoft.

I would never install a new OS over the top of what is there... wipe/format the hard drive and install fresh
Also, if you have a 64bit computer with more than 4Gig of ram, think about the 64bit version of Win7
CS4 can't use more than about 3Gig of ram, but if the OS can use more to run better... that is what I would do
Just be aware that you should still run CS4 in WinXP compatibility mode, as I posted before
Also read the article below... I have NOT done this, but it seems to be an easy process

  • Hp pavillion a6500f product#KQ495AA-ABA windows vista - home premium 64 bit Won't boot

Hi - I cannot boot my desktop hp pavillion.  error message says put in an installation disk - don't have.  and also says file 32/boot missing or corrupt.  tried recovery group of three disks but doesn't do a thing????  Don't want to loose data what is best route to take?  thanks

    Hi xbill,
What is the exact message you have?
So far I understand you have a corrupted windows vista with an error message mentioning a missing or corrupted somthing32 file.
Your data should not be impacted at the moment (based on what you wrote).
What you may want to do at the moment is get a windows vista home premium 64 as it may be used to recover the missing/corrupted file(s).
An external hard drive to backup your files and finally a bootable CD to allow you to start your machine to backup your files.
But the first thing we need before we go any further is the exact error message.

  • Adobe Photoshop 7.0 on Windows Vista Home Premium

Today, I tried to install Photoshop 7.0 on my laptop with vista home premium. When Photoshop was almost installed, the setup said he was ready but the setup screen didn't went away. I closed the screen.
when I tried to open Photoshop then, the program starts normal but before you can do something there's a report saying: 'couldn't execute your request because of missing or invalid personalisation-information' (this is not perfect because I tried to translate it from dutch)
So, the program doesn't start. After this, I tried to remove Photoshop from the laptop but he says there's a log error and they can't remove Photoshop.
I have consequently a program that doesn't work and that I can't remove.
    Is there a solution?
When I installed Photoshop I used another name than the name of the computer, maybe vista doesn't accept this? Normally, you can do that, but I didn't do something like that on vista. If that's the problem, how can you change that name if the program doesn't start normally?
    thanks
    Michiel

  • Tx2120us, upgrade from Windows Vista Home Premium 64bit to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit

I wonder if there's anyone out there who has managed to sucessfully upgrade his/her HP tx2120us tablet PC from Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Ultimate or to do a fresh Windows 7 ultimate install on a HP tx2120us tablet PC.
I purchased a Windows 7 Ultimate 64bit edition AND a 320GB 7200rpm hard drive and started a fresh Windows 7 installation. After the installation was done, the network adapters fixed and wireless were working. I also managed to install the Audio drivers for the built in realtek audio adapter. Even the touchpad, touchscreen and pen seem to work but then I stopped after several attempts to install a suitable display driver for the NVIDIA G-Force video adapter. The resolution with my Vista OS is 1280 x 800 but the default Windows 7 OS only provides a generic 1064 x 768 resolution and not any download from HP could install a suitable NVIDIA driver for Windows 7.
As I stopped there I don't even know if there is a driver for the card reader or the Light Scribe DVD burner and whatever is buit in into this tx2120us.
I'd really very much appreciate if someone who had succeeded with the installation of Win 7 Ultimate 64bit on the tx2120us could provide me with working drivers or the links to them.
    thanks

  • Restarts at the windows vista home premium page

Im have a concern with my laptop. during the boot up process it goes through its normal functions until it gets to the windows vista home premium screen. Until once its done loading that screen my computer will automatically restart itself. and it will continue to do this everlasting loop of restarting itself once at that particular screen. has anyone experienced this problem or have any advice on how to fix it? your help would be greatly appreciated.

Okay we need some information first
What are the product number and Model number off the bottom of your Notebook?
    When did the issue begin?
Did you add any hardware or software?
Can you boot into the BIOS by tapping the "f10" key while booting up?
If so what is your BIOS version?
while in there go to the Diagnostic tab and run the hard-drive diag, it will run a short one then a long one.
we'll go from there, good luck

  • Windows Vista Home + iTunes = no DVD drives

I am a long time iTunes user, and have been having an issue with iTunes for the last little while. When I install iTunes (I'm on Windows Vista 32 bit, by the way), after the required restart, my DVD drives' icons disappear (I have 2 of them). I can see the DVD drives in the Device Manager, and they say they cannot start. The only I think I've had these problems since about iTunes 7.0, but I don't burn CDs that often, so I've really not felt too bad about it, except that my wife would like to do so. I've done the registry change where you remove the upper and lower filters, which corrects the drive issue, but then presents the seemingly inevitable Registry issue dialog box, without the option to burn CDs. Here are the steps I've done thus far to try to get my computer and iTunes to play nicely:
    1. Tried reenabling the UpperFilter for GearAspiWDM as described here: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305422
    2. Tried downloading new GEAR drivers from their website.
    3. Tried uninstalling Quicktime, and then installing it separately.
    4. Uninstalled my other music service software (SonicStage), and then reinstalling iTunes.
    5. Completely uninstalled iTunes, and then reinstalled it (a couple of iTunes versions ago).
    6. Tried uninstalling the non-functioning DVD drives in the device manager, and then scanning for hardware changes. When the UpperFilter was still present, this part failed. It passed after I removed the UpperFilter registry entry.
    Please help!
Edit: Here's my most recent diagnostic info (with Drives, without UpperFilters).

  • I can't synchronize my iPod's with my iTunes software (Windows Vista Home Premium) due to problems with the access authorization / rights for this operation

    Hi there,
I'd like to ask you something:
I'm trying to synchronize all my iPod's (I have as many as 4 iPods: 2 iPod touch a 8 GB each and 2 iPod classic a 160 GB each) with my iTunes software (Version 11.3.1 which is installed on a Windows PC (Windows Vista Home Premium)). Unfortunately, the iTunes software refuses to run the command "synchronize with the iPod connected" regarding each and every iPod I have. iTunes just declares:
Synchronizing is impossible because I wouldn't hold the access authorization / rights for this operation.
I uploaded the songs at issue to my iTunes folder from CD's (all songs are in AAC format now).
What is this access authorization, why was something like that invented and what can I do to get it?
How do I have to proceed in detail?
    What would it cost?
I am brand new here and have never ever made a post in any support community anywhere in the world in my life. Well, and I am not excessively knowledgeable about the particular computer or mac language but I know the very basics or can find out about them.
Anyways - can you help me please?
If you can't help me, who can do so?
It would be nice if you could answer me as soon as possible!
    Thank you guys

Yes, others have experienced the problem, a simple search of the forums would have revealed that and the simple solution.
Termporarily disable any security software on the computer.
