Further examination showed, that the problem lies in the expired digital signatures
of the MSI-s that clickonce tries to download.
Please see attached image Capture.PNG.
I also reported this bug to the Microsoft Connect: https://connect.microsoft.com/VisualStudio/feedback/details/1082242/clickonce-unable-to-install-localdb-2012-on-windows-vista-sp2
The problematic MSI-s shoud be signed again. Can I expect from Microsoft to resolve
this?
Hello,
Based on your description, it seems that this issue only occurs on  Windows Vista SP2, and I get that connect you shared and have helped to vote it.
I think that Microsoft engineers will evaluate them seriously and provide you better support. In addition, you can post the answer here once the issue is resolved.

  • Windows XP SP2 failing to install on new P35 Neo2

First post, so I hope I've got it all straight.. if not, bear with me :D
I've built a brand new rig (components in sig), everything is connected, and I try to install Windows XP with built-in SP2.  The installation is halting with the "Stop 0x0000007B" error.  I check that my optical drive is set to Master, so no problem there.  I'm using XP with built-in SP2, so that should deal with the problems I've read about concerning installing with earlier versions of XP.  All my components are connected and powered, and I can go to the BIOS setup without a problem.
    So I've got two questions:
1 - does the SATA port that the HDD is connected to matter?  I am not using a RAID setup, just one single SATA HDD.
2 - It seems like the way for me to go will be to use the floppy drive and F6 to install the drivers during the Windows setup... but on the CD that comes included with this motherboard, there are a TON of SATA-related drivers... which ones would I actually need?  From the driver download list here on the MSI site, there's a set of drivers explicitly for RAID, but none for just plain old SATA.
It seems that most of the threads here with SATA and fresh Windows install issues had their problems solved just by using an XP disk that has integrated SP2, but that doesn't seem to be the case for me :(
Thanks in advance to anybody who can offer some help!

    Multi-part fix for me:
    - Advice to switch to IDE mode from AHCI was good, but did not fix it.
    - I needed a Windows XP SP3 disk.
With both of those together, it's working!
    Thanks!

  • HT1923 iTunes on my Windows Vista has failed to update over several weeks. Attempting uninstal/reinstall according to iTunes support page. Will not uninstall 'Apple Mobile Device Support' - goes to 99% then progress bar unwinds completely. Tried rebooting

iTunes on my Windows Vista has failed to update over several weeks. Audio will not play out. Attempting uninstal/reinstall according to iTunes support page. Will not uninstall 'Apple Mobile Device Support' - goes to 99% then progress bar unwinds completely. Tried rebooting. Any clues??

    Hey petanque1,

    Resolution
Follow these steps to resolve the issue:
    Check for .dll files
    1. Go to C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes and C:\Program Files\iTunes and look for .dll files.
    2. If you find QTMovie.DLL, or any other .dll files, move them to the desktop.
    3. Reboot your computer.
Note: Depending on your operating system, you may only have one of the listed paths.
    Uninstall and reinstall iTunes
    1. Uninstall iTunes and all of its related components.
    2. Reboot your computer. If you can't uninstall a piece of Apple software, try using theMicrosoft Program Install and Uninstall Utility.
    3. Re-download and reinstall iTunes 11.1.4.

  • Problems mounting ISOs on Windows Vista SP2

I've been trying for the last few days to try to mount and ISO through Daemon Tools and Magic Disc to try to run a setup of a game. However, whenever I get into the autorun of the disc and click the setup button, all I get is a command prompt line for a split second and then nothing. I've tried mounting this disc on my PC running Windows Vista and it installed perfectly, no trouble at all. It also seems like Daemon Tools on my Mac is breaking some of the files, because on my MBP I noticed that some of the pictures are corrupt, but when I run it on my PC those pictures are fine and it's the same ISO file!
Does anyone know a remedy for this? I'm running Windows Vista SP2 on a 17" MBP Unibody 2.8GHz. Thank you!

If the above doesn’t do the trick entirely, then use the instructions in the following as it applies to the version of Windows you are using:
HT1925: Removing and Reinstalling iTunes for Windows XP
HT1923: Removing and reinstalling iTunes for Windows Vista, Windows 7, or Windows 8
You may be required to boot into safe mode to complete the folder deletion process.

  • CS-15 and Windows Vista SP2

    Hi,
I´m wondering if it is possible to connect to internet with the CS-15 usb modem when I´m using Windows Vista SP2? It hasn´t been any problem when installing the modem and it gets contact with the 3G net too.
The problem is that I can´t connect to internet. When I´m trying I get the message "No available connection profile". When I go to options/settings/connections in the Nokia Internet Modem software  there is the same "No available connection profile" message too. If I try to create a new profile I get the message: "The name is invalid: (connection name)"
I have tried every possible solution I have thought of and that I have find on different forums on Internet with no result. When I tried the modem on my parents computer with Windows 7 it worked just fine!
Because of all this I think that the CS-15 modem isn´t compatible with Windows Vista SP2. Does someone now if this is the case, and is there any update available to get it working with Windows Vista SP2? I have to get a solution soon because i just trying the modem out, and if I don´t get it working within a few days I have to return the modem back to the seller.
    Thanks,
    Moffa

Thanks for the head's up Walter.
Do we have any idea when 7 will be released?
Secondly, is there any known workaround? I've found some of the web that extended the FileSystemView, but when I attempted one of them, it kept *.lnk files from appearing the Drop Down menu, but if I clicked on one in the window of the chooser, it broke with the same error.
The only reason I ask for a work around, is my employeer is not the fastest about updating the JRE allowed on the network/machines, so I may be stuck with 1.6.0_22(b02) for a while.
    Again, thanks for the guidance.

  • HP Pavilion dv6 1133-ea Windows Vista SP2

So after install windows vista sp2, I have noticed that the sound has disappeared...all the drivers are installed! AND I really cannot see why the sound would not be there because the drivers and everything are fine...is it some sort of compatability problem?

    Hi,
    Try the following.
First, uninstall Skype and when this has completed, restart the notebook.
When windows has reloaded, download and reinstall the Chipset driver Here.
When the installation has finished, restart the notebook again.
Let windows fully load, then download the IDT Audio installer on the link below and save it to your Downloads folder.
    http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp45001-45500/sp45044.exe
When done, open windows Control Panel, open Device Manager and open up Sound, Video and Game Controllers.  Right click the IDT device and select Uninstall - you should also get a prompt to remove the current driver, tick the box to allow this and then proceed with the uninstall.
When complete, shut down the notebook, unplug the AC Adapter and then remove the battery.  Hold  down the Power button for 30 seconds.  Re-insert the battery, plug in the AC Adapter and start the notebook.
Let Windows fully load, then open your Downloads folder, right click on the IDT installer and select 'Run as Administrator' to start the installation.  When this has completed, restart the notebook again.
Reinstall Skype and see if the Mic now works Ok.

  • 3000Q 100 and Windows Vista SP2

Recently I installed Windows Vista SP2 on my 3000Q 100 desktop. However, after the installation there was an error at bootup.
0162 Configuration Error. Press F1 to change settings or F2 to use previous settings.
Pressing F2 allows me to enter into Vista, but the date will be reset to 1 January 2006 12.00 am. It is not pleasant having to change the date everytime I boot up.
I wanted to do a system restore, but I don't know how I managed to erase the system restore file before installing SP2. So system restore is not possible.
I uninstalled SP2, and now I have a new error:
098: Unauthorized change in BIOS detected. Press F1 to change settings or F2 to use previous settings.
Similarly, F2 allows me to go back to windows, but then the date resets again!
    Anyone can help?

Thanks for the head's up Walter.

  • Windows Vista Ultimate doesn't install on Satellite M40

Windows Vista Ultimate doesn't install on this notebook. Vista hangs after installation and doesn't boot up. Does anybody know what the problem is?

    Hello
As far as I know older units are not Vista supported. I believe it is not necessary to say why. Satellite M40 is older notebook model and definitely not Vista supported. Many newer WXP preinstalled notebooks are Vista supported but Toshiba has for each model designed new BIOS version and before installing Vista the BIOS update must be done at first.
I can imagine that new BIOS is needed for M40 too but as I said before this machine is not Vista supported. I am very interested if someone will report more about Vista on Satellite M40.

  • Poblem connecting CISCO anyconnect secure mobility client ver. 3.1.04 versus Windows VISTA SP2: Login denied

    Hi,
Suddenly I have this error with my client cisco AnnyConnect ver. 3.1.04063 connecting with my computer:windows vista SP2.
Message appeared: "Login denied. "name_company" security policies have rejected your login" and nothing else.
I tried to uninstall and reinstall the client annyconect ver.3.1.04063 but not success, the same message, I think it's a problem with my computer because my user id with other computer colleagues runs ok and I can authenticate perfectly.
Few days ago and always I have worked without problems then I don't know what happens...perhaps an automatically update of windows vista¿?
Anyone of you with similar issue or problem?
    Thanks in advance.

I have another computer with windows 8.1 and Cisco VPN Anyconnect version 3.1 works fine ! what is wrong with this computer. After a little bit of research I realised that this issue is from cisco hostscan. Interesting enough comp A(computer A) where vpn client works does not have cisco host csan folder in program files (x86). On this computer I did saw that folder and deleted it.
    I found the following information
C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Cisco\Cisco HostScan\lib has some sort of .libs for various antivirus.... I have AVG Antivirus 2015 and Spy Bot ...
I have attached log files, if anybody wants to investigate then you are more than happy to investigate. Happy to be of help in case if you need any further input.
    Tired of breaking my head...

  • Failed to install Windows Vista SP2 on iMac

I was trying to install Windows Vista on my iMac. In fact, I have successfully installed before but I deleted it because something wrong with it. However, the second time I installed was failed (Stuck at "Completing Installation") I tried 4 times and they were all the same. But the weirdest thing was I could install Windows Vista through Parallels Desktop. (but can't install it through boot camp)
I just thought of one problem
-I plugged in an external hard disk
    Would it be the problem?
Is there any method that can solve this problem?

    Hi,
I just thought of one problem
-I plugged in an external hard disk
    Would it be the problem?
It is most likely the cause of your problem.
During installation of Vista (and personally I do this with OSX system upgrades as well) it is advisable to disconnect all non-essential external devices, leaving only mouse, keyboard and, if neccessary, display connected.
SO, disconnected your external HD, use the BootCamp Assistant to revert the partitioning back to a single-OSX volume and start again.
After reverting back you should restart your Mac.
    Hope it helps
    Stefan

  • Windows Vista Installation Failed. Error Restart Loop After Install.

I made it as far as the end of Step 2: Partition for Windows Vista -> Format -> Install -> Restart
Note: Partition size = 45 GB. Apple USB keyboard and mouse worked fine.
    The install process was stuck in a loop at this point. After restart the screen was black for about 5 minutes. Disc made noise off and on but no screen input. Then it finally restarted. Next screen had error info and a choice to continue. After that a "Install Windows" error msg appeared;
+"The computer restarted unexpectedly or encountered an unexpected error. Windows installation cannot proceed. To install Windows, click "OK" to restart the computer and then restart the installation."+
Clicking "OK" resulted in the same error msg. along with +"Press any key to boot from disc"+. No success attempting to start up from Windows partition. or disc. Restarted to Mac HD. There is a "Untitled" drive on the Desktop. It contains multiple folders (11 GB). I tried to restart from this drive w/o Windows disc and it returned to the previous error msg.
Next I tried restarting w/ Option key, inserting Windows disc, clicking on arrow under disc icon and quickly pressing any key. This brought up +"Windows Boot Manager Window"+. The only choice was; +"Windows set up [EMS Enabled]. To specify an advanced option for this choice, press F8. Tools: Windows memory diagnostic.+" None of the key choices (Enter, Tab, Esc) responded. Disc would not eject.
Booted to Mac HD. Ejected disc w/ mouse. Used Boot Camp to restore partition. After restart screen is black with; +"No bootable device -- insert boot disc and press any key".+ Then I power down/on with Option key. Only Mac HD is displayed. Log into Admin. Mac HD looks fine. Run Disk Utility to verify disk/volume. OK. Also ran TechTool Deluxe. Passed. Open System Preferences, check that Mac HD Startup Disk is highlighted. Restart. OK now.
What is going on? I was quite confident this would install without any problem since I was using the latest OS X 10.5.6 and Windows Vista Business (early version). Could that be the cause? I had no problem installing it under VMware Fusion 2 (downloaded updates), worked flawlessly. If I can't get this to work then I have to go back to a PC for ACAD. HELP!!
Can I get Apple Support for this issue (Phone only, or Genius Bar)? I have AppleCare.

Your problem sounds somewhat like mine, although not exactly. In my case it seems as if my CD/DVD drive didn't like the hologram on my Windows XP install CD. I solved this by using Disk Utility to make a disk image of the Windows DVD and then burning the disk image onto a new DVD with an opaque "label". That solved that problem.
A further problem occurred after that. When I got to the screen that told me to hit "Enter" to start the installation process my keyboard was unresponsive. I solved this by buying a cheap Windows keyboard. That solved that problem and I now have Windows XP running just fine.
I think that you'll find that Apple tech support isn't very responsive to these sort of problems. I don't have Apple Care but was willing to pay my $49 for tech support. I ended up talking to a "Boot Camp specialist". He was polite but told me that it was "a windows problem" and that Apple didn't support Windows. I agree that Apple can't support windows but it seemed like my two problems were "Mac problems". Anyway, after tearing my hair out for 4 days I finally got it done. I have to admit that I'm not happy with apple tech support.

  • T-500 running Windows Vista - Error trying to install Service Pack 2

I just spent my entire Saturday trying unsuccessfully to install SP2 for Windows Vista on my T-500.  My laptop has Vista Home Premium as the OS and is fully patched with SP1.
The message I get is "Error_not_found (0x80070490)"  when I try to install SP2
I ran SFC /Scannow and got a message that there are corrupt components and a direction to C:\Windows\Logs\CBS that has a huge file I cannot comprehend.
I also ran the "System Update Readiness Tool" prior to trying to install SP2 with no apparent effect.
I have tried various approaches to this such as running System Restore and reapplying everything  with reboots in-between.
I confirmed no spyware and also disabled my antivirus program (NOD) during updates with no effect.
Has anyone else out there had a similar problem who might be able to offer advice?
    Thanks,
    The Hoy

Are you sure you have the proper file downloaded for your system? x86 if you are running 32bit Vista and x64 if 64bit.
Other than that, you might try to use Windows Update. Note that you need to install all updates, possibly including IE8 before Windows Update will offer you SP2.
You might also try installing all updates from Windows Update and then running your stand alone SP2 installer, to see if that solves the problem.
