I've mostly seen that show up on XP systems to date.
Some systems aren't liking the 4.0.0.3207 version of the dll that comes with Apple Application Support version 1.5. One workaround has been to swap out the dll for the version 4.0.0.3205 that came with Apple Application Support version 1.4.1.
Ona Vista system, we might be able to find a shadow copy of the relevant version of the dll and revert to that.
*If you have any version of Vista other than Home Premium:*
In Computer, open Local Disk C:\ or whichever drive you have your program files installed on.
Open the "Program Files" folder.
Open the "Common Files" folder.
Open the "Apple" folder.
Open the "Apple Application Support" folder.
Right-click on the icuuc40.dll file and select "Properties".
Go into the "Previous versions" tab. Wait for it to search for previous versions.
Is there a version 4.0.0.3205 available? If so, revert to that. With the 4.0.0.3205 in place, can you launch itunes now?
*If you have Vista Home Premium:*
Although Vista Home Premium takes shadow copies of files, it doesn't include a user interface for accessing them. So we can't use the previous versions tab method to get access to them. However, you could use a utility like ShadowExplorer to look for a version 4.0.0.3205 of the dll and replace the dll using that.

Tried installing Windows Vista, cancelled install and now it won't boot from the OEM Vista DVD, all i get is BOOTMGR is missing error... Ctrl Alt Del to restart and when i turn the computer on i get a blank screen and pressing C is not working to boot....

My friend started a installation of Windows Vista, but pulled out after deleting all partitions...
So now i power it on, get a blank screen (seems a bit gray because of backlighting, should show the apple logo right?)...
Then after like 15-20sec it will throw out a:

I have a OEM Windows Vista DVD in the drive, and i know... Windows 7 is better... but i'm not that fond of stealing software from Microsoft and i have 10 licenses for Vista...

Deleting Boot Camp partitions the conventional way will not work . You must use the Boot Camp Assistant to remove a Boot Camp partition. Here is a link to the guide.

The way to restart is to hold down the option/alt key during startup* and then selecting the Mac OS. If you have a valid Boot Camp install of Windows it would show up during this type of start up.
* hold down immediately after pressing the power button and until the OS choice screen appears.
To summarize.
1 Use the above method to boot into Mac OS.
2 Download the instructions and read them.
3 Use Boot Camp Assistant to remove the partition.
4 Pick your friends more carefully.

Just finally called Apple and talked with representative, very nice. Said she had been getting this question all day. She told me to connect a micro usb cable (don't have one, on my way to buy one) from apple tv to laptop and connect itunes. Needs to be factory reset and then start again. Hope this works. All I wanted was Apple Radio.

Bluescreen reads "device driver stuck in continuous loop"

I have no knowledge of computers at all. I have had my laptop for about 18 months I purchased it new online while living in London and it has had this problem basically from the beginning but I was slack and didnt try to get it fixed on warrantee.
It will turn on and work for a random period of time (sometimes 10 mins and sometimes 2 hours) then suddenly the screen goes blue and it reads a lot of numbers (I can get these and write them if required) and states "device driver stuck in a continuous loop beginning dump of physical memory, contact manufacturer for update on device. . . ."
I have no idea what this means or what I should do/who I should ask etc.
Can anyone advise me please?

Its not easy to say what is wrong.
First of all, which notebook do you have exactly?
In your position, I would first check the RAM. There are some special tools and I do this always with Memtest86.
You can download an ISO image to burn it on a CD from [www.memtest86.com]
Boot from CD and test your RAM, maybe you will get some errors.
You can also reinstall Windows with the recovery disk. It could be a software or driver issue.
If you have more questions, I will try to help you.

Hi, My pc running Vista crashed - memory dump blue screen - total failure to reboot. I retrieved all the directories I had data in and the Firefox program directory from the hard drive. I want to see if I can now retrieve the bookmarks from this directory structure so that they can be brought back into my new version of Firefox. Is there a file or directory which holds the bookmark details? There is an install file with the following details:

I think my problem is a little bit different than everyone else's. My phone is stuck on recovery mode, and is not being detected by itunes. Whenever I plug it in the appropriate device sound chimes in, with the "new hardware needs to be installed prompt." However, the ipod is named " Apple Mobile Device(Recovery Mode )." Any suggestions? Well, had to drive over to my parent's house to use the Mac over there. Plugged in my brick of an iphone and it was reset using their itunes!! Came back to my computer, uninstalled "Apple Mobile Device" under device manager and then had to reinstall it via Add New Hardware. The phone sync'd up with my itunes and restored all of my apps and contacts, and is running 4.0. Now to see what other problems I encounter with this stupid update....

Tried to upgrade 3G to 4.0 now stuck in startup loop

I tried to update my iPhone 3G 8MB to OS 4. It all seemed to work until the last restart of my phone. Now it only shows the black screen with the apple logo and eventually an empty bar underneath - then cycles back to just the logo.
I've tried connecting it to 2 PC's but get an error connecting as if iTunes can't see the iPhone. Resetting the phone doesn't help.
Any ideas ??

Same here! Got the same problem. At first iTunes does recognize the phone, tries verifying and then it stops. I can't use the phone right now. Anyone with a solution, please?
