I purchased Adobe Elements 12 download for Windows platform. If I also want to install on my Mac, will I need to purchase a separate $80 download for Mac platform?

The boxed product is multi-platform and comes with two DVD/CD-ROMs. Adobe normally permits returns within 30 days of purchase; so try to get the product exchanged and then you can run on both.

As long as your license supports both platforms you should only have to download the Mac version and install/activate using your serial number. If you need help finding a link to download the file, please indicate the PSE version you need.

Website Error: Windows & Mac Download Links Switched

When downloading the Windows version of Adobe Digital Editions, I discovered that the Mac and Windows links are switched. Clicking the Windows link will download a .dmg, while the Mac link will download a .exe. I figured it out, but I thought you should know in order to fix your website.

Yes, you can do it. You will need to download 10.3.9 Combo Update. After that is up and running on your computer, I suggest that you run Software Update in Apple Menu > Software Update to be sure that you get any updates after the Combo was released. You can burn the downloaded Combo update to CD or just drag it to a USB jump drive.

I downloaded Photoshop Elements from a 3rd party:ThinkEdu.com. The option to select operational device never appeared so the Windows version automatically downloaded on my Mac. Of course it doesn't work. Their support center sent me to adobe for help. I don't know what to do!

With Creative Cloud are you able to download apps to both Windows and Mac?

I'm not sure whether on 1 subscription you can download to Windows and Mac, or whether you have to buy Creative Cloud for each of these individually??

To find out how much space you have & what is left, open up Disk Utility/Machintosh HD/First Aid. The info will be at the bottom of the window.
Sluggish Finder - Bunch of icons on your desktop? An overcrowded desktop slows down your Mac.
Get rid of needless Finder calculations - Open a window in Finder/View/Show View Options: ensure "Calculate All Sizes" option is unchecked.
Internet related - It's likely that your broadband connection is the bottleneck. You can check your speed on http://www.speedtest.net to see how fast your connection is. If your web browser specifically performs slowly, quit and relaunch it.
If browser remains sluggish, empty its cache.
Safari/Empty Cache
Firefox/Preferences - select the Network tab of the Advanced preferences and click the "Clear Now" button in the "Offline Storage" area.
Application related - Launch "Activity Monitor" - Applications/Utilities - click the CPU heading and see what float to the top. If an application takes up a large chunk of CPU and won't let it go, it could be dragging down your Mac's performance. Quit it by clicking the Quit Process button at the top of the Activity Monitor window.
Too little ram - max out your ram.
Solution may be found if you search in the "More Like This" section over in the right column.

Not sure what you are saying. You can install and activate on 2 systems, but generally standalone installs have platform-specific serials and can only be installed eitehr on Windows or Mac, not both. However, your description seems to indicate a TLP volume license, so that would be possible.

How to use an external drive for windows and mac

I recently got an external hard drive (2 TB seagate expansion) and I need to be able to use it with both my mac and my windows computer. I have read numerous forums and tried downloading various third party programs but nothing seems to work! One of the things i have read was to create a partition on the drive, this is easy enough and i did try it so i do have one side i can add stuff from from windows and one side i can add stuff to from my mac but then i cant access the other side. So say i need to get a file from my mac to my windows. I add a file to the mac side of the partition from my mac but then when i plug it into windows i cant retrieve that because its on the mac side of the partition (and vis versa). Is there some sort of easy way around this? or some way in which i can format the drive where i can move files back and forth from windows to mac without any expensive third party programs?

PS. I did notice when i originally got the hard drive i had a bunch of files on it that were added from windows. When i plugged it into my mac i could see and copy these files but i could not add new files. Is there anyway to get around this "read only" type formate if i were to reset my drive back to its factory settings?

Three ways to go;
Repartiton the drive (1 partition) as MBR and with FAT32 file system. This is readable and writable by both Mac and Windows, but has a file size limit (which I think is 4GB).
The alternative is to leave the drive formatted as NTFS for Windows (this is not normally writeable from Mac) and employ a third-party software application which can write to NTFS. NTFS-3G, Paragons NTFS for Mac and Tuxera NTFS have all been recommended elsewhere.
Or you can repartition as GUID with HFS+ (Mac OS Extended Journalled) file system. This would not normally be accesible to the Windows machine, but once again there is 3rd-party softwsre available to enable Windows to read and write to it. MacDrive is the only one I'm aware of, but there are probably others.

I am looking to purchase windows for my mac just for gaming and i was wondering how installing works.
When i run boot camp will it format my entire hard drive (ie delete all my mac stuff) or just partition part or my hard drive?
Ive read to install windows i need an 8GB memory stick, is this true? can it be an external hd?
After boot camp is installed and windows is running, what partition are games installed on? is it the windows partition? if so will it need a larger partition or can i download and run games on an external hard drive?
also can i access my mac files (mp3's, videos ect) in windows?

To install Windows with Boot Camp, you will have to open Boot Camp Assistant, in /Applications/Utilities. This application will guide you through the process of downloading the Windows support software, creating a USB drive with Windows (if you need it and your Mac didn't come with optical drive) and partitioning the hard disk to install Windows.
Boot Camp creates a second partition to install Windows, so it won't format the hard disk. However, you must be very careful during the installation, because if you do something wrong, you will lose everything. Make a backup of your files.
You can install Windows through a USB drive (you need a ISO image with Windows, that you can get if you have purchased Windows as a download) or a DVD (the copy you can buy at any shop).
After having installed Windows, Windows games will be installed in the Windows volume because Windows won't be able to write in your Mac OS X volume. Some games may let you install them in an external drive.
After installing the Windows support software, you will be able to access to your Mac OS X volume, so you can read your files but you can't write into the Mac OS X volume.

I have a registered copy of Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro for Windows and now use iMac (no CD Rom so require download) & Macbook Pro, since early 2013. How might I acquire a compatible upgrade, so as to continue to use my Acrobat Pro on my new machines? I have my Acrobat 9 Pro Serial Number.
I also pay a monthly Photoshop Creative Cloud subscription which is current to May 24 2014 - 2 months left until end of my 12 month contract.
Would appreciate any advice.

Purchased Abobe Master Collection CS5 in 2010 and had been using Windows as an operating system since but I'm about to make the switch to OSX. However the download package and serial numbers I purchased are for windows, can I switch to mac download packages and will my serial numbers work for them?

well i have got a macbook pro late 2006 2.33ghz core 2 duo i installed windows 7 on it via boot camp but i cant fin dany drivers in mac osx lion in boot camp it has an option to download drivers but it says it cant find them on a server message so i a stuck i dont have any original disks with came ewith my macbook pro where can i download boot camp for windows
