Windows will not start on my NB100

I think my nb100 has become infected with a virus. It was doing some strange virus scan and I could get it to do nothing else. I turned it off and now Windows will not start. I have tried all the option; safe mode, safe mode with command prompt etc. but nothing works. I cannot run the product recovery disk because this netbook does not have a cd drive. Can anyone help?

> . How do I make a bootable USB drive?
You can make a bootable usb drive in 2 ways:
1. Manually with command prompts
http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=53324&tstart=60
2 Automatically using programs like WinSetupFromUSB or Novicorp WinToFlash

    Hello.
the  iPhone Configuration Utility 3.6 for Windows will not start up/load anymore.
It worked fine at first, then I tried to start it up today and I got an error:
failed to create an ipc port access is denied
Now there is no message at all. Just wont launch.
I find NO support at Apple. I have seen about 20 other cries for help on these forums and no seems to have received any help for this. Does anyone know how to get this Utility working?
I am using Windows XP SP3
I have tried upgrdading to .NET 4 SP1 from .NET 3.5 SP1 and that didnt work so went back the other way and still no change.
I tried completely uninstalling and deleting all references in Regedit and reinstalling from the start about 4 times.
I tried completely uninstalling and then going back to an older version (2.2) and it doesn't work either.
Unfortunately there is no help on Apply that I can find and trying to find an -actual email support for Apple software or products is a joke- (man, nothing is more aggravating when you need product help and the provider hides or completely does away with any way to contact them for help ro sends you on an hour long search for it...)
I need to get this working as I am providing an easy iphone configure for my VPN service. Can anyone help?

  • Trying to install firefox crashed my system and windows will not start, (only BSOD) what should I do?

    I went to www.firefox.com
    I downloaded the software
I went to my downloads file and double clicked to install firefox
The file disappeared from the downloads folder and I got the blue screen of death. and my machine crashed
Windows will not start anymore and keeps reverting to BSOD but I cannot read the failure code because the screen changes too quickly
I'm sending this from another machine

Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from the following page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):
    http://majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=4459
To install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any Bonjour entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another install. Does it go through this time?

  • Windows will not start and cannot be reinstalled

I have a 300GB Win 7 partition on disk 2 on my Mac Pro (set up using Bootcamp) that was running fine until a few days ago.  There were some "critical updates" that Windows installed, followed by a restart.  Now, it simply refuses to start.  When I boot into the Apple drive (disk 1), I get a message in OS X saying that the volume did not mount correctly; interestingly enough, another NTFS partition (used for data only) on drive 3 is also reported as unmountable.
    I tried the following:
    1.  Reformatted drive 2 as one partition with Bootcamp and started a fresh installation of Windows - it failed by not allowing the Windows installer to run (hangs up after the logo).
    2.  Reformatted drive 2 as one partition and restored a previously good image of the drive using Winclone.  It verified correctly and mounted properly in OS X (I can view the files).  However after I restart and select the Windows HD to boot, it shows the green bars upon Windows start and then hangs up with a black screen.
    3.  Booting up with the Windows 7 Recovery disc to attempt repair.  It failed with an error: unable to repair - contact Administrator.
    4.  Booting up with the Windows 7 Recovery disc to restore using an image created with Windows 7.  The operation was successful, but the restored partition still hangs up in the same place.
In short, Windows won't start up and I can't reinstall it either!
I can't help but think there is something wrong outside of the NTFS partitions (boot partition?), somewhere in the OS X partition.  Is there a "secret" Bootcamp partition/file that could be corrupted and cause this? Can anyone help me troubleshoot this?

OS X has its own read-only NTFS.
Which version of OS X? and I was trying to find if you installed 3rd party NTFS driver for OS X? some don't work, and need to be upgraded too.
Mac has EFI and if you use Alt or Option it doesn't have abilty to mount or modify but it does 'peek' for valid boot volumes.
Windows 7 - normally you will have 100MB partition (with 32MB used) which is actually where/what Windows boots from.
Install of Windows w/o BCA and w/o OS X being present avoids any conflict, but very often OS X's control panel for Startup Disk won't see Windows. Boot Camp control panel in Windows though always works for seeing both.
I think just the process of setting the default OS could mess up something, and that is the only place or time.
I don't have Lion. Maybe at some point. Intrigued with Parallels 7 support too.
Some people use to have a Recovery disc instead of an installer. I assumed that was what you had rather than the one you burned. Is that WinRE? Paragon has updated theirs to  WinRE 3.0.
While Windows 7 is running and updated, did you install any Apple drivers, and if so, which? is this 3.0 thru 3.3? there seems to be trouble with 3.0 and 3.3, so 3.2 seems best. If Lion then 4.0 (and with the live download the issues that another Mac Pro owner had the first week Lion came out trying to use 4.0 was just a disaster and he went back to 3.2. Lately, it 'seems' that BC 4.01 drivers in Windows are okay or safe to use.  Thanks to the public testing guys! sorry had to put you through that I guess?
So between steps  #2 and #3 was Boot Camp drivers installed? they are helpful but not 100% essential, but does add a timesynch and osswitcher to Windows which are.  The rest of it.... iffy.
AppleHFS for Windows was buggy and one of the reasons for 3.1 and 3.2, or using Paragon HFS driver for Windows which is what I use and how I access HFS drives and works fine. And they have had a solid NTFS driver for OS X, but may want to check and Google for - some had trouble it seems, and any driver needs to be retuned for Lion or any OS update sadly.

  • HP Windows will not start up HELP !!!

I have my HP laptop (Windows Vista 32-bit) since 2 yrs ago, I used to format it myself, then once it failed to recover using Recovery Manager and Windows couldn't start...
I sent it to a foolish PC repairer, he removed recovery partition, he changed the Windows Vista into Windows 7 (64-bit), it was awful... nothing functioned any good...
then I sent it to a good company (not HP Company, cuz I'm from Lebanon and I'm not sure if there's a branch for them in here)
they replaced the BIOS (I think) of my laptop by the BIOS of another laptop (same product), to save time of Installation of Windows and Fixing the whole situation...
however it's Vista 64-bit; recovery partition is back but not protected, drivers are working properly but not as they used to be, but Recovery Manager DOES NOT WORK (32-bit, even after downloading the software Recovery Manager for Vista 64-bit, it couldnt be installed)...
I wanted to fix the TouchPad scroll (Synaptics) by removing its driver, so I restarted the laptop and it won't start up back again... (THIS IS THE PROBLEM)
it says: Windows Fails to Start, in a black screen...
& it says: Insert Windows Installations discs and gives instructions... Info: The boot selection failed because a required device is inaccesible
I have Recovery discs that I made myself but they won't work, I press F11 on start-up and it shows me the same screen as described above
I can't make order any recovery discs cuz I didn't find an option for that, Lebanon was not mentioned in the countries, in which I can order the correct recovery discs)
Any suggestions to have my old laptop things back or at least the new laptop things back?
such as downloading recovery software, and burning it on discs? If so, give some direct links please
I changed order of bootup from HDD to CD/DVD ROM but things didn't work
or perhaps I should send it back to that company... the things in Lebanon are awful...
I know the post is large but please I need HELP !!!
    THANKS !

    Hi,
This process will allow you to make a Vista Repair Disc. This is not an installation disc but will allow you to use the Vista Recovery Console that is available on retail versions of Vista.
Download the file on the link below.  Make sure you download the correct version.
    Vista 32 bit
    Vista 64 bit
This is a zipped file.  If you don't have an extraction utility installed, download and install 7-Zip, when installed, right click the zipped folder, select Extract Files and then click Ok.  You should now see another folder containing the ISO file.
You will need software to burn the ISO to a CD.  If you don't have this type on software installed, download and install ImgBurn and use this to burn the ISO to a CD.
Once you have created the Vista Repair Disc, follow the guide on the link below to see if this will repair your installation.

  • Installed windows 10 hyper-v windows will not start

I went into the control panel on Windows 10 and enabled Hyper-V,  Now the machine will not boot.  Any ideas?

    1. Which build you have installed ? 10041 or 10049.
    2. If it is 10049.................
Hyper-V won't work if you try to install Hyper-V
    AFTER 10049 was installed.
Hyper-V will continue to work if you already have Hyper-V
    BEFORE 10049 was installed.
    Excerpt :
UPDATE: You cannot enable Hyper-V on this build. If you have Hyper-V already enabled and you upgrade to this build, Hyper-V will continue to work.
    http://blogs.windows.com/bloggingwindows/2015/03/30/windows-10-technical-preview-build-10049-now-available/
    A workaround:
If you were on 10041 before, revert back to 10041. Install Hyper-V , then upgrade back to 10049.

  • ITunes for Windows will not start

I recently did a complete system restore and as part of my restore, downloaded a up-to-date copy of iTunes and installed it. The problem arises when I try to start the application. I don't get a Windows error message as one might expect. Instead I get the Windows request box asking whether or not I wish to submit the problem to Microsoft. Regardless of which option I chose, the box eventually disappears but no iTunes!!
I've tried uninstalling then reinstalling iTunes as well as clearing all traces of iTunes from my registery/computer files then reinstalling but to no avail. How can I get a clean install of iTunes that will actually run??
    Thanks -- Rockey
P.S. Once I get iTunes successfully installed and plug in my iPOD, will all the music on my iPOD be automatically erased?? In my recent restore I did loose all my computer-based music files.
Dell Dimension E310 Windows XP Pro

You might try the method in this article on Trouble Installing iTunes:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93976
Start at: "Important: A majority of customers..."
This should allow you to completely remove the previous installation attemps.
For some reason installing the stand alone Quicktime seems to help in some cases.
iTunes can't work if Quicktime doen't run so it is important to be sure Quicktime is OK first.
Then there is this article on trouble shooting iTunes launch failures:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=302856
The other thing is that if you done a complete Windows reinstall back to the factory settings, have you made sure you have the latest drivers and updates?

  • Windows Will Not Start Up

Hi, I am 81 years old and I desperately need help in starting up my laptop. I have a Satellite A215-S5825 PSAFGU-052002, Windows Vista Home Premium 32-bit, AMD AThlon 64 X2 Dual Core processor. It was running fine than all of a sudden it stopped loading Windows.  This is what happens when I power it on: Screen saying "Toshiba Leading Innovation" comes on, password screen, "Windows is loading files" "Microsoft Corp" and searching bar. It then goes directly into Startup Repair which states "Repair cannot repair this computer automatically."  The problems details are:
Problem Event name: Startup Repair V2
    Problem Signature 01: Autofailover
                                        02: 6.0.6000.16386.6.0.6001.18000
                                        03: 6

                                        05: Corrupt File
                                        06: Corrupt file
                                        07: 3221226021

                                        09: SystemRestore
                                        10: 0
OS Version: 6.0.6000.2.0.0.256.1   Locale ID: 1033
I've tried F2, F8 and holding 0 while powering up but there is no system recovery option, except with a CD which I don't have. System Restore through the Startup Repair menu does not help. None of the options in F8 work, they all lead right back to the Startup Repair tool. I tried bootrec/scanOs at the command prompt and this is what it says "successfully scanned Windows installations. Total identified Windows installations: 0 The operation Completed successfully."
I don't know what else to try. This laptop has been my only means of company at times and I am very sad right now. My next door neighbor is letting me use hers to post this. I can't afford to buy the disks and certainly not another laptop. Any help you can give me to get it back up and running, would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

What happens when you hold '0' while booting? Does anything different happen?

  • Windows will NOT start up. Will start, BUT log itself off ASAP

I have an S10 netbook. Recently it caught a virus so I figured that the easiest thing to do was to do a system restore to an earlier time. The system restoring process went like it should; however, it wasn't successful. Once the system restarted and came to the welcoming screen, It would automatically log off as soon as the system logs on. I tried loging back on several times, but it still logs off automatically and doesn't allow for the windows to open at all. I am clueless right now. I am open to any ideas and approaches. Please feel free to ask questions to clarify or give suggestions for a possible solution. Thank you for your time and genousity.

I agree with KalvinKlein, it's probable that you've caught some sort of bug Please take a look at my reply here to a member suffering the same problem.
You should be able to copy your important files from the drive, just make sure you scan them before copying them back.

  • Windows 7 not starting when partition is finished.

I'm using a Macbook pro 15-inch 2011 using OSX yosemite trying to partition windows 7 ( 64-bit ). Whenever I try to partition my hardrive via book camp assistant and the partition part is successful but windows will not start when my mac restarts. I'm using an external cd drive which works. Its reading the disk but it windows simply won't start and I'll be stuck looking at a blank screen with a type symbol on a black screen similar to what you will find in any windows os. Please help.

Is this what you have - MacBook Pro (15-inch, Early 2011) - Technical Specifications?
    This machine has
    Storage
    500GB or 750GB 5400-rpm Serial ATA hard drive; optional 750GB 5400-rpm hard drive, 500GB 7200-rpm hard drive, or 128GB, 256GB, or 512GB solid-state drive6
    8x slot-loading SuperDrive (DVD±R DL/DVD±RW/CD-RW)
    Maximum write: 8x DVD-R, DVD+R; 4x DVD-R DL (double layer), DVD+R DL (double layer), DVD-RW, DVD+RW; 24x CD-R; 10x CD-RW
    Maximum read: 8x DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-ROM; 6x DVD-ROM (double layer DVD-9), DVD-R DL (double layer), DVD+R DL (double layer), DVD-RW, DVD+RW; 24x CD
You cannot use an external Optical drive. If it is non-functional, you will have to fix it or replace it. This is because BCA sets the boot to be from the internal Optical drive physical address based on your Mac's Model Identifier. This is true for all Macs which have a built-in Optical drive.
