"windows" with options keep popping up

Why do "windows" with options keep popping up whenever I try to do something; they are all different, but will be like "Go Back/ Save as" etc.  It is so annoying.  How do I get rid of it.  I tried removing check mark next to Pop Up Windows, but that didn't do it.  Help!  Thanks!

I thought for sure someone in the Apple Support Community would be able to help me with my problem... however, no one replied (see original question).  I then called Apple Support and they too could not answer my inquiry.  Yes, I probably did not describe my problem with the correct terminology (I am a retired homemaker and not a computer expert).  However, I was determined to figure out why I kept getting these little "boxes" of options... yes, I did not use the right terminology because I didn't know what it was; but I would have thought an Apple Expert could have figured out what I meant.
Apparently I was using my fingers inappropriately on the Trackpad, and the Shortcut Menus kept appearing.  Yes, my little boxes, or windows were actually Shortcut Menus.  But I did not know that's what they were called... so I explained them as boxes, or windows... but as I said, an Apple expert should have known what I meant, even though I did not use the correct terminology.
Now I had to figure out how to remove this option as I didn't like it.  With only 4 months under my belt with this new computer, I am proud to say I found out by going to Preferences/ TrackPad/ and unclicking the box for Secondary clicks resolved my problem... and now I am wondering why I paid extra for Apple Support.  I am disappointed in responses from you.

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.

  • Windows Activation Technologies keeps popping up even though it shows activated

I have a PC with Windows 7 Enterprise that keeps popping up a Windows Activation Technologies message even though the Properties windows indicates it is activated. I have tried re-activating over the Internet and manually over the phone; both times indicating
successful activation. Yet, every day around 7pm, the WAT message will appear.
I have downloaded and run the MGADiag tool and have pasted the report below. I would appreciate if someone would review and provide a possible solution. Thank you.

    Hi,
Using slmgr /rlic command in elevated command prompt to reinstall the license files. This option reinstalls all licenses stored in %SystemRoot%\system32\oem and %SystemRoot%\System32\spp\tokens. These are “known-good” copies stored during installation.

ERROR 7 (WINDOWS 127) keeps popping up when i try to install 10.5 itunes..wuz fine before iphone 4s

Okay ... so it's not one of the cases of bodged up ACLs on the Apple folder in Common Files. (That's been underlying a few of the recalcitrant E7W5s.
Just in case, let's try the fixit from the following document:
Fix problems with programs that can't be installed or uninstalled

  • I use tabbed browsing. Firefox randomly opens new windows with advertising. Pop-ups are disabled. How to fix?

I use Firefox with Windows 7. I use tabbed browsing, and the tabs show at the top of the page. At the bottom of the page, where the Firefox logo is displayed, Firefox will randomly open a second window with advertising. This is a Firefox issue because it says Firefox at the top of the new page. Pop-ups are disabled via Tools>Options>Content. Pop-ups also are disabled on the Verizon Security Suite.

  • "this accessory is nit made to use with iPhone" keeps popping up. What up?

"this accessory is not made to use with iPhone. Do you want to switch to airplane mode" keeps popping up on my phone. What's going on?

Check your dock connector on the bottom of your phone, clean out any dirt and debris you might find. If that does not work get a magnifying glass and make sure a pin is not damaged and the moisture sensor is not tripped.

  • "Open With-" option keeps resetting itself

    Hello,
Every time I set the Open With... option in the Info palette so certain files open with non-default applications, the setting revert to default after I reboot.
For instance, I right-click on an AVI file. Select "VLC" from the "Open with:" menu, then click "Change all…", and click OK on the pop-up warning message.
When I reboot, AVI files open with QuickTime. Including the file I used to change the Open With setting.
Similar things happen with PDFs and JPEGs.
Is there a way to change these Open With setting, so my settings stick? Preferably without having to use Terminal.

  • I downloaded the new update, 3.6.7, came back later and a new window with installation wizard popped up. Do I really need to do this as it seems it is already installed?

I was having so many problems with Firefox crashing and it seems like when I downloaded 3.6.7 and executed it that it resolved the issues. Then an installation wizard window appeared about an hour later asking me to install. Do I really need to do this? I am terrified of it crashing again....

  • Error window that (annoyingly) keeps popping up

I have no idea where this comes from or how to stop it.
But regularly this shows up in the middle of my screen, especially during iPhoto and now Aperture and Rapidweaver use. I don't have a G4 anymore, haven't in a year - and I just want this to stop.
This morning I was adding a photo album page in Rapidweaver, the error message popped up and froze my app.
    Connection failed
The server "bz's G4" may not exist or it is unavailable at this time. Check the server name or IP address, check your network connection, and then try again."
    Your help is greatly appreciated.

Choose Force Quit from the Apple menu, close Safari, and then launch it with the Shift key held down. If that doesn't work, temporarily disconnect the computer from the Internet.

  • Hello there,  there is a rare window that keeps popping up every time i start Logic.  I'd like to send a screenshot... anyway, it's a "tempo" window with strange layout about midi effects and so,.... is it normal?  How can i improve this?  Thanks.

hello there,  there is a rare window that keeps popping up every time i start Logic.  It's a "tempo" window with strange layout about midi effects and so,.... is it normal?  How can i improve this?  Thanks.

Hmm, that's some sort of MIDI Arpeggiator setup in your environment. Strange that you don't know it, this has to be custom-installed, it is not part of the standard setup.
You can do two things about it:
1.unlock your current screenset (shift-L), then close the (Bass Driver) window, then relock the screenset (shift-L). Next time you open up this project you won't see the Bass Driver, but it is still in the project.
    2. You can remove the whole page: open the Environment (cmd-8), then go to the dropdown menu arrow top left of the Environment window and select the Bass Driver layer. If it is selected, dropdown again and choose Delete. Now Save your project under a different name (Save As...), so that you still keep the Bass Driver setup in the original project. If you don't need to keep it, you can simply Save.
