Windows x64 and recently released Sounblaster Live! 64 bit driv

I downloaded the new SB Li've! drivers (Creative Sound Blaster Li've! x64 Driver (2.23MB) released 2 Augh 05) - uninstalled all Creative programs and all Audio drivers on my system, and proceeded to install the drivers as instructed. I reboot my system and I get sound...but only in my front left, front right, and subwoofer. I go to my sound and audio settings, switch my advanced settings to 7. home theatre, and still only the 2 front speakers and the sub are working. Why would Creative release a driver that doesn't work? Any help? [email][email protected]][email protected][/url] or AIM = t0ide
I've been trying to make this thing work since I've been using Windows x64...about 5 months now. Any help is highly appreciated.

Problems with Windows x64 and Sound blaster l

Hey, I have this issue with my sound blaster li've. I've just recently installed Windows x64 and now I'm having issues with my sound. It creates this weird echo sound with a small static sound everytime a game. Prior to loading any applications, the sound is just fine. I had this issue when I had Windows XP but I installed the Li've applications and was able stop that. But I can't install that application for Windows x64. Is there any solution to this? (1) Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility installer file (msicuu2.exe) from the following Major Geeks page (use one of the links under the "DOWNLOAD LOCATIONS" thingy on the Major Geeks page):

(2) Doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file and follow the prompts to install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. (If you're on a Windows Vista or Windows 7 system and you get a Code 800A0046 error message when doubleclicking the msicuu2.exe file, try instead right-clicking on the msicuu2.exe file and selecting "Run as administrator".)
(3) In your Start menu click All Programs and then click Windows Install Clean Up. The Windows Installer CleanUp utility window appears, listing software that is currently installed on your computer.
(4) In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any iTunes entries and click "Remove", as per the following screenshot:
(5) Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try another iTunes install. Does it go through properly this time?

Preparation for installing bootcamp and windows 7, and in the absence of a DVD drive

I am not sure that I submitted this with the right boxes ticked, so i am re submitting it!
In preparation for installing bootcamp and windows 7, and in the absence of a DVD drive on my MacBook Air, before starting, can I partition my external drive (for use with my Mac) to have an ISO image file location for Windows downloads?

I use windows XP and recently upgraded to FF 6.0 when I click the FF shortcut it attempts to load with the hourglass icon but then stops. 5-8 minuets after it loads. This is obviously frustrating. I love FF and need your help.

I use windows Xp and FF 6.0 does not load quickly...it takes 5-8...sometimes 15 minuets before it loads.

But I don't what 5 is going to do for you if your having trouble with 6.
Did you try reading threw [[Basic Troubleshooting]], you should try to see what your issue are rather than go backwards.

TS1717 I have been running Itunes on windows vista and recently loaded Itunes on my Lap top which runs on Windows 7. When I try to play my music the Lap top only play sample music. Any suggestions?

I have a desk top which has Windows Vista. On this computer I have been running Itunes for a long time. My new computer is a Lap top and it runs Windows 7.
I recently loaded Itune on the new computer. I attemted to use Easy Transfer to transfer my Music but was unable to connected the two computers so I transferred my music to a external hard drive and loaded the music on the new computer. I have the folders and files carefully and they appear to match. When I try to run Itunes on the new computer I am unable to access the new music. Itune always goes to the sample music. The only difference I can come up with is Windows Vista and Windows 7. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Both those patches need to be manually applied to PSE 9.

Windows X64 and 1 speaker work

Hi, I have a creative inspire p5800 5. surround system.
Since i installed windows xp x64 and downloaded appropriate drivers only the base and front right speaker works.
Lots of other people with different systems appear to be having similar problems with this x64 business and only having stereo, but their fixes arnet working for me.
I cant seem to find any drivers or tips that can correct this issue, without going back to normal windows xp.
Any help would be awsome!

Dual booting Windows 7 and Vista on dv9620 on dual hard drives

Hi this might look like a repeat question but i haven't seen it answered by anyone that has tried it.
I downloaded the release candidate of Windows 7 and i want to dual boot it on my notebook.
The drives I have available are Disc0 which holds C: (the drive running Vista) and E: the HP_Recovery partition.
Then I have Disc1 which holds D: the Data drive and nothing else.
I want to run Windows 7 on the D: drive So can anyone who has done this tell me how they did it? Most of the dual booting how to's I've seen are for for booting on seperate partitions a single hard drive and because i'm something of a novice to this I would like some advice with more reference to my situation.

You can probably finagle the partitions to allow for dual boot: copy the contents of D: to C: and delete D:, for instance. Speculating, since I don't have an IdeaPad to test on. You usually/probably/maybe lose the OneKey Recovery feature if you touch the partitions.
Others here on the Linux board may have been able to preserve OKR, but I'll leave that to them to describe since I haven't done it.
Long way of leading up to the question: is it sufficient to run Linux in a virtual machine, or as a WUBI install within windows? That keeps things simple and makes backups much easier as well.

Can I dual boot windows 7 and mountain lion with an external hard drive.

I have Mac OSX mountain lion installed and running on my 2TB external hard drive. Boot camp says that I have to use the default flash storage that came with my computer.. Is there a way to put it on my external hard drive if I partition it? I also am having a problem when I tried to use the default storage the setup would not let me format it to NTFS

By default, Boot Camp formats the drive with FAT32. That's because Windows XP could be installed with FAT32 so, in order to write on that partition on Mac OS X, Boot Camp used it instead of NTFS.
If you want to install Windows 7 (it's the only version that your Mac supports), you will have to format the Boot Camp partition in NTFS manually. To do it, just start the Windows installation as usual but, on partitioning screen, choose "BOOTCAMP" volume, press "Drive options" and then, Format, so the partition will be formatted in NTFS and you will be able to install Windows

Install 46D EXT2 on Windows x64 and Oracle 10g

When i try to install a SAP 4.6C system on Windows ORACLE 10.2.0.2 and Windows AMD_64 (x64).
I've got an error in the creation of the database (see below). The Centrale instance wae created successfully.
I've changed KERNEL CD to the 46DEXT2 (INSORA102_0.SAR) version and also applied OSS Note 976457 to update various Windows DLL .
The problem is when launching R3SETUP, it goes to subdirectory ZSAPORAICL like you can see.
Why ? Is there's an error on 46D Kernel CD ?
Do you have any idea ? Already had the same problem ?

School who has windows servers and recently purchased iMacs with Apple svrs

Hi Folks
I like to introduce myself to the forum. My name is Ranj and I am the IT manager at Queensbridge School in Birmingham, UK.
Our school has recently purchased 44 iMacs with an Xserve and XRAID box.
We are school with mainly windows and unix servers and this reason for us buying a apple server was so we could lock the macs down using managed preferences which we have successfully done.
Our Xserve is connected to our active directory system, and from there it allows our students to login to the macs using there windows credetionals. As the apple server talks directly to AD it also connects to their home share folders.
The problem is my windows server only has a 400gb raid and my plan is to somehow migrate all the home folders from the windows 2003 server to our XRAID but am having trouble with it preserving the windows permissions.
I know that Apple can talk via SMB and if i moved the home directory data to the apple server i would still be able to see it on the windows side but am having trouble copying all the files and folders whilst keeping all the ownership and security information.
Does anyone know if there is a util or script which will allow me to do this. Has anyone successfully used robocopy (a microsoft tool) which i am familar with and managed to copy data from a windows server to an apple server.
If anyone can help me with this problem it would be most greatly appreciated.
I have to say I been a Windows user all my life but can now see why Apple Macs are a big deal, there are so much better at what they do compared to their window conterparts.

Windows OS and Mac back up on same Hard drive

I currently use BootCamp with Windows on it's own hard drive in my MacPro. The Windows HD is just 120GB since that is all I really need. I would like to put in a 1.5 TB HD and partition it so a Bootable Windows is one a small portion of it and then the rest of the drive I would like to use as Mac back up drive. Is this possible and if so, what do I have to do?
I would like to just clone the current Windows drive so I do not have to reload anything at all when I transfer it to the new larger HD.

The drive is most likely formatted for the PC and so while the Mac can possibly Read from it it's almost certain it can't Write to it in the current state. If you reformat the drive as FAT32 then both the Mac and PC would be able to use it but _I'd not recommend this as the ideal backup scenario_ 1TB drives are very cheap now and it would be better for you to buy one exclusively for the Mac and then use Time Machine on it to maintain regular backups.

Hello,
I bought a retail version of the Li've 24bit. I just moved and can't find the cd that came with the card, nor can I locate any drivers for it anywhere. If someone could pioint me in the direction of where I can find them, it would be much appreciated, as I can't reformat until I get the drivers.
