Windows XP 64bit issue

Hi there, i just have a new iPod Nano but when i try to install the iTunes software i have a error that it can't install on a Windows XP 64bit OS. Is there a way around this or some other software that i can use to put music on my iPod?
Thanks...

Well good and bad news for you. The good: the previous poster put up a program that works well, but is far from the interface of iTunes, so if your not comfortable with it, don't go that route. Bad news: I've searched for about 3 days now, and I check with all my resources - I work for one of the largest PC vendors (name not given lol) - and no one can tell me a straight-forward answer. The battle seems to be between Apple and Microsoft not working friendly, and the blame is being bounced around. All I can gather from this discombobulated information is that x64, for the time being, will not support iTunes 6 or > ; to me it totally ***** because I can't use my desktop anymore for my syncing, and I don't want to dual boot to take up more space on my computer. So I guess we'll just have to wait for a new update or service pack, or pray that Vista will work with it. Hopes this helps.

  • Windows 7 64bit issues

    Hey,
I have been running a 32bit XP workstaion for a while now for audio and video production.  I decided to jump to win 7 recently and give it a go.  My system ran fine with XP as the os.  (intel core 2 Duo E8400 3.00 GHZ 2gb ram ati radeon HD2600 XT)  I was able to edit HD footage shot from my SONY HDV cam with no problems.
I backed up all my projects and decided to go for it.  I added 4 more gigs of ram for a total of 6GB for my win 7 install. (i have updated CS4 and win 7 completely and installed the win 7 64bit drivers for my video card)
I got cs4 installd and premier wont play any of my source videos or sequences.  the audio plays but the video just stutters between the same two frames.  the source files play fine outside of premier (the source files were crappy videos taken on my girlfriends digital camera, crappy I know, but they worked fine on the same system with xp and less ram. I even tried to open an old more complicated 10min long HD project with lots of edits and multiple audio and video files that worked fine before and i get the same stuttering effect.)
Is there a problem with win7 .. shouldnt it work just the same as vista x64?  should i uninstall and reinstall the whole suite? anyone else having the same problems with a similar experiment?  win 7 is really nice id would love to get this working.
    Thanks in advance
    Tim

    Uncompressed HD
Uncompressed HD is just what it sounds like.  Pure digital HD footage without any compression added. No compression means it's the best possible video quality.  This is very important if you do a ton of compositing using multiple layers of video. It is also important if you are collaborating on a project  that will require multiple generations of rendering.
We do not recommend using uncompressed video unless it is necessary. You are much better off using one of the easily edited formats described above. If you have to use uncompressed video, we hope you are keeping the clips short as well as the final project. Uncompressed video files are huge, and it requires special hardware to import and export it into your computer. Uncompressed HD footage at the highest resolution requires 558 GB per hour of footage. The throughput is so high you need specialized RAID storage and controllers in order to handle more then a single stream of it.

  • CS3 dds drivers and Windows 7 64bit issue

I have photoshop CS3 working however I can't load the dds drivers. I've tried everything see below. Anyone been able to load the Nvidia dds drivers?
What is the proper proceedure to effectively install the DDS files in CS3 in a windows 7 64 bit environment?
I tried the 32 bit and 64 bit files and when I use the 32 bit file i get an error opening up photoshop that says missing D3x9_43.dll, and I don't have the option to save in a .dds format. If I uninstall the dds 32 bit program the missing D3x9_43.dll error goes away.
When I load 64 bit version no errors but I still don't have the option to save in .dds format. Kind of frustrating..................
I've just uninstalled and cleaned CS3. I've done a new fresh load of CS3. What are the correct steps from here?
Which file should I download? etc.
    Thank you in advance.
Ok, I've tried everything I can find.
I let the 32 bit dds program load to a seperate folder and manually transfered the files to the proper folders in Photoshop and still get the same results as above. I tried renaming them and removing the 32 extensions and still no go. I did the same thing with the 64 bit program and still no go.
The 32 bit program said it was still looking for the D3X9_43.dll file for some reason. I haven't tried downloading that file since I don't know where to put it.
Can someone please help me. Has anyone got the DDS files to work with CS3 and Windows 7?
    Thank you
    Bill

Got it fixed. I loaded the drivers from my old XP machine. drivers are from 2007. Don't remember where I got them from but they worked.  I can save dds files again.
    Thank you for the reply.

  • Huey Pro and Windows 7 64bit Issues

Hi there, having problems I am afraid. If I calibrate my two monitors with the Huey pro all works fine except when I run LR 3.0. None of the thumbnails or pictures display at all. They are there as I can see the histogram for each one. Delete the huey profiles and pictures appear again, but unfortunately I loose my calibrations. Running the latest Huey software and windows 7 has all the updates. Any suggestions, and many thanks for looking? Chris

Are you creating V4 profiles? If so create V2 profiles. I beleve LR is one of those programs that doesn't like V4.
I also just found this on the X-rite website.
The huey display calibrator is not designed to calibrate multiple monitors attached to the same computer. If you have dual monitors and your video card supports multiple monitor calibrations, you should check out the higher-end display calibrators such as the i1 Display 2 or i1 Display LT.
If you have two monitors connected to your computer, huey calibrates the monitor that has been designated as the primary monitor. (The primary monitor is the one with the task bar. Monitor designation is done in the Mac System Preferences > Displays > Arrangement or Windows Control Panel > Displays > Settings.)
You may be able to calibrate both monitors if you first designate one as the primary, calibrate it, then designate the second as the primary, and calibrate that. However, this is not a supported feature and may not work with all video cards and monitors. The software for i1 Display, on the other hand, lets you move the display calibration interface to whichever monitor you want to calibrate.

  • Windows 7 64bit BSOD issue

I've been recently getting some BSOD on my pc (win7 64bit) and for the life of me I can't figure out what's causing them. I've run memtest and didn't find any issues. One thing I've noticed is that it will sometimes sit at the login screen and just repeatedly
cycle through that and there isn't anything I can do but hold the power button down. It's almost like I entering a password incorrectly and sends me back to the login screen only to blow right past that without allowing me to enter a password.
I've uploaded my minidump file to skydrive. If someone could take a look and let me know what the issue might be I would really appreciate it.
    https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=818BC808CAF94AA7!651&authkey=!AESwFMlAq6xI8DA&ithint=file%2c.zip
    Thanks,
    Jason

I'll answer what I can right now since I'm at work.
BSOD - I can login and use the machine at times without much issue. Occasionally the system will BSOD on me randomly. One thing for sure that happens almost every time is the looping at the login screen. I've got my system password protected so you must
login. Anyway what happens is that if I leave my PC on for any given amount of time and come back to the PC the login screen is looping. What I mean by this is that instead of allowing me to enter a password it appears one was already entered or the system
thinks one has and then quickly goes to the waiting screen, you see briefly it didn't login then back to password prompt without allowing me to enter a pwd and then right back to the waiting screen for the attemted login. It just keeps looping like that without
stopping. Only way to get out of this is to hit the reset button or hold the power button down.
I've re-installed windows multiple times hoping it was something that would be fixed by the install (clean install). This is Windows 7 64bit Ultimate edition.
Graphics - I am not using onboard graphics - I have this disabled.
Memory - The memory that I have is rated as ddr3-1600 but it's only running at 1333 (would need to overclock it to get 1600) - runs at 1333 by default.
I'm currently downloading and installing update to the bios, mb drivers, etc and then will run another test to see if this helps at all.
I'll also look at the memory to make sure it's supported for my MB and CPU.
let me know if I forgot anything.
    Thanks,
    Jason

  • P67A-GD65 (B3 ) & Windows 7 64Bit Boot Issue

    Hi,
I feel the need to revisit this old forum post as I do not believe it has been fully resolved:
    https://forum-en.msi.com/index.php?topic=156082.0
In summary the issue is "Most times the machine boots and performs flawlessly for hours, but often it boots with the Windows-7 “need to repair” screen and after running repair for a while Windows says: “Windows cannot repair the problem”…….but when I press the Reset button, the PC boots and runs just fine".
I only had the problem since updating from 1F beta 2 to the latest BIOS version. On the original forum thread there are some that had the view that the issue was introduced around BIOS version 1.F (full release, non-beta) and 1.G. Just to confirm this issue NEVER happened for me on 1F beta 2 or earlier BIOS releases. The original forum also has some people saying the issue did not exist on earlier BIOS versions as well.
Most people seem to have solved the issue by either resetting the CMOS or loading default BIOS settings. I tried this and it did initially solve the problem for me.
BUT when I installed new drivers (such as nvidia v301.24) or added new hardware (e.g. Bigfoot PCIe network gaming card) the problem came back.
This implies to me that there is an issue with the BIOS and that resetting the CMOS is a workaround rather than a true fix.
This leaves me with two choices:
    - use an older BIOS, which is ok but limits me from the new functionality in the BIOS (including not being able to use certain hardware that the BIOS updates support)
    - resetting the CMOS after loading new drivers or installing new hardware and then configure my settings (which is very tedious)
Neither option is ideal to me.
The main purpose of raising this issue is to ask whether MSI Support know of this issue and have it on their bug list to fix?
I am concerned it is not being addressed as other forum entries talk about BIOS version 1.K3 being the last version.
My system details are P67-GD65(B3), Windows 7 64bit, 16GB Gskill 2133Mhz memory, 2 SSD, 2HDD, Nvidia 570 GTX, Bigfoot network gaming card.

Thank you _MELK_ for bringing us your experience.
It was already reported that this bug did not appear with older firmware versions.
It is interesting to know that version 1.14 does not have this bug.
This information should help the MSI support team to create a 1.K reliable firmware.
In my opinion, I do not think that Intel RST is the cause of this bug.
    Sure thing momosala..
An update to this issue is as follow...
BIOS 1.14 fixed this issue completely. NO errors since I flashed back to it.   I also reinstalled Intel RST without any issue either.
Note that I wanted 1.19 for another reason as well (fix for USB 3.0 port issues).  I wound up flashing the chipset for the USB ports themselves instead  .    Now the MB works as intended!  :D
WARNING: use the info below with CAUTION (not simple to do, and not provided/supported by MSI afaik)
INFO on USB 3.0 firmware/drivers -- again, use CAUTION and do your research before proceeding!
Note that it took me a few hours to complete the flash since I had to research which version of the chipset I had (hardware ID helped, LOTS of reading on the subject as well to find out HOW to flash my board properly).
You can find the drivers/firmware for the "Renesa USB 3.0 Host controller" by searching google for
    Driver: Renesas/Nec Usb 3.0 Version 3.0.23.0/2.1.39.0 WHQL.
I used the 2.1.39.0 drivers -- you'll find the firmware at the same place and an explanation on how to flash the chipset we have on the P67A-GD65 (which has TWO identical chips to flash).  The new firmware updater doesn't work on those, so you need to download an older firmware to use the older DOS program to flash with the newer .MEM files.

If you set all of the configurations the same as your 32-bit server, you may not be properly optimized. There are a couple of ODTUG Kaleidoscope presentations that talk about 64-bit optimization:

  • PC Suite 6.82 Windows XP 64bit Bluetooth Issue

    Hi,
I've been stuggling all week with an issue with PC Suite and bluetooth. I'm running Windows XP 64bit, service pack 1, WIDCOMM Bluetooth Software 5.1.0.1700, a Kensington USB 2.0 bluetooth dongle, and PC Suite 6.82.22.0. I have no trouble connecting to my phone (a NOkia 6102i) via 'My Bluetooth Places', and I can also connect using the trial version of Oxygen's Phone Manager Software.
If I launch PC Suite and then open the connection manager it gives me four options: Bluetooth (Microsoft), Infrared, Serial Cable, or USB. This in itself doesn't seem right, as I understand it the Bluetooth option should say Bluetooth (WIDCOMM).
If I select the Bluetooth option I get the following error message: "Cannot use the connection type. Check that all the needed hardware, software and drivers are available. (Code: OpoenMedia).
I have tried reinstalling the software, and the bluetooth drivers. I've tried different versions of PC Suite (6.8, 6.81). I have even tried a different bluetooth dongle (iogear) all to no avail.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated.
    Thanks,
    Mike

Have you tried to use microsoft BT stack?
if you want to try to use MS BT driver:
    1. Go to Control Panel, System, Hardware and Device Manager.
    2. Open Bluetooth Devices (or Radios), select that device, click Action, Uninstall and OK.
    3. Click Action and Scan for hardware changes.
(windows should automatic update install MSBT drivers)
    4. After that there should be "Microsoft Bluotooth Enumerator" installed also.
(-> Does the MSBT work any better??)

  • Acrobat 8 issues on Windows 7 64bit

    Hello,
I am thinking about switching to Windows 7 64bit soon, so I tried to install CS3 on the RC. Unfortunately Acrobat 8 doesn't seem to work properly on that operating system (I tried reinstalling or repairing it several times) - even after installing all updates. The Office 2007 plugin as well as the Internet Explorer plugin keep popping up error messages or crashing while generating pdfs and Firefox can't even display pdfs inside the browser.
Is there a solution to this problem?
    Regards,
    Fabian

Now that Microsoft 7 is out as REAL software, how will I get updates for Acrobate 8?  Currently, I can't install Acrobat 8 on my new laptop with MS 7 because it is looking for a VISTA .dll file.
Am I going to have to pay $300 or $400 on a full version of Acrobat 9 (or 10) that will be compatible with MS 7?
