Windows xp; Current Firefox version; won't open mail tabs on AOL. Explorer still works... Has this happened to anyone else?

I'm Running the current Version of Firefox. Have the most up to date version of Windows XP.
Most recently I've not been able to get any action when I click on AOL "check mail" buttons.
(i.e. new mail, sent mail, etc.) they still work if I go to Explorer... i just hate going that route though...
Anybody else seen this. Strange....

I don't use AOL, so let me give you some general suggestions, in case you haven't already tried them.
When you have a problem with one particular site, a good "first thing to try" is clearing your Firefox cache and deleting your saved cookies for the site.
(1) Bypass Firefox's Cache
Use Ctrl+Shift+r to reload the page fresh from the server.
Alternately, you also can clear Firefox's cache completely using:
orange Firefox button (or Tools menu) > Options > Advanced
On the Network mini-tab > Cached Web Content : "Clear Now"
If you have a large hard drive, this might take a few minutes.
(2) Remove the site's cookies (save any pending work first). While viewing a page on the site, try either:
* right-click and choose View Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
* Alt+t (open the classic Tools menu) > Page Info > Security > "View Cookies"
In the dialog that opens, you can remove the site's cookies individually.
Then try reloading the page. Does that help?
In case one of your extensions is involved, could you test the page in Firefox's Safe Mode? That's a standard diagnostic tool to deactivate extensions and some advanced features of Firefox. More info: [[Troubleshoot Firefox issues using Safe Mode]].
You can restart Firefox in Safe Mode using
Help > Restart with Add-ons Disabled ''(Flash and other plugins still run)''
In the dialog, click "Start in Safe Mode" (''not'' Reset)
Any difference?

Has this happened to anyone else? My iPhone4 recently crashed, as I was opening up an app, and now I can't get it to turn on. I don't know if it's the phone, or the screen, because none of my sounds are working either. It had 90% battery when it crashed.

It has happened to others, which you would have known by searching the forum. This is very basic forum etiquette.

Firefox updated itself and in the process removed all my bookmarks. A search of my computer doesn't find any old bookmarks that can be imported. Has this happened to anybody else?

Firefox is 3.6.9. I have a Mac OSX, 10.4.11, PowerPC processor.

Repeatedly, when I open a tweet, or scroll in one, it will trigger AppStore to take over the screen. Is this happening to anyone else and does anybody know why?

There's a clear distinction between temporary files, and files downloaded to the users' download folder.
Or at least, there should be.
I'm inclined to call this a bug, since the user (being me) didn't ask for the download.
Downloading upon opening a site from the address bar is a different action than downloading from within a site (e.g. clicking a url shortcut or a button to download from an indirection).

If the problem persists you have a hardware problem.
All of this assumes your phone is not hacked or jailbroken. If it is all bets are off.

I had this issue. I went to c:\program files (x86)\Mozilla Firefox\
I renamed my plugins folder to plugins.old.
It recreated the Plugins folder and all was good again. I have since reinstalled the plugins I've been prompted to install.

The fafsa.gov site does not currently support Firefox newer than version 3.6.x. That is their choice.
You can install Firefox Portable version to use only on that site and use your installed current Firefox version for everything else. Firefox Portable is not produced by Mozilla (but is based on Firefox released versions) and is not supported on this site -- has its own support forum (see below). Firefox Portable installs in a separate folder on your hard drive so that it does not interfere with your currently installed Firefox version settings or personal information (bookmarks, passwords, etc.). You can also install Firefox Portable on a USB/thumb/pin/jump drive.

I found a fix for this, not only firefox but several other networking programs were broken as well (Outlook and IE were ok for some reason) so I reasoned that the Norton uninstall was incomplete somehow - I had done it from the add/remove programs in the control panel. Sure enough that's not enough to release Norton's tentacles in your system, there's an uninstall tool on their website (a whole set of them actually) that managed to carve it out completely and after a restart everything was back to normal. My machines will definitely be Norton-free from now on ... N

Please help me figure this out. I'm very unhappy at the moment. I'm fustrated and don't have any idea how to revert to the original version before the update was done on iMovie 10. I NEVER hated APPLE until NOW!! I love APPLE products and apps so please help me stay in that mindset. So I worked on some movie projects when I got my macbook pro 6 months ago. I update reguarly. I saw the update prompt and honestly, I did not think I would have ANY issuess with opening my previous files that I created only a few months ago with this updated version.The new updated version of iMovie 10 won't let me open my previous files I created before the update today. Last night I saw the file and tried to open it but no luck. Error message came up again. I reboot and turned off my laptop for the evening and tried again just now but nothing!! I need that video. My job depends on it! I worked so hard on this wedding video and now it's lost and won't open. I work another job and don't have much time. I really don't want to start all over again. I also have Jolly's problem. I found the iMovie 9.0.9 folder and tried to launch the older version of iMove. It would not launch. I removed all of the iMovie preferences from the Preferences folder, removed iMove 10 from the applications folder, and restarted my Mac. iMove 9.0.9 still won't launch and I can't access my videos created with the older version of iMovie. Is there a way to uninstall iMovie 10 and reinstall iMovie 9.0.9?

For starters, have him open Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, select the volume (the indented listing) and Verify Disk. If it reports any problems, have him try a Safe Boot by holding the Shift key at startup. This boot will take much longer than usual. It's checking and trying to repair the drive directory, if possible. Once in Safe Boot, have him repair Permissions.

Also, have him try a PRAM Reset. At the startup chime, hold down CMD-Option-P-R together, listen for two more chimes, total three, then let go to finish booting.
Also, is he running any AV? If so, have him uninstall it. It might be responsible for this behavior. (There are no viruses for OS X.)

Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.

Some users may need to follow all the steps in whichever of the following support documents applies to their system. These include some additional manual file and folder deletions not mentioned above.
