  • Windows 8.1 will not install the driver for Officejet 6310 All-in-One

Have downloaded the driver from the HP website, but it will not install. The download wizard "detected a problem with the driver software" but did not say how to resolve it. The option to download the software was still available, so I did that anyway. When attempting to execute from my hard-drive, extraction occurs, followed by a delay, and then a message that reads "This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way". This is in an error box headed "Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library".  Can anyone help please?

    Hi AB-Comp,
Welcome to the HP Forums! I understand that your are seeing the error The download wizard "detected a problem with the driver software". I am happy to help you with this issue! I have some questions for you:
What Operating System are you using? Windows or Mac? What version?
Can you make copies with the printer?
How is the printer connected? Wireless, Ethernet, or USB?
Is the power cable plugged into a surge protector or directly to the wall outlet?
Hope to hear from you, and thank you for posting!

  • Windows 7 bootcamp drivers not installing properly

    Hi All,
I just installed 32 bit Windows 7 Professional on my early 2011 Macbook Pro 2.2ghz i7 and the OS is working fine, but the ethernet controller, bluetooth, facetime camera, network controller, PCI simple communications controller, and SM bus controller all have yellow exclamation points next to them in device manager and are located in a subfolder called "other devices"
I have already installed and reinstalled the boot camp driver pack off of the OSX 10.6 DVD to no avail, as well as trying to install the Marvell Ethernet Controller driver manually, but nothing works.
Any help on this would be much appreciated, I am going crazy trying to figure this out.

Apple has a 3.2 version Driver Update especially for the 2011 MBPs here http://www.apple.com/support/bootcamp/ (right side)
    Hope it helps

  • Satellite M-115 S1061 Ethernet Controller not configured correctly

Hi all. I'm the third person who's owned this laptop and I have none of the original documentation, software - nothing. I recently had to reinstall the OS and since I didn't have the original OS I had to use another copy of WinXP pro that I had. Well, the network adapter is installed fine and working correctly, but the ethernet controller is not. I don't know a lot about these things, but I thought that if one was working right the other should be too. Do they use different drivers? I tried the file here:
    http://cdgenp01.csd.toshiba.com/content/support/downloads/lan_driver_realtek_25058B.exe
and I tried the latest file from the realtek site, for my Realtek RTL8139 Family Fast Ethernet NIC.
Neither of those solved the problem. The Ethernet Controller is still there in DM with an exclamation mark next to it - along with the SM Bus Controller. Could the bus controller be the reason the controller won't install right?
What am I missing? Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks, all, I appreciate the replies. Unfortunately, the problem persists. I've downloaded all drivers, installed everything I could find for the M115. Everything is working fine (including now the SMBus controller) EXCEPT the Ethernet Controller. It's still not installed properly. I've manually searched for a working driver in every lan driver download for the M115 I could find, and also the PCI_Install pack from the Realtek site. None of them work.
Someone please clarify something for me: is the ethernet controller a component of the Network adapter or is it related to the wireless card? I'm thinking it must be for the wireless because I don't have it on my desktop system, which doesn't have a wireless card. But if it's for the wireless, why can't I get an internet connection through my cable modem? The Network adapter on my laptop is working, and I see that all the settings are exactly the same as on my desktop, and when I run IPconfig it shows an IP address and subnet mask, but I keep getting that message that my conenction has limited or no connectivity. In addition to the Client, File & printer Sharing, QoS Packet Scheduler, and the Internet Protocol, should I be seeing anything else when I look at the Connection Properties of my laptop? (And for the record, I've installed the wireless drivers too.)
Could the problem have something to do with me using WinXP pro rather than the home edition originally installed on the laptop? Maybe none of the drivers are compatible with the pro version? Doesn't seem likely, but I'm getting desperate here. Also, is it possible I get no internet connection because I'm not using the original computer I set up my internet on? Something to do with different MAC addresses or something?
    TIA!

  • Hp Officejet Pro 8600 on Windows 8.1 driver not installed

Using Windows 8.1 and HP Officejet pro 8600.  The printer is installed on a wireless network.  But on Device Manager, it says "driver not installed".   Most printing tasks are successful, but for some I need to have the driver installed on the computer.  I have tried troubleshooting, but am unsuccessful.  I would appreciate help.  Thanks

    Hi emax,
Print a configuration page to get the printer's IP address. Printing a Network Configuration Page.
If you have a valid IP address for the printer then try and access the Embedded Web Server for the printer.
Type the IP address into your web browser's address bar. (Internet Explorer)
If it loads the printer's network page then the printer is on the network.
Power cycle the router, computer and printer.
    Try printing again.
If the issue persists, add a new device if the IP address is valid.
Right-click the Start button () or the lower left corner of the screen, and then click Search.
In the Search box, type HP, and then click the icon for your printer. The printer software opens.
Click Utilities, and then click Printer Setup & Software Selection.
    Click Connect a new printer.
Test the printer over the wireless network.
Please provide the following information so I can assist you better.
What is the printer's first 3 sets of numbers for the IPV4 address?
Could you access the printer's EWS?
Were you able to add a new device?
    Thank You.

  • Windows 8.1 will not install WSUS Updates

Hi, I have an issue with Windows 8.1 clients using WSUS.
I have had a GPO set up to apply to All my computers in my domain, majority of them are Win 7 and WSUS is working perfectly, updates are downloaded and installed automatically and when user shut down, they have the install updates and shutdown option.
Settings in the GPO are: auto download and schedule the install everyday at 10am from a local WSUS server.
These settings as stated are working perfectly fine on Win 7 clients and updates are installed with no user intervention.
However, with the Windows 8.1 clients, the updates are downloaded to the machines from the WSUS server but they are not installed on the computer. There is no option to update and restart or update and shutdown they just sit in Control Panel\Windows Update
until someone manually goes in and clicks install updates.
I have installed the required updates onto my WSUS server for Win 8.1
I have ensured the GPO is applying to the machine which it is, i have also tried settings the 'Install during automatic maintenance' option in the same policy and configuring all options under maintenance scheduler and still nothing.
I can see that the settings are applying to machines via RSOP and the settings are set and unchangeable in teh relevant areas of Windows.
Automatic Maintenance runs and the time and date stamp for last run time changes but the updates are not installed as part of this and they are still sat in Windows Updates with the 'Install Updates' button. UNLESS i MANUALLY run the Maintenance process
    from Action Center
Obviously i don't want my OS update plan dependent on users having to manually navigate to install updates and all this works fine on Win 7 clients.
    Any advice?

    Is this related?

  • Windows 7 drivers will not install for Printsmart B209a

Ok, I have tried to solve this for the better part of 2 days on my own.. I have tried every solution I can find by google and forums..
In the device manger it show that my printer drivers are not installed, when i try to install them Windows tells me the drives are not digtally signed and I and not it's not sure they are committable with my printer.. When I tell it to go ahead and intestinal them it tries then tells me it can not due to one of the above..
I have uninstalled the drivers and reinstalled them so many times I have lost count.. I have used a uninstaller to make sure I got every little piece of the driver I can find..
Now when I try to install them, it hangs at about 89% and tells me it is waiting for a SPL response from the printer.. and that never happens.
So can someone please help me with these two problems..
Thanks in advance for your knowledge, time and effort..

Make sure that you run the correct OS bit version download for your computer. Do you have 64 bit or 32 bit win 7? did you install software by cd or online?
if it hangs at 89% , that means your firewall is limiting the installation.
what is the brand of your anti-virus software?

If you're running 9926 then you're not installing the correct version. If
you expand the Details section you'll see that version was published last
October. You'll need this one, which was published in at the end of
    January:

  • IPhone 4 / Bluetooth / Windows 7 / Peripheral Device not installed?

I am unable to install my iphone 4 to the new laptop I have, OS Windows 7. The devices pair fine and recognize each other, I just keep receiving error messages when the driver automatically installs. It reads "Bluetooth Peripheral Device" not installed. Any solutions???
    Thanks
    -Jonny

I realise this is an old topic, but it seems everyone has the wrong band-aid fix.
The correct fix is as follows:
The issue is that Windows doesn't recognise the iPhone as a Bluetooth Peripheral Device and cannot find the correct driver to download and install.
    Follow the following steps:
    - First, you need to install the appropriate 'Windows Mobile Device Support' software for your version of windows (32 and 64 bit versions have different files to download).  It may look like it didn't install in Windows 7, but that's ok.  It did.
    - Turn on the bluetooth discovery mode on the iPhone.
    - Select 'Add a Device' in Devices and Printers, follow the instructions to connect and enter the 8 or 9 digit key into your iPhone.
    - Your iPhone should be found and automatically install all the software and drivers except for the Bluetooth Peripheral Device driver.
    - In Devices and Printers, right click the iPhone, select properties, and then the hardware tab.
    - The first device function should be 'HID-compliant consumer control device. Ensure it's selected.
    - Select Properties, and in the next window select 'update driver'
    - Select 'Browse my computer for driver software'
    - Select 'Let me pick from a list of device drivers on my computer'
    - Select 'Bluetooth Radio' from the left hand side listing
    - In the next window, select 'Microsoft Corporation' on the left, and 'Windows Mobile-based Device support' from the right side.
    - Install this option, clicking through the warnings and accepting this option.
    - Now you have the device driver installed, and your iPhone will be connected via Bluetooth when you need to pair it - great for file transfers and internet access without turning the radio on.
I hope this helps.  This is the proper fix.  Not the 'pressing two keys at the same time' or unchecking the option that only allows some features to be used.

Skype is not installing it just stuck on "Please wait while skype is installed"

Same problem here, but now in Win 10. I guess I have unistalled it when I was using Win 8.1, now having updated to Win 10, I cannot install skype. It has been stuck in the installation process which never ends. Now I am trying a few solutions, but I think this is because of the Win 10 update.

If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart

I hope you don't mind me asking this question for Jack the Newbie.
You say i have to use a Windows XP-Pro Install-CD that includes SP2 as well as the JMicron driver for the JMicron IDE-Port which i have my Optical Drive connected to.I know this is telling me how to fix my problem, but what i would also like to know is WHY do i have to install it with SP2 & the JMicron driver like this on my P965 when it installed on my old pc with just the XP-Pro Install-CD.
Your Windows Installation CD should be as up to date as possible, especially for newer hardware.  SP1 is from 2002, SP2 was released in 2004. Neither SP1 nor SP2 install CDs provide the proper drivers for the JMicron chipset used on your mainboard.  I cannot give a detailed list about the differences between SP1 and SP2. I just know, that there are a lot of problems when people do not use SP2 on Intel 975/965 Chipset-boards which where released in 2006.
When you say that your installation works fine on your old PC I believe you.  It worked on my old Laptop too.  However I was not able to install XP Pro on my 975X-board without SP2 at all until I upgraded my Installation CD.

    Garfield,
I had exactly the same problem--because I had my optical drive hooked up to a Promise IDE controller, rather than to a mobo IDE connection.  Turns out the Promise will read and write the optical drives OK, just won't boot from them properly.  And, somehow, that affects Windows Setup.
I don't know anything about the JMicron and the need for SP2.  But, as you can see from my sig, I'm using XP Pro SP1, and once I moved my NEC 3500 back to the mobo IDE (as secondary behind my IDE hard disk) everything worked like a champ.
    Just my $.02.

To relate Garfields problem with your solution is a mistake.  Your board does not use any JMicron hardware, has NVidia chipset instead of Intel and an AMD CPU.  Your are talking about a totally different Setup here.

  • Windows 7 Pro will not install on iMac after HD replacement.

I have a late 2009 iMac on which I have OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion and ran Windows 7 Professional in Bootcamp. My iMac wound up having a defective hard drive which was just replaced last week under warranty. The problem is now I am unable to install Windows 7 in Bootcamp. I use the Bootcamp assist to partition the HD, it goes through the motions of installing Windoes 7 but at a certain point after 2 reboots and just before it would say Windows is setting up your computer for first use the screen goes black and nothing happens. The iMac is still turned on because if I hold the power button down I hear it shut off. When I turn it back on I can see that Windows was not fully installed.I tried to see what it says running in safe mode, and then I can see that it wants to continue setting Windows up but I get a message that Windows cannot be installed in Safe Mode, and I should reboot but then I get the black screen again. I've tried to repair the installation but to no avail. I've done this using both 32 bit and 64 bit with full disc of Windows 7 Professional but neither work.
Does anyone have any idea what could be wrong and what I can do to rectify this problem? Thanks in advance for any help.
