Windows xp on Folio 13-2000

Hi!
I have troubles finding drivers for IDT audio on my folio 13-2000 since installed windows XP. I know hp doesn't support windows XP for this model so Ive have tried about 15 different IDT drivers whiteout success.
Is there anybody else who succeeded installing audio drivers for windows xp on this computer, in that case where did you find them?
have a nice day!
//Nlindahl

Hi:
You always have to install the MS UAA driver before installing the IDT audio driver.
Uninstall the IDT audio driver and install the MS UAA driver first, reboot and reinstall the IDT audio driver.
See the link below for several IDT audio drivers you can try and also links to the MS UAA driver.
Look under the section labeled Difficult Models.

  • Lost BIOS password Hp Folio 13-2000

    Hi,
I'm hoping for a code like I've seen other users with the same issue get. We've forgotten the BIOS password set on a HP Folio 13-2000 laptop and repeated attempts now give the message System Disabled 68875769.
Thanks in advance for the help.

  • Setup windows XP on a Portege 2000, with no external drives

I recently became i happy owner of a Portege 2000 which was given to me for free(?!) from a family member that doesn't use it anymore.
When i first held it i felt impressed! Its so light and so beautiful.
It came with Windows 2000, which crashed after a while (just one day). So i decided to install windows Xp on it. But the portege has no external media drives that can be accessed through the bios, as i have come to conclude after reading several threads on this forum. After windows 2000 crashed i suspected that the hard drive may have some issues, but i decided that before i purchase i new 1.8" (very expensive) drive, i would try to install a fresh copy of windows XP os. So i bought a 1.8" to IDE hard drive adapter to plug it on my desktop. This thing works just fine as i can see the drive and also copy files on it.
But the problem for me is how can i install XP on the drive and then plug it back on the portege and make it work.
I tried installing windows through the desktop PC, and then after removing all the drivers from the device manager console, i re-install it on the portege. All i get is a grey bar that fills up on a black screen and then nothing.....
I tried to boot it in safe mode but after it loads some files it just gets stuck. I though that maybe if i did the installation on a different desktop there would be no problem, so i installed XP on all the desktops availiable to me (core 2 duo, Opteron, and athlon XP -socket A) with the exact same results.
Is there a way to make the toshiba 1.8" drive bootable through the desktop PC and also include windows XP installation files on the same drive?
What i mean is if its possible to emulate a floppy and access command prompt, while having windows XP on the same hard drive??
If not do you have any suggestions about this issue? Any idea will be very welcome as i have been trying to find a way for about a month now...
I read somewhere in this forum that you can install XP via lan, but i really don't know how to do that.
P.S. Would it be possible for anyone to find a windows xp installation for portege 2000 as a ghost image that i can load in the drive through the desktop???
Thank you in advance & please help me....

So tonight was the big night for me, it was time to find out if i could put kjo's info in practice....
Plugged the 1.8" toshiba drive in the desktop, format to fat32, set primary and active partition and then do the booting part.
So i set of to create a MS-dos boot floppy, only to find out to that (long time no-use) floppy drive was as good as dead...
I tried to do the exact same process through a usb stick but no luck there either. And then it struck me! Mark the file extraction box, unmark the writing on floppy box on the wbootess.exe window and there it is! It worked like a charm!! The drive was bootable on my Portege right away no floppy, no usb stick needed. It just booted!
So i unplugged the drive once more, copied the i386 folder on the drive and ina few secs i was in windows blue screen mode!!...
kjo i am really thankful to you for taking the time and explaining this routine, that program is very useful (wbootess.exe), as you can make almost anything bootable!!
I am very pleased with the little toshiba actually functioning after all this time i could only look at it!

  • Get Windows Folder Paths on Win 2000

I downloaded the windows_folder_path.vi from NI site, where I can see that "This VI is supported on Windows 2000, XP, and Vista."
If I use it in an executable that searches for Application Data folder, it works under XP, but it doesn't under a fresh Win 2000 SP4 installation.
    A pop-up with the message:
    Entry poin Not found
The procedure entry point SaferGetPolicyInformation could not be located in the dynamic link library ADVAPI32.dll
    is shown.
When I press the OK button, another popup
    LabVIEW: Resource not found.
An error occurred loading VI 'windows_folder_path.vi'.
LabVIEW load error code 3: Could not load front panel.
I'm confused because here (MSDN, Microsoft Developer Network) I can see that  the SaferGetPolicyInformationfunction requires WinXP or Vista
Isn't this vi expected working properly under Win 2000?
In the next days I'll do the same test on a Vista machine, and I hope....
How can I get the Application Data path on WinXP, 2000 and Vista? With different languages OS this folder has a different name (Application Data, Dati Applicazioni, ...) so I can't build the path by myself.
I don't know if this helps, but I'm developing with LabVIEW 8.2.1and WinXP Pro

  • Just installed DPS for windows cs6 and Folio Builder isn't working

I've just installed the DPS for windows CS6, but there are no options in the Folio Builder, yet i can create new Articles. How do i get the Folio Builder working?
Does it need to be connected to the internet? I work for a large organisation and have firewall restrictions limiting internet access from In Design, but thought i could work offline.
Any clues to what i might be doing wrong?
    Thanks

Yes, CS6 Creative Cloud on Windows 7. I also am running this on my old Mac Pro which is working fine. (I only run one at a time to avoid license problems).
Anything related to the "folio" is empty or functionless. I can see the Folio Builder and Folio Overlay panels, but nothing is in the windows. I installed the CS6 DPS tools as well.

  • Mobile broadband (un2430) not working with Windows 10 on Folio 9470m

I have had Windows 10 installed on my HP Folio 9470m since October last year (insider program). One thing that I never been able to get to work is the mobile broadband device (un2430). It simply says "Radio off". All attempts to re-install driver (which shows as "working"), disable/enable the device etc etc just leads to same result, that the "Radio is off".I googled this a couple of times and found that other users have the same problem. Also colleagues of mine with same model has also the same problem. It works just fine under Windows 8.1. Anyone has a workaround? I was really disappointed when W10 was released that HP did not update the drivers-page with W10 drivers:http://h20566.www2.hp.com/hpsc/swd/public/readIndex?sp4ts.oid=5271102 How can I find out when/if HP will release W10 drivers, including support for mobile broadband, for the HP Folio 9470m?

Thank you for your reply. I've tryed several SIM cards, and arrived to the conclusion that it doesn't work with portuguese operator TMN (all the SIM i've tried from TMN lead to the same result)!
I guess that there is some misconfiguration on WM config files. I found one xml with default configuration for worldwide carriers, and maybe it is possible to change some of those parameters to make it work... I just don't know wich one!
Maybe I'll have some luck, of someone reading this, and that is able to give me a tip to solve the problem.
The SIM card just work well on a 3G usb stick, or even in a celular phone!
    Thank you again.

  • Folio 13-2000 unable to create recovery media due to known SSD corruption bug

My folio has been freezing and periodically showing the 'no boot drive' message. I tracked it down to the critical Softpaq sp60976. I tried to create recovery media (USB flash drive), but it fails at about 19% completion and says it cannot continue. The SSD firmware update requires a secure wipe of the drive, but I won't have anything to put back on it.
My computer is out of warranty by a year. Is there really no recovery media, even for purchase, from HP? I'll take DVD, as I can attach an external DVD drive.

  • Upgrading Windows 2003 Ent and Exchange 2000 to SBS?

Hi.  I'm wondering the best course of action from a planning standing.
I have a single domain Windows 2003 R2 Enterprise Server.  This has VMware 2.0 Server, SQL Server and TFS.  The VMware is hosting Exchange 2003 and a second Domain Controller.  (yes, not an optimal solution.  Fortunately my Dell PowerEdge
with 8 Xeon cores and 16 G's memory has been holding up well).
I'm thinking that the least risky upgrade is to go to SBS 2008 server with Hypervisor.  I've read that this is a supported upgrade path.   Then drop VMware server.
What would people more experienced than me recommend?

  • Questions regarding Clean Install of windows 10 on my HP 2000

This doesn't answer any of 3 questions that I've asked

Hello! I've bought this laptop around 2.5 years ago and it came with genuine Windows 8. When 8.1 came out, I updated it. Now, obviously, I was able to update to windows 10. However, it's my desire to do a clean install. After spending hours researching this stuff, I reliazed that some aspects of it might turn out to be more difficult than others. I'll just lay it down point by point and list my questions at the end. 1) My Version of Win10 has been activated (double checked)2) I want to re-install Win10 using boot drive (USB/DVD) unless there is an easier way3) I understand the basics of creating a boot drive, and Microsoft seems to have a very nice utility already prepared for this4) I want to completely re-install windows 10 as if this was an absolutely new laptop Now for the questions that I've developed: 1) If I was to use USB for media boot drive, I understand that I need to delete everything on it because this utility will wipe everything on it anyways and will store windows "image" on it. Do I need to do some special kind of defrag on it? Will I be able to use it after I'm done installing Win10, or it will stay as dedicated image? 2) On forums they write a lot that there might be some issues entering BIOS and changing the "boot options" to USB/DVD on laptops. My BIOS configuration is F.3A - 06/13/2013 - can somebody provide me with exact instructions how to execute this procedure properly? 3) One of the aspects of installing Windows is dealing with partitions. Now, on desktops as far as I know there are usually as many as external storage harware devises there are ( plus the ones user manually created). I've never messed around with my partitions and recently I've found out that I have 7 of them (screenshot). When going through installation, I will need to choose which partitions to put my windows10 on. And this is where I'm very confused. Will I need to delete some partitions prior to installing Windows? Which one do I put it on? Do I need to defrag any of them? This laptop came with genuine Win8, does this matter? Whoever will spend time answering these questions - thank you!

  • Hp Folio 13-2000

So my hp died and i went to plug it in to charge it and after hours i realized it didnt charge and it would not turn on. There was blinking light that it on wifi button that just flashes while its plugged in but if i unplugg it it stops flashing. I am wondering what could be the issue. Is it my charger or did something happen to the battery?

The only thing I can suggest is trying a hard reset. Scroll down on the page for reset instructions on non-removeable battery.

  • Forgotten Bios Password on HP Folio 13-2000

Hello, I've tried entering a BIOS password a few times but eventually it locked me out saying "System Disabled" with the code 52162908. What can I do to reset the password and get into the BIOS? Many thanks!

Please read the first post at the link below which should resolve your dilemma. http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Operating-Sy... Then... You can: 1. Use the unlock code you generated to enter the BIOS
    2. Disable all passwords that are enabled in the BIOS's security menu.
    3. If asked for current password - type the unlock code
    4. For new password, just press ENTER key
    5. Repeat the same for verify password column.
