Windows XP SP3. Unable to install AIR, any help?

Hello,
I'm trying to install AIR on my Windows XP SP3 workstation.  I had 1.5.0.7220 installed, but the application wanted to update it so I downloaded the newest runtime.  Tried to upgrade it but it wouldn't upgrade, kept saying Error 0. So I tried using this note: http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/403/kb403150.html to remove it, but it wasn't in my Add/Remove programs, so I found this command you can run to uninstall it:
E:\Apps\Adobe Air>AdobeAIRInstaller.exe -uninstall
but it fails
E:\Apps\Adobe Air>Uninstalling Adobe AIR (all versions)
failed (consult log)
so I checked the log in %temp% and this is all it says
Error 1714. The older version of Adobe AIR cannot be removed.  Contact your technical support group.  System Error 1612.
=== Logging stopped: 9/16/2009  14:04:24 ===
Then I found a note saying to create the file .airinstall.log in your User dir and try reinstalling.  This is what is in that log:
UI SWF load is complete
starting uninstall
Beginning install
Uninstalling product w/ GUID {00203668-8170-44A0-BE44-B632FA4D780F}
Error occurred; beginning rollback: [ErrorEvent type="error" bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 text="1612" errorID=0]
Rollback due to error complete
error during install: [ErrorEvent type="error" bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 text="1612" errorID=0]
runtime install entering error state: [ErrorEvent type="error" bubbles=false cancelable=false eventPhase=2 text="1612" errorID=0]
begin quitting
So in a last (probably stupid..) ditch effort, I deleted everything in my registry that I thought had to do with AIR and all the adobe air directores in my users folder and program files and ran CCleaner.
It didn't help, in fact it's exactly the same errors..
Any help?

On Windows, it is best to use the Add or Remove Programs control panel to remove AIR.
To install, update, or remove AIR, you need to have administrative privileges.
Here is the documentation on installing and removing AIR:

itunes 64 bit on windows 7 is unable to install, i have the 64 bit installer version but it keeps saying "errors occurred" at the ( rolling back ) phase. HELP!!!

I have the answer and this might be useful for any one else wondering about this in the future. If it helped you or explained what you wanted to know. Replay to the post pls
It's quite easy actually. First have your "iTunes Library Extras", "iTunes Library Genius", "iTunes Library", and "iTunes Music Library" backed up. Download ans install iTunes 64-bit. I don't know what's so 64-bit about iTunes 64 since Win7 reports it as a 32-bit application in the task manager. But anyway. Install iTunes 64 and launch it. If you migrated your library to another drive like me go to settings in iTunes and change the directory to your location. Close iTunes. Replace the newly created files with your backed up files. Launch iTunes. iTunes will load and then update your library and from there you are set to go! so basically it is just like a normal upgrade. But if you hesitated to go from 32 to 64 like me, here is your answer.
By the way. I'm using Windows 7 64-bit with iTunes 64-bit and it works without problems and syncing with my iPod Touch also works flawlessly.

I am assuming you updated to version 5.1.1, not 5.0.1 since no legitimate version of 5.0.1 is available.
Where is this iPhone from and what means did you use to unlock it?

Hi, I have bought a later os from app store but am unable to download it, any help appreciated.

I am using 10.6.8 at the moment and have purchased 10.8. from the App Store.
Went through a long process of registering again, twice, sending in a coded number. To be told that the site is busy at the moment.
Not an easy or a straight forward process, with grammatical errors in the wording of documents.
Hey ho, try again tomorrow, day four.
    Thanks for replying.

I have trouble installing Adobe AIR, and the installer just

I have had betas installed previously, but I have tried to
uninstall them both by the Add/Remove panel and by using the
Windows Installer Cleanup utility linked a couple of times here on
    these forums. Still no luck.

Anyone find a solution to this? It is driving me nuts. I have
tried everything and all my permissions are set to "allow", but
still I get the same message:
"An error occurred while installing Adobe AIR. Installation
may not be allowed by your administrator. Please contact your
    administrator."
I'm running Vista Home Premium SP1, and I've tried right
clicking and then selecting "Run as administrator", but still I get
the same message. I've also tried installing from my desktop. Still
    the same message.
I had no problem installing Air the first time around, but it
wasn't allowing me to update the one program I was running using
the Air platform, so I was advised to uninstall. Now it won't
reinstall. I posted my install log file before, but I'll post
    again:
Here's the .airinstall.log file from the last install

  • TS2756 Windows XP SP3 unable to wirelessly connect to personal hotspot?

iPhone 4s version 6.0.1 + AT&T data plan with tethering
    Mac OSX version 10.7.5
    Windows XP SP3 v 2002 + Intel Centrino Advanced-N 6200 AGN network adapter, driver version 15.2.0.19 6/2012
Problem: I can use my Mac (today) to wirelessly connect to my iPhone personal hotspot but my Windows computer doesn't see the hotspot in available networks.
Background:  My personal hotspot would work for a while then drop out.  I upgraded to iOS 6.0.1 Monday morning, and Monday evening a friend with Windows 7 could connect to my hotspot but I could not wirelessly connect the Mac to the hotspot.  I went through all the troubleshooting: restored network settings, closed apps, restarted services, rebooted, verified AT&T still had me on a tethering plan - the only thing that fixed it was a complete restore, however my Windows XP computer still can't see it.  It can see and connect to other networks.  I upgraded the network adapter driver, rebooted, repaired the wireless network connection, released/renewed all ip addresses, and confirmed with Intel that the adapter supports WPA/WPA2.  It can see and connect to other wireless networks.
This Apple Support KB article says I should be able to use the hotspot via wifi with "A device with Wi-Fi with support for WPA/WPA2 encryption," however the Apple tech support supervisor I spoke with today said the hotspot only works wirelessly with Windows 7 and Vista.
    Any ideas?  Thanks in advance!

Hello JMeFX. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
    Try the following:
o If you are running wireless encryption on the Time Capsule (TC) temporarily disable it. Can the PC connect wirelessly now?
o If the PC is still unable to connect with encryption disabled, try changing the default radio mode from "802.11n (b/g compatible)" to "802.11g only." You can access this mode by holding down the Ctrl key before making the selection in the AirPort Utility.

sorry wrong speeling after i use fcs remover i want to install again fcpx when i went to apple store it says installed please any help

If you have a backup of your hard drive that includes the app you have removed, that is likely what the Mac App Store is seeing. Disconnect the backup and you should be able to redownload the app.

  • Updated my Ipad 1 from IOS 4.3.2 to IOS 5.1.1 as requested by Itune. all went well but unable to Activate. Any help to overcome ? Thanks

Many Thanks for any help or guidance.
    cheers

If it is a 3G it cannot be updated beyond iOS 4.2.1.  If it is a 3GS it can be updated to the current version (5.1.1).  If you're not sure which model you have, check this article: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3939.

  • Windows 7 64 bit- unable to install air apps

I tried using tweetdeck earliear and found that the app doesn't work at all. I tried reinstalling the app and got an error- app reported "A download error occurred. Try to download again?". I did a full uninstall of tweetdeck and AIR. Right now I no longer have air in the system- when I go to:

  • After upgrading to 10.2.2.12  on windows XP SP3 , itunes does not display any summary info or buttons/options. The buttons work but it does not display the text on the button or the options available.

I recently upgraded the iTunes software to 10.2.2.12 on my Windows XP laptop. Since then, iTunes stopped displaying the Summary info
, the text on the buttons, the various drop down options. The buttons seem to be working but I can't tell what that button is supposed to do
or the option I am selecting. This is preventing me from syncing my photos to the laptop.
this was not a problem with the previous version of iTunes.
    Actions taken :
    - I tried downloading iTunes again and repairing the install. That did not fix it.
    - Don't want to uninstall it as I am worried that I would lose all the songs and the purchases etc.
    1. Has anyone encountered this ?
    2. Is there a solution for this ?
Many thanks in advance for your time and help

b noir, my Windows 7 machine is having the exact same issue as nsadal, and I have already confirmed that all six of the Segoe UI fonts are installed on my computer.  Are any other Windows users having this problem with the 10.2.2.12 iTunes release?
Yeah it does, although the problem predates version 10.2.2.12. It's been around since earlier-on in the version 10s (at least).
It's usually Segoe UI font trouble on the Windows 7 systems too. Unfortunately, the Vortical troubleshooting technique only works on XP and Vista systems, so dealing with the issue on a Windows 7 system is trickier. (There's a bunch of different possible issues relating to the fonts that could be in play, and so the treatment tends to depend on which issue in particular you've got with the Segoe_UI fonts.)

  • Unable to install on any virtual machine

Dear Sirs! I have download an original iso file these days to install Windows 10 from it when creating virtual machines.  I have tried to install it on Virtualbox Vmware player or Hyper-v. The result is the same.  The virtual drives are located
on the same partition as the iso file, but in different folders. The hardware virtualization is on. The 3 gb of 8 gb memory are devoted for the machine.  Files are copied and components are added during the installation. Then the windows logo with preparation
message appear. It hangs about 2-3 hours. I switch the machine off. Please write if need to wait more or consider the installation as failed. Also write what should I do to solve the situation.
    Regards,
    Alexander

    Hi algusev,
If you still have such issue, you can try another download copy for try, generally, it would take a few hours to finish the installation in Virtual Machine.

can i use cs5 on windows xp sp3

It is highly likely based on a cursory look at the page linked below.  If you find the software you wish to install listed in the page linked below you can check to see if it is supported on the system you wish to install it:
