Windows XP wont recognise Silverlight

As per a previous post recommending that you right clickn on video settings and pick silverlight from the list as the prefeerred video player.
When I try this the only video player shown is flash player. There is no list and there is defintely no Silverlight.
I would ring BT again (so far have made 12 calls in 8 days, 5 over 45 mins, 2 over 90 mins and 1 yesterday of 2hr 46mins!!!) but I am not sure my nerves will stand another bunch of excuses and being told they will call back at a given time and date (So far had 2 of these and have rceived no call back on either!).
Funny enough the customer care agent completely lost interest when he realised I would not be sucked into his upselling of a £90 alternative to the online issue!
If BT Sport requires a computer with specific settings, operating system and a bucket full of luck maybe they should tell that to the victims of the sales team before they agree to take your money to sign to BT.
I left Plusnet specifically for the sports and so far have seen no sport in 9 days!!!
So come on BT play fair. Help me see what i purchased (preferably without telling me to buy a new PC!!, yes it really was said!)

If you're using Internet Explorer go to Tools > Internet options > Programs > Manage add-ons > select "All add-ons" under "Show"; Silverlight needs to be there and it needs to be enabled. If that doesn't help, this page might.

Just bough 4th Generation iPod Shuffle from Amazon - comp;uter doesnt recognmise device, neither does iTunes. I have re-installed iTunes, re-started Computer but nothing seems to work. I have a 2nd generation iPod shuffle and that is recognised by computer. Anyone have any suggestions - I am at my wits end.

There is a USB printer connected to the back port of the PC. The mouse and keyboard are both PS/2.
I did attempt to reinstall the USB root drivers. After uninstalling iTunes and all the other apple software packages included, I uninstalled everything USB in Device Manager, then rebooted the PC to let Windows reinstall it all.
Reinstalling the OS -might- fix the issue, but if that were the case, it's most likely just a software conflict that can easily be fixed if I can manage to narrow the specific conflicts down. I've already essentially disabled everything with MSCONFIG except for Apple stuff, so I'm at a loss as to where to go. I've attempted the 5 Rs and all that as well, none of it seems to do the trick. I also cleared the temp folder multiple times (once per each iTunes uninstall / reinstall following the support site directions of uninstalling all the extra apple software) as well as attempted restarts of the Apple services.
One oddity I would like to point out is that if I attempt to restart the iPod service through services.msc, it will not restart. It throws the error message of "the service failed to respond in a timely fashion" or whatever. I instead have to use the windows Task Manager to manually kill the iPod process in the processes list.
I just now removed the USB printer and plugged the shuffle into the same port, but I receive the same error message in iTunes about the iPod being corrupted and it needing a restore. If I push restore, the software gets stuck in an endless loop. There are no other USB devices attached to this computer, the motherboard drivers are fully up to date from nVidia's website, and other USB devices clearly function just fine (USB memory sticks, USB printer, etc). If I use the Diagnostics option under Help in iTunes, it will claim there is no iPod connected, and, again, the iPod still does not show up in Windows Explorer under My Computer as an attached device, nor does it show up in Disk Management as a mounted partition.

Windows XP Wont Recognise My IPOD (with Windows on Drive D?)

I have been using the my IPOD sucessfully with Itunes for over a year now. However since recently rebuilding my machine with Windows residing on Drive D: (was on Drive C orginally), the IPOD is not recognised by ITUNES or the Updater. I read somewhere that ITUNES and the Updater requires drive C: to be the main drive. I can't believe this but since I am desperate I will try anthing. However before I go to this extreme step, can anybody shed any light on this please. Much appreciated!

Now I put the "wee darling" into disk mode as you suggested and no, it did not show up in the disk management screen.
When I got it into disk mode, following the instructions, it came up correctly with "ok to disconnect" however, when I connected the Ipod, it did not come up "with do not disconnect" as it should have done, again according to the instructions.
I have previously and recently used this firewire port with my movie camera, so I know it works. I also get power from the Firewire port ok.
In case this helps, this is a first generation Ipod with the scroll wheel. (bit ashamed to admit this).

I have just updated my iphone to 4.3.5 and now my windows pc wont recognise it

I did the latest update of iphone 4 ( 4.3.5) ( ihave the latest version of itunes) and now when I plug my iphone into my windows XP pro ( has the latest service pack up to date) into usb port i get a message saying USB Device Not Recognised....and it does not show in itunes either ...please anyone have this problem ??

I can't install my drivers from my external hardrive as windows wont recognise it.. how do i get back to my OS X Lion operating system?

Some people don't even know there is a Set Default OS startup disk control panel as part of System Preferences.

IPod wont recognise music on windows

Hi,
I have an iPod Classic 80gb.
I originally added my own music through windows on my own laptop.
Recently whilst I was in hospital a guy mithered me to put my music onto his mac laptop.
It subsequently wiped all my songs out and I had to then restore and reimport all my songs off his hard drive back onto my iPod.
It seemed to work ok.
All the songs seem to be there minus the playlists,but now when I connect it to windows,it doesnt recognise the music.
Is it now only compatable with Mac,and if so is there a way that I can convert it so that it is compatable with windows again?

I dont have the original windows laptop that I imported the music through,and I dont have access to the mac computer cause that weas someone I just met in hospital,so what are my options?How can I get the music off the iPod and back onto a windows type computer or would i have to get an apple computer?

NEW MACBOOK AIR WONT RECOGNISE AIRPORT

I have a new MacBook Air - have spent 7 hours trying to get it to recognise and link to my AIRPORT and still no joy . I have my old MACBOOK PRO linked up, no problems ,and I have mirrored all the settings but the new one still cant find the AIRPORT and on the odd occasion that it does , it eventually times out .
Have re-set the AIRPORT and done everything that the Apple Tech Man advised but nothing doing - feel like throwing the stupid thing out of the window .
Also, it wont recognise my external hard drive so all the back ups that I have made, cant be transferred to my new machine.
The whole point of having two machines was to make sure I was never left in a position like I was the other week with a broken hard drive and no way of runnimg my business but I have been unable to do any work for over two weeks - Apple Support non existant .
So any ideas would be very welcome . Thanks

As no one replied I would just say that I now know that you dont need McAfee security on a MAC - if you do , AIRPORT and your MacBook wont connect using AIRPORT TIME CAPSULE so dont let the store you buy your MAC from sell you MCAFEE - its not needed

Itunes wont recognise I phone.

[ PROBLEM ] Audio Control app wont recognise card properly

Hi
I have a X-Fi ExtremeGamer card in my Win 7 home premium setup and am struggling to set it up properly.
Long story short , I pulled out the X-Fi card and tried the onboard audio as I was getting an issue with the audio playing around using the creative drivers ( volume changes mid song, positional audio in games was often unusal ).
The Realtek stuff wasnt too bad but I wanted to try my X-Fi card again, it is suppose to be better after all.
Anyways...
I disabled the onboard audio , safe mode and cleaned all the realtek drivers out and any lingering creative drivers with Driver Sweeper, used CCleaner to clean up the reg and rebooted.
Installed the BETA drivers from creative and the audio works fine, but when I try use the crystaliser or other SB features the app complains
" The audio device supported by this application is not detected. The application will exit. "
I installed Daniel_K's drivers from a CD ISO he put out a while back, and the applications worked fine but the audio dropped in and out, so I downloaded the official creative drivers for my card and OS, and the application worked fine again but as with Daniels drivers the audio dropped in and out so I reverted to the beta drivers... and the audio dropped in and out as well.
I worked it out to being the volume controls on the creative 5. speakers , which every set of speakers I have bought from creative have had the same issue, the volume slider on the cable... after some use it messes up the audio and it becomes safer just to adjust the volume in the software.
After deciding the issue was with the volume slider on the cable, I wanted to re-install Daniel_K's driver pack so I could access the other features, now it suddenly doesnt recognise the device anymore, nore does the official none beta drivers from creative, nor does the latest PAX drivers ... all report the same issue:
" The audio device supported by this application is not detected. The application will exit. "?
I am starting to tear my hair out here, the audio works and the card is recognised in the Device Manager as 'Creative SB X-Fi' , I have clean the drivers , the registery , used the patch that fixes a bug where the update wouldnt recognise cards properly , re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re-re installed the drivers.... carefully EACH time.
I triple checked I was downloading the Win 7 64bit OS ver of the X-Fi ExtremeGamer drivers.
What now ?
ALSO Who thought it was a bright idea to put up the volume to 87% when you install drivers ? It also unmutes the volume if you mute it before restart, and it puts the volume back up to 87% if you dare to lower the volume before rebooting the PC to complete the install.
( NOTE: It only does this after the initial reboot to complete the install, subsequent re-boots leaves the volume alone )

I give up...
I sent a form to the tech guys , detailing the problem and outlining the steps I took to fix the issue...and they direct me to http://support.creative.com/kb/ShowA...aspx?sid=55438?, oh I can use Device Manager to uninstall , oh and Control Panel - Programs to unistall the Creative stuff ( note: I am being very sarcastic here ).

Creative audio application does not recognise SB X-Fi card , card audio functions just cant control the feature set. Error msg : " The audio device supported by this application is not detected. The application will exit. " Suspect nVidia installing of HD audio drivers causing 4 (four) additional High Definition Audio Devices to appear in the device manager screen. Unable to uninstall these devices as Win7 auto re-reinstalls with generic MS drivers, can only disable. Creative SB X-Fi card listed in audio devices as 2 - SB X-Fi. Suspect the audio control application looks in the first slot and doesnt recognise the device and fails, doesnt look at the 2 ( second slot ? ) Tried a full uninstall including going to safe mode and removing drivers with Driver Sweeper, CCLeaner to clear out registry entries and removed the card, booted to windows without the card , re-seated the card and re-installed the drivers. To avoid installing the incorrect driver on your soundcard, we suggest that you do a full uninstallation using the guidelines, steps provided in our website. Shutdown your PC then take out the card and make sure to place it on another slot. Second, disable your onboard audio and if your graphic card comes with any audio support as well, disable this feature.

I assume you are referring to your Username. If so, follow the directions below. If you are referring to your Apple ID, then don't.
Resetting User Account Password (10.7 +)
1) Boot into your Recovery Partition holding down command + R at the startup chime
2) Select 'Terminal' from your Utilities Menu Bar
3) Type the following bolded command in: resetpassword
4) From the window that appears, select your boot volume and the appropriate user account
5) Type in the new password and confirm the new password
6) Click Save, close this pane and quit Utilities
7) Select your boot volume when presented with choose startup disk and reboot your machine

IPod Nano: Error Message "The USB device has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognise it"

Hi everyone, I just received 2 brand new iPod Nanos for my kids for Christmas, thought I'd be smart and sync them both now before wrapping them so I don't have to be messing around with them on the day. One synced without a problem, then using the same cable, same computer, same USB port, the 2nd one came up with "The USB device has malfunctioned and Windows does not recognise it" I've tried restarting my computer, unplugging and reinserting the USB. Is there anthing else I can try before returning it? Thanking you for any help.

I have solved my problem, I ended up ringing Apple and got an awesome lady who told me to reset it by pressing the sleep button and menu button together for about 10 seconds and once it actually turned on for the first time the computer then recognised it, so it's all good, :-) Thank you lovely lady!

Ive just got my iphone 5 back from being serviced and tunes wont recognise my 'fixed' iphone 5s. All my data was backed up to itunes on my pc and i need to restore it to the phone. Help!!!!

does it show up in my computer as a camera or not at all?
have you tried connecting to other computers to see if it's detected there to verifcy that the conector is not damaged and causing the device not to be recognized by the computer?
