WinDVD bundled with K210 not Vista compatible
I recently purchased a K210 desktop which came with the BluRay drive. The machine came from the factory with Vista 32-bit and WinDVD Platinum as the software for the BLURay drive. When I was unable to play BluRay or HD-DVD disks (WinDVD locks up at "updating AACS key") I checked both Corel and Microsoft websites and they both state that WinDVD Platinum is not Vista compatible.
Lenovo, how can you sell a computer with bundled software that is not compatible with the O/S?

However, I am having almost the same problem with Windows XP SP3. I have tried installing and updating using both an admin class user and the actual Administrator. At first I thought it might be related to Symantec EndPoint until I saw the Vista thread, but I get the same problems even with EndPoint not on the machine. The posted technote (which seems oddly written by the way.. mentioning junctions AND folders?!?) does not cover XP, only Vista. My attempts to translate it over to XP procedures does not get very far.
The install goes fine, but any subsequent updates for the suite fail. Once the failure occurs, InDesign and other apps will refuse to open. I can't even right-click a file in Windows Explorer or it also results in a crash (I am guessing to the CS Drive and Bridge additions to the contextual menu). The main apps that fail to update appear to be the same ones mentioned for Vista:
Adobe Drive and Services update (aka Version Cue client 4.0.1, Creative Suite Infrastructure 1.0.1)
Adobe Version Cue Server 4.0.1 update
Flash Lite 3.1 Update for Adobe Device Central CS4 (aka Device Central 2.1)
Adobe Output Module update for Adobe Bridge CS4 (aka Output Module 2.1)

Luckily we use drive images for our systems so I can hop back to a freshly prepped notebook with out much delay, but given the long CS4 install time this has become a pain to try to solve.

I am trying out Windows?Vista Ultimate Edition Build 6000 (RTM). Contrary to what I have read from these message boards (mainly this post http://forums.creative.com/creativelabs/board/message?board.id=dap&message.id=48598)?and the Knowledge base (ZVM as an MTP device should nati'vely work with WMP, http://us.creative.com/support/kb/article.asp?l=2&sid=486), my ZVM is not being picked up by Vista nati'vely. I must install drivers. But the problem is the XP drivers don't seem to work. Why Toshiba notebooks are not delivered with the common Vista install CD
Our household now has two x Toshiba laptops, both of which were supplied with MS Vista Home Premium pre-installed.
The nature of the Recovery Media provided with these machines is such that (a) we do not have sufficient flexibility over volume/partition sizes, program locations etc., and, more specifically.
It makes it necessary for the majority of the bundled software (Norton Security etc.,) to be installed by default in the event of a system failure. (And immediately uninstalled following recovery! An unnecessary waste of time.)
Bearing in mind that a proportion of the price paid for each laptop must have included a cost for the Vista Operating System, does anyone know if it is possible to obtain a Master Recovery disk which ONLY consists of the operating system, and which allows us the flexibility of configuration which used to be available when the OS was purchased as a separate product.
Additionally, please let me know if it is possible to purchase Toshiba laptops as a RAW machine, i.e no OS supplied, and I will then buy my own and cut out the rubbish which is supplied on the pre-installed media.>Why Toshiba notebooks are not delivered with the common Vista install CD?
The answer is very simple: software is bundled to hardware and when you buy notebook you buy license for preinstalled Vista version and you can install recovery media so often you want and it belongs JUST to your notebook model. It cannot be used with other notebook or PCs.
If you get usual Vista installations DVD it can be installed on each computer system. For such purposes you must buy Microsoft installations DVD.
As you already wrote Toshiba recovery image contains much software that can be not useful for you. You can remove it from the system and nobody force you to use them. I do the same.
After clean OS installation the first thing I do is to remove or software I don't need or I don't like.
I optimise preinstalled OS on my own. -

Would like to upgrade to Dragon Naturally Speaking 11 from DNS 6 (which would also entail a necessary upgrade from Windows 2000 to 7) but understand after all this expense and trouble, DNS upgrade may not be compatible with Firefox 6?

Ideas about how to proceed appreciated!AFAIK, it's been over three years since a WinXP laptop or desktop PC has been sold; I specifically bought a laptop in June 2008 because it was being clearanced by that retail chain to meet Microsoft's deadline, and got it real cheap. It was tagged for the store manager to purchase, but he let me have it because I exceeded his expectations for the services I performed for his store and thought I deserved it. Anything that wasn't made for Vista-compatibility will be very iffy with Win7, IMO - so that basically rules out anything that was made before like Oct or Nov 2007.
Unless another DNS 11 user happens to see this thread and can verify whether it works in Firefox 6.0 or not, I don't what to recommend except for you doing a web search to see what other DNS / Firefox users have to say about compatibility. -
The Bluetooth low energy protocol is not backward compatible with classic Bluetooth protocol.
My iPhone 4s can not find my sonny in-dash player. However my iPhone 3GS does it. Very disappointed with this.

You are correct, Blue tooth low engergy, BTLE.(only) devices are not backward compatible with Classic bluetooth and cannot connect.
However the Apple 4S and above have Bluetooth 4.0 support.. Hardware wise it has bothClassic Bluetooth, like the 3GS, as well as Bluetooth Low Energy. There is no good reason why your 4s cannot communicate to your Sony in-dash player using the Classic bluetooth that resides in the 4S.
I know that this does not answer the why it does not work, but it should work. Do you have to somehow re-pair the new phone up to the player? Not knowing the model of the Sony it is hard to investigate.
And I hate to ask but are you sure that the Bluetooth radio is on in the phone?

The 4.0.1 and 5.0 are two separate versions as installing 4.0.1 over 5.0 will just give you the old 4.0.1 as the end result.
The 5.0 is partially as a security update in place of 4.0.2.
The Skype extension was only for to make it so you can dial phone numbers on a web page in the separate Skype program right so if you were not using it then no need for the Skype extension for the separate Skype application to work. -

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

Good day, my iPad does not seem to pick up my printer. My printer is not AirPrint compatible but is connected to my airport express thru the USB port. My laptop which is windows type connects to the printer via airport express thru bonjour and this work well. My iPad does not pick up my printer thru the airport express. I have read about different software that you can download but this seems to be only if you are using a mac. I know my express is working fine as I can use airplay thru my iPad. Any ideas? I do not want to go to the expense of changing my printer, when there was no mention in the express details that your printer had to be AirPrint compatible or indeed wireless.

Ipod touch does not synch calendar or notes with my Windows Vista PC. I have calendar and notes entries in my Outlook calendar, but they do not synch with my Ipod touch. They used to work fine, but stopped around 2 weeks ago. I connect my ipod to i tunes, but the "info" area of itunes is not allowing me to tick the boxes to synch calendar, outlook, or notes.

We have an issue with Oracle 11g jars not being compatible with WAS 6.1.x versions.
If we use Oracle10g client jars then they are working with the 11g database.

Poor Timeline Playback Performance
I am using Premiere Pro CS4 (version 4.2.1) to edit some footage from my Canon Vixia HG20 (AVCHD). While previewing the clips in the source monitor, they play flawlessly, but as soon as I drop the same clip on the timeline, the playback is very slow.
