Wine-WoW is not maximizing over dock and toolbar anymore

Hi, today I ran a pacman -Syu and it updated both wine and nvidia (among the kernel and other packages). But now when I start World of Warcraft (I run it with wine) it doesn't maximize over the dock and toolbar anymore.
I'm running fluxbox (1.1.1-1) and the following updates were installed:
wine (1.1.5-1 -> 1.1.6-1)
nvidia (177.80-1 -> 177.80-2)
kernel26 (2.6.26.5-1 -> 2.6.27-2)
FEAR runs fine through wine (it still maximizes over dock and toolbar), I have no clue what might cause this weird WoW behaviour.
edit: seems that 1.1.6 is causing some other trouble with WoW to other users as well, so this might be wine's fault and be fixed at some point (or it might have some other reason).

Hi,
I had similar problems when trying to record OpenGL games with FFMpeg CLI. I use the catalyst-test drivers for my AMD HD 6870.
You could try downloading SimpleScreenRecorder via yaourt; get both, including the lib32-simplescreenrecorder.
There will be some conflicts, but choosing to replace some files hasn't caused any problems.
Make sure you have both lib32-libpulse and lib32-alsa-plugins installed (pacman).
Once everything is in set, open SSR (SimpleScreenRecorder); set audio input to:
- Record Microphone
- Backend: PulseAudio
- Source: Monitor of Built-in Audio Analog Stereo
I chose to output as MKV ; H.264 ; MP3 @128
Select Start Recording and fire up WoW. I was able to playback the game-play video (full screen 1920x1080) with audio.
You may need different settings from what I have, notably the audio, but it should record in full screen mode.

Create an album and drag them into the album. Then you can easily select all of them in the album and email.

Mail will not open from dock and wont allow me to shut down, Help?

You can try to Force Quit the Mail application by using the keys OPTION COMMAND ESC, from the window that pops up select Mail and clcik force quit.
Have you tried launching Mail from your Applications folder? It launches properly, drag the icon off the dock, it should vanish in a puff of smoke, you can then go to the Applcations folder and drag the Mail icon back to the dock to create a new shortcut.

After Prism scandal: Urge to sync data (Notes / Reminders) over USB and NOT with iCloud

After the PRISM scandal I even want so much more to sync ALL relevant data between iOS and Mountain Lion Apps over iTunes (USB or WLAN).
I am very disappointed in the (still) missing choice of means of sync for some data.
Or am I missing something?
Is there a possiblity to sync notes and reminders between a Mac and an iPhone over iTunes (USB)?
If there isn't any:
I don't understand, why you can choose for most of the data,
but not for notes and reminders.
Here the data you have the choice to sync over iTunes (USB or WLAN):

Many big companies like Amazon, Sony, Valve and others had problems with hackers.
And even I trust Apple very much, Apple can't promise absolute security of data saved in iCloud.

IPhone 4 not working in docks/car stereo anymore...

Hi guys,
I've done a lot of searching and it seems I'm not along with this issue, although none of the previous solutions have worked for me.
My iPhone 4 (os6) has recently stopped working with docks - in that, it'll charge but now allow any music playack, all of a sudden
This is a major problem for me as it also means it no longer works in conjunction with my car stereo!
So far I have;
-: cleaned the dock connector on the iPhone and on the car lead
-: tried different iPhones in my car (with the same setup - 4 + os6) in my car and they work fine
-: tried resetting and restoring my iPhone from backup, twice
-: tried the iPhone in different docks at home with no luck
Any idea why this is happening? Any suggestions?

I have an alpine W404 deck. It exhibited the problems you mentioned on this thread. The only way I was able to fix the problem was to do the following:
1) If you have an iphone. Backup all contacts, notes, emails and calendar to your MAC or mobileme as this process will wipe all of the data and apps from the device. Regardless of type, backup ALL apps to itunes. Perform a FULL sync.
2) Connect the idevice to your machine and launch itunes.
3) Click on restore to factory settings in itunes.
4) When it asks you if you wish to use the settings backup. ANSWER NO.
5) Once this is completely performed. Sync your iphone back up with mail, apps etc etc etc.
VERY IMPORTANT!
6) Once you are satisfied that all is back to normal with your idevice, bring it to your car and press and HOLD BOTH the off switch and the main (Square) button simutaneously...keep it held down even when the slider to switch off the device shows up. Once the screen is completely black. Turn it back on and connect it to your deck.
PRESTO.
It works.

Glitchy Dock and toolbar after Mavericks update

my dock is now "glitchy" as well as the toolbars at the top of each screen.
To provide more detail, anytime time I hover my mouse on the bottom of the screen to bring up the dock it seems to stutter as the dock animation comes up. Also click on any window to drag across the screen seems to lag + stutter as well. I am running multiple displays but I've tried it both with multiple displays and without.
Stats:
Retina, 15-inch, Late 2013 (Haswell)
2 External DVI displays
NVIDIA GeForce GT 750M 2048 MB
16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
OS X 10.9.2 (13C64)

So I booted into recovery and did a time machine restore and the problem no longer exists. While I'm not sure whats wrong with the latest update but it causes some bad UI problems.

Custom Border painting over scrollpane and toolbar

I found a LineNumberBorder class in these here forums (I'll post this same question there too) and adapted it to add line numbers to a JTextPane derived class.
When the border is added to the textpane it paints line numbers to the left of each line in the editor.
When this composite (textpane and border) is added to a tabbedpane, all is well, unless I switch to another window. When I come back to the editor, the line numbers are being painted beyond the top and/or bottom of the jscrollpane.

The LineNumberBorder just extends AbstractBorder which extends Object, so there can't be any issues about mixing heavy weight and light weight components... can there?
I'm stumped. The border is painting all the line numbers, as I would expect from the code, but the Scrollpane isn't hiding them. The numbers paint right on top of surrounding components until some action on my part causes those comps to explicitly repaint themselves.
Any ideas? Anyone?

Keyboard not storing short cuts and phrases anymore in iOS7?

I updated to iOS7 and realised that the keybord shortcuts that I used to have in my iOS6 no longer work on the iOS7, Even if I did try to enter a shortcut manually by going into the keyboard section in the settings, it does not store the short cut. It can get really annoying once you have gotten used to the short cuts while texting and I happen to text a lot. Any of you guys have a solution for me?

Hey Mani, I also have this issue but with my I-Mac since I updated to Mavericks. And it also freaks me out... But with my Mac Book and I Phone it still works under IOS7.. strange.. So far no one responded.. So I will see if there is a solution for this.

If I switch to iCloud, Outlook for Mac is not synchronizing with iCal and iCloud anymore. Is there a solution for this problem?

I normally use Outlook for Mac as the standard email and calendar programm. When I use the USB cable fro synchronising contacts and calendars with my iPhone 4s ther is not problem at all. iCal, Mail and Oulook for Mac are synchronising perfectly.
When I switch to iCloud, Oulook is completely empty and Calendar and Contacts are not synchronised anymore.
Is this a known problem, and is there a solution for it?

I have the same keyboard and do not have battery issues.
It may have something to do with using rechargeable batteries.
You can also try removing the keyboard then re-pairing it. Maybe a bad bluetooth connection is draining the battery.
System Preferences > Bluetooth > right-click (control-click) on the keyboard > Remove > Remove
Wait for it to show in the bluetooth list then Pair > enter the number sequence & return as displyed on the screen.

Drummer Track can not find the players and presets anymore,whats the problem?

When i open a Drummer Track, there are no players, no presets and no editing anymore possible.
After Installation of Logix Pro X everthing was runing maybe 2 weeks perfect, also the Drummer Track.
On my Mac Book Pro everything is running also without Problems.
Someone knows, what i can do ?
How is it possible, to make again the Installation of Logic Pro X from the App-Store?
I think, this would be a chance to overwrite the old Version, to finish the problem.

After delete the folder: Macintosh HD/Library/Application Support/Logic/Drummer
and reinstall everything was ok.

Access Connections: proxy + homepage settings not taken over in Firefox and IE since upgrade to 5.0

I got a really annoying problem since upgrading to AC 5.0: both in IE 6.0 and FF 3.0 the proxy and homepage settings are not taken over when switching the network profiles. A first attempt based on a statement found here

seemed to look succesful. (for non Germans: they have solved a crash-problem while creating new profiles in reducing the size of FF's prefs.js file to a value under 45 kB). I had a similar problem, too, and solved it in this way. Also the proxy issue seemed to look better then but but only for some days. Now its the same again, proxy and homepage (did by the way never work with AC 5.0) do still not have any effect on IE and FF.
What's the reason? Has anyone solved or at least experienced this problem?

Stopped working on 5.0. Upgraded to 5.02 through System Update, continued to not work. Have deleted all profiles, recreated: Still doesn't work. Have uninstalled Access Connections, reinstalled: Still doesn't work. Doublechecked settings in profiles, verified that check box is on in order to get Access Connections to do its thing.
Both IE 6.0.2900.5512.xpsp.080413-211 (that is, the system proxy and home page settings) and Firefox 3.0.1 are affected.
Turned on log file; there were 152 lines of error message, included below, some of which clearly make reference to Firefox. Don't know what's wrong. Some kind of permission thing?

I've got a much bigger file that contains the log when switching back and forth. There's other error messages in there, too: Missing PID, etc. Any ideas?

If you have an iPad 1, the max iOS is 5.1.1. For newer iPads, the current iOS is 6.1. The Settings>General>Software Update only appears if you have iOS 5.0 or higher currently installed.

If you are currently running an iOS lower than 5.0, connect the iPad to the computer, open iTunes. Then select the iPad under the Devices heading on the left, click on the Summary tab and then click on Check for Update.

"This accessory is not supported" usually refers to an inability to charge the iPod, but the music should still play throguh the Bose dock. My iPod Touch works this way.
However, when the Bose refuses to make any sound, I unplug it from mains power for one minute. Then plug it back in and try again. This always sorts out the sound issue, but of course, it still will not charg the Touch.
What happens in your case?
