Wine x64 - odd xorg errors
i'm getting real odd 'glxbaddrawable' errors from trying to launch simcity 4 under 32 bit wine in x86_64 arch; odd in a quite litteral sense: it only seems to happen 'every other time'.
i'll get the crash on an 'glxbadrawable' error only about half or a third of the time; the rest of the time the game launches fine. which leaves me really puzzled as to where to start debugging this. i've tried different combinations of using built-in or native d3d wine libraries; and i've tried under different ati drivers / xorg-server's .. etc..
it's just annoying to have to try and launch it two or three times every time..
any ideas ???
(ill gather the outputs and attach em to this post in a short while)
yes im using it software mode ...
in fact, i've been trying to run the sims 3 as well, which is also supposed to work find, and i'm getting the exact same errors. ive read all about the different registery tips and tricks and none seem to have any effect on that.
i've also come to the conclusion that i can't seem to be able to run direct 3d at all on my system. if i used hardware acceleration in simcity for instance, i get about 5 frames per second on everything ... with the sims 3, when it does launch (again, roughly 25 percent of the time...), it just stalls there as soon as it tries to render the EA logo after which it dies a painful death some moments later...
even worse, i recently can't even seem to get anything to start at all ... i get a bunch of fixme: and err: messages about d3d and wined3d and after a while i get this " err:seh:setup_exception_record stack overflow XXX bytes in thread XXX" errors and eveyrthing dies ...

JAVA_HOME space win x64
Okay the problem is famous : on win x64 java is not recognized if set JAVA_HOME = C:\Program Files\1\Java\jdk1.8.0_25 neither if set JAVA_HOME ="C:\Program Files\Java\jdk1.8.0_25" and neither JAVA_HOME ="C:\Progra~1\Java\jdk1.8.0_25" despite a tons of web pages that indicate to use this last setting (Maven: tricky JAVA_HOME setting | Xinotes ) .
Then what is the solutions ? maybe the unique solution is to install java in a folder without space ?If you are suggesting that when you type "java" at the command line it doesn't work regardless of how you set JAVA_HOME then the solution to that is simple (and true for all versions of windows)...use the environment variable "PATH" instead.
You can use JAVA_HOME from a 3rd party app that wants the location of a java VM. (There are problems with that for serious applications because they would not normally run with any arbitrary VM but only the ones they are tested for.) -
Src/Win/WinFile.cpp-754" error
I’m using PPRO in Production Premium CS4.
I’m getting the “Src/Win/WinFile.cpp-754” error” when I AME starts or shortly after it starts. System worked fine since I installed the CS4 upgrade 4 months ago but today a project is due and this happens.
My system: Dell Precision 690, 3Ghz Xeon processor, 4 GB ram, Internal HDs (1) 300 and (1) 400 GB, External HDs (2) 1 TB.
I’ve read and searched the forums and now I’m frustrated and in need of some help. Has anyone found definitive solution to this “Src/Win/WinFile.cpp-754” problem?
Thanks,
TonyHi,
I searched the internet with that error mssg and it seems a lot of them have to do with video card drivers. There was some information about matrox drivers and that problem on the internet...
Also some 'Axio' card driver problems related to that error message...
Have you recently updated your video card drivers ?

GoldenGate for Big Data 12c for Win x64?
I was looking for the GoldenGate for Big Data download for Win x64 and all I found on edelivery was Linux, Solaris, HP-UX and AIX platforms, but no Windows at all (see the screenshot below). I wonder if it's been released yet? Or, is it just an unfortunate omission?
Thanks
AndyThanks, for your reply, Karan!
I tried following your advice, but bumped into yet another similar problem. I've installed OGG 12c and now I can't seem to be able to find the matching version of the GG Application Adapters for JMS and Flat File for the Win x64 platform. The latest version of Application Adapter available on edelivery is 11.1.1.0.0 which means I need to downgrade OGG to the same version. No big deal but I wanted to make sure I'm not missing anything.
I wonder if anybody has any idea as to whether Application Adapters 12c for JMS and Flat File is available for the Win x64 platform, and if so, where can I download it from?
Thanks

Upgrade from Win 32 to X64 Configuration- HashTrailingSlash error.
Hi,
We upgrading from VS2008 to VS2013. In our product we have 3 solution(.sln) files (for server, rep and client).
Server and rep migrated successfully to VS2013 with .vcxproj and filters files created
In client solution file we have some win32 configuartion projects and we successfully converted them into x64 configuration and .vcxproj files updates successfully.
I did checked in all .vcxproj, filters and .sln files into version control tool.
In another window machine which has build environment I did synced all the files and successfully build server and rep using respective .sln files.
But in client solution file many projects fails loading with the below error
Reloading the projects fails with below error
Upon looking at MS support site and other sites which suggests not to have semicolon(;)in the path provided. But the other 2 solution files builds successfully with the same environment (paths) set. We
did tried building whole client solution, it’s failing with following error
Does anyone has the solution for this problem?
Appreciate your response.
-ThanksMaheshHi Mahesh,
Thank you for posting in the MSDN forum.
Which kind of projects did you upgrade from the VS2008 to VS2013? Is it the simple VC++ console project or others?
>> In client solution file we have some win32 configuration projects and we successfully converted them into x64 configuration and .vcxproj files updates successfully.
Do you mean that you add the new configuration under Build->Configuration manager?
https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/9yb4317s.aspx
To make sure that whether you upgrade your solution successfully, please open your projects, and then clean and rebuild your whole solution in Solution Explorer windows using the VS2013, if you get any error messages or warning messages,
you have to resolve them one by one.
>> I did checked in all .vcxproj, filters and .sln files into version control tool.
Do you mean that you use the TFS-version control? Anyway, my suggestion is that you would check whether you could build your project locally before you check in it with version control tool.
Best Regards,
Jack

Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 - Windows Update Errors...
Hello,
I've a windows 2008 R2 Enterprise SP1 server that I've applied Windows updates to this evening. A large number were successful, however there are 13 that will not install and keep on failing. I've run sfc/scannow which found and repaired some
errors - restarted server - no difference.
Please see windowsupdate.log output below (apologies for the length). I've tried installing individual updates from the 13 but it makes no difference and the errors are just the same. It seems to be the same error for each update although unfortunately doesn't
mean much to me. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks gents.

Adobe Media Encoder has encountered an error.
[..\..\Src\Win\WinFile.ccp-754]
======================================
I have paid a small fortune to get the Masters Collection CS4, and after a few months of using it, I get this error for no reason!
It happens everytime I try to encode files in Adobe MEdia Encoder CS4 (Fully Updated) like music, home videos ect to different formats so I can share them with family.
My system: HP Pavilion DV9700 500GB HDD, 512Mb NVideo Geforce, 4Gb DDR2 RAM, Vista Ultimate x64.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
JustinI get this error for no reason!
You are wrong. There is a reason. What the reason is, is hard to discern due to lack of information. Look at this link closely, read the included link to the WIKI and reply to the 16 questions asked at the end of the article if you have not yet found the solution with all the steps outlined: Some suggestions -
Hello
Im currently having some issues with Premiero Pro (via creative suite 6) on a Windows 8 64 bit machine after reinstalling due to an error resulting in the encoding sequence crashing/hanging and remaining on 0% indefinitly
Video and audio were both taken via the same machine and are both in .MP4 format. The project will render correctly however will not export
Upon selection of export with match sequence settings enabled I receive the error box saying:
Premiere Pro Debug Event
Premiere Pro has encountered an error.
[..\...Src\Win\Winfile.cpp-814]
Upon closing the error the screen returns back to the work space. with an error box saying:Error compiling movie - unknown error. After this it again shows the infinite encoding screen.
I have tried uninstalling the programme and running any updates etc however I am unable to get it to work.
Would really appreciate an answer to this.Uninstalling and reinstalling is in itself a pain.
Many thanksI can't give direct help with that error, but some reading that MAY help... These notes are (mostly) for Encore, but some ideas that may help
As well as the below, right click the program icon and select Run as Administrator, which is NOT the same thing as running the computer with the Administrator account, and which fixes several "odd" problems...

Wondering what can cause this issue, if anyone can help me get a "non-corrupted" one in the database. thanks.

Two possible problems: I recompiled xorg previously with srcpac. And I also recently was trying to get xorg recompiled again, but it oddly just refused to respond to reinstalling, so i might have damaged the database trying to force things to work. I'm a dip-wad...Bysshe wrote:
Hey, that worked. Thanks alot.
I just thought that using $pacman -Sc twice would clear the cache, but apparently, it doesn't, or it's referring to something else I don't know about.
Or should that be pacman -Scc?
Yes, to totally clear the cache, use:
pacman -Scc -

Thank you in advance for your help.
Win 8.1 was already installed, but due to a crash Win 8 has been renewed. All necessary updates are already made.

Odd Bursting error i haven't seen before... maybe you have?
Running into an odd error when trying to run the 'XML Publisher Report Bursting Program' on a request that contains XML data generated from a datatemplate... if their is an RTF template associated with the data definition get the output with no issues.
My problem is when i try to burst the file using an email delivery type...
If something was wrong w/ the XML data i would think it would the request generating the data would fail, or at least fail when their is an rtf template associated with it?
Metalink isn't turning out to much info either... "shrug"

Odd compile errors using a struct in a vector
I am following Accelerated C++ by Koenig and Moo to learn C++, using Eclipse as my IDE and the MinGW tool chain. Chapter 4 teaches about the struct concept using a pretty simple multi-file example program which emulates reading in a series of student grades and outputs the averages. The struct it defines is called Student_info. Here is Student_info.h:
#ifndef STUDENT_INFO_H_GUARD
#define STUDENT_INFO_H_GUARD
#include <iostream>
#include <string>
#include <vector>
struct Student_info {
std::string name;
double midterm, final;
std::vector<double> homework;
bool compare(const Student_info&, const Student_info&);
std::istream& read(std::istream&, Student_info);
std::istream& read_hw(std::istream&, std::vector<double>&);
#endif /* STUDENT_INFO_H_GUARD */
There are no errors associated with compare, read or read_hw.
The problem I am having is that even though the simple variable declaration below seems to work,
#include "Student_info.h"
int main() {
vector<Student_info> students;
Student_info record;
string::size_type maxlen = 0;
in the sense that the Eclipse code editor signals via i) its color coding that it has found the data type; ii) when I mouseover, it shows me the underlying Student_info definition in the hover box; and iii) the code associated with the variable "record" doesn't generate errors.
However, when I try to use the students vector within main(), I get 'could not be resolved' errors on the property names or 'invalid arguments' for functions which try to pass the variables. For example,
for(vector<Student_info>::size_type i=0; i!=students.size(); ++i) {
cout << students[i].name
<< string(maxlen+1 - students[i].name.size(), ' ');
produces a "Method 'size' could not be resolved" error and a "Field 'name' could be resolved" error.
It's very odd to me, as I said, because mouseover of the vector students declaration at the beginning of main() produces a hover box with the correct struct definition, indicating the include file is being found and contains the intended definition with the 'name' property defined as a string.
I've been trying to solve this for a couple of days and have searched the web and this site, as well as going over all the code many times. The code seems to be exactly what is in the book and it's not too difficult to figure out what it is supposed to be doing. I haven't been able to find a similar error description here or elsewhere by Googling. These errors prevent the project from compiling and so I can't precede. I'm hoping someone can describe what might possibly cause such a thing.
Here's a shortened version of the file with main in it:
#include <algorithm>
#include <iomanip>
#include <ios>
#include <iostream>
#include <string>
#include <vector>
#include <stdexcept>
#include "Student_info.h"
//say what standard library names we use
using std::cin; using std::setprecision;
using std::cout; using std::sort;
using std::domain_error; using std::streamsize;
using std::endl; using std::string;
using std::max; using std::vector;
int main() { // begin main
vector<Student_info> students;
Student_info record;
string::size_type maxlen = 0;
//read and store all the records, and find the length
// of the longest name
while(read(cin, record)) {
maxlen = max(maxlen, record.name.size());
students.push_back(record);
//alphabetize the records
sort(students.begin(), students.end(), compare);
for(vector<Student_info>::size_type i=0; i!=students.size(); ++i) {
// write the name, padded on the right to maxlen+1 chars
cout << students[i].name
<< string(maxlen+1 - students[i].name.size(), ' ');
//compute and write the grade
cout << endl;
return 0;
} // end main
Here are the 'read' functions, which are in a separate file from main and don't seem to be producing any errors:
#include "Student_info.h"
using std::istream; using std::vector;
istream& read_hw(istream& in, vector<double>& hw) {
if (in) {
// get rid of previous contents
hw.clear();
// read homework grades
double x;
while (in >> x)
hw.push_back(x);
// clear the stream so that input will work for the
// next student
in.clear();
return in;
istream& read(istream& is, Student_info s) {
// read and store the student's name and midterm and final exam
is >> s.name >> s.midterm >> s.final;
read_hw(is, s.homework);
return is;
bool compare(const Student_info& x, const Student_info& y) {
return x.name < y.name;
}Do you mind to try:
for(unsigned i=0; i < students.size(); ++i)
instead of :
for(vector<Student_info>::size_type i=0; i!=students.size(); ++i) -
