Winndows running programs after CS4 install ?

Hope this is the right place for this....I've noticed there are 6-8 new programs running on windows startup after installing CS4 webdesign premium ?  Are all these necessary...or can I delete them from starting on windows startup...?...for instance one of these is Adobe Version Cue CS4 ?
If I disable these new strtups...will it negativly affect CS 4 program operations...?
Thanks, TR

He's talking about a suite not a program.

    Hope this is the right place for this....I've noticed there are 6-8 new programs running in task manager on windows startup after installing CS4 webdesign premium ?  Are all these necessary...or can I delete them from starting on windows startup...?...for instance one of these is Adobe Version Cue CS4 ?
    If I disable these new startups...will it negatively affect CS 4 program operations...or will the simply start upon the individual apps launch ?
    Running XP Pro sp3 and all CS4suite apps up to date
    Thanks, TR

    If I don't need it I don't want it ?  What is Version Cue and what does acrotray do ?
    Other startup programs that are now running:
    Acrobat Assistant 8.0     -  acrotray.exe
    Adobe Acrobat Speed Launcher   - acrobate_sl.exe
    Adobe_ID0ENQBO     -   versioncuecs4tray.exe
    Adobe.Acrobat.ContextMenu   -  contextmenu.dll
    Adobe Drive CS4   =  adfsmenu.dll
    Adobe LM Service  -   adobelmsvc.exe
    Adobe Version Cue CS4   =  versioncuecs.exe
    I think that's it.  Will CS4 run ok with these disabled or not loading at system startup ?
    Thanks

    My computer is running slow after Yosemite install -but in the Mail program, when I open an email and then open the attachment -all is good -when I close the attachment the Mail program goes away, and I have to reopen it in my Dock -every time.

    I tried this, but no luck. I went to Previous System>Users. There is nothing inside the "Users" folder, so I hit a dead end.
    I can find my new e-mails -- those that came in since I re-installed the system -- in my NEW system (which I did to see if I was correctly understanding the advice), by going to Users>Home>Library>Mail>POP account name>Inbox.
    Let me add a new question: I am running PhotoShop C3. It opens OK, and I can use it, but when it opens I get this message: "One or more files for Adobe Application Support folder are missing. Please re-run the PhotoShop installer."
    I don't like re-installing working programs if I can avoid it, because it always seems to lead to other issues. Any idea what files are missing, and where it/they might be in the Previous System folder?
    thanks

  • Solution to High CPU Utilisation With *Nothing* Running After CS4 Install on Mac OS 10.6.1.

    I'm posting this in case someone else has the same problem. (If anyone else even notices the problem.)
    Another possible title [to help with people searching for the solution] "Computer runs slow after installing CS4 on Mac OS 10.6.1 Snow Leopard"
    I just purchased CS4 Design Premium and have been trying to install it on a fresh install of Snow Leopard (10.6.1) and whilst everything appears to be fine, my CPU sits at 60% with *every* application closed. The instant I uninstall CS4 the CPU drops back to 1-2%. I've conducted this test twice already---that is installed CS4 on a fresh Snow Leopard twice over.
    To be clear this isn't resolved by restarting, as is the solution to one known bug mentioned in the CS4 read-me.
    I did eventually solve the problem. The tech support guy at Adobe was useless, even though I told him that I had re-installed twice and once re-installed Snow Leopard, he had me run the Adobe cleaning utility thingy. Three hours of re-installing (for the third time) and another 700MB of updates (from my precious download quota) and I was exactly back to where I started.
    Then when the updates for Version Cue and Adobe Drive failed to install, it got me thinking. Looking at the box it states that Java is needed for Version Cue Server. That being a unique requirement and the update for that particular program failing, sent me on the search. I eventually found the directory containing Version Cue Server and moved it. I next planned to restart but I didn't have to, the instant I moved the directory my CPU usage plummeted from 60% to 1%.
    I've been working on this for days and all I had to do was issue the command.
    mv /Library/Application\ Support/Adobe/Adobe\ Version\ Cue\ CS4/Server ~/Disabled
    *sigh*
    David.

    Thank you for posting this, I just spent the last 72 hours trying to figure out why my macbook was suddenly burning up my lap (and my battery) without any visible processes in Activity Monitor. This is a pretty major bug (and not the first major one by Adobe on mac) but I am just glad that I didn't need to do a full reinstall. Getting rid of Version Cue takes care of the problem straight out. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction, hopefully others will find this before trying to track down other sources.

  • Strange yellow color cast after CS4 install

    I just ran into a strange problem helping a friend install PS CS4. Everything seemed to go fine, but now all of a sudden his images are displayed with a strong yellow tint. I don't mean a slight color cast, I mean a STRONG yellow tint. The images appear the same in Photoshop, the Bridge, and even ACR. I re-calibrated the monitor (Gretag McBeth) and generated a new profile just be sure, but that wasn't it. The same images viewed in other applications (Picassa, opened in a browser, etc.) on the same computer display normally. This appears to be only Photoshop related. What's also interesting is that CS3 now exhibits the same problem after the CS4 install.
    I reviewed all the color settings and workflow, and nothing is out of the ordinary. The Nikon raw images were imported via ACR, and opened in Photoshop with ACR workflow options set for 16 bit/Adobe RGB. Photoshop working space is Adobe RGB. I also installed the 11.0.1 update. But here are what may be a couple of clues. First, it's not just the image files that look bad. The colors are awful in the color picker in the toolbox. The entire color picker slider is almost all yellow and orange. And here's another good one. We tried importing some new raw images via the photo downloader in Bridge. With the downloader in Advanced mode, the image previews before download show the same yellow cast. But after I click the Get Photos button, the image colors appear correct as they flash on for a couple of seconds while being downloaded. This has got to be a big clue for someone. What's different about how the image is displayed during that two second preview during the actual download?
    The PC hardware is a 3.2Ghz Pentium 4 Dell tower (2G ram) running XP Pro w/SP3, with a nVidia GeForce 7800 graphics card, and the screen resolution is 1024x768. I'm thinking maybe a graphics card issue or corrupted system profiles, but I'm a Mac and he's a PC so my PC troubleshooting skills are limited.
    Has anyone else seen a problem like this before?? Any ideas? Thanks!
    Ed

  • [solved]Running programs after extracting from a tarball

    Hi, I'm wondering if it's possible to run a program after extraction from the tarball archive? I know that you can use the official packages, the AUR, or build your own package, but I'm just curious. I downloaded the firefox nightly 64bit linux tar.gz file and extracted it to my /home folder. Double clicking the firefox executable simply brings up a prompt that tells me to choose an application to open it, and in bash it says that command is not found, even though I went to the correct directory. Any ideas?

    1. You probably need to give it executable permissions. 2. The title of this thread is misleading, I thought you were going to ask if you could run a program from inside a tarball (which I don't believe is possible, but I don't know). 3. This is a bad idea; just install it using the AUR or write a PKGBUILD yourself.
    Keeping programs around in your ~ is silly.
    All the best,

  • Running Program after SQL Change

    Hello Everybody,
    I'm looking for a bit of advice on how to handle a situation.
    I've currently written a program that takes information from a SQL database and exports it out of SAP. The information is then run through an encryption and stored somewhere else remotely. The program right now runs every 48 hours. Though the question now is that the customer wants the information up-to-date at all times. When a user makes a change to the database, he wants the information to be exported and encrypted afterwards.
    Can you with SAP automatically launch a program after a change to a database? Or create a sort of listener? If so, how would you approach the situation?

    I have two ideas on how to handle this situation.
    the 1st is easy to implement, but is the worse one from point of system quality. Run a program in batch every minute, checking wheather there are new oder modified entries by reading the date of modification of the datasets, e.g. select all datasets being edited or created within the last minute.
    The better way is to find a user exit before saving the dataset. Start your function module to sent the data to the external database in this user exit.

    'NoClassFound' this type run error is displaying the textpad editor, after installing the jDeveloper. Before installing the JDeveloper it was running properly from textpad through jdk 5,
    Now it is showing the above error.
    Though from the jdeveloper run engine the same program is running properly.
    where it is conflicting? i know jdeveloper got its own java exe and compiler, is it making any prob wid da jdk 5 exe and compiler?
    plz let me know?

    Let me understand: you have a Mac Pro (this forum) or G5? totally different.
    Why not backup the home directory and then erase and install? that works.
    Your hardware profile etc says "10.3.9" and while it is possible to do an update in place from panther to tiger, it really works best to reformat and install (after backup up everything obviously).

  • Strange item in desktop dropdown list after CS4 installed

    Since installing CS4, there is a new item in the dropdown list when I
    right-click on my desktop
    The new item is "Adobe Drive CS4". It has two items showing under it. They
    are "Connect to", and "New Project". The "New Project" is greyed out, even
    when Photoshop CS4 is running.
    Can anyone advise me what this is all about?? CS3 is still installed, but I
    will be removing it shortly. But it did not create any such item in the
    list.
    Ron Hirsch

    OK, so I now know what it is. But why is it there in the dropdown listing?
    If I click on "connect to", a small window opens, And, this last time that
    the window opened, it actually had text in it explaining what you did
    explain. Previous times had nothing in the box explaining anything.
    I don't feel I have any need for Version Cue or Adobe Drive CS4, but I see
    no way to change anything there. I did not install Verson Cue when I
    installed CS4. I don't see it in my Windows services listing, nor in the
    list of many startup items. I'd like to uninstall Adobe Drive CS4. I see a
    listing the XP programs window of "Adobe Drive CS4". But I see no path to
    get rid of that. Is there a path to do so?
    A new search in Google turned up the following
    ++++++++++++++++++++++++++++
    Any of you who have installed Adobe CS4 will know you will get a context
    menu entry for Adobe CS4 Drive, even if you chose not to install the actual
    program so effectively the entry is useless. After some googling and
    experimenting found two ways to remove it.
    1. Install & Uninstall
    Install Adobe CS4 Drive using the installer then uninstall it. This seems to
    get rid of it.
    2. Manual Remove
    Open Regedit and delete these two entries.

  • ITunes runs okay after fresh install, but freezes when I go to the store, or automatic download begins

    I posted the other evening about installing iTunes and then using a Library on a drive other than 'C.' I got this to work, used the old library file, iTunes creates a new one, freezes for a bit, and everything in those folders displays fine. Once iTunes starts to download two recent purchases, the program freezes. The downloads come in fine, but it takes hours before it shuts down by itself after clicking the exit button. Tonight I start it again. Everything is fine until I try to enter the store. The program freezes. Also, purchases in the cloud do not display, which may be due to the old library. I've never had any issues with iTunes in the many years I've been using it. Do I need to simply reinstall, create a NEW library on the separate drive, and then migrate existing material to the newly-created library? How do I get my purchases in the cloud (TV, Film, since all of my music is on the drive) to display so I can download them at will? I'm completely at a loss. ITunes used to be a lot easier to manage. I used to have libraries split between drives with no problem. I realize I've listed several broad problems here, so if I need to work through them one at a time, please tell me where to begin, or which specific info is needed to help you wiser folks help get my iTunes running once more.
    Thanks in advance!

    So I just learned that Apple now charges you for support to use their software if you're not a MAC user, but they still want me to purchase from their store, which I cannot use because the software is bugging out. Sense when did Apple become Microsoft? This is partly the reason I stopped buying pre-fab PCs, and just use their OS because I have to have it for work. I'd switch to Linux in a second if I could use my work-related software and had a player that could play iTunes proprietary content, since I've spent an obscene amount of income with them since 2005. I was hoping someone would stop by and give a hint of a solution, but I guess I'll figure it out on my own like I have to do when software designed for MS goes buggy. Maybe I'll rate this as solving my own problem and collect the 10 points. lol  Thanks to everyone to stopped by and read the problem.

  • Unable to install Adobe Acrobat 8.1.0 after CS4 install

    I have no idea why this could be, but I have recently installed Adobe CS4 Web Standard without Dreamweaver, then Dreamweaver CS5 edition on a clean install and as I was about to install Adobe Acrobat 8.1.0 from an installation CD I got this message:
    "Setup has detected that you already have a more functional product installed.  Setup will now terminate.
    Thing is... I never installed Adobe Acrobat on this machine after the rebuilt, and I can't see it in the listing  of my installed programs, so why do I get this message?
    I would like to know, what can I do that Adobe Acrobat 8.1.0 continues with the install.
    Are there applications in CS4 that send this false alarm of Acrobat already being on the machine?
    Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Have you looked at the add/remove programs list to be sure there is no part of Acrobat there? You might use a registry cleaner (MS or CC typically) to clean out any related issues for Acrobat. I agree with you conclusion if AA has never been installed, but CS4 may have been the culprit in the installation process.

    Hello, rajeysh.
    Thank you for your reply, I have tried this method but it did not work, the problem remains the same.
    Please notice that with the reference you've quoted the error is java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/sysman/emSDK/common/nls/MessageBundle while mine reports the error java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: oracle/help/Help.

  • Can't run programs after update

    I'm running a MacBook Air. I ran the software updates yesterday. I've also run Repair Disk Permission (multiple times).
    I'm not getting responses when I try to run any program (Safari, Bento, MSFT Office programs, Force Quit, anything!
    Also, machine won't properly shut down or restart.
    Unfortunately, I also can't get to Time Machine backups from my IMac: The following disk image couldn't be opened, user's MacBook Air.sparsebundle, Resource temporarily unavailable.

    Thanks so much teekay! Okay I just did a series of tinkerings, constant "systemctl restart sickbeard" + "systemctl --system daemon-reload"'s and finally I got it working. What seemed to be wrong was having sickbeard.service in the wrong place and/or not symlinked properly, as well as I had the wrong group in "Group=" line in sickbeard.service. Also, the "ExecStart" line had "datadir=/opt/sickbeard" which had to be taken out. In case anyone else runs into this:
    [Unit]
    Description=SickBeard Daemon
    #After=network.target
    [Service]
    Type=simple
    User=bobby
    Group=users
    #ExecStart=/usr/bin/env python2 /opt/sickbeard/SickBeard.py --config /opt/sickbeard/config.ini --datadir /opt/sickbeard
    ExecStart=/usr/bin/env python2 /opt/sickbeard/SickBeard.py --config %h/.sickbeard/config.ini
    [Install]
    WantedBy=multi-user.target
    This is the sickbeard.service file which I put in /usr/lib/systemd/system/, and then made a symlink to it from /etc/systemd/system/multi-user.target.wants. Finally I reloaded the daemons after restarting the sickbeard and it's up (tested in browser as well of course):
    sickbeard.service loaded active running SickBeard Daemon
      Thanks for the help!

  • What's the proper way to remove CS3 after CS4 install without screwing up Acrobat?

    During CS4 installation, I had some serial number issues with Acrobat. It turns out that even though Acrobat is part of the creative suite, the licensing for it is different. I've got all of that sorted out now and CS4 is successfully installed. Now I need to remove CS3, but I don't want to remove any shared components that would disable or affect Acrobat.
    Should I just remove the CS3 folders in my Applications folder or should I use the CS3 Uninstaller?

    I can't run any of the CS3 apps because of the Acrobat licensing issue that I mentioned earlier. Therefore, they're just taking up hard drive space now. I also have a suspicion that CS4 and CS3 might be sharing resources? Can't quantify that but quitting CS4 apps takes forever and shutting down the machine after quitting CS4 apps takes even longer.
