Winsoft, CS4 ME, Media

I wonder if anybody could confirm that she/he is using the ME version of InDesign and got the software on CD - not the download version from the Winsoft website.
Why? Well, I ordered the Adobe Design Standard CS4 ME on January 4th, 2009 (according to the info on their website, this version was already available).
Nothing was or is mentioned that the software is not available on CD.
Six weeks later I received their info by e-mail (quote):
"First we appologize for our late reply and we are sorry to hear that you got problems in getting your product.
Are you still waiting for the installation Media? I confirm that a shipment left France at the beginning of February.
So you should now receive the installation Media. Please confirm.
By the way I would like to emphasize that it was not Grapheast Jordans fault regarding the delay in dispatching the media CD.
We faced problem here in manufacturing the Cds... Which is now hopefully solved.
Sorry again for the inconvenience caused and we hope that you are fully enjoying your products."
Actually, until today I'm still waiting for the media. Therefore my question, does anybody indeed have the CD of that software?
Thanks,
Alois

"Maybe there was too many orders in Jordan?" LOL !
Actually it seems (or rather is a fact) that I'm the first one who ordered this software and paid for it! Now they are facing the problem to get it to Jordan - since 4th of January.
I was thinking that maybe I am the only customer buying this software as original here in Jordan, and therefore I have to wait till a ship sails from France to Jordan and is lucky not to be pirated by some Somali pirates at the Horn of Africa.
But then - after 6 weeks - Winsoft confirmed that they shipped it by plane (see quote above). Oh yes, they also emphasized their regrets.
Hi Harbs, seems that you got a better connection to Winsoft than Grapheast does. So maybe next time I can order from you?
Or even better, develop a plugin similar to that of ArabicXT for QuarkXPress (which I also have). Maybe this would start some fruitful competition and brings hope to patiently waiting - if not frustrated - users (like me).
"Maybe there was too many orders in Jordan?"
Oh yes, everybody is using it here, but almost nobody is willing to pay for it - one can get a copy for 5 dollars in the next coffee shop.
Well, I'm a registered user of Adobe products for many years and use InDesign ME since version 1.52.
So I can only hope to get it sometime this year (hope dies last).

  • AVI length different in CS5 than CS4, GSpot, Media Player, etc

    Hi folks,
I'm not quite a complete neophyte but close so my apologies if I've missed something obvious.
I've just upgraded to CS5 (5.03) and am encountering a puzzling situation. I'm have a set of Cineform AVIs (codec version 6.9.3.530) converted from 2 different camera's (one creates .mts files and the other .tod) and while the final avi's from one camera (.mts source file) seem to be working fine, files from the other will only report just over 2 minutes in lentgh. Actual time is better than 16 minutes.
Not working within a sequence yet, just looking at the file in the Project window, Source monitor and properties.
AVI's in question play fine in Premiere CS4, VLC, Media Player, etc. Everything looks to be alright in GSpot (correct length reported, plays fine). Interestingly GSpot reports 24,346 frames and CS5 reports 12173 keyframes, 12173 delta frames ... same I think?
    To sum up ...
Cineform AVIs created from 2 different source file types (mts and tod) during the same conversion batch session (same setttings).
Both sets of AVIs work fine in CS4 and other apps
AVIs beginning life as MTSs working fine in CS5
AVIs starting as TOD are only about 2 minutes long in CS5 but lengths are fine elsewhere.
Any ideas or other information I could provide to help solve this?
    Thanks much,
    Lee

Nevermind ... not that simple apparently. I managed to get one of the avi's in the CS5 project created automatically when opening the original CS4 project to show the entire contents but can't replicate the behavior to another project using the same avi. Here are the media start, end, duration and video in, out duration values for the file. Viewing the avi in the source monitor I can see the full 16+ minutes. Odd disconnect between the 2 sets of values.
    Any idea would be great!
    Thanks,
    Lee

  • Premiere CS4 with Media Encoder CS5?

    Hi,
When I was given my CS4 suite (production premium) years back, it included Premire Pro.  Then, when I told my boss I needed to upgrade to CS5, he purchased the Web Premium Suite.  This was fine, for the most part, as Illustrator, Flash, and Photoshop are the main programs I use, but we just recently got a video project that is giving me some issues.
We created what turned out being a 4 min + video.  After some trial and error we settled on creating multiple segments in Flash and exporting them as uncompressed MOV files from Flash.  Then we brought all of those MOV files together in a premiere pro project.  The problem seems to occur when I export out an MP4 video from Premire Pro CS4.  Premiere launches Media Encoder CS4 and then creates the MP4.  The MP4 plays on a cellular device like we want it to, but it will not display a thumbnail/preview of the video when viewing the video in the phones gallery.
We have tried some other tests, and if we export out an MOV or AVI from Flash CS5 then convert that to an MP4 using Media Encoder CS5, there suddenly seems to be a thumbnail on the phone for the video.  After multiple tests, it appears the problem might be related to which version of Media Encoder our final MP4 is produced in.  ME CS4 - No thumbnail. ME CS5 - thumbnail.
The problem is, we HAVE to use Premiere as our final compiling tool, but I cant seem to get a Premiere Pro CS4 file to work with Media Encoder CS5.
    Any thoughts???
    Thanks,
    Justin

but to automatically open up AME CS5 ... hmmm.. maybe a hack?
No, that will not work. Even if you have Audition 4.0 installed (beta), edit in Audition from CS5 will only access Audition 3.0.
The only way to try it is to open AME CS5, go to File/Add Premiere Pro Sequence and select the CS4 project and then the correct sequence.

  • Premiere cs4 adobe media encoder takes 7minutes to load

i use predmiere pro cs4 on a year old dual-core 2,2ghz 4gig ram laptop with 64bit win7  and it works fine with the exception of
when i want to export something (even a 3second clip or a bitmap). on premiere i go export>media  (i Always export to
uncompressed format) and afterwards the adobe media encoder loads up, so far so good.when i hit "start Queue"  i have to wait
around 7-8minutes for the program to actually start working.until then it just says 'loading project'  and when i click on the
window after a while it says that the program is not responding.
which is a false not responding.i just need to wait those 7-8minutes. is this how the program works for everyone?! where is the good old ctrl-m that worked super fast?

Well, that's a bit of a disappointment. I have to imagine most Adobe users are bald due to Adobe providing settings/output options that it's own software doesn't like. I really don't understand the sense of that.
In any event, I attempted to use:
    Format: H.264 Blu-ray
Preset: HDTV 1080i 29.97 High Quality
And Encore still wants to transcode the video. It also wanted to transcode the audio that the format put out (PCM audio). I tried messing with some of the settings in Field Order, Profile, and Level and no love all around. I also tried one of the 1440 formats and no love there.
Does anyone truly have this working natively or am I just chasing my own tale? It really should not be this hard to get Premiere to output something that Encore will use without difficulty.

  • Exporting from Premiere Pro CS4 using Media Encoder gets stop error

I am trying to export my timeline from Premiere Pro CS4, using the Adobe Media Encoder CS4 to export my timeline as an MPEG2 HDTV 1080 24, and it goes for about fifteen minutes then I get the blue screen and my computer restarts, telling me the program had a stop error.  Is there a way to go around this step?  Another method to get the mpeg2 without losing quality?  Anything I can do?
Please offer any knowledge you have before I scream at my computer again.
    Thank you

as I know Adobe products are buggy no matter what hardware you have.
I am sorry, but my experience has been the absolute opposite of what you have heard, or experienced. I have used many, many Adobe programs for almost 2 decades (maybe even more than 2 decades?), and have never observed such. I do have to admit that over those many years, I have always had a "state of the art" computer, but have made plenty of $ using Adobe software. Even with my now aging workstation, things work great. Time to upgrade though.
When troubleshooting issues, they shake out like this:
    1.) system
    2.) Assets
    3.) Project
    4.) OE
    5.) Bugs
This is after troubleshooting Adobe issues from almost the time that PS hit the PC, when they were only NNTP, in what, 1985?
Now, I am not saying that your issue IS hardware, but only that that is the most likely issue, given a BSOD. Also, system is the #1 cause of issues, so that is where I start.
    Good luck,
    Hunt

  • CS4 / PremPro / Media Encoder - output settings needed

I have imported a 1920x1080 Quicktime ( *.mov ) file; made some edits; now want to export with same specs ( 1920x1080 mov file ), but I can't find the proper settings in the Media Encoder for this.  Any help would be greatly appreciated?
    Sonny

    steve,
What? Never before? If you think that CS4 was a great pay for Retail Beta privilege, you should have been around for the true 'public beta' and the nine Retail Beta version and dot releases of Adobe LightRoom. Retail Beta Joy like never before! :)
Compared to that CS4 is super stable and bug free--pretty sad for a paid Retail Beta, actually. But, hang in there, there's hope. CS5 is coming, and that could potentially be an ADOBE Paid Retail Beta Triumph :) :)

  • DVD vob to Premiere CS4 via Media Encoder

I'm a nube going through the pain of figuring out how to use vob DVD files in Premiere CS4. I've done my research and the problem has many solutions, most which are way more pain than I want.
In another thread a user said that Adobe Media Encoder works well to convert vob files to Premiere friendly files. If so, what output format should be used? I don't see a DV AVI-2 option in ME that many threads say is the best.
    Thanks

Thanks Jim. I renamed the vob to mpg, then used the NTSC DV preset under the Microsoft AVI Format, and all good except the audio was stripped out. Also, when I try in import the avi to Premiere I get an error message "File video dimensions (width/heigth) too large) even though both the project and avi are both sized 720x480. Sigh.
    I'll keep trying.

  • Rendered output from PremierePro CS4 (via Media encoder) is pixelated and posterized

Using Premier Pro -- Recently upgraded to CS4. When exporting sequence to a quicktime movie using the Adobe Media Encoder - all settings are same as (equivalent to) what I used to do in CS3, but the result is pixelated, or posterized. See samples of what I am getting, over here: http://www.tamotion.com/sample/Picture11.png and http://www.tamotion.com/sample/Picture12.png
I am getting the same result on 3 different intel iMacs, all running Leopard 10.5.5, 4GIG RAM (in one case, 3GIG), so the problem is not specific to any one machine. I assume there is a basic setting I may have overlooked.
Anyone have an idea what the problem is?
    Thanks
    Tam

You need to set Bitrate in AME (it's turned off in default, don't know why it's off).
I had this problem too, but with switching on Bitrate and set the correct number - this correct problem with low quality mov's for me.

  • Freezes when exporting .mov files in CS4 / Adobe Media Encoder

For the past 7 hours now I have been trying every internet remedy for the following problem, and was wondering if any of you nice people could help:
I just came back from a ski trip, and wanted to make an edit featuring my fiends. I recorded large parts of the trip on my new iPhone, both in 720p 120fps (120.15fps, h.264 1280*720) and the normal 1080p 30fps. iPhone files are in the .mov format. I also recorded some parts on a GoPro hero hd2 camera at both 720p 60fps and 1080p 30fps. GoPro files are in the MP4 format, and i've never had a probvlem with them.
Now all imports fine into premiere pro, and although I had a few problems with freezing while editing initially, this was quickly solved by terminating all unused (non-adobe) processes in task manager.
So I spent a good 4 hours making a 2.5 minute edit of our day, and wanted to export it.
So I selected the sequence, and went file>export>media, selected all of the preferences i wanted for exporting, and sent it to the Adobe media encoder.
The media encoder loads the files for a few seconds, and then starts the encoding process. And promptly freezes. It freezes at around 10-20 seconds (depending on export preferences) after starting to encode, and never restarts. i can then pause the encode, but cancelling it crashes adobe media encoder and subsequently also crashes Premiere Pro.
I may be mistaken here, but I have a strong suspicion that It is quicktime that is causing all this.
    So I tried the following:
    - reinstalling, downgrading, updating, etc. Quicktime
    - renaming file extensions from .mov to .mp4
    - all sorts of export preferences, from image sequences to dvd to blueray and dv. (Image sequences, interestingly, occasionally export to about half a minute into the video(also depending on preferences), then freeze)
    - crossing my fingers
    - checking for gaps in video, found none
    - updating premiere pro and media encoder
    - throwing my mouse at the wall in frustration
    - making a new project with different settings and copying in the sequence
    - disabling "Include source xmp metadata"
    - making a new user account and trying it there
Is there anything else I can try?
Could I copy the project itself into a different program (e.g. iMovie or Windows Movie Maker) and export from there?
Is there an alternative to Adobe media encoder?
    Need more information?
    Thanks for the help!
    Specs:
    Premiere version: 4.2.1
    Encoder version: 4.2.0.006
    Comp specs:
    16Gb ram
    quad core i5
256 Gb solid state (system, program files are here)
2TB HDD (video files, scratch disk are here)
    Nvidia gtx 660 graphics
    Windows 64 bit
    1 monitor

I bought quicktime pro today to try this, but to no avail. it just freezes up again during export.
I tried some other fixes on that page, like renaming files to .mpg extension, which worked once during an export of a test sequence (although everything was shifted and it cut off the export at the gopro footage).
Is there any way I can export this project to another program to export it from there perhaps?
    Thanks for the help!

  • CS4 Exporting media Loosing Focus

    Hi
When exporting media to the media encoder I am finding that I am loosing focus of the rendered file in flash.
the original size of footage is 1920 X 1080 I have croped this to an area of the footage that I require 720 x 640 and changed the out put size to the same.
when this is rendered out the image is blury.
how can I change the settings to be in focus as the original footage is in focus.
    Thanks
    Rodney

    Hi Hunt
the flash settings that I am using are
    using flash 8 and higher
I am encoding using the alpha channel due to the footage is keyed out
    the frame rate is 1200
I have resized to 640 x 720 from 1920 x 1080 and also croped the footage as well to the same size
    Thanks

  • CS4 Adobe Media Encore crashes when exporting HD footage

    Hey guys,
    Here's my PC's specs:
    Windows Vista Home Premium
    Service Pack 1
    Processor: AMD Phenom 9550 Quad-Core Processor 2.20GHz
    Memory (Ram): 4.00GB
    System Type: 32-bit operating system
I've got adobe premiere pro CS4 and everything has been going well when working on Mini DV imported footage - exporting AVI's etc, it's all good. But now I've started shooting on a Sony EX3 so I've been importing that footage as MP4s. While not amazing, the editing has been going well, it just goes horribly wrong when I try to export any footage.
For example, I've got a 3 minute video which I've tried to export as an mp4, AVI, mov or H.264 - Adobe Encore will open up quickly enough and then I'll press "Start" and nothing will happen, it will sit and eventually crash.
    Any thoughts or suggestions?
    Thanks.

  • Exported HD video from Premiere Pro CS4 via Media encoder Freezes mid way through video

    Hi,
I couldnt find this raised by anyone else so thought id start a new thread. Ive tried a couple of times to export an edited project only to find the video is all good up until roughly  half way through the video at which point the video freeezes, the time keeps moving along as if its playing but no video. It looks like the encode failed at this point. I have no problems if I split up the video and export it in smaller pieces but obviously this isnt good enough
Any ideas as to the cause?
    Additional info:
    Im patched upto CS4.1
    Source footage is AVCHD
Project goes for just over an hour
    Cheers

That suggests some failure somewhere in the encoding process. It could be something in your timeline around 43 minutes, maybe a blank space (even for a single frame), a disk hiccup causing some part to go missing, other hardware problems. It could be a myriad of things going wrong. What background processes are running, what is your hardware setup, what are the temperatures during encoding, etc. Check the second part of this link: If you need help quickly...Guideline for posting an effective question

  • Waiting For Server CS4 Virgin Media 1and1

    Hi
Over the last few month I have been getting "Waiting For Server" error messages from Dreamweaver while working on my websites hosted on a  dedicated server with 1and1. My ISP is Virgin Media, whith whom Ihave a 50MB connection using a Virgin Media super hub.
This problemn didn't exist just over a month ago.
I have asked boith 1and1 and Virgin Media for help. Both deny there is a problem with the connection at either end and have suggested it is a Dreamweaver problem.
I have completely uninstalled Dreamweaver on both my Laptop and Desktop PC's.
I have tried the passive FTP and server compatibility settings within Dreamweaver, with no difference.
I have also tried using a couple of external DNS services, with no difference.
While I'm working, I can mayb eedit and save 5 files, then on mayb eth e6th I'll get the waiting for server message, which will then connect and save the file after about 30 seconds.
Just wondered if anyone had any suggestions that I haven't tried yet?
    Many thanks
    Mr M

Yes, I am editing the files directly on the server. Until recently, I've been working this way for years.
Dangerous.  You must be exceptionally confident.
    Are you working in CF?
At any rate, I'm not experienced with using this configuration, nor do I know anyone that works this way.  Maybe someone else will pop in to help....

  • Horrible video output quality with Premiere Pro CS4 + Adobe Media Encoder

I am trying to make some changes to a DV format file, and output as the same DV format. When the video is brought into Premiere, it looks crisp in the left-hand video box. But, when playing it on the right window and when encoding it, it comes out as a mess with substantial compression artifacts.
What confuses me is, I have experimented with a lot of codecs--even uncompressed AVI. There is no change in the video resolution--source is 720x480, as is output. I am keeping all the pixel aspect ratios the same as the source footage.
What is creating this distortion? I have no scaling of the video whatsoever in the sequence...
Is there some compression box I'm not seeing here?
I've attached a screenshot of a still from the video. As you can see, substantial artifacting around the lettering, making the text unreadable.

Some suggestions and answer at least the 16 questions at the end of the Wiki article.

  • CS4 - Adobe Media Encoder - Encore - H.264 Blu-ray

As many folks are aware, Encore's transcoding can sometimes be less than optimal. I played with the AME settings and with the help of other folks on these and other forums finally determined all the right settings so that Encore would treat my DVD quality videos as native and not attempt to transcode them.
I am now trying my hand at Blu-Ray and am running into similar problems but so far I have not really found any answers that have worked. Based on my research, the following settings should work:
    AME
    Format: H.264 Blu-ray
    _Video_
    TV Standard: NTSC
    Frame Dimensions: 1920x1080
    Frame Rame: 23.976
    Field Order: None (Progressive)
    Pixel Aspect Ratio: Widescreen 16:9
    Profile: High
    Level: 4.1
    _Bitrate Settings
    Bitrate Encoding: VBR, 1 Pass
    Target Bitrate: 18
    Max Bitrate: 22
    _Audio_
I have Multiplexing disabled because I am using DD 5.1 encoding and for DVD quality, I learned that Multiplexing is a no-no to prevent Encore from trying to transcode things. I assume the same thing applies to Blu-Ray so I'm not really worried about the Audio.
    Encore
    _Project Settings_
    Authoring Mode: Blu-ray
    _Settings
    Television Standard: NTSC
    Codec: H.265
    Dimensions: 1920x1080
    Frame Rate: 23.976
    Fields: No Fields (Progressive Scan)
    _Automatic Transcoding
    Maximum Audio/Video Bitrate: 25.0 Mbps
    _Audio Transcoding
    Audio Transcoding Scheme: Dolby Digital
I have tried a number of other settings around these (including using 29.97 frame rate to match my source), but after 4 days of trying different things with AME, I am completely stumped. What I am primarily looking for is someone to be kind enough to post their settings, in the level of detail above, that allow them to import an asset into Encore so that it doesn't want to transcode the video.
I know there are other tools out there that can do these things, but I paid my $ for Adobe Mastersuite so that it would do all these things for me. If at all possible, I would really like to stick with just these tools.
I am not sure if it matters, but my source is a Panasonic HDC-TM700 set to record in 1080p30 (I don't use their proprietary 60 frame format). I have successfully downconverted this source with AME to DVD quality. I have also successfully outputted from AME to 1080p that was uploadable to Youtube. Again, I'm not sure that it matters other than I can make useable video from my source. Here are the properties of the video according to Premiere:
    Type: MPEG Movie
    File Size: 2.6 GB
    Image Size: 1920 x 1080
    Pixel Depth: 32
    Frame Rate: 29.97
Source Audio Format: 48000 Hz - compressed - 6 channels
Project Audio Format: 48000 Hz - 32 bit floating point - 6 channels
    Total Duration: 00;22;23;25
Average Data Rate: 2.0 MB / second
    Pixel Aspect Ratio: 1.0
My actual clip is about 6min, but my intention would be to use clips of up to an hour in length.
Oh, I'm not sure if it is clear from my above information, but I am not using Adobe Dynamic Link. I'm not sure if that is where my problem lies, but my one attempt to use it did not produce the results I was looking for either.
Thanks in advance for your time and for making it this far into my post
