WinXP 64 Bit edition iPod Driver.

When is apple going to release a 64 bit iPod driver for those of us running WinXP 64 Bit Edition?
Until they do, my iPod is a useless lump of coal. A very expensive lump of coal I might add.....

Does it work for anyone in such combination? I turn it on, close the "advanced" window in default windows mixer, open advanced again and it's off again.
Downgraded to Oct 2006 drivers and it works like a charm (apart from the famouse 4GB ram bug). Upgraded to the latest drivers again, same as before.
Is there something i miss or is that another bug we wont see a fix for next 2 years.

There's a bunch of issues with the latest official drivers. Not many if any [url="http://connect.creativelabs.com/windows/Lists/Audigy%20Issues/AllItems.aspx">issues[/url] have been fixed since beta. I tried a lot of modified drivers and most of then didn't fix much. Lastest I tried PAX 6.0 messed up my whole system. I will stick to SBAX_WBUP2_LB_2_09_006.exe until some decent drivers will come out. Lets hope it won't be in 200 ::smileyvery-happy:. I sugest you to do the same.

  • Nvidia GeoForce Go 7600 graphics driver and IQ770 with Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit edition

I have been having problems with my screen for several months now:  every so often, for no apparent reason, it loses some of the pixels.  I can still read the items on the screen, but the resolution is trashed.  It happens intermittently and then goes back to normal.  I have tried uninstalling the graphics driver and letting the computer go find it on a reboot.  This does not work.  I have also tried installing the original graphics driver.  This does not work either.
If I look in the "Problem Reports" area in Control Panel, there is a graphics related error:
Error Message: STOP 0x000000EA THREAD_STUCK_IN_DEVICE_DRIVER (Q293078)  The resolution listed is to reinstall the device driver (which I've tried dozens of times without success) or to change the computer's performance settings, which also does nothing.  I still get the occasional loss of screen clarity which returns to normal all by itself.
Is anyone else seeing this problem?  Does anyone have a resolution?
I have tried the latest graphics driver available on the hp website, from 8-2008 as well as the originally installed version from January 2007.  The version of Windows is Vista Home Premium 32 bit edition, Service Pack 1.
If I completely uninstall the graphics driver, and do not reload any, the screen performance is fine, but then there are other problems, such as graphics acceleration.
    Thanks for your help.

    For the IQ700 series
If you're running Windows Vista SP2, there is a patch for USB patch for NVIDIA chipsets

And only use the driver from the system manufacturer's website or Windows Update. Do not use the latest drivers from NVIDIA's website for the IQ700 series

  • "iTunes 7.6 or later is supported with any 64-bit edition of Windows Vista.

"iTunes 7.6 or later is supported with any 64-bit edition of Windows Vista. The installer for 64-bit Vista is named iTunes64Setup.exe instead of iTunesSetup.exe. For more information see http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=301301"
So now you iPod Shuffles will work! No more returning them to Apple!

I can now setup iTunes on my 64 bit Windows Vista. I've also brought over my library via the home network from my old Windows XP computer (although I needed to use Add folder to Library as the songs were not automatically recognised in the library). However, I can't get the i-Pod to load. At first I got a message saying that I needed to download a driver and now there is no recognition of the iPod at all when I connect. Is there anything I can do?

  • Windows xp 64-bit edition

I tried to install windows XP 64-bit edition beta. I downloaded this directly from microsoft (the flyer that came with the motherboard lead me no where to a link to download it). Unfortunately, the drivers that came with the raid controller are not 64bit compatiblee. I wanted to know how I would go about getting this installed properly (because XP 64-bit detects a mirrored array as two separate drives and will not boot).
What are the differences between 64-bit and 32-bit windows? will other programs not run correctly on it? Games? all that stuff? Comments? Any threads on this already?

What are the differences between 64-bit and 32-bit windows?  32bits
will other programs not run correctly on it? Yes and No ,32bits apps is emulated
and will run slower than on a win32bits , apps written and optimized for win64bits will run 20-30% faster.
Games? 32bits games (as all are today)will run with emulation helped by win64's WOW64 , and will run slower than on win32bits.
Comments? It's beta , and you can play with it to get the feel for it , but
unless you have 64bits driver for all your hw , your win64 installation
will be a bit stumped , afaik printers/scanners etc is hard to get any beta 64bits driver for . I tried writing to canon but they just blew me off , directing
me to their donload site where there is only 32bit drivers.
any threads on this already? yes, use the search button .

  • How to develop 64-bit Windows device driver for NI-6602?

Due to the fact that NI-VISA doesn’t support 64 bit Windows, how can I do to develop a 64 bit Windows device driver for NI 6602 (Counter/timer) PCI card. The possible jobs include:
    Develop a Windows Kernel Mode Driver (“Device Driver”);
Make it to comply with VISA in order to utilize “osiBus Generic IO Interface” and MH DDK.
Could anyone please give me some advices as soon as possible?

  • IPod driver 3.1 install on Mac OS X 10.2.8 crashes

Hi, I have an iMac G3 that I have upgraded the OS to Mac OS X 10.2.8 and I am having problems with installing the iPod driver 3.1. In software update it downloads jsut fine, but when it trys to intall it software update crashes. I have tryed to find a download of the driver but to no avail. I have noticed that this is a common problem. I was just wondering if anyone found anything on this. I am a very technical person so I can handle more technical instructions. THanks!

    Is this the one?
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL404
At first I thought this was a Windows-only download. but there are two different links there. The big button on the right side points to a .dmg file, so it's Mac.
EDIT: Oops! I just noticed that driver requires Mac OS 10.3.9 or higher. Maybe that's the problem. However, I'm surprised that Software Update would offer it were it not supported by your OS.
SU--at least in later versions of the Mac OS--has the option to download only rather than install. Might download it, quit SU, and then try installing.

  • How do I get my Ipod driver back in my device manager?

    Ok, it goes like this:
Brand new Ipod, replacing one that was permanantly locked up, is not recognized by my cpu. Have uninstalled and reinstalled Itunes, have checked for viruses and spyware, have done every thing tech support and this site suggested to a letter.
A tech savvy friend of mine theorized that I may simply need the Ipod driver downloaded onto my cpu, and then the cpu would recognize the Ipod.
Does this make sense, and if so, can someone point me in the right direction?
    Please and thank you...

This might be the problem I'm having.
My 5G 30GB iPod's working fine but isn't recognised by my computer. It won't even charge on my computer. I've tried it on another computer and it works fine.
I've uninstalled, re-installed, done everything i can find on the support pages and it still won't work. The USB ports on my computer are fine as my mobile phone connects and charges and synch's with my pc just fine in the same port.
    I've switched ports as well.
Uninstalled any newer programs that may have caused the problem since i last connected. Nothing!
What is going on Apple - sounds like a lot people are having the same sort of troubles.
Edit - it's now charging, but still not recognised...

  • WinXP 64 Bit, Anyone tried yet????

    Hi Guys,
Firstly, I fixed my problem I talked about in my last post.
Turned out the VGA Card was bad, I say bad, what I mean is, when you look at the card from the side (?) The contacts were worn out and wouldnt make contact with the VGA slot thus preventing the MB from powering up :o|
Beleive me, I was PISSED !!!!
Anyway, has anyone tried installing WinXP 65 bit extended version yet?
Would be nice to get some feedback as I have a copy and would like to find out if it is worth the hassle??
Not sure if there are enough drivers around.
I know that a few things have been left out of the system by the people at Mikey Soft.
What with the 32bit subsystem, have heard that 32 bit applications run slower than if i installed on regular XP ??
    oh well.

    MSI FX5900XT VGA Card

The first time you re-installed Win 32 on the raid that was a bit drastic. A repair ought to have done the job.
The problem was probably that you disconnected the array but that's where the boot.ini was and that file needed to be modified to add the path to the Win64 install.
Since you took out the array the Win64 install created a new boot.ini on the PATA drive. Even when you tell BIOS to boot off the array, Windows has a bad habit of looking at the IDE channels & using the boot.ini if it finds one there - but the file it found didn't point to the array of course.
So basically if you already have Win32 on the array I would leave that array connected normally when installing Win64 on the PATA drive and all should be well.
I've installed Win64 on the same array as my Win32 install and they co-exist happily. I reckon that's the most efficient way to do it. The main thing is to make separate partitions for Win32, Win64 and data files when you install Win32 in the first place. The two OSs can share the same data files, incuding stuff like email.

  • Problem with the new 64-bit edition of iTunes -- Windows Vista Ultimate

Very recently, I upgraded from Windows Vista Ultimate 32-bit to the 64-bit edition. I also downloaded the 64-bit edition of the Windows-based iTunes.
My individual iTunes music files were stored on a separate internal hard drive that was never a part of the upgrade overhaul (C: drive was upgraded to the 64-bit edition; my iTunes files are located on the D: drive).
After opening iTunes, I immediately went to Edit > Preferences > Advanced (tab) and changed the "iTunes Music folder location." I located my iTunes folder on the D: drive and clicked "Select Folder."
Unfortunately, nothing happened. Meaning, iTunes does not recognize any of the files located within this iTunes folder. This is the exact same iTunes folder that I used under the 32-bit edition of the OS.
I have nearly 50 GB of music files, none of which are now part of my music file library.
    What's going on?

    Chris CA wrote:
If the songs are not tagged correctly (title, album, artist at a minimum), they will go into Unknown.
If they are tagged correctly, go to iTunes prefs -> Advanced and uncheck *Keep iTunes music folder organized* then close the prefs.
Re-open prefs and recheck *Keep iTunes music folder organized*.
All my music was imported from CDs using iTunes.
After unchecking "Keep iTunes music folder organized" it doesn't make any difference. Virtually everything is in "Unknown."
I can't believe this..... it's like iTunes doesn't recognize its previous handywork.
    Very frustrating!
If anyone know a way to quickly clear this up, let me know.

  • ITunes and Windows XP 64 bit edition

I have iTunes v 6.0.4.2 running on my machine. I tried to install the latest version and am told it won't install on the 64 bit edition of XP. Why and what do I need to do to make it work?
Gentech   Windows XP Pro   OS is the 64 bit Windows XP

Sorry for lashing out, I know typed messages can easily be mis-interpreted. It seemed to me as though the response was intended to be like, "Hey stupid ...". And I get rather frustrated when people do that.
I have the PowerMac Dual Processor G5 1000mhz FSB. I know that the iPod and iTunes are linked as software and hardware, but I was not aware that I could install the iTunes application from the website to my iPod. Do we know if it is planned for iTunes to work with the XP 64-bit platform? If not, is there anyway I can assist with the project to make it happen... I am part of the Apple Developer Connection.

  • Win XP 64 bit edition

I just recently upgraded to this system:
    MSI K8T Neo FIS2R
    AMD Athlon 64 3200+
    2-512 KingMax PC3200 Ram
    MSI FX5700-VTD128 Video Card
The rest of the system is from my old system and includes
    Creative Soundblaster live 5.1
    1 hitachi 60-gig 7200 rpm 2 mb buffer hd
    1 Seagate 80-gig 7200 rpm 8 mb buffer hd
    1 sony 16-X DVD drive
1 Sony DVD multi format Writer.
I have been a MSI user for several years now and really like the feature rich products that MSI produces. Their support (what little I have needed) has been awesome. I feel that with AMD processors and MSI system bd you get the greatest bang for your buck.
With that said now let me get to my rant which started with my trying to install my latest purchase from MSI. I have been looking at putting together a power workstation for video editting for over a year now. I was real excited about AMDs 64 bit solution. MicroSoft even had a beta that can be used for free. So with alot of extra work(speed costs money) I finally purchased the componets to build a power workstation. I downloaded the beta from MS purchased the hardware and put it together and started loading XP 64 bit edition, which loaded just fine and came right up. This is when my problem started. first the only 64-bit driver that I could find was the realtec gigabyte ethernet driver. The rest weren't compatable. I kinda of knew this going in but figured MSI is selling a 64 bit system bd there must have some beta drivers that users can download. What a pipe dream. I tried searching their site and can't find anything for 64-bit drivers. Whats up with this? MSI needs to take the lead and get the drivers out there.
BTW I did some benchmarking and with XP 64-bit this machine really hums, running XP home 32-bit the machine is very respectable but not what I was looking for.
