Winxp sp3 with bootcamp mic's sound like alien!!! in MBP

when i use the microphone for chat its sound like alien slow down
can anyone know how to fix it plzzzzzzzzzzzz
it make me unbelivable in MAC so much worst!!

Hey, I had a thought, I don't know if it'll work and won't get the chance to find out until later tonight if I'm not too tired or until later tomorrow.
I think that if the IDT drivers aren't installed in the first place, perhaps the issue can be averted entirely. However, it's going to take a bit of knowledge to do and some patience. The partition will need to be remade entirely so that one may end up with a fresh operating system. When the SL disk is put into the computer, instead of running the full driver setup, pick the drivers directly off the disk by exploring its folders and only install the ones you need. Instead of using the IDT drivers, I believe the SL disk also has Realtek HD audio drivers (if I remember correctly from the last time I looked). My thought is that this manual method can prevent having to deal with the IDT drivers which I believe are part of the issue.
I understand that reinstalling XP is a process in itself, but this is the only solution I can think of. If manually installing doesnt work, my next move would be to use the drivers that come off the Leopard disk instead of the SL disk.
Like I said, this is just a thought I have so when I get to it later I'll let you know how it goes unless you decide to give it a try before me.

  • A tiny little cry for help: mic in bootcamp makes me sound like a mouse!

I posted this on the InsanelyMac forum, and I thought I'd post it here too because I'm just that desperate for help... thanks in advance for reading.
I run a MacBook Pro Core 2 Duo. When Snow Leopard came out I installed it and partitioned my drive to allow me to run Windows via bootcamp for the purpose of playing Aion with my husband.
The game works fine, although it only works correctly when I'm hooked to my large Dell monitor. The built-in display makes the mouse/cursor not function correctly in-game.
But that's relatively minor... the biggest problem is that the built-in mic, as well as any mic I plug into the Line In, makes me sound like a mouse when I speak. I SO don't want to be known as the squeaky mouse over ventrilo. (The problem occurs in a regular sound recorder too, so it is NOT ventrilo specific).
The audio device is listed as Intel High Definition Audio: Device ID 0x83847680, Audio ID 30 - whatever that means.
When I dive into the Control Panel audio preferences when booted into Windows, the driver is listed as IDT audio.
Audio output seems to function perfectly.
I would sure appreciate help if anyone has expertise or experience with this sort of thing. I'm at a little bit of a loss.
    TIA,
    Jen

  • Install the Window XP SP3 with BootCamp...?

    Hi all,
Can i update to WIN XP SP3 under BootCamp now? is it need to update the BootCamp 2.1 before install SP3 and the BootCamp 2.1 still have a driver for Nvidia 8800GT on the MacPro (since 2007)
    Thanks a lot!

Hi The Hatter, I often find that these types of bugs are connected with incorrect installation by users and can often be avoided if they are methodical when going about a process like installation of service packs for Windows. I know that loads of users experienced problems with installing SP1 and particularly SP2 for XP and in most cases it was due to user error. I state most cases because Microsoft did issue the pack on CD and some of them were faulty. Downloading from the net was also sometimes a problem as if the download went haywire you had to start again. Thankfully that scenario has been eliminated and if it kicks out now you restat the download from where yo left off. It's never made easy is it!
    Kind regards. Denis

  • Mic is too sensitive, calls constantly cut out. People tell me y loud, and it sounds like I'm in a tunnel. Any background noise, and call is completely cutting out. This occurs all the time, but more so using earphones with in cord mic.

I have iphone5 ios6 and the Mic is too sensitive, and calls constantly cut in and  out. People tell me there is loud background noise and it sounds like I'm in a wind tunnel. Any background noise, and call completely cuts in and out and sounds as if call is dropping. This occurs all the time, but more noticeable while using earphones with in cord mic. I never had this problem with my old iphone4. Has anyone experienced this, and is there a setting that can correct this problem?

Same problem for me.  So bad in fact that I can't really use my headphones for calls.  I have tried it with several sets of headphones.  My primary are the Bang and Olufsen headphones which were great with the previous iphone 4 and 3.
    Apple please address this issue.

  • Issue with recorded sound- sounds like the recordings were made underwater.

    Hi, all.
I'm running Adobe Audition CS5.5 on a Toshiba Satellite Pro C660-1UZ with Windows 7 Home Premium installed. My machine meets all of the system requirements, as far as I can tell, and yet recordings made in Adobe Audition sound like they were made underwater.
    For reference:
    http://www.soundclick.com/player/single_player.cfm?q=hi&songID=11138745
I'm not using an interface at present, but would be willing if there were a cheap model available.
    Thanks for any help,
    Casey

I have a slightly older Toshiba Satellite notebook that I use for recording and mixing and I can tell you that the built in audio interface (i.e. the mni jack mic input) is worse than bad.  I can get away with it for Skype phone calls but that's about it--and even for Skype I often plug in my interface.
The other thing going on with the sample you posted is that the levels are very low so the need to crank things up to hear anything just accentuates the noise.
Basically, Audition just takes the signal provided by your mic and interface and doesn't affect the sound in any way until you deliberately add processing.  You really do need to invest in an interface--pretty well any two track USB devices will be a vast improvement on the Toshiba mic input.

  • Help. Recording with Audition sounds like I'm in a toilet, yet perfect with Audacity.

I'm trying out Adobe Audition after using the free software Audacity for a year; I've exactly the same set up re. mic, accoustic-friendly booth etc, and I've just recorded text in Audacity and again in Audition to compare.  Audacity one perfect, but the Audition version sounds like I'm in a toilet or other hard-surfaced room.  I've used older versions of Adobe Audition in a recording studio without this problem.  I'm struggling to understand why would it be so different from a freebie software with exactly the same set up when recorded only minutes apart.  Is it a sample rate thing?  I don't even know where to start trying to sort this out. Any suggestions gratefully received.

Usually this is caused by a monitoring condition where signals get fed back (with a slight processing delay) to your on-board mixer and then mixed with the incoming signal - it gives rise to digital howl-round, and gets recorded like this. It won't happen with Audacity because it doesn't provide monitoring in the same way as Audition. So the first thing you need to do is to make sure that you are only recording from a single source, and not something like 'what you hear' - all these settings are within your mixer, not Audition.
If none of this applies, then we'd need to hear a sample to get any further.

I had a repair done on my MacBook Pro and had to have a new hard drive installed. The Apple Auth Repair Shop then updated the OS from 10.6.8 to 10.7.5. Now my iPhoto v 9.2.3 will not open and it sounds like it will not work with this OS. Can you please advise?

You may need many other updates to retain compatibility with Lion. I suggest you reinstall Snow Leopard. Unfortunately, you will need to erase the drive first. Be sure to backup your data if you haven't done so already.
    Clean Install of Snow Leopard
Be sure to make a backup first because the following procedure will erase
the drive and everything on it.
         1. Boot the computer using the Snow Leopard Installer Disc or the Disc 1 that came
with your computer.  Insert the disc into the optical drive and restart the computer.
After the chime press and hold down the  "C" key.  Release the key when you see
a small spinning gear appear below the dark gray Apple logo.
         2. After the installer loads select your language and click on the Continue
button. When the menu bar appears select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu.
After DU loads select the hard drive entry from the left side list (mfgr.'s ID and drive
size.)  Click on the Partition tab in the DU main window.  Set the number of
partitions to one (1) from the Partitions drop down menu, click on Options button
and select GUID, click on OK, then set the format type to MacOS Extended
(Journaled, if supported), then click on the Apply button.
         3. When the formatting has completed quit DU and return to the installer.  Proceed
with the OS X installation and follow the directions included with the installer.
         4. When the installation has completed your computer will Restart into the Setup
Assistant. After you finish Setup Assistant will complete the installation after which
you will be running a fresh install of OS X.  You can now begin the update process
by opening Software Update and installing all recommended updates to bring your
             installation current.
Download and install Mac OS X 10.6.8 Update Combo v1.1.

  • My iphone 4 started making a sound like "boing" with a vibration/ wobbly sound.  It does it at least once a day.  I've reset my phone, used icloud to restore, and it made the sound again upon startup.  Help!  This is so annoying.

My iphone 4 started making a sound like a "boing" with a vibration/ wobbly sound.  It does this at least once a day.  It started about a month ago.  Anyone got any ideas?

Mine does this also, seemingly randomly several times throughout the day.  I do not have this sound as any of my alerts and it does not seem to denote anything like a message, reminder, etc.  I do have "Trapster" on my phone and I went in and tweaked the settings there.  Will repost if that has any efect.

  • I have a MacBook Pro 2006 and installed Windows 7 on it with BootCamp no problem, but the thing is on Windows, there is no sound.

Hello there everybody! I have installed Windows 7 on my MacBook Pro 2006 15' without any problems, and without any modification. I did hear that some users couldn't install it, but I have got it working fine with BootCamp 4.0.1 on Lion. So anyways, when I boot into Windows, there is no soudn, and there is also a Red Light coming from the Earphone/Headphone jack.
What should I do? This problem is really ticking me off because I only insalled Windows to lay some games my friend recommended to me. With no sound, it would be really strange playing them, especially Mass Effect.

Well I / we always kind of assume that someone did all the normal basics first and is still having trouble. And read the instructions in Boot Camp Assistant.

My phone was sitting on the table, with nothing turned on, and all of a sudden it sounds like there is air coming out of my speakers.  It does this for 1 minute straight, then will stop. When I pick it up, then set it back down, it does it again.
    HELP!!!

No nothing will show up on the screen.. If I push the 'home' center button it continues doing it, same with the sleep/wake button.
I thinking it may be static out of my speakers --but I don't understand why all of a sudden it is dong this. I have had no problems with this phone, until now.

    Do you have current backups?
Those symptoms could indicate a failing Hard drive. If it dies, all your documents go with it unless you have Backups.
I have had very good luck with physical and battery problem diagnosis at the Genius Bar. Those guys put their hands (and their ears) to these machines, all day every day, and they know immediately what all those sounds mean.

  • When using Skype my IPad sounds like ocean. This is not a problem when I am on FaceTime or using other apps with sound.  Recently updated to newest IOS 7. First there was no sound for Kype and found that had to turn microphone sound on.

When using Skype my IPad 2 now sounds like the ocean and I can barely here my contact.  This happened recently after IOS7 update. I did turn the microphone on for Skype as it was required after update.  Now my sound is terrible but only a problem when using Skype video call.  It is okay for FaceTime.

Thank you!  Resetting resolved the issue with terrible sound when trying to use skype.  Sounds much better!
I am not sure what all changed when reset was applied to settings --- assume it defaults back to basic settings.  I have no idea what I had customized, so will slowly figure out.  I have noticed several things.  So far I had to add back my wallpaper and reenter password to get back on my wi-fi.
At least SKYPE is now audible.
