WIP customization
Hi!
When i am customizing for valuation methods for WIP ( transaction code: OKGC) and press new entries button, system is asking for actual costs or target costs, when i have selected actual costs, system is asking for controlling area,RA version and RA key. After entering this, system is giving error message " specify new values". I don't understand what it mean? I have to define valuation methods for different order status.

Pls note that, We use different RA keys for varied purposes, like RA KEY 00003 for Sales order cost WIP/RA calculation
RA00002 for WIP At Target cost which we will use REM (Product cost collector)
So it is recommended to define each RA key is own customising, like WIP at Actual cost or target cost, so that it will serve the required purpose, instead of using same RA key for different trasactions.

Generally when the Order is having Status CNF (Confirmed) & TECO (Technically Completed), they are not considered for the WIP Calculation.

More over the Orders which are having status CNF and TECO they are still been considered for the WIP Calculation. Is this a kind of Bug or we need to look into the customization. Please Advice.

Are you refering the yield in COR6N?
It is nothing but the production qty to be confirmed.
REg your otherquestion of TECO orders being considered for WIP calculation :
as such there is no such setting in PP .
You have to discuss with your FI/CO collegue for clarification.

Mismatch of WIP report total and GL Trial balance
Per requirement, I am expected to see that the "WIP" reported in GL trial balance and the
Total WIP we get from the Report S_ALR_87013127 (Path-Easy access-CO- Prod.cost Controllingcost obj controllingprod cost by periodinfo systemObject list)" matches per plant.
I run the CO43, KKAO, KKS1, CO88 jobs every weekend. I take the spool request from the CO88(Prod settlement) then I also remove scrap variances for a production orders which error and then run the Variance and Prod settlement(CO88) jobs again.
I still don't see a match yet. What could be the reason?
What can I do to correct the WIP from Period 1, 2008?
I have period 1 open in OB52.However executed MMPV o February 1(priod 2)?

We were told this was fixed with 10G so we upgraded to 10G. We have a
report and we want it to execute if it's less than 10 records if not we want a
message to come up that the report needs to be scheduled.
Well we run the report and it displays exceeded record count but the format
still runs so no time saved on the web.
If the record count was exceeded we want to HALT the system and not go any
farther.
Now if we could modify the system message 1825 we would be o.k. But we don't
know if that is going to work. If we could change the message we would be
o.k. with that. that would mean changing the system codes though.
### How is the Report being called (Command line, URL or via Oracle Forms): ###
If false comes back in the beginning then we don't want any report formatting
to be done. Right now the format is done it seems but no data is displayed
because criteria isn't met.
So we dont wnat the formatting to be run when criteria isn't met. But for
some
reason it still runs and takes time.
See we have some reports on the web that can only be ran by date range right
now the clients can only run the reports for a 6 months range.. Well some
clients have a lot smaller record count. So we want to change the way the
reports are ran to a records count. If the count is large than said amount
then a message comes up that states the report has to be scheduled. If the
amount is under said amount then the report runs.
So at this time in the report we do a count then we move onto will the report
run or not if over the amount we want to abort the process but we don't want
the client to see the abort. We definately don't want the client to sit and
wait for the format to run when NO Data is to be returned.
### Error messages and error scenario: ###
So what we want is too see a message "Schedule the report count exceeded" and
NO formatting done. If under amount we want the report to run.

Or is there a way to customize the messages the client / users will see. And
no formatting time for no records returned.

As talked to you on phone, here are the steps for you to try.
The below has been run as a test case using emp table in scott schema of a database
1) create a summary coloumn say cs_1 in the data model.
2) point the function to count.
3) Point the source to what ever's count you want it to be pointed to(say empno of emp table of
scott schema)
4) create a user parameter say NO_ROWS
5) in its property palette make its data type number and initial value as 1
6) I had teh following query for my report:
select empno, ename from emp
where rownum <= :no_rows
This means that the report that will be generated will consist of a total no of NO_ROWS(that we
shall be specifying at run time). The before report trigger(mentioned in 7 below) shall assure
that whenever we specify NO_ROWS greater than 5 then the report will display a customized pop up
message.
7) create a before report trigger as:

This way when u run a report, an argument is asked whether how many rows do you want to be
displayed as in the parameter NO_ROWS. then you specify the number. If that number is greater
than 5(in this case, due to if :cs_1 > 5 then....) then it will pop up a message saying "Data is
more please schedule this report:"
In case you do not want to specify NO_ROWS..then you need not put that and modify the report
query as "select empno, empname from emp;" i.e. without where clause.

I tried this step by step, but unfortunately, it doesn't work the way we want.
First with this suggestion, the user needs to choose how many records they
want
to get, or we default a number of records, in order to run the report. The most
important thing is, whenever you specify the statement return false or raise
SRW.PROGRAM_ABORT in the before report trigger, the system message will pop up.
I really hope that people from Oracle would let us know how to customize the
system message or hide it.

New info : I just thought that we have some sort of message, which I guess is
from the database, when we do claim search on client inquiry. I am just
wondering if we could try the same thing to the report.
The some sort of message looks like this on dev box:
Your search exceeded 5000 records and will surpass the capabilities of this
connection. Please narrow the search criteria and resubmit.
It's just a thought, not sure if it's going to work.

We cannot modify the system messages nor do I think there is a method to hide the system message. The message that was coming is
due to the raise srw.program_abort command, which is the element through which
we can abort the program.

I am sorry to say that but I don't think there is any any workaround to this because the system message is what is generated by the oracle reports i
nternally. Still if you wish you may refer to the otn discussion forum which is
maintained by teh product management group and post a new thread on it. the link

Also since nothing can be done on our side I don't see any reason to keep this TAR open an
d if you wish we can soft close this.

WIP posting to different account by order type
Hi,
any idea how can I post WIP amount to another G/L account different from customization (OKG8) ?
We have several order types and I want to post WIP to deferent GL accounts depending on order types (or something like this). In transaction OKG8 I can only define one GL account for controlling area and company code. So all WIP are settled to this account in FI accounting.
I can not find any possibilities how to change it.

You should make these posting to a cost center then..The only way you can control account postings via PO type is having a account assignement category. You can make this as mandatory filed for this PO type..

How to link Sales Order and WIP job for non-ATO items
Hello All,
My client's requirement is to link an Sales Order with a WIP Job as soon as it is booked.
It is for FG and for a non-ATO item.
The process should be to have SO booked and then it should raise a WIP job based on it if there ar no inventory stocks.
Thanks in advance.You will have to write an extensive customization that will work similar to planning engine.
It will have to look at order quantity and then look at onhand, reserved onhand, min-max quantities, safety stocks, move orders etc etc and then create a job if necessary.
Are you sure you want to do it this way?

If you have inhouse produced material half done ( not yet fully processed).
The Rules:
1. You will only get the WIP only for Milestone/Reporting Point Operations.
2. The Production order status should be REL and not DLV or TECO.
3. Without Auto GR, i.e Manual GR also after partial/final Confirmation you will gt the WIP.
You can use the Transaction: KKAS/KKAX (Individual Processing).
WIP is for Material in REM and For Order in Discrte Manufacturing.
If your Production Order ststus is not DLV or TECO, then System will consider your Order for WIP Calculation.
In COOIS, input the Status as REL and Not DLV and Execute.
If you have confirmed/Backflushed some quantity, the remaining quantity is in some intermediate stage then system will consider this for WIP Calculation

I am not able to see Production Order number on WIP line itmes from FB03 or FAGLB03.
Is there a particular customization to get Order number into line item display?
I tried Define Special Fields for Line Item Display..but I don't have AUFNR field in that config. setting.

Truecrypt, PGP, wipe apps etc?
I just switched from an android device after many years on a PC. There I was able to take security and privacy into my own hands, not relying on the Google corporation but independently (well, using third-party apps). I also don't want to rely on Apple for my security but have independent apps for that. I cannot find Pretty Good Privacy by Zimmerman, nor Truecrypt. Maybe Android didn't ' have those - though they certainly would operate on my PC. But I cannot find even any of the multiple customizable selective delete cache etc apps that I used on my Android device. Am I looking in the wrong place or is Apple not compatible with apps that pit the user in charge of his own privacy?
Are you talking about a Reset where you hold down the sleep and home buttons, wait for the Apple logo, then let go of the buttons, no it will not wipe out your apps.

Based on this post: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/1395118?start=0&tstart=0, I'm assuming there's a problem with setup assistant running after a customization install reboot. But I could be wrong.
Here are the details:
MacBook Pro
Clean OS X Snow Leopard install (I was "told" by IT I had to wipe the disk and re-install OS X after backing up personal files).
Installed extras I need/want (in particular, XCode, though I went ahead with the other optional software as well).
Installed the IT supplied "Supplemental CompanyName Installation Disc" (also referred to as "CompanyName Supplemental Installation Disc" ), which is supposed to create a customized, IT supported, setup.
When the supplemental install is done, the system is rebooted.
There is then a "Welcome" screen (starscape, with almost endless bombardment of the word welcome in various languages), finally followed by:
a) select language; b) select keyboard; c) select timezone; d) Don't forget to register your Mac, with a "done" button.
Clicking the "done" button goes to a blank grey screen. and then loops back to redo the "Welcome/language/keyboard/done" sequence, ad nauseum (that is, infinitely repeated).
Per the above mentioned post, I have rebooted to the Install DVD and run disk utility, repairing permissions. No difference on reboot.
Boot to safe mode goes to the same setup assistant sequence, not a login screen.
Another Mac user here suggested checking for /var/db/.applesetupdone, since missing it, or if it's correupt, could cause this problem.
So I booted to single user and checked for this file. It is not there. On the off chance the file is a simple flag and the content doesn't matter,
I did fsck/remount and touch /var/db/.applesetupdone but this did not change anything either.
Presumably, the file must be present and must contain some data. If this is true, can it be created manually and put in place via single user mode?
Or are there other, better solutions someone could suggest?

One of the responders supplied the content of their .applesetupdone file.
I was able to get this onto my Mac, in /var/db, as .applesetupdone (just to be safe, I linked that name to .AppleSetupDone, the name as mentioned on the above site). Note that both names begin with a dot (hidden, in UNIX parlance).
On reboot I was presented with the CompanyName specific login screen. It took a little bit more mucking around with passwords, but I was eventually able to login without any problem.

More WIPEdit plugin customization questions
Hi,
I see from another thread called "WIPEdit plugin customization" that you can NOT remove/hide the tool bars that show up in the MLT (i.e. copy, paste, bold, etc..).
I'm just wondering what other options are available as customization? I see that the wes_book.pdf talks about:
1. Edits in the wipedit.ini file to change user or server side custom dictionaries
2. A variety of WIP Edit ActiveX controls/API's to add buttons or how to display the forms.
Anything else that I'm missing that can be customized?

Project closure - labor cost from WIP to COGS a/c upon closure

We are implementing v12.2.3, In Oracle PA, for a specific project type, our business users want labor cost first charged to a WIP Cost a/c, and upon closure of the project, the cost should be moved to a designated COGS a/c. Is there a way to achieve this? Do we need to do any extension/customization? Can this be done in SLA custom rules? Thanks a lot for sharing your ideas/suggestions.This is CLR exception. You cannot just LoadLibrary the managed library. The error code is the generic well-known code and means, again, CLR exception.
There is no easy fix (options are hosting CLR (I would not recommend), etc.

How to customize install with the restore DVD's
HI, Is there a way to customize the install of the restore DVD's for Vista.
For example, I wouild like to have 2 partitions. Also, I do not want all the extras installed, mcafee, etc.

Go to Solution.Is the restore partition intact on your Thinkpad?
If you run the restore from the restore partition it gives you the chance to do a "Custom Restore" where you can choose to not install some of the programs.
When you run the cd's it wipes all partitions and installs the resore partition. Then it restores windows from the restore partition without the option to do a custom restore. You would have to restore asecond time from the hard drive to get the custom restore.
