[WIP] Migration to Director 11

Hello..
I am migrating my previous MX (in progress, suddenly 11 came
out) to 11. Can anyone please run my Shockwave and inform me if
theres any issue. There are only 2 scenes.
http://www.gettingf.com/Director11/LingoTerrain06.htm
1. Solar system
2. Terrain rendering + clouds (right click to start fire)
Nothing much. Just to test the speed and compatibility.
Textures and models are 95% procedural (codes).
Thank you.

I tried opening your site on my Mac with Leopard and it
crashed Firefox
as soon as the progress meter got to 100%.
But it worked great on another computer with XP and firefox.

  • How to move or migrate whole directories between ASM disk groups?

    Hello everyone!
    I'm playing around with Oracle ASM and Oracle Database (11g R1), I'm a student. This is just for testing purposes.
    Computer specifications are:
    Processor: Intel Pentium 4 HT 3.00 Ghz.
    RAM Memory: 2 GB.
    Hard Disk: 250 GB
    O.S.: Windows XP Professional Edition SP 2.
    I installed Oracle ASM, I created an ASM disk group (+FRA), I installed Oracle Database and I created a testing database. The database is working properly over the ASM disk group. Days ago, I got help about the initialization parameters DB_CREATE_FILE_DEST, DB_CREATE_ONLINE_LOG_DEST_1, DB_CREATE_ONLINE_LOG_DEST_2 and DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST, based on their function, I created another 3 ASM disk groups (+FILES, LOG1, LOG2). Currently, the four initialization parameters are pointing to its corresponding ASM disk group. As you can deduce, at the installation moment of the Oracle Database I used the ASM disk group "+FRA" and inside it were created the directories: CONTROLFILE, DATAFILE, ONLINELOG, PARAMETERFILE, TEMPFILE and the SPFile.
    My point is I wanna move or migrate the directories DATAFILE, PARAMETERFILE, TEMPFILE and the SPFile to "+FILES", ONLINELOG and CONTROLFILE to "+LOG1" and "+LOG2", this way, the ASM disk group "+FRA" will contain the Flash Recovery Area only. What is the procedure to do this?
    Thanks in advance!

    Hi,
    There are couple of approaches you can use, here is some of them
    - To move datafile, start the database in mount state
    RMAN > copy datafile '+FRA/xxx' to '+FILES1';
    SQL > alter database rename file '+FRA/xxx' to '+FILES1/xxx';
    - To move tempfile
    SQL > alter tablespace TEMP add tempfile '+FILES1' SIZE 10M;
    SQL > alter database tempfile '+FRA/xxx' drop;
    - To move onlinelog
    SQL > alter database add logfile member '+LOG1' to group 1;
    SQL > alter database add logfile member '+LOG2' to group 1;
    SQL > alter database drop logfile member '+FRA/xxx';
    - To move controlfile
    SQL > restore controlfile to '+FILES1' from '+FRA/xxx';
    update the spfile to reflect new location of controlfile

  • Migrating home directories to an Xraid

    I have just installed an Xraid to an existing Xserver. I have User Directories on the Xserve and some other folders from a Windows 2003 file server. I have updated my LDAP directory and can't seem to get Workgroup Manager to recognize the home directories I've moved over. The directory on the Xraid is shared and choose-able in the Home section of Workgroup manager. I did go into terminal and do a chown on one of the users, but it still wouldn't see the directory.
    Any help would be great!!
    Chuck

    I'd like some more advice on this as well, as I am about to migrate from user accounts from the G5 Server to an X-RAID. Here are the steps I have in mind. Anything else?
    1. You'll need to unshare the current Home folders directory on the server using the WorkGroup Manager.
    2. Then create the share-point on the RAID. Make it Network mountable.
    3. Change User path to the location in WorkGroup Manager. Shift-select all the users who are going to change path- select the new share under Home and Save it. Check under Home tab to verify.
    4. Migrate accounts using ditto copy.

  • Migrating Local Director to CSM - commands "name" "oos"

  • Migrate home directories from NW6.5/NSS to OES2/NSS

    Hi
    Is there a way to migrate the user home directory from NW65 to OES2/Linux in the same tree and copy trusties and change the users home directory setting in the user object?
    I've looked at the migration tool in OES2 but I can only copy data, and not trusties and change home directory...
    /Jonas

    I use a utility called HOMES...by HBware...slick!
    I have also used a utility called (I think) Mass volume changer...that was slick too. HOMES is the more powerful, though. Both are freeware.

  • SETI screensaver migration issue.

    I recently migrated home directories from my old G5 iMac and am now receiving the following nuisance message on the new system:
    S&hScreenSaver
    The SETI@home Screensaver could not find the SETI@home_OSX application.
    Please make sure it is in the Application Folder.
    I removed SETI@home & BOINC from my old system long ago. Any ideas where the SETI screensaver references are coming from. BOINC shows up under System Preferences, Desktop & Screen Saver, Other. I'd like to remove it if possible. Thanks in advance for any tips on this.

    Look in the Login Items tab of Accounts preferences. Also check /Library/StartupItems/ folder. If you find any relevant entries then delete them and restart the computer.

  • FScommand and projectors

    Hi all,
    I've recently migrated from Director 10.1 (!!) to Flash. Been using AS3 for quite some time now in readiness for this terrible event so I'm not too bad with the syntax.
    One feature that seems to be missing from Flash is the ability to quickly and easily access external documents using their default applications. Both Director (natively) and the Xtra BuddyAPI provided this functionality for me.
    FScommand seems to nearly bridge the gap but there's the issue of the ugly cmd.exe popup when I run my batch file. And did I mention how annoying it is to have a .bat file for every document I need to open??
    I was doing this in Air (and the solution provided there is very Director-like) before I remembered there is no way to run an Air application as a standalone .exe file. There is simply no way that my client will be able to sanction admin rights for the hundreds of installs (across the country) that Air would require in order to function.
    Anyone have a solution for this? Surely there must be someone who has run into this before..
    For info the projector will be delivered via CD-ROM and I'm using Win7 64bit CS5 to author the project.
    Cheers,
    Dan

    I can't use Director because the version we have won't work with AS3 and certain configurations of windows Vista/7/ Mac OSX machines.. ie most of them.
    That's why I'm using Flash.
    Third party options would be good but the budget for this job is tight. I'm aware that Northcode has a fix (the .exe hack) for the fscommand method, but I can't view the page.
    Has someone saved a permalink to the site, by any chance?

  • Type folder path  with intellisense

    Allow me to type a folder path with autocomplete just like windows explorer.
    So, I should be able to go to, say, C:\foo\bar\john\jane directly without having to browse to that folder.
    PS: I am aware of the favorites option.

    Hi,
    There  is a way to transfer the data from one folder to another by customizing the xml using USMT, here I give you an example:
    <migration urlid="http://www.microsoft.com/migration/1.0/migxmlext/test">
    <component type="Documents" context="User">
      <displayName> Drafts Documents to Personal Folder</displayName>
      <role role="Data">
        <rules>
          <!-- Migrate all directories and files present in D:\folder -->
          <include>
            <objectSet>
              <pattern type="File">D:\folder \* [*]</pattern>
            </objectSet>
          </include>
          <!-- This migrates all files and directories from D:\folder to every user’s personal folder.-->
          <locationModify script="MigXmlHelper.RelativeMove('C:\new folder','D:\folder \*')">
            <objectSet>
               <pattern type="File">D:\folder \* [*]</pattern>
            </objectSet>
          </locationModify>
        </rules>
      </role>
    </component>

    This is more than likely to do with Storage Manager trying to migrate folder(s) which have non-standard characters in the foldername. We have gone through a similar exercise of migrating from eDirectory to AD and hit this problem on several occasions. We are a university with international students so can probably guess the extent of the problem! Interestingly, right clicking the home directory on the Novell side and choosing 'Novell/NetWare Copy' the folders migrated with no problem. I did raise this issue with Condrey who sent several updated versions of the NSM Client and Agents but none were able to resolve the problem. In the end I just had to copy the failed homedirs by hand.
    In addition, some very deep folder structures will not copy from eDirectory to AD because of the maximum path length of 256 characters on the AD, although this can be confirmed as the cause because 'Novell/NetWare Copy' will also fail!

  • App catalog download failed, not enough storage to download after updated to 3.0.4

    hi,
    I am getting the above  message after updating the touchpad 32G to 3.0.4. There are over 10GB space left on the device. Has anyone else got the same error message when downloading an app from the catalog?
    Post relates to: HP TouchPad (WiFi)

    So the storage space that the device only shows what is available for you to actually install or store data to. It doesn't include directories that are pre set aside with file caps that you won't know how much data is in there.
    The likely cause of the issue is that either your downloadhistory.db is large and/or your /var/file-cache filesystem or /var is full.
    So to rectify, you have to options.
    1. Preware - you can get a patch to view the file structure and check to see if the offending directories or files are full. You can also dabble in using linux commands to navigate through there as well. (all at your own risk).
    2. Full erase the device which will inevitably wipe those offending directories clean and give you a clean slate to run off of for a while.

    Connecting to a TV is no different than connecting to any other external display. It's possible that there's a problem with the mini dvi port on the macbook r that you have bad adapters. You might try resetting the SMC Intel-based Macs: Resetting the System Management Controller (SMC) - Apple Support
    Does the Macbook recognize that there's an external display connected when you look at the Display preference pane?

    Of course not. Migration Assistant will create a new user with the transferred files and settings, so your MacBook Pro won't get messed > http://pondini.org/OSX/MigrateLion.html

  • Migrating Local Users to Network/Mobile Home Directories

    Hey Everyone!
    A Happy Holiday's to you all! I'm in the midst of building a new system for my new clients. They had nothing but static IP numbers and no actual servers in a 50+ Mac environment. MacBook Pros, G5's and PowerBook G4s up the yang.
    What I'm looking to do is migrate as seamlessly as possible, all of the existing local users to network users and then some of those network users will become mobile accounts. I have Open Directory authenticating properly so...
    Here's my plan:
    1) Finish creating new builds for the MacBook Pro's, the G5s, and the PowerBook G4s.
    2) Create the users in OD and assign them to groups for permissions.
    3) Drag and drop entire home directory from each computer to a shared folder on my OD Server.
    From here I want to run chown, I'm guessing, to change the user:group for the home folders I copied over so that they match the ID's created by OD. I figure when I do that, then I can simply replace the OD created home folders in my server's Users folder with the copied and permission modified home directories from each local user.
    My guess is that would be the fastest way to migrate the users to the network.
    My question is are the terminal commands I need to run on each folder in order to make this as seamless as possible?
    chown -R username:newgroupname /~path to copied local home directory
    Is that syntax right?

    The command is correct!!!
    But my quess is if you use ACL's to set the permissions you won't need to run the command on every folder
    Best Regards

  • OCS Migration to Lync 2013 Delegate which Director that authenticates

    Hello - I am in the middle of a migration from OCS 07 to Lync 2013. Everything is working pretty well. I have a new Lync Server with some users migrated over to it already and communication is fine between the Lync Desktop Clients and the OCS Desktop Clients.
    We now want to use the Mobile Lync Client so I have installed Lync 2013 Client on my iPhone 5S. I was able to install the root cert on the phone however, when I try to sign in, I am getting the following error:
    "We can't sign you in because your organization doesn't support this version of Lync. Please install Lync 2010 from your mobile store."
    I am running Lync 2013 Standard Edition and I am running Lync 2013 Client for iOS. I can only assume that because the OCS director is still running it is handling authentication and its not compatible with Lync 2013. Is this a correct assumption?
    That being said, and if that's indeed the issue, is there a way to delegate the Lync 2013 Director to take over authentication?
    Thank you!
    Russ, MCSE

    Hi there,
    Lync 2013 Mobile clients relies on UCWA services to connect to  Lync server 2013 services, also Lync mobile autodiscovery depends on Lync web services publishing. Therefore you should make sure that lyncdiscover.sipdomain and lyncdiscoverinternal.sipdomain
    points to Lync server 2013 web services and not OCS 2007.
    specifically Lyncdiscover.sipdomain should point to the public IP address on which the Lync External WebServices are published.
    so it is quite sure that if the above requirements are not met and especially the DNS configuration for Lyncdiscover and lyncdiscoverinternal mobile clients will not be able to connect.

  • Migrate data and Reset/wipe clean mac book pro

    Hi,
    Maybe this is a repost, but I would like to ask this anyway.
    I am using a mac book pro (mountain Lion) and Time Machine for backup everything in it.
    If I want to buy a new Mac book pro; my questions are:
    1. How to move all my data to the new MBP? Can I use time machine? And How?
    2. After I move all data, How to wipe clean and reset to manufacure standard the old MBP? So if I sell it to someone, He/she will not find any trace of my data?
    Thanks so much in advance.

    Follow these instructions step by step to prepare a Mac for sale:
    Step One - Back up your data:
           A. If you have any Virtual PCs shut them down. They cannot be in their "fast saved" state. They must be shut down from inside Windows.
           B. Clone to an external drive using using Carbon Copy Cloner.
              1. Open Carbon Copy Cloner.
              2. Select the Source volume from the Select a source drop down menu on the left side.
              3. Select the Destination volume from the Select a destination drop down menu on the right
                  side.
              4. Click on the Clone button. If you are prompted about creating a clone of the Recovery HD be
                  sure to opt for that.
                   Destination means a freshly erased external backup drive. Source means the internal
                   startup drive.
    Step Two - Prepare the machine for the new buyer:
              1. De-authorize the computer in iTunes! De-authorize both iTunes and Audible accounts.
              2, Remove any Open Firmware passwords or Firmware passwords.
              3. Turn the brightness full up and volume nearly so.
              4. Turn off File Vault, if enabled.
              5. Disable iCloud, if enabled: See What to do with iCloud before selling your computer.
    Step Three - Install a fresh OS:
         A. Snow Leopard and earlier versions of OS X
              1. Insert the original OS X install CD/DVD that came with your computer.
              2. Restart the computer while holding down the C key to boot from the CD/DVD.
              3. Select Disk Utility from the Utilities menu; repartition and reformat the internal hard drive.
                  Optionally, click on the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass.
              4. Install OS X.
              5. Upon completion DO NOT restart the computer.
              6. Shutdown the computer.
         B. Lion and Mountain Lion (if pre-installed on the computer at purchase*)
             Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible because
                       it is three times faster than wireless.
              1. Restart the computer while holding down the COMMAND and R keys until the Mac OS X
                  Utilities window appears.
              2. Select Disk Utility from the Mac OS X Utilities window and click on the Continue button.
              3. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the left side list. Click
                  on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
              4. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) Optionally, click on the Security button
                  and set the Zero Data option to one-pass.
              5. Click on the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
              6. Quit DU and return to the Mac OS X Utilities window.
              7. Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion and click on the Install button.
              8. Upon completion shutdown the computer.
    *If your computer came with Lion or Mountain Lion pre-installed then you are entitled to transfer your license once. If you purchased Lion or Mountain Lion from the App Store then you cannot transfer your license to another party. In the case of the latter you should install the original version of OS X that came with your computer. You need to repartition the hard drive as well as reformat it; this will assure that the Recovery HD partition is removed. See Step Three above. You may verify these requirements by reviewing your OS X Software License.
    Yes, you could use Time Machine, the Setup Assistant after you first startup the new computer, Migration Assistant if you've already gone through the Setup Assistant.
