Wipe all data without wiping Win 7

Could you please tell me the steps to wipe all programs and data from my Toshiba Satellite Laptop without deleting Win 7 operating system? Sure would appreciate the help. Thanks. Jay

If you want to give away the laptop, it's best to restore the hard disk to its original out-of-the-box contents using Toshiba recovery media.

Contact Apple (call AppleCare) and for a nominal fee the discs will be replaced.  You can do that or purchase Snow Leopard (still availble from Apple for $20) and do an erase and install of OS X making the machine like a new machine.

  • HT201065 Is it possible to completely remove ALL data when wiping??

Is ALL data completely wiped and irretrievable from my old mac once this process is done? I have heard of others illegally retrieving data from old discarded hard drives previous owners had 'wiped' clear.

When you erase a drive, you can do it fast/non-secure or slow/secure. Choose the "secure" method and specify 1, 3 or 7-pass option. For large disk drives this can take a VERY VERY LONG TIME. But if you want to be safe, what's a day or two.
The multiple-pass secure options writes different bit-patterns to the drive, before it finally erases it with all zeros, which leaves nothing for anyone to recover later on.
If you choose the unsecure method (the default) it only initializes the information that says how many files are on the drive and where to start writing when new files are created. The actual part of the disk that had your old data is not even touched, so with the right kind of software that information is able to be recovered to varying degrees of success.
The 3-pass secure erase method is what the DOD (Department of Defense) recommends for erasure of drives.
See this for a lot more information about securely erasing disks:

  • Way to erase all data without restore?

I just got off the phone with apple and they tolf me to take the phone to verizon for exchange due to wifi issues. I don't really want to go through the whole restore process plus Verizon may not like it restored in order to check it out. If I use erase all content under the reset function, will that securely remove all data?

I recently sold my iPhone 4s and followed the erase all content route but didn't stick long enough to see it through, and I found some iPhone data recovery app can restore deleted data from iPhone without backup files, so, I think we have to permanently erase everything from iPhone device before selling it, some “Deleted operation” really doesn’t erase all the data and it still out there, you cannot it.

  • All data is wiped from my iphone after internet was serverely hacked, hence transfered to my iphone and everyone elses iphones in the house

Our internet was hacked really bad, whatever virus/ trojan it was, my two housemates & I didnt realise straight away, by then we had synced our iphones to itunes on our computers, it wasnt long before we noticed our iphones acting strange, they would freeze up, bombing out, our computers were worse, it got through the anti-viruses, activated our web cams & mics. Then one of my housemates got a settings message window pop up on his iphone screen saying "I will put it all back if you give me what I want", we freaked, we had no idea what it meant. The other iphones were telling us to sync to itunes.. We sync to itunes again, then about half an hr apart of each other- each of our phones turned themselves off, we turn them on again.... and discovered all data, apps, messages, photo's, everything completely wiped clean- gone. Most of the programs on our computers had been changed, all data on itunes was gone, we just couldnt believe what had happened.
I never did a back up- I trusted the iphones, I didnt think that i needed to. I had tried again to sync to Itunes after I uninstalled Itunes & reinstalled it again on my main computer but nothing. I thought that I better not try syncing it to my laptop then.
I have uninstalled most programs in my laptop & tried to clear out any dodgey data i could find. I have left what iphone files that I could find in there, but I cant tell which iphone/ apple data is what nor can I read any of it.
I have seen on other sites there are programs or tools to try and retrieve data, but I dont trust the internet, I'm not risking being hacked again by downloading from sites I dont know.
Can someone please PLEASE  advise me some kind of instructions as to how to retrieve my iphone data out of my laptop??
**I'm wondering if this Apple site will publish this, because I have never found anything on the net where people have had a hack as bad as ours, so it makes me wonder if there are people out there who do talk about bad hacks- if they're story ever gets published or is our hack "1 in a million!".

Syncing your phone will restore the iTunes content to your phone. I suspect the content has not actually been deleted from your phone, just not visible due to a glitch(it's happened before). Re-syncing will fix things.

  • Formatting external drive to wipe all data?

What is the best way to format an external USB/FW drive to securely wipe all the data off of it? I know data can always be recovered, however, I am only interested in attempting to ensure that the average person will not be able to get the data.
    Thanks.

Follow the directions in KB 107437, Mac OS X: How to zero all data on a disk.

  • Return all data without selecting any value in query filter

    Hi,
I created a document with query filters(prompt, LOV). But sometimes users don't want to select any value and just want to return all data in the report.
I can't find a way to achieve this. Does anyone know how to implement this ?
    Thanks.

    Hi,
you can modify the "select" statement for your LOV and add an additionaly keyword like "ALL" in your list of values. Then you can modify your where-clause to handle the "ALL" keyword.
    E.g. (<your condition>=@prompt(....) or 'ALL'=@prompt(......) )

  • I got an iphone 3. I backed it up. When I plugged in the other iphone 3g none of my data transferred. I plugged in the old one and all data is wiped from there too. Where the **** is my data??? my 3gs

I backed up my iphone 3gs and had the intention of transferring the data to another iphone 3gs. Nothing imported and the old phone is wiped clean. Where is my data?

You can not access the backup directly.
Did you restore your replacement from this backup?
If so then you already have everything in the backup on your device.
If not, you can wipe the device and restore from this backup:
Settings > General > Reset > Erase All Content & Settings
What is it you are worried about losing that isn't already on your current device?

  • How do I securely wipe all data on an iMac before it iOS given away?

As part of an estate, I need to securely wipe an iMac before it is given to the heirs.

Install or Reinstall Mavericks, Lion/Mountain Lion from Scratch
Be sure you backup your files to an external drive or second internal drive because the following procedure will remove everything from the hard drive.
    Boot to the Recovery HD:
Restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the COMMAND and R keys until the menu screen appears. Alternatively, restart the computer and after the chime press and hold down the OPTION key until the boot manager screen appears. Select the Recovery HD and click on the downward pointing arrow button.
    Erase the hard drive:
      1. Select Disk Utility from the main menu and click on the Continue button.
      2. After DU loads select your startup volume (usually Macintosh HD) from the
left side list. Click on the Erase tab in the DU main window.
      3. Set the format type to Mac OS Extended (Journaled.) To securely erase the drive,
click on the Security button and set the Zero Data option to one-pass. Click on
the Erase button and wait until the process has completed.
      4. Quit DU and return to the main menu.
Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks: Select Reinstall Lion/Mountain Lion, Mavericks and click on the Install button.
Note: You will need an active Internet connection. I suggest using Ethernet if possible
because it is three times faster than wireless.

  • Wipe hard drive data without access to screen

I want to permanently wipe out all data on my hard drive. The problem is that my video card has crashed/burned down, so I don't have access to the screen. Is there a way of wiping out all data without physically removing the hard drive?

Do you have access to another Mac?  If so mount your blind Mac to it in the Target Disk Mode, Transferring files between two computers using FireWire.  Now you'll see the drive on the other Mac's screen and can run Disk Utility to reformat/repartition the drive.

  • Move all data from one database to other using oracle expdp and impdp tool

I need to move all of the data from one database to another. For that I am using oracle expdp and impdp tool.
I have the full database export dump file. I moved that dump file to my other database.
Now when I try to use impdp tools it gives lots of error regarding path mismatch, user not exists, role not exists.
As my datafile path of source database does not match with the target database path , also the users are not there in target database. I dont want to create all the tablespaces that in my source database as there are 82 tablespaces. Is there any way by which I can move my all data without using remap option for tablespaces or users and grants.

The FULL parameter indicates that a complete database export is required. The following is an example of the full database export and import syntax.
The user must have the privielge of EXP_FULL_DATABASE
    expdp system/password@db10g full=Y directory=TEST_DIR dumpfile=DB10G.dmp logfile=expdpDB10G.log
    impdp system/password@db10g full=Y directory=TEST_DIR dumpfile=DB10G.dmp logfile=impdpDB10G.logGO through below linkfor more details...
