Wipe My iPad?

Left my iPad (wi-fi only version) in Heathrow Airport in London. What a dummy I am. Went to my Find my iPhone app to wipe it. It can't locate the iPad. I am afraid I may not haven enabled Find my iPhone on the iPad. Is there any other way to wipe it/deactivate it? I sent a Lock command and a Wipe command, and they are in the pending actions, but if the iPad can't be found, I'm assuming the actions won't work. If this fails, can I somehow not allow MobileME to be influenced by the iPad? I'm afraid the person who has it may delete all the contacts, which will then delete all the contacts on all my other devices. Any help would be great. A little panicked right now.

Change your MobileMe password.

  • Unable to wipe business ipad (re: owner was someone else)

    Hi all,
Scenario: We had an ipad at our business that was assigned to Person1.  Person1 has now left the business, returned the ipad and we have the initial security passcode.  However, when trying to Erase and Reset all settings, it is asking for Person1's appleID and password etc....without this, we cannot erase and wipe this ipad....
Is there a process for this?
    Thanks in advance

You will need Person1's Apple ID and password, or you'll need to get that person to remove the device from his/her iCloud account:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/PH2702
If you can't reach this person or he/she is unwilling to cooperate, then the device is unusable by you. If your business is the original purchaser of the iPad and you have appropriate proof of purchase/ownership, you may be able to contact Apple Support and get help, but I've not been able to confirm that. It's your only hope, though, as otherwise there is no way to bypass the Activation Lock.
For future devices, it's strongly recommended that you set up iCloud on the devices with an Apple ID your business controls so as to prevent this sort of situation.
    Regards.

  • After syncing everything from iPad 2 to iPad 3 can I completely wipe my iPad or would it affect anything?

    Hi!
So I still need a little help with apple software, I've synced most of my apps& valuable information from iPad 2 - iPad 3, however, I need to completely wipe my iPad 2 before selling it. Would this affect any synced items? I do have most things saved on iCloud but I'm not sure if it would disappear if the iPad it came from is wiped. :( (e.g, docs on pages, notes, pictures, calender stuff .. Etc)
Furthermore, how do I go about syncing camera videos?
    Thanks! :)
P.s. the synced calender events show up in green once synced to the new iPad, as obvious as this sounds, why is this?? & would these remain despite wiping my ipad2?

Would this affect any synced items?
    No.
Furthermore, how do I go about syncing camera videos?
There is no syncing of Camera videos. Photos/videos in the Camera Roll can and should be imported by your computer as with any other digitla camera. The iCloud PhotoStream is for photos only and is temporary - limited to 1,000 photos and 30 days.

  • Computer Crashed New Install of Itunes wants to wipe out iPad

I got an iPad for Christmas. I had iTunes already on a computer and they all played well together - I didn't store any music in my iTunes - just used it to shop and download apps for my iPad. The computer crashed and I lost iTunes. But I had a number of apps and some books on my iPad (which are all in tact and fine).
When I reinstalled iTunes it says something about this iPad doesn't belong to this iTunes installation and gives me a message that says it's going to wipe out everything on my iPad to join it to the new instance of iTunes. I just unplugged my iPad on the spot.
I've tried a number of things and can't figure out how to basically say "No, I want it the other way around. The iPad is mine and I paid for what's on it - make iTunes match my iPad." So I haven't been able to update the iPad software or anything now for months and decided after several attempts to ask for help.
The new computer is running Windows 7 in case it matters.
    Thanks!
    Jim

    1) authorize iTunes on the new machine for your iTunes store account(s)
    2) connect your device and right-click or control-click it in the iTunes Source list, then choose transfer purchases from the shortcut menu that appears.
    3) sync the device
iTunes will wipe the iPad but, since you transferred your purchases in the previous step, your content will be in your library and you can re-populate the iPad with it.

  • Is there an app or service that will allow me to monitor / find / lock / wipe multiple Ipads each with a different Apple ID?

We have started to provide IPads to some of our employees.  They will use their own Apple accounts for purchases, but we would like to be able to have Icloud type access in case of an emergency.  For example, we use Prey for our android phones.

I suggest checking out MobileIron.  It is a very nice MDM deployment.  The VSP and Sentry appliances are very easy to configure and manage.  Deployment of iOS, Android, Blackberry, Win and Sybian devices is very streamlined nd straight forward.  You can deploy in-house apps, control app settings and policies, deploy security and activesync policies and control all aspects you asked about, remote wipe, lock, block, locate, etc.

  • What do you use to wipe down iPad without damaging it?

    Cleaning iPad without damaging it?

Wipe with a clean microfiber cloth.
When there are stubborn oil/grease spots (or your cat has sneezed on the screen, again ) dampen a corner of your microfiber cloth with plain water and wipe.
Once in a while, iKlear is a terrific cleaner. Again, just dampen a corner of your microfiber cloth and don't spray it on the screen. iKlear is safe for iPads as well as iPhones, iPods and Cinema Displays.

  • HT4061 iPad stolen - how do I wipe personal text messages out? Synced with my apple account and cell number but not showing in iCloud.

My iPad was stolen - I just synced it with my cellphone number and updated to the new OS the day before it's stolen. Why is the iPad not showing up in my iCloud account so that I can locate it and wipe the data?
I know that the iPad is likely still full of my text messages because I tried deleting them on my phone thinking it would also delete them from the iPad. Instead, the iPad re-populated all if the text messages I deleted back in to my iPhone.
Help! I don't want these people having my personal text messages. How can I wipe an iPad/break the sync with my phone when I don't have the iPad anymore?

What To Do If Your iDevice or Computer Is Lost Or Stolen
    iPhone, iPod Touch, and iPad
If you activated Find My Phone before it was lost or stolen, you can track it only if Wi-Fi is enabled on the device. What you cannot do is track your device using a serial number or other identifying number. You cannot expect Apple or anyone else to find your device for you. You cannot recover your loss unless you insure your device for such loss. It is not covered by your warranty.
If your iPhone, iPod, iPod Touch, or iPad is lost or stolen what do you do? There are things you should have done in advance - before you lost it or it was stolen - and some things to do after the fact. Here are some suggestions:

  • I did a remote wipe after my ipad got robbed, I want it to be canceled because I want to LOCATE it. The wipe was an accident and the police can't help me. What do I do ?

Today I came back from a little out of town vacation for about 5 days. My iPad was robbed as was all my money a bunch of jewelry and much more. The police can't help me find the iPad, they said I have to go on iCloud.com and do everything from there. I went to the website and I accidently hit Remote Wipe, without warning the thing is now going to wipe my iPad 2 which I got about 2 months ago. If it gets wiped there's no way to trace it. What the f*ck do I do now? I am going to lose my new iPad because of an accidental click. I want to complain especially because of the fact that it doesn't warn you about anything that happens once you do the "Remote Wipe."

  • Wipe ipad after each use (like invited account)

How wipe ipad data after each use (like invited account on MacOs)?

Sorry, but assuming you mean that you want it to wipe automatically, that's not a feature of iOS (except the data wipe that can happen as a security feature after multiple incorrect passcode attempts). If you want to wipe an iPad, you have to do it manually.
