Wire that goes from 90W Power Adapter a1097 to apple cinema hd display

We lost the wire that goes from the 90W Power Adapter a1097 to the Apple Cinema HD Display. Where could I purchase another one and what is the name of this wire?

The wire that comes from the power supply is tethered, meaning non-detachable, so I don't see how it can be lost. Or maybe I am misunderstanding. Is it the AC cord that is missing, e.g. the one that goes into the wall? That should be a normal IEC 320 C13, which is commonly available. You don't need the Apple one.

  • When charging and using, ipad 2 is 100% battery, does ipad use the power from the power adapter or from the battery?

I have a quention, when i am charging and using my ipad 2 at the same time, if the battery of ipad is fully 100%, does ipad use the power to work from the power adapter only or from the battery only or both? Thanks!

YOu don't have to have your receipt. Apple should have a record of how long you've had the device. If you bought it in april 2012, then your 1 year warranty against manufacturer's defects is almost up. You should find your local apple store, make an appointment and take it in.

  • Does a usb cab to 60 Watt L-Tip Power Adapter charger for Apple MacBook Pro Laptop Charger exist

    does a usb cable
does a Usb cable to60 Watt L-Tip Power Adapter charger for Apple MacBook Pro Laptop Charger exist? i have an external battery pack i would like to use to charge my iphone and macbook pro.

Not that I am aware of.  An Internet search on your part will be required.  If you should find something to that effect, note it will not be endorsed by Apple and the magnetic connector will probably be in violation of Apple patents.
    Ciao.

  • Can anyone refer me to a good repair facility for an Apple Cinema HD Display 23 in? Like other displays of this model, it has an internal short that causes a flickering display.

For several years I have had a flickering or black display problem with my Apple Cinema HD Display 23 inch, model M9178LL/A. Like other displays of this model production it has an internal short that causes the flicker and burns out power adapters. I ahve taken it to the Apple store several times and they just kept selling me replacement power adapters instead of fixing the short. At my recent visit, they told me that they no longer support this model and that I have to find a third party repair facility.
Can anyone refer me to a reputable location who can do the correct repair. There are discussions on the Internet how to work around the short problem with electrical tape on the middle connector pins, or how to open the display to fix it myself, but I do not have the eyesight, skills or equipment to do this correctly.
    Thank you.

In continuing my research on this topic, I found this article:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS5198
Short version, the 23" Cinema HD is among one of several older "vintage" Apple displays that are no longer supported under Mavericks. No brightness control, and it's likely to not work reliably at all. I can't say why I was able to use it for as long as I did with no problems. I take all this to mean that the display itself works fine, but not with my new MBP Retina.
Though a tempting excuse to spend another grand on a 27" Apple Thunderbolt display, I opted for a $250 HDMI monitor from Fry's instead.

  • 23" Apple Cinema HD Display & Mac Pro (Power Button Issue)

I have a 23" Apple Cinema HD Display (pre-aluminum model) hooked up to a Mac Pro (early 2008 model) via the Apple ADC-DVI converter. This display has two buttons (brightness and power control) which I can enable/disable in the display preferences. They do not react at all when disabled (surprise, surprise) and they do, when enabled (they flash when being pressed). The brightness button brings up the display preferences panel (brightness settings) and makes it disappear, when being pressed again. Up to this point it's all the way I would expect it. But: the power butten flashes too when pressed, but nothing else happens. With my previous Power Mac G5 (Tiger) it used to start/wake the machine or - when awake - put it back to sleep respectively and that is what I basically want it to do with my Mac Pro. Are there any ideas on what I might be missing here? As the brightness button still works as expected, this looks like a software (Leopard) issue to me.
    Oliver

I think we may have traded posts in another thread about this, but just confirming: you still have the kernel-panic-on-wake issue even after upgrading to 10.5.2? That cleared it up for me.
If you do ... do you by chance have anything plugged into the MacBook Pro's left USB port when it crashes? You might want to try leaving that port free when the machine is sleeping. A colleague swears that the left port is slightly underpowered, leading to all kinds of USB oddities when used, including kernel panics.

  • Stop the sleep blinking light in lenovo g-470, whining sound from the power adapter , HEEEEEELP !!!

Hi, hope anyone can help me.
I own a lenovo b560 and a g470, the sleep light will blink when I go to sleeping mode, anyway the problem is not the light, the problem is the whining sound it produces the power adapter when the light start blinking, in both machines I hear that whining noise, but in the g470 is much louder, I don´t know if this is because I have a faulty adapter or something, the strange thing is that both adapters make the noise when I sleep the laptop, when I turn off or hibernate the whining sound disappear.
Also, I notice that the whining sound alternate in 2 types of sounds, one is high in pitch and the other lower, the high pitch is when the blinking light turn on when go to sleep and the lower pitch of the sound is when the light go off, and that is repeating until I resume the laptop, it´s very annoying, especially when I´m in a quiet room.
So my theory is that maybe somehow I can turn off the blinking light when the laptop goes to sleep and then maybe the whining sound will go away, but I don´t know, it´s only an a idea.
    Any help will be appreciated.
    Thanks !

  • Setup deskjet 3050A having trouble with the cord coming from the power adapter.

My deskjet 3050A power adapter has a black and white cord coming from it and ends with a a small black rubber and metal end. I can't figure out where this goes. My printer will not turn on anymore. It was working before I went in the hospital at the beginning of the month and I can't remember where this cord went to.

    Hi,
Looks like your printer has broken during your absence, should be nothing hanging out with that description. I can't physically see it therefore I can't say anything because this can be live and death. You need an electrical or throw the printer away and get a new one.
    Regards.

  • Can I use 90w power adapter interchangeably with my 65w computer?

    I have two Thinkpads:
    1) T400 that has a 90w 20v power adapater
    2) T430S that has a 65w 20v power adapter
Can I use the chargers interchangeably on the computers?  Are there any concerns, side effects?  My assumption is that using the 65w on the T400 will take longer to charge the battery.  More importantly, I would like to know if there will be any damage if I use the 90w charger on the T430S.
    Thanks.
    Solved!

You can interchange them without harming either ThinkPad. Note that there will be limitations with a 65W adapter:
    1. It will take longer to recharge the battery.
    2. It may not be powerful enough to power/recharge certain configurations, e.g. with i7 processors and/or discrete graphics processors.
    3. It may not be powerful enough to power/recharge certain types of usage, e.g. when watching a DVD while at the same time running HDD intensive applications.
    4. Certain features, e.g. RapidCharge on the T430s, won't work.

  • Verizon Westel 327W abroad - Buzzing sound from the Power Adapter ?

So I moved to Caribbean Islands for schooling and the DSL Modem from local company here was plain 1 port one. The voltage here is 220V, so I have put a transformer and then plugged my Westel 327W into 110V and it works great.
However, I am noticing a buzzing sound from within the power adapter. The adapter is running somewhat hot since I plugged it in a few days ago. Should I be concerned about this buzzing sound or is it just that its sitting on my desktop and I am noticing it now ? Its loud enough to be heard in a completely quite small room....
    Thanks

Hi D_U, sorry to hear of your issue, sounds electrical and thereby out of my scope of support.

  • Any converter from PC power adapter to macsafe2

I have a 2013 MBP 15. I want to get an extra power adapter, but the authentic Apple one is too expensive. I have a bunch of old PC adapters lying around. Is there a converter tip that I can buy to use my PC power adapter on the MBP?
    Thanks!

I actually have a "universal" PC power adaptor that has many different plug styles (holes with different diameters), so if such as PC->MacSafe2 converter exists, I should be able to use it.

  • Is the power adapter covered under Apple Care?

I wrap the cord on my power adapter about twice per day going between home, school, and work. Consequently, the power cord has begun to fray where it comes out of the white power supply. Is a replacement power supply covered under Apple Care?

    Dorianj,
I would be interested to hear what Apple says regarding warranty coverage for your power supply. I had a slight, but annoying, problem with my Powerbook G4 adapter where the two-pronged wall adapter would not stay rigidly straight in the wall socket. Result was that it would slide out of the wall socket and lose its connection. I called Apple under my extended Applecare warrantly and they said that a replacement (only $10 anyway, but still...) was not covered as the problem was related to my use and handling. The tech on the phone conceded that if I had said that the adapter wasn't working it could have been replaced under the warranty. Of course he said he couldn't change the information on my "case" once that was entered.
Hope this experience is hellpful and please post back on your results.

  • HT1941 is the power adapter covered under apple care?

mine seems to have frayed over time. The computer is still under apple care.

Welcome to the Apple Support Communities
If it came with your Mac, it's covered by AppleCare, so Apple will replace it for free if the power adapter is broken

  • Dual Apple Cinema Studio Displays where one uses DVI-to-ADC adapter

I have an Apple Power Mac G4 MDD dual 1.25 GHz desktop with 2GB RAM running OSX Tiger 10.4.
It is supporting two Apple Cinema Studio LCD flat panel 17" displays simultaneously.
Currently, it has three internal hard drives and one SuperDrive.
I use this computer exclusively for my home recording studio for music production.
My main computer applications are therefore, Pro Tools LE 7.4, Steinberg Cubase, and Reason 3.0.
Also, I have the full Microsoft Office Suite, but rarely use Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access.
To drive the dual displays, I am using a ATI Radeon 9000 Pro which has one ADC port and one DVI port. Therefore, I am using a DVI-ator adapter to connect one of my ADC displays to the DVI port.
Yesterday, while recording, one of the two displays developed a broad vertical band (approx 4" of black with thin red, green and blue vertical lines). The other display was fine, however.
I decided to shut down my PowerMac G4 and disconnect the DVI-adapted display and re-boot with only the display that was connected to the ADC port. The Power Mac G4 booted up fine and ran only its display on this particular monitor.
However, within 5 minutes, the screen re-developed the broad black vertical band with thin red, green and blue lines running up-and-down as before. Therefore, I shut it down and re-booted again. This time, it never booted back up. Rather, its progress indicator (clock picture moving in clockwise diagram kept on spinning around & around, but never booted-up.
    What does this symptom indicate?
How can I boot-up from the SuperDrive?
Is there some special combination of hot keys to get to its setup mode (like in Windows)?
From these symptoms, is my PowerMac G4 MDD fixable?

    Hi-
    Welcome to Discussions!
It could be that your graphics card has bit the dust.
To boot to the OS install disc from the optical drive, hold the C key when powering up. This should bring you to the installer. In the window after selection of your desired language, from the menu bar, you canselect Utilities/Disk Utility. From there, run Repair Disk on the hard drive to insure the integrity of the hard drive.
    My computer won't turn on
Now, if you are able to boot, but no video is displayed, then your graphics card is probably dust.
    My computer displays no video
If you have a copy of the Apple Hardware Test, it would be good to run that, to verify the hardware.
If you don't have the AHT, you can download it, and burn it to CD, and run from that:
