Wire tricking the thrbrd xp to unlock multipliers
on most msi mother boards a new xp thrbrd, not the older palaminos
[if the core of your cpu is a rectangle its a thrbrd
if its a square then its a palamino and this does not work with them
you can also go here http://www.overclockers.com/tips00173/]
that has a default multiplier of 13 or over are not unlocked, try to change the multipler and it will not boot you will need to clear the cmos
Clear CMOS Guide
you can get around this with the WIRE TRICK
Just take a small peice of wire and connect the 2 pins that go in these holes.
AND BY THIN I MEAN ONE STRAND OF WIRE FROM SAY A SPEAKER LEAD
when fitting the cpu take care and do not force it
you will now be able to select multipliers up to 12.5
warning if you select 13 or more it will not boot ok,you have been warned
an if you mess it up dont come crying to msi or me
as an alternative you can give this lot 15 dollars but it just does the same thing

as above newer cpu are locked and this will not work with them at all -
A quick question- can I use a very thin wire using the wire trick, or does it need to carry a lot of current? I took apart some monstercable speaker wire, which is 100% ofc. One strand is very thin, is that a problem? We're talking hair thin almost. I'd like to use this unless it would be a problem.
Long as you're talking how you did it ...
How exactly did you get the wire in place? I tried this for a while last nite, maybe I'm just getting old, but I couldn't quite get a strand of wire to sit in those two holes on the motherboard... just curious if there's any good trick to it... -
Used the wire trick for my xp1900+
i did it, but don't know if it work!
also i have the insane Thermalright SLK800 on my k7t266 pro2!
temps drops from 45 c to 37 c (idle temps)!
load is 42 c!
cpu is still using 141 FSB and the multiplier is set to 'auto'
cpu speed at 1700mhz.
last night i did this (after the wire trick):
i chose FSB 133 and a multiplier of 14.
system can boot, but WITHOUT the GF4 Ti!
no screen activities!
i reset the BIOS, everything worked again.
please tell me how do i change the multiplier?
which setting is for my system the best you think?
is this right? if my system can't boot with the multiplier of 14, does this mean that the wire trick worked???
what about this? i choose FSB 100 and set the multiplier to 14 for test??
i used one thin speaker wire for the trick.
HELP!
Thanx!via doesn't have the agp/pci lock!!! not to sure about your board but i would imagine it has the 1/5 divider in it!! so at 166 everything is in spec. how high can you put the fsb before the 1/5 is no more?? i have know idea
i read a few reports about the kt3 ultra 1/5 is good till 200fsb...if that is true i wouldn't think the kt400 would be any different. but i don't know if that is true or not about the 1/5 still in at 200fsb
and also their isn't a program out there where you can force a agp/pci lock...powersrtrip is a videocard utility for overclocking your vidcard and tweaking driver settings etc. -
Hello all.
I am having a problem. I can't get the computer to post any time I changed the muliplier to increase the fsb. I did the wire trick and it seems as if nothing has changed. It IS possible that the wire broke when I pushed the CPU in the socket, but I don't think it did. My "stock" mulitplier should be gone once the trick is applied, right?
For example, I tried to run at 166fsb and 12x multiplier- no dice...well first of all which wire trick?.wrapping the pins or
u wire pushed in zif soket?........will the system post up when cmos has been cleared?....if so go into bios and check mhz.........should be 1995 at default settings.....if it shows this.........then you did not unlock it correctly......by default the cpu will go back to H/W..and if unlocked correctly the system will be showing about 600 mhz or so.....clearly using the 6 x multiplier........ -
[AMD] 3000+ Barton and wire trick
Does anyone know why the 2800+Barton with the wire trick worked for the 200FSB but the 3000+Barton doesn't? I tried with the 3000+ and it won't go to the 200FSB. I then tried the 2800+Barton again and it works. What is with this 3000+? I figured that if I took the 2800+ to a 3200+ then I could really get the 3000+ OCed. Did they do something to the 3000+ so that it wouldn't work?
At least I have a system that is running. I ought to be thankful for that. I have the 2800+333MHz and 2x512mb of Kingston 333MHz memory and an old P3 800MHz w/ 512mb. system. All I need is another socket A motherboard and with the parts from the P3 I will have another good system. The P2 is still running and is maxed out. It can't be upgraded any more. So I'll build another AMD system that will run just as well as this one. PLUS I'll start folding with that one also.

Does wire trick work on Palomino?
Hi, Please check what I have in my sig below. I guess I'm not sure what else I can do with my palomino. Will I benefit from doing the wire trick? I can set my fsb to 140-141 and get ~1.8GHz, multipier auto, but anything above that and it just doesn't POST. Should I think about selling my chip and getting a T-bred B or a Barton? I read about a Barton being bumped up 500MHz. Or should I just wait until November when DOOM 3 comes out and the new athlon 64's.
Thanks,
Mattno its a case ofolder way fill and paint bridges

what does "insane object at BDHP+7404 in the VI(GRAPHICS)0X80;(wire segment)WIRE." mean.
Visit NI knowledge base site and search for "insane object". You will find a full explanation and a solution in this KB: What Does an "Insane Object" Error Mean and What Should I Do?

Hi
After sending by email my program folder zipped with winrar I receive an dialog box error saving one of the VI ( Insane object at BDHP+420E30 in "IHMconfig.vi": {graphics } (0x80): Wire Segment (WIRE) ) and series of the error with another code error.
I don't know where does that come from , does anybody have a suggestion?
thanks

Reccomended Type Of Wire For DSL Phone Line?
I have my DSL modem on its own jack, and I need too replace the wiring from the jack to the service box, its currently half thermostat wire (for furnaces and such) and half phone line, I understand there are different types of wire, so I am wondering which type is the best, what I currently have is the flat 4 wire stranded, instead of solid, I am told that isnt reccommended. So I need to know what to get, that will work the best.

Aside from using cat-5 as the previous post suggests, typical inside wire telephone wire is a beige plastic covered 2 pair (4 wire) phone wire. Each wire is solid and not braided wire. You can probably get it in different lengths from a nearby lowes or home depot.
Typically, the red and green wire are used as the tip and ring connections for line 1 in your house. The black and yellow wire are used for line 2 if you have a second line or as spare wires in case either the red or green have an issue. A pair of wires will be needed to be connected at the entry point of your service and connected to the phone jack that you will connect the dsl modem to. Use the red and green.
Hope this helps.

Trying to measure voltage through SCXI-1127/1331 1-wire connection
We have NI hardwares like: 1) Chasis SCXI-1000, 2) DMM PCI- 4060, 3) MUX SCXI-1127 and 4) Terminal Block SCXI-1331
We have a system with two large glass plates standing vertically and placed parallel to each other each having 24 electrodes on them. Distance between them is 4-5 inches. The plates are places in such a way that the electrodes are on the outer side and accessible to the user. We are trying to flow different liquids of different density through the channel in between. Please find attached a picture of it.
So a total of 48 electrodes and hence, wires are connected, 24 on both sides. On each side there are 3 rows with 8 electrodes/row, making a total of 24 wires. Wire#1-24 are on side A (say) and wire# 25-48 are on side B (the other side). The medium between the two sides will be salted water (say for now).
We want to measure potential/voltage in such a manner so that we can calculate the voltage difference between all possible electrode combinations between side A and side B. Like V1-25, V1-26, V1-27,...,V1-48,V2-25,V2-26,........,V24-48, all 24 X 24 possible combinations. We are connecting two end of a power source to side A and side B so that there is some current flowing in the water.
I have connected wire# 1-48 to 1-48 in SCXI 1331 (left out the zero to avoid confusion). Now that I'm measuring values through the program attached ("Scanning_....vi"), I can see that the first 16 values are showing some values of standards E-2. But from 17-48 are showing values of standard 5E-3 and I guess they are not taking any values at all. Can you tell me why this might be happenning?
Can 1-wire measurement be applied for this scenario. If not then let me know how to achieve our goal. I can manually take a Multimeter and measure all the combinations one by one, but measuring all the values at the same instance would be better and that only can be done by automation and I hope that the NI hardwares I have, should be sufficient to do that. Please let me know if it is otherwise.
Another thing, in one of my previous contact with NI someone mentioned connecting 1_WIRE_LO_REF. Is it needed in this case? If yes, then if I connect one end to 1_WIRE_LO_REF, where should I put the other end?
In case the program is wrong or more than 16 values can not be taken please let me know alternate path or show me how to make changes in the program. I would appreciate your help in this issue. Thank you.

IM0000041.jpg 722 KBI connected the COM of my power source to the 1_WIRE_LO_REF. There are 4-5 points to connect. I choose the middle slot. Is there any significance of assigning so many slots to 1_WIRE_LO_REF?
No change in result. Can you please test run the program I attached and see whether it's correct or not. You'll see 48 segments getting the output. First 16 of them are showing some seemingly proper values. rset are either too small or as big as 5 V.
I'm providing 5Vs from the power source. You might have seen the old analog ones. I'm using one of them. there are different Voltgae option. I'm using the 5V and so I've connected a wire from the 5V connection to one of the electrodes on B side (28th electrode) and the COM ports goes to the A side (4th electrode) and also to 1_WIRE_LO_REF.
Now I'm thinking if the program if not working. Because it seems that we are getting (seemingly) proper values for the first sixteen and something's messing up the values for the the rest of the electrodes.
Do I have to use two 24X1 MUXs i.e, use physically different boards and also two different programs to measure them? Or I can just use 1-24 as 24X1 and 25-48 as another 24X1 in the same board and measure them through the same program? Thanks in advance.

Difference between ACH, Wires and Direct Debit
Can anyone tell me the difference between the following:
ACH
Wires
International Wires
Direct Debit
What is the additional configuration required from a functional consultant apart from setting them up as a payment method. Please help with all steps. and what inforamtion shouldbe requested from bank in order to set a data flow to and from the bankHi,
ACH - A provider of electronic funds transfer services in the United States, handling automated payments such as direct debit and direct credit.
Companies that use ACH send a DME file with information about the payments to be made. ACH then carries out the payments for them.
Direct Debit - Payment of an agreed amount that is collected from a customer's account by an originator on request.
A direct debit may or may not be subject to advance notice and the amounts may vary. Examples include the payment of utilities, news subscriptions, or the periodic collection of insurance premiums or loan payments.
Wire Transfer: Wire transfer is a method of transferring money from one entity to another
So U can create the APP Config FBZP for the ACH and Wire payments
Additionally search sdn.sap.com, you will find lot of information.
Please let me know if you need more information.
Assign points if useful.
