Wired client going through ap-manager on WLC?

This is part of the output from a show ip accounting:
172.21.129.3     172.18.129.114                 419              334799
172.21.129.3 is the IP of the AP-manager interface on my Wireless LAN Controller.
172.18.129.114 is a computer on my wired network.
Why would a computer on the wired network be sending traffic through the AP-manager interface on a WLC?

Hii , can you privide more information .
How are making sure traffic going via AP manager , are you doing trace route ?
Do you have dynamic AP manager
Do you have Guest LAN (wired) configured on controller.
Can you share o/p from "show interface summary and show interface detail " ?
Thanks

Why is a wired, LAN device going through the AP-Manager? All wired clients should get 172.18.4.x addresses. All wireless clients should get 172.19.4.x addresses and WAPs should get 172.20.4.x addresses. Since WLAN1 is up / down, I understand why WAPs aren't getting 172.20.4.x but why would a wired device be using the AP-Manager as it's source to the internet?

  • Can WLC's built-in DHCP provide IP addresses for wired client?

    Hi,
We've got a WLC running on 7.0.98.0. It's providing IP addresses for the Guest Wireless users. Now we'd like to put a couple of wired workstations for those customers who don't bring laptops. I'm wondering if I put these workstations on the same guest wireless vlan, they can still get IPs from the WLC. If not, I have set static IPs on these workstations.
    Thanks in advance.
    Robert

    Rob:
The answer is simply "No". WLC can not provide wired clients on same wireless VLAN with IP addresses if the DHCP is configured on WLC.
The case metnioned by fbarboza above is a "very" special configuraiton on WLANs where the WLC is configured to take care of some wired clients and it needs you to have two WLCs  (The featured is called wired guest). This special case does not apply at your situation.
With your situation my answer above applies.
Note A internal DHCP server pool will only serve the wireless clients of that controller, not clients of other controllers. Also, internal DHCP server can only serve wireless clients and not wired clients.

  • Can I restrict OS version upgrades for client MacBook Airs through Profile Manager?

    Hello everyone,
We have all our employees MacBook Airs (all on 10.9.3+) enrolled on Profile Manager as a group. When Mavericks first came out early adopters caused us no end of problems trying to work between 10.9 and those still on 10.8.
We now have the Server App (3.1.2) running on our server (a Mac Mini running on OS X 10.9.4). Is it possible to restrict a group from installing the next OS X  release (I can't mention its name or Apple takes the question down as it's not released yet) through Profile Manager? We can restrict access to the App Store but this is too general for us as people still need to be able to update Apps just not OS version updates.
    Thanks,

If your users are plain users, they can't install anything without Admin access.
If your Users have Admin access, they can bypass anything, including whatever you THINK you gave them as restrictions with Profile Manager.

  • Sharing internet to wired client using Airport Express

    hey
I'm trying to connect a client to my home network through ethernet to a airport express which is wirelessly connected to a Airport extreme base station (802.11n).
This is what i would like my setup to be.
ADSL to modem to Airport extreme wirelessly to Airport Express wired to client (will eventually be a xbox media center).
It says in the apple FAQs that this is possible by configuring the AX as a WDS remote or relay. Since i have no desire to extend the rage on the network, I've made it a WDS remote, but I tried to connect my macbook to it over ethernet to test, which didn't work. Is there any settings that need to be changed it the connection is going to be shared to a wired client?
    Thanks
    Mike

I have the xact same question as Mcgio. Earlier in this thread there was mention of WDS. From what I have gathered elsewhere, WDS is only necessary if you want to extend your wireless network? That is not what I want to do - I essentilly want to extend my wired network using the AX wirelessly.
I ask about WDS because it does not appear that my Netgear WNR834M router supports WDS (nothing about it in config or the manual).
Will what we are trying to work and what do we need to do?

  • Going through all elements in array

    Hi there,
This problem has been getting to me and I know the answer is right in front of my face, so just wondering if someone can help point it out for me?
I have a folder of files (txt, tdms, etc) and my code is set up to report back all the files on the folder and number of files as an array. Then I want to be able to go through each element 1 by 1 and use each sepearte element later on.
The idea is I will have a folder where new files are constantly saved and I was this program to check the folder (in case it has been updated) and then for me to be able to use the new files as well. (eventually i will assign each element in the array to the end of a path so that each file will be called as the system goes through the array).
I've tried this with a for loop, as in standard text based programming that is the go to way but when I run it like this in labview, it doesnt look like the system is running through the array. Is this just becaus eit is happening so fats,, it wont show on the front panel or have I missed something? I have attached the code

    Kelly,
accessing each individual item in the array is possible by using an "auto-indexing" input tunnel. Right-click your input-tunnel and select "Enable Indexing" for this. It is rather strange that it is not already like this as for for-loops, auto-indexing is default. Please note that with auto-indexing input-tunnels, you don't need to conntect the "N" terminal. Also, the "Index Array" function in the loop is not necessary as well (in fact, it will create a wiring error).
Output-tunnels is the same... but in your provided example, the code will be "Rube Goldberg" as it does nothing else then to copy the array if you configure the output-tunnel to be auto-indexing. So this only makes sense, if you add some analysis functions in the loop which modify specific elements.

  • Unable to start SOA server through Node Manager

    Hi All,
I am trying to install AIA 11.1.1.6.0 on the top of SOA Suite 11.1.1.6.0.
I was able to install successfully the weblogic server, rcu, soa and osb servers. Now, before installing the AIA, the document i am following it says, make sure to start the soa server through the node manager.
Now i start the admin server, then the node manager, to make sure i have checked that the node manager is up, i logged in to the weblogic console, went to Machines, and i can see that it is up and reachable.
Now using the WLST commands, first i connected to the node manager using command nmConnect(), then i am trying to start the soa server through node manager using the command start('soa_server1') command.
I am getting an error while trying to start soa server with nmStart() command, below is the error message...
"Error starting server soa_server1: weblogic.nodemanager.NMException: Exception while starting server 'soa_server1'"
I executed the dumpStack() command, and i am getting the output as "No stack trace available"
If i am able to start the soa server through the node manager, i can go ahead and install the AIA pack but this is not letting me go forward.
I also tried to start the soa server through the weblogic console., go to servers tab, select the soa_server1 and start, the soa server state is going to "FAILED_NOT_RESTARTABLE".
I followed some of the blogs like...
    http://neeraj-soa-tips.blogspot.com/2010/06/starting-admin-and-managed-servers.html
    http://www.javamonamour.org/2011/09/nmconnect-nmstart-nmkill.html
    Experts, please give your advice.
    Many Thanks,
    N

    Hi Narsing,
I'm assuming that you've followed the required Pre-config steps. If it is not working, I'd suggest to start the Admin and SOA server without node manager first. Then start your node manager and see if it is reachable from the WLS console. Then shut down your SOA server from command prompt and restart your SOA server from WLS console.
Verify the Listen Address of your Node Manager and start your node manager from command prompt by explicitly specifying the same address and port.
As WLS console internally uses node manager only to start your server, you would not need to use WLST scripts to do the same and only SOA server needs to be started using node manager.
    Regards,
    Neeraj Sehgal
    Hi Neeraj,
I made sure that in the weblogic console, in the machines tab, local machine-->configuration--->Node Manager, I have given the correct Listen Address (Narsing-PC) and the listen port 5556.
I have made sure the property StartScriptEnabled= true.
I have started the admin server through startWebLogic.cmd command, now i start the node manager by going to the C:\Oracle\Middleware\wlserver_10.3\server\bin and running the command startNodeManager.cmd, then i go to the weblogic console--->servers--->control--->soa_server1--->start , it is going to      FAILED_NOT_RESTARTABLE status.
If i see the log messages in the nodemanager.log, this is the below message...

  • Dreamweaver freezes every morning, console shows it's going through all my fonts?

I'm on a mac, 10.9.2, with Dreamweaver CC (whatever's the newest version). Every morning, after starting Dreamweaver, I get about a minute or two, then it freezes. When I check the console log, I can see that it's going through all my fonts. I could publish the log, but it's the same line over and over, just with different fontnames (and unfortunately I have maaaany fonts, though only a few of them are active):
CoreText performance note: Client called CTFontCreateWithName() using name "Futura Light" and got font with PostScript name "FuturaBT-Light". For best performance, only use PostScript names when calling this API.
I have to admit I don't know what this means, or what to do about this? The other CC apps don't do this, only Dreamweaver (which shouldn't need any fonts to begin with, except for a few standard font-stacks). Anyway, usually I force-quit Dreamweaver, and after that it works fine (as fine as Dreamweaver usually does, at least).
A note on the side – here at the bureau we use Extensis' Universal Type Client for font management.
Any help? Good ideas? Lucky guesses? ;-)
    Thanks

We have checked out the issue & looks like DW starts scanning all the Extensis fonts at startup. We are investigating into it.
In the meantime it would be great if you can file a bug here. This will help us prioritize it based on the number of user requests.

  • DHCP stopped working for wired clients (possibly due to new Windows 8 machine on network?)

My home office network has always been rock solid but has suddenly stopped allocating DHCP addresses to wired clients (wireless still works). The only thing that has changed has been the introduction of 2 Windows 8.1 laptops for my children over Christmas, and I wonder if these are the cause?
My network set-up is as follows...
I have a fibre broadband connection into the home office which plugs into my Airport Extremes WAN port. I then have a single ethernet cable going from one of the LAN ports on the AE to a gigabit ethernet hub, into which I have 10+ machines. The AE is set to use PPPoE to get the net connection and the network setting is to use DHCP to sign addresses. The IP addresses are assigned to the wired clients, plus a couple of airport expresses, and a number of iPhones, iPads etc. This has all worked fine for a couple of years, and any device just gets an address and works.
At Christmas both my children got Windows 8 laptops (don't ask!). I connected them to the wifi network (served by the Airport Extreme) and they got assigned an IP address correctly. They can browse fine, and also auto-updated to 8.1 at the same time.
I wasn't working in the home office at that time but did notice a few things not connecting and when I did check, none of the wired devices was receiving an IP address. They all come up as self-assigned. Nothing has changed on the network itself, the cables are still plugged in (the machines haven't moved!). I think somewhere on the network a second DHCP server is running, but I cannot see where. The only new thing are the Windows 8 laptops. Could they be the problem?

I've managed to spend some time testing and here is what I found out.
Before doing anything I turned off the two PC laptops to make sure they were not available
I powered down the Airport Extreme and disconnected the ethernet cable in the LAN port
I powered on the Airport Extreme
I then connected my laptop (running 10.10) via a single ethernet cable to one of the LAN ports. The laptop had wifi off.
I checked the network control panel, and I had a valid IP address via DHCP. I checked a couple of websites and was able to view them.
I then unplugged the ethernet cable from my laptop and plugged it into my ethernet switch (keeping the there end in the same LAN port on the AE). No machine on the network was able to get an IP address via DHCP, they all came up self-assigned.
I then unplugged the ethernet cable from the AE LAN port. I unplugged one of the cables from the switch that goes to a second switch on the network and plugged that into the same AE LAN port. All the machines connected to that switch came up self-assigned and won't get an IP address via DHCP.
In summary, if a single machine is wired to the AE it gets a valid IP address via DHCP. If multiple machines are connected they don't.
With the Windows machines turned off, I now thinking they might not be the cause. BUT nothing has changed on the network to make this happen.

  • How can I attach a photo to an email, using Photoshop Elements9,without going through the Revel cloud

How can I attach a photo to an email using Photoshop Elements 9, without going through the Adobe Revel cloud?

    Adobe user wrote:
I'm using Windows 7.  I have no email clients.
You don't need an Email client nor Adobe Revel account to send email and photos as attachment.  All you need is an email account (could be free web-based account such as Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, AOL or whatever including from your own ISP.  And of course an Internet Connection.
Now the most obvious requirement is out of the way so you need to go in to your Organizer and click on Share button and choose Photomail. Select the photo you want to send and follow the instructions that are on your screen.
You also need to request an Adobe Verification Code to enable you to use Adobe's Mail Servers to send the photos for you.  To do this go to:
    Edit >> Preferences>> Sharing
Look for something like this and fill out the red boxes where indicated (click on this image to see it clearly).
    Hope this gets you started.

Flash Player is a browser add-on, not an executable program.
If you need to open a local SWF file you will need the standalone player (Projector) from http://www.adobe.com/support/flashplayer/downloads.html
Note that the download is the player, not an installer, so you will need to make the file association manually.

The server has tried to deliver this message, without success, and has stopped trying. Please try sending this message again. If the problem continues, contact your helpdesk
We had checked with our Exchange administrators and they have advised that the email is trying to be sent, but in the destination it is being rejected. How can I get this issue to be addressed?

    Hello praveen_haridas,
Welcome to the HP Support forums.  I understand that your corporate emails are failing when trying to send an email to the Laserjet 200 MFP 276nw printer's ePrint email address.
Are you getting any messages about the failed messages in your ePrintCenter/HP Connected account?  If so what does the message state about the failed job?
    Thank you.
    Regards,

  • Captivate 5: is there a way to prevent someone from taking the quiz, without going through the conte

    Hi.
Is there a way in Captivate 5 to prevent someone from clicking on the quiz to take it, without having gone through the content?
    CB.

    Hi.
Regarding preventing someone from taking the quiz without going through the content...
I decided to separate the quiz out of the project as a separate item.
We are going to use a Learning Management System which will house the module to control the access.
The LMS can be set to not allow people to click on the Quiz link, until they have gone through the content.  (So they cannot by-pass the content and just do the quiz).
I was trying to find a way to control this from within Captivate 5 and keep people from being able to click on the quiz without going through the content. (And keep the quiz inside the original project).
However, this LMS solution will work for this module.
    Thanks everyone!

  • Email becomes unreadible after going through Cisco email gateway

    Hi all,
I have an issue with one sender who is trying to email password protected attachments to other staff in our organization.
The issue seems to only occur when the email goes through our C370, if he sends to an externally hosted email account the email and attachment can be opened, and when that email is then sent as an attachment back into our organization it is also openable, which seems to rule out our clients.
Sanitized header from the C370 below is part of the message header which I think might contain the problem, I have removed the first part with to & from as I didn't know if it was relevant..

Could you please try to put another DNS server on the ESA? Like ISP's DNS or a public one.
