Wireframe

Would their be a third party plug-in that allowed me to manipulate wireframes beyond four edges and four corners and perhaps something that supported bezier curves would be nice. Or is there something entirely different that would allow me to do this in a different way.
I'm using FCE4

Hello. I have a related question. I am a FCE/FCP newbie.
I want to superimpose video onto a video of an iPhone (on the iPhone's display).
Do I need to do something fancy using Motion? (I assume this is what Motion does?) or can I do an overlay with the second video, but have the video distorted (?) to fit the faux-iPhone display screen dimensions and orientation?
Thanks.
PS - or maybe I should just have the iPhone play back the second video and shoot THAT to save a heck of a lot of effort but seriously, I would like to know how best to do this. Thanks.

  • How to view multiple wireframes in project on Creative Cloud?

I've synched a one page wireframe from Proto to Creative Cloud and viewed in my desktop web browser okay.
Since then I've added a couple more pages to the Proto Project and synched again. But I'm not seeing the added pages in the file on Creative Cloud.
Do files on the Creative Cloud get cached in my browser? Or is there something else I need to do so I can see the added pages?
    Thanks,
    DAN

    Good question.
There is a hidden feature in Creative Cloud.
When you preview your Proto project, there is Zoom icon at bottom right corner of the thumbnail preview.
Clicking the icon will open up new tab in browser to preview Live HTML of your Proto project.
    Please try it out
    Thanks,

  • How to center wireframe layout in browser window

    HELP!!
I've created a set of wireframes for a website in Proto but when I bring them up in a browser window the layout is always left aligned and I cannot figure out how to get the layout to center in the browser window.
I've used margin: 0 auto; on the container div but it does no good, the layout stays left aligned. I'm about to pull my hair out on this one.
    The URL is http://www.bluegrasswebservices.com/kpp/index.html
    Thanks for your help
    Gary

I had the same issue and decided to make the change myself. All you have to do is add a wrapper div, match it to the width of your file and center it via CSS. It would def be much more convenient to have this as an option, but alas your solution is below....
    HTML
    <div id="wrapper">
    Your page content
    </div>
    CSS
    #wrapper{
        width: (width of your content);
        position: relative;
        margin: 0 auto;

  • InDesign for wireframing websites?

Do any of you use InDesign for wireframing websites?  I need to create a wireframe for a site.  I was all prepared to do it in Fireworks.  Fireworks has some fantastic features, but I need better PDFs than what it can export.  (I tried every setting I could think of but PDFs created from my wireframes always looked fuzzy -- I guess Fireworks can't export vector into a PDF.)  So next up:  I was considering Illustrator.  Then, I saw something on InDesign Secrets about how some folks use InDesign for wireframing.  And I do know InDesign better than Illustrator.  So wondering if I should try it that way.  Do any of you use InDesign for that purpose?  If not, got any recommendations for software for wireframing (something that will give me better PDFs than Fireworks)?
    Thanks, Phyllis

    Hey Phyllis!
So recently I've created a REALLY basic wireframe using InDesign. I basically created the visual direction so my client could easily understand how the Web site would flow. In other words, boxes with page names and lines connecting them. It can be really simple if all you're trying to do is show the site's direction.
From there, we will create the in-depth visual layout for the splash page, home page and a global page (This is where I utilize Photoshop/Fireworks/Illustrator or Flash). This is where we will dive into color schemes, and layout schematics. In our case, this a site where we have no logo established, but have the overall concept in place, so that's why we haven't decided on an overall theme just yet. Still working out the kinks!!
    Hope this helps!

  • Is there a way to convert the wireframes created in InDesign to a clickable prototype?

I have created wireframes in InDesign and trying to convert to a clickable and working prototype. Is there a way to convert the wireframes created in InDesign to a working prototype as HTML or clickable PDF?

Yes, there are ways (read: you can find ways) to accomplish that, but it isn't really an intended workflow, so nothing about it is "automatic." In the time it will take to make a functional wireframe prototype with InDesign, you could be building the actual site. The features you need for rapid prototyping are found in Fireworks.

  • How can I make the wireframe identical for various video clips?

    Hello,
For the end credits on a small movie, I would like the video clips to be much smaller, and the background to be black. I know how to make the clips smaller on the screen, and this is done by adjusting the wireframe.
I am trying to have the wireframe remain in its identical size and location across various clips but cannot figure how to do this other than change the wireframe independently for each single video clip, making it an approximate job.
Is there a way to ensure that the properties of the wireframe (size, position) remain constant for a series of clips? I have tried to find some properties settings for the wireframe which I could replicate for all clips but this search has proved unsuccessful.
Many thanks in advance for any help.

Use the Paste Attributes command as detailed in this link:

  • Wireframes to portal look and feel

    hi,
i am working on a webcenter portal application.
as usual, we have got wireframes (html prototypes) from customer which has html, js and css files.
now i have to produce same kind of look and feel on webcenter portal.
please suggest what shall i do?
    is this recommended way?
i copy content of css file which i got as part of wireframes into portal-skin.css file, now i use html components (div, ul, li, p etc) in page template and other jspx pages (reference could be the html files which i got in wireframes).
    please suggest.

    Hi.
    You can select two ways:
    - Continue with your HTML + CSS and create templates based directly on wireframes. Faster and easier solution for non-adf people.
    - Translate your wireframes to a ADF Templates and use ADF Skinning to achieve the styles. Slower and hard if you don't have much experience with it.
About the solution of maintain HTML + CSS:
    - Maintain your structure of CSS, images and JS in separated folders of skin folder (In Web Content or in project PortalWebAssets).
    - In Skin files (like portal-skin.css) change ADF Skinning of components only. Is the best way to maintain the hierarchy of adf skins.
    About the solution full ADF:
    - Read this document about full ADF Skin and Templates: http://www.oracle.com/technetwork/middleware/webcenter/portal/learnmore/pagetemplates-1438595.pdf
    More info:
    - In adf-config.xml you can provide rewrite rules to search your static-files when you are using Web Server (OHS) to server static-files.
    I hope this help you.
    Regards.

  • [SOLVED] Wireframe architectural 3D rendering?

I finally found what I needed: I was looking for "Parallel projections"
I am implementing this in java, so hopefully there may be a helpful API, but I suspect that I just need a good keyword to google with.
I know a fair amount of basic trigonometry, but contemplation of the following leaves me confused, and I can't construct a google query that finds a solution very well:
I'd like to represent what are essentially wireframe polygons from a 3D positional perspective. However, it should be a 3D perspective that does not bother taking into account field of vision or horizon, depth of view, etc. It is more of a map-making/architectual sort of rendering (mostly overhead, from the left, and right, but with the ability to rotate horizontally/vertically -- and I know, must be quite simple). The math to convert a set of X Y Z points and the perspective angles to a 2D plane view must be relatively easy, but I can only find information on straight "real life" wireframe rendering using common depth-oriented rendering techniques.
A java API might be nice, but if there is a specific term for what I am describing, it would be better if I went and learned the math behind it also :)
    Thanks!

Okay I have it narrowed down.
    The mkinitcpio hook fails with:
    2011-11-09 09:29:44
Building fglrx module for 3.0-ARCH kernel ...
Kernel header files are absent: directory /lib/modules/3.0-ARCH/build doesn't exist! Game over
The folder is indeed missing. I have linux-headers installed, but it installs to /lib/modules/3.1.0-4-ARCH/. I have tried updating catalyst-hook, and it still looks in the 3.0 dir.

  • Photoshop 3D Problems with displaying shadows and wireframe

    Hi there,
I need to create some textures for 3D objects for our semester project in uni and it's quite practical to do that in Photoshop. I'd like to paint on the 2D texture (new window) and check from time to time if everything fits. But I got two problems that make it quite hard:
    1. Problem occures when using my Laptop: There are almost no shadows. I tried to play around with the settings, but it doesn't affect the displayed model in any way. It always looks the same way you can see here:
My Laptop is probably not the best system, but it actually fits the minimum system requirements. Nevertheless I think my graphics chip might be not good enough, or what do you think?
    Dell Vostro 3350, Windows 7 64 bit, Intel Core i3-2330MCPU @ 2.20GHz, 8GB RAM (2GB VRAM), Intel HD 3000, 1TB SSHD.
    2. Problem: I also tried to work on my Dad's PC, which doesn't have such a good graphics card but is in total much better than my laptop of course:
    Windows 7 64 bit, Intel Core i7-2600 CPU @ 3.40GHz, 12 GB RAM, ATI FirePro V3800 (FireGL V) (512MB VRAM).
The Problem that occures when using my Dads PC is: It somehow cannot show me the wireframe of the object (that would work with my laptop -.-). When I go to the menu 3D most of the options are grey and always not clickable. Same for the 3d --> create painting overlay --> wireframe (I need that). I've seen it in a Youtube Tutorial that it actually SHOULD work. I created a new texture for the model, went to "Edit Texture", it opens the texture in 2D in a new window without showing the wireframe (and I also cannot use the function under 3D painting overlay). When I open the texture with my laptop, it immediately shows me the wireframe ...
Those two problems make it almost impossible for me two work on the textures. If I could at least work on one of the two systems ...
So if anyone has an idea how I could solve at least one problem, I'd be really happy. I need to hurry a bit ... those technical problems already cost me a lot of time and I don't want to miss our project's deadline. :S
    Thanks in advance!

Please! Anyone? I could really need help!

  • How disable the full screen option in the standard or wireframe video player ?

I was wondering if (and how) it's possible to just disable the full screen option in the controls that appear below the video player (standard or wireframe).
I want to have a video player with the progression bar, play / pause options, the counter without the full screen option because: "When someone clicks the Full Screen button during playback, the video opens in a pop-up window. Any interaction used to transition to a new state in the application does not work."

    //Catalyster33//

I don't think so from within Flash Catalyst. That is all part of the component. I took a quick look at the docs, and did not see that element at as a parameter. There are only two options I can think of: either build a custom controller in  Flash Catalyst (which may not have all the same functionality as the stock controller) or take your project into Flash Builder and modify the controller skin there.

  • Wireframing and PDF Resolution

Hi, I'm taking a class in Web design.  We're working on planning out a website, and my project right now is to do the wireframing for the website.  I'm allowed to use whatever program I want for the wireframing, and Fireworks sounds like a really good option.  However, I have to submit my final wireframes in PDF format.  Is there any way to get a PDF of decent resolution from Fireworks?  When I export as PDF, it's always very very jagged on screen, even though it's just text and shapes.  The text is selectable in the PDF which would lead me to think that it's still in vector format; however, it looks terrible.  Are there any workarounds?  Any multiple steps I can go through to get a decent PDF?  I have to wireframe the whole website that I'm creating.  Fireworks seems like the perfect tool, but I can't turn in a low-resolution PDF for a grade.
Any suggestions?  Should I switch to Illustrator?  I don't know it as well, but I understand it has symbols in it also.  Do they work the same way Fireworks symbols do?
I hear Visio is the program of choice, but I can't afford to buy that one.  And really Fireworks seemed like it'd be ideal.  Any suggestions?
    Thanks, Phyllis

Well, I've tried everything I can think of.  The only thing that almost works is saving as an Illustrator 8 file, opening that in Illustrator CS4 and saving as a PDF.  That makes a crisp PDF.  But the big problem with that method is that the format is so old the conversion is poor -- I end up having to redo all the fonts in Illustrator.  I tried saving the fonts as paths but that (again) gives a crummy PDF.  I guess if I'm going to do all that I may as well just work in Illustrator in the first place (unless someone knows where I could get a copy of Illustrator 8?)
Anyone else have this problem?  I tried making Photoshop PSD files, opening in Photoshop and saving as a PDF.  I tried opening the PNGs in Photoshop to make a PDF.  I tried opening the PNGs in Illustrator and making a PDF from there.  I tried many many combinations.  As far as I can tell, there's no way to make a usable PDF in Fireworks.
I understand that the images from Fireworks would be low-resolution in a PDF.  But I don't understand why text and vectors look so bad in a PDF.   And really, a PDF with 72 dpi images generally looks decent on screen -- at least when it's made from some program other than Fireworks.
Ugh.  I spent many hours today reading and watching videos on how to do wireframing efficiently in Fireworks, only to find that I can't use it.  Even if this were for a client rather than just for schoolwork, I couldn't risk using a program that won't let me make a reasonable PDF.  People ask for those all the time.
Does anyone know if Fireworks CS5 can make a good PDF?  I might be able to upgrade.  Or does anyone know of another good program for wireframing (one that can make PDFs obviously)?  One that's not too expensive?  (I'd love to learn Visio, but I just can't budget for that.)
    Thanks, Phyllis

  • Can't get rid of the wireframe window

Like the title says, I cannot get rid of wireframe that is displayed when dragging a window. I tried using the command line, and using the gconf editor, still, the wireframe still shows.
Has anyone come across the same issue?
    Thanks.

What gconf key did you try to modify? The command you need to run in Solaris 10 is:
    % gconftool-2 -s --type=boolean /apps/metacity/general/reduced_resources false
in earlier versions of JDS/GNOME (Solaris 9), "reduced_resources" was called something else, I forget what off-hand though...

  • Wireframing: Illustrator or InDesign?

I am beginning to do web page/UX wireframing at a much more serious level these days. I have a long history with Illustrator and respect its power.
However..when it comes to handling type and objects consistently, I find that InDesign is the winner.
in InDesign, you can change the size of a box with an outline and corner radius without also scaling the corner radius; it takes more steps to both scale a box without altering a corner radius in AI.
For type-handling, InDesign is orders of magnitude better than AI.
However..I am not a seasoned Wireframing pro, so I'm very interested in hearing those who are experienced wireframers weigh in on this question...
Which tool do you prefer to use for wireframing, and why?
I'm cross-posting this same content in the Illustrator forum as well..
    Thank you!

  • Please help me to get the wireframe component scroll bar to actually scroll??

I can't seem to figure out how to get this working?? I have a page that is long and needs scrolling capabilities.   Blargh.
    Gina

    Hi RemsX,
I'm glad you found some steps that worked for you, but you should be able to set up a scroll panel more easily without those strange extra steps.  Try the following:
Draw a few rectangles (say, 5) arranged in a vertical stack.
Place a wireframe Vertical Scrollbar to the right of the rectangles.
Select everything and Convert to > Scroll Panel
Double-click to edit the Scroll Panel
Select all the boxes -- but not the Scroll Bar, and Convert to > Scrolling Content
You should now see a dotted-line bounding box surrounding the rectangles.  Drag the bottom of the dotted-line box upwards, so that the bottom one or two rectangles are hidden (clipped).
File > Run, and verify that dragging the scroll bar causes the stack of boxes to scroll.
Does that work for you?  You shouldn't need to convert anything to a generic component or graphic, or place the scrollbar inside the content...  If you're having trouble with the above steps, please post back with details about which step didn't work out and we'll try to help more...
