Wireless accesspoint needs to be reset every morning

We do have 2 airport extreme stations that needs to be reset every morning before users can connect to it.
We connected the airports to a UPS to see if the problem disappeared but it is still there.
One of the lights of the airport extreme is off (left)
by resetting the airport everything is back to normal.
the airports do have the latest software installed.
I do know there is a lot of interfearence in the building.
Could this be the cause or is it something else.

I think I am having the same problem. Every morning and sometimes in the middle of the day when I leave my ocmputer for a few hours I have to restart my DSL modem and my airport as well as a router i have for my VONAGE phone. Everything is working correctly and connected correctly as well. It works fine but when i leave the computer for some time I lose my internet connection. I disconnected my airport entirely and just plugged the DSL directly into my computer and there was no problem so it is for sure some conflict with my airport extreme. I have the main base station which is the Airport Extreme and a express for my stereo and then another express in the back of the house extending the range.
It was all working perfectly when i first set it up but now this just started. i have been on the phone with vonage and with SBC for the dsl and the problem is not with their hardware. I tried calling Apple but they wanted $$ to even talk to me over the phone which I thought was pretty lame.
Can anyone offer suggestions that might help me?
thanks

  • How to fix a router needs to be reset every morning?

I just purchased a new WRT54G V8.0. I upgraded to 8.0.0.2 and set up my network. I have 3 wireless devices and one wired device. The wireless devices are the Desktop, the Laptop, and the Wii console. The wired device is the Xbox.
My problem is this... The network works perfectly all day, no problems what so ever except every morning the router has to be reset and I can't figure out why. Any ideas on how to fix this??
Wireless is set up for DHCP using WAP-PSK with TKIP auth and MAC adress filtering. Everything connects and work fine throughout the day but every morning it needs to be reset.
    Thanks.

already tried that. the problem is that the router won't assign an IP. Even on the wireless machines, the router shows up as available. I can even connect to it, the problem is it won't assign an IP. I've reset the preferences for the wireless connection, including the WAP key then attempted to recconect. I still couldn't get an IP.
This morning I just reset the router without playing with any settings on the computers. After resetting the router I attempted to reconnect. It asked me to enter the WAP key again, so I did and it connects perfectly.
It's not a huge problem I suppose... but it's really annoying to have to reset the router every morning.

  • Time Capsule needs to be reset every time I print wirelessly or watch Apple TV

    Hello all!
My Time Capsule keeps dropping my wireless printer and Apple TV. Every time I want to stream a movie to my Apple TV it needs to be reset, and everytime I want to print wirelessly it needs to be reset. However, my internet connection remains constant and never has any interuptions.
Please help, it's getting really annoying to run upstairs to reset the time capsule every time I wanna watch a movie.
    Thanks

It is reported here all the time that the TC needs daily reboots.. you are highly fortunate that it is only weekly..
The fact is the old TC using 7.5 firmware was probably hugely more reliable than the current one which is not able to be flashed back beyond 7.6. There is a bug.. and as yet no Apple confession of issues.
But most people can get away without a reboot.. you just need to disconnect all users.. which was an option in the v5 utility.. now left out of v6.
Strongly recommend you install v5 utility.
(Or get electrical timer to restart the TC on a nightly basis).
How to load 5.6 into ML.
    1. Download 5.6 for Lion.
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1482
Click to open the dmg but do not attempt to install the pkg.. it won't work anyway.
    2. Download and install unpkg.
    http://www.timdoug.com/unpkg/
Run unpkg on the desktop.. it is very simple.. drag the AirPortUtility56.pkg file over to unpkg.. and it will create a new directory of the same name on the desktop.. drill down.. applications utilities .. there lo and behold is Airport utility 5.6 .. drag it to your main utilities directory or just run it from current location.
You cannot uninstall 6.1 so don't try.. and you cannot or should not run them both at the same time.. so just ignore the toyland version.. the plastic hammer.. and start using 5.6.. a real tool.
For screen shots see this post.
    https://discussions.apple.com/thread/4668746?tstart=0
Most common message in history of the TC.. something has failed to unmount.. Lion and esp. Mountain Lion are affected.
Simple way.. reboot the TC to lose the connections..
    Might take a network reboot.
But from 5.6 utility you can disconnnect all users.

  • Need to reboot WRT54G2 every morning

Need to reboot WRT54G2 every morning but only for my wireless printer. Everything else works great. Print job sits in spooler until router is reset then it will go through

I think it must be the issue with the printer settings on the computer.
Go to Printer properties. Click on Advanced tab. You will find the option print directly to the printer. Select that option and see if that works.

  • HT1414 why does my iPhone 5s shut down unpredictably and needs to be reset every time to start back up?

why does my iPhone 5s shut down unpredictably and needs to be reset every time to start back up?

    Hi Cyprus11,
Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.
If your iPhone is shutting down unexpectedly, I recommend going through these troubleshooting steps:
    iPhone: Hardware troubleshooting
    http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2802
Will not turn on, will not turn on unless connected to power, or unexpected power off
Verify that the Sleep/Wake button functions. If it does not function, inspect it for signs of damage. If the button is damaged or is not functioning when pressed, seek service.
Check if a Liquid Contact Indicator (LCI) is activated or there are signs of corrosion. Learn about LCIs and corrosion.
Connect the iPhone to the iPhone's USB power adapter and let it charge for at least ten minutes.
After at least 30 minutes, if:
The home screen appears: The iPhone should be working. Update to the latest version of iOS if necessary. Continue charging it until it is completely charged and you see this battery icon in the upper-right corner of the screen . Then unplug the phone from power. If it immediately turns off, seek service.
The low-battery image appears, even after the phone has charged for at least 20 minutes: See "iPhone displays the low-battery image and is unresponsive" symptom in this article.
Something other than the Home screen or Low Battery image appears, continue with this article for further troubleshooting steps.
If the iPhone did not turn on, reset it while connected to the iPhone USB power adapter.
If the display turns on, go to step 4.
If the display remains black, go to next step.
Connect the iPhone to a computer and open iTunes. If iTunes recognizes the iPhone and indicates that it is in recovery mode, attempt to restore the iPhone. If the iPhone doesn't appear in iTunes or if you have difficulties in restoring the iPhone, see this article for further assistance.
If restoring the iPhone resolved the issue, go to step 4. If restoring the iPhone did not solve the issue, seek service.
    Best,
    Jeremy

  • WIFI NEEDS TO BE RESET EVERY 2 MINUTES

ON MY WI FI I HAVE TO RESET MY IPHONE 5 WIFI EVERY 2 MINUTES IF LEFT UNUSED. CAN ANYBODY GUIDE PLEASE AS THERE ARE OTHER PHONES IN THE SAME WIFI NETWORK N THEY DONT NEED TO BE RESET LIKE THE WAY I DO ON MY IPHONE 5

    - It's connected behind another router (WRT54G). It's been working without any problems for 2 weeks in that config. - I upgraded the firmware the day I got it, before I set it up with my VOIP providers. - I have already reset it to factory defaults when the problem cropped up with no improvement. * I'm reluctant to re-flash it now since it loses network connectivity. If it were to go on the blink in the middle of the reflash process, wouldn't it make the box completely unresponsive? If that's the last recourse and the only thing anyone can recommend, I guess I'll try that if Linksys phone support can't get me any other solutions when I call them today.

  • My Ipad3 is very slow after installing 8.02 and needs a hard reset every 2 minutes.

    Hello Community,
I had a wonderful running Ipad3 32gb running on IOS7, now after installing IOS8.02 this device is slow (e.g. Safari) and needs a restart (hard reset) every to minutes because it freezed up. I´m quite unhappy. I tried to stop processes and have a enough free space on the disk. Nothing helped.
    I can´t imagine that you beta-tested IOS8 on the IPAD3?
    Any solution by Apple?

    (A) Try reset all settings
    Settings>General>Reset>Reset All Settings
    (B) Setup as new (data will be lost if you do not have backup)
    Settings>General>Reset>Erase all content and settings

  • Does my password need to be reset every once in awhile?

My iPad will occasionally decided to forget my password, but when I re-enter it, it will refuse to acknowledge it. I can only access the features of iTunes and the App Store etc, if I reset my password on the apple site. There seems to be no real pattern for this treachery that I can figure out, so perhaps I am just being a noob and am not aware that the apple password needs to be reset after awhile? This has happened approximately 4 times and I am Running out of password ideas.

Nope! I'm not getting any message other than one asking me if I have forgotten my password, then giving me the option of recovering it. My iPad simply refuses to accept that the password that I put in is correct... This happened before iOS6 as well... Could it be that I am living in a country other than where my AppleID is based?

  • Stb resets every morning when tv is turned on

I know that VZ pushes out updates overnight that cause the stb to restart. On my standard std, the box resets itself, so by the time I turn on the tv in the morning, I'm back to regular programming.
When this happens on my hd stb, the stb doesn't reset itself until I turn on the tv in the morning. When I turn on the tv, I get the screen showing that the stb is restarting. I have to wait a few minutes until I can begin watching tv.
Is this happening to anyone else, and why is this happening?

    Already under discussion, see here:

  • WRT150N needs to be reset every week

    WRT150N V1.1 Firmware 1.01.9
On average once per week all of the devices in the house can no longer connect to the WRT150N. Unplugging the WRT150N for 30 seconds and replugging it in invariably solves the problem.
My WRT54 did this too, but I figured it would've been fixed by now.
Is there a solution to this problem?
Everytime I have to reset the WRT150N, I have to reset my NAS - everything seems to recover ok - but it is still a pain.
    Thanks,
    Bob

I already have the latest firmware. Like the people on the thread below that goes on for 7 pages about the same problem, I have tried a lot of these standard solutions and none work for any great length of time.
It also turns out it isn't once a week - my wife said she actually has to reset the modem almost every day when she goes to use the internet!
I will probably just dump this thing. It sounds like the Airport Extreme is a popular choice.
If there is a real solution I would like to hear it before I spend more dough.
    Thanks,
    Bob

  • Home Sharing needs to be reset every time.

I use Home Sharing to watch movies from my late 2009 iMac on my 3rd Gen Apple TV. Sometime in the past few iTunes/Apple TV updates my library stopped showing up on the Apple TV. This is remedied by turning off Home Sharing at the iMac and then turning it on again. This is a relatively simple fix but it is a pain in the ***. Prior to these recent updates I could boot the iMac, wake the Apple TV, and the library was always recognized. Home Sharing just always worked without resetting anything.
I have read some other discussions on this topic and do not consider never letting the Apple TV sleep or never powering down my iMac to be acceptable solutions. I have always put the Apple TV to sleep when not in use and my iMac gets turned completely off every night. This isn't going to change and it shouldn't have to. I just want my setup to work as it previously did. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Turn off all Firewalls.  This solved the problem for me.

  • IPhone 4 turning off randomly once in day. Need to hard reset every time.

    Hi,
My iPhone 4 is about 2.5 years old. Few days back it turned off suddenly while i was calling. It was not turning on from power button so  I reset it by pressing home+power key. It starts and work normally. After few days it again turned off and i again reset it. Now this behaviour is continueing. I have tried reseting it but issue not resolve. Please help to fix this

Sounds like you need to take it back to the Apple store and tell them the replacement isn't working.

  • Mini resets every morning

every moring i turn on my ipod the apple logo is on the screen and i have not reset it, why????

After a prolonged period without use (ie, overnight) the iPod goes in "deep" sleep to conserve power. To turn it on you press the select button and the Apple logo appears while it starts up. No big deal.

  • Msnbc will not hold its setting..local weather, news needs to be reset every time firefox is opened

When I open firefox, the settings for msnbc I have set default to a different city and local news. When I reset them and save them on msnbc's websit and close the browser, they once again default to the wrong city.

No, the app does not have to completely restart. It gets shifted in its open state into storage. Similar to how a computer uses the hard disk when it has insufficient memory.
What complicates things is that sometimes memory does not get returned for reuse when you close an app. Thus yo should periodically double click the Home button and "delete" unnecessary apps from the multitasking dock and power off and then back on the iPod.

  • Ipod touch crashes when in sleep mode... needs to be reset every time

When my ipod goes into sleep ("slide to unlock") mode and has been left for more than five minutes, it won't come back to life without holding down both buttons to reset it. It also seems to kill the battery when it goes into the crash state.
This only happens with the application upgrades (maps etc) applied.
I have tried reset, restore etc. The only fix is to revert back to pre upgrade verions.
This is frustrating and makes it difficult to use the ipod. Does anyone have any similar experiences or suggestions...?

That is the first thing I tried when I got my iPod back from AppleCare and they said the technicians couldn't find anything wrong with it. I restored it in iTunes, only this time I set it up as NEW and did not restore from back-up , thinking that could have been the problem. Only mine still froze up once that night after I set it up as a new pod. So it froze up once on Thursday , no times yesterday and not at all so far today?? So maybe seting it up as a new pod and then resetting it once cleared out whatever was causing the error? I guess we will see.
Pardon my ignorance but what manner of communication did you use to speak with iPod tech support?
