Wireless adapter lost after Windows 7 update - HP Pavillion DV6-6160sl

I did an upgrade of windows 7 and then suddenly the wireless adapter has disappeared.
The activation button does not work anymore and the adapter is no longer visible
in the list of PC devices.
Does anybody know how to reinstall this device, how to see the card again to the operating system?
Thanks to everyone.
Sorry for my google english
Marco from Florence, Italy

Thank you for your help.
I tried the procedure three times.
But no results.
I can not do find to the PC the wireless adapter.

After the automatic update for Windows I received the following error message in the Event viewer, telling me that Intel Bluethooth Wireless High Speed has to be reinstalled after the update.
How do I reinstall Intel Bluethooth Wireless High Speed on my notebook?
    Source: ApplicationExperienceInfrastructure

Yeah, I tried it exactly as described.
I use the Satellite U940-11X (PSU6SE) which has as network adapters the Realtek PCIe FE Family Controler and the Intel Centrino Wireless Adapter N 2230. The OS platform is Windows 8, 64bit.
I first uninstalled the existing Intel Bluetooth driver, then the Intel ProSet Wireless software.
I downloaded the newest software from Intel's website which is:
    - BT_2.6.1212_e64.exe, version 2.6.1212, 19-3-2013, for the Intel bluetooth software and
    - Wireless_15.6.1_e64.exe, version 15.6.1, 19-3-2013, for the Intel PROSet/Wireless Software and Drivers
I have installed both software packages correctly and did not receive any error messages.
The installation seems to be faultless.
However, the bluetooth switch in PC settings (wireless tab) remains gray.
I cannot switch it from off to on.
In the device manager the bluetooth button is listed under hidden devices.
    Where is the mistake?
Is it possible that my notebook requires specially modified drivers from the Toshiba website and/or additional drivers like to "bluetooth filter driver package" provided by Toshiba for my notebook model?
As to the bluetooth filter driver package it reads on the website that this driver is needed to enable bluetooth on your Atheros wlan-combo-card.
I am confused now because the notebook Satellite U940 11X (PSU6SE) doesn't have the Atheros card.
    Any advice for me?
    Thanks in advance

  • I want to backup my pinned tabs and my bookmarks as they have been lost several times after windows updates

several times after system crashes and sometimes after windows updates my pinned tabs have disappeared. How can I back up the pinned tabs and bookmarks??

Firefox stores the bookmarks and the browsing history in the places.sqlite database file..
There are 10 rotating daily JSON backups (bookmarks-####-##-##.json) in the bookmarkbackups folder within the Firefox profile folder, one for each day that Firefox is started.

Pinned (App) tabs and tab groups are stored in the sessionstore.js file.

  • Dell Latitude E6520 fails to boot after Windows Updates

    Hello,
I have a Dell Latitude E6520 that is not starting up after Windows updates. It installs updates and requests a reboot, after which it blue screens at the splash logo and reboots again. This goes on indefinitely. The only way to repair it is to boot from
    a recovery disk and run:
    dism /image:D:\ /cleanup-image /revertpendingactions
This is after running dism /image:D:\ /get-packages and noticing that several updates are still in an "Install_Pending" state. These are the kb's that are pending:

There were other updates, but those showed as installed. I would post the WindowsUpdate.Log, but I do not see a button to attach a file and the log is very long. Here is what I think is relevant towards the end of the log:

  • SP 2010 - Getting "An unexpected error has occurred. " message when accessing Sharepoint site after windows update - Windows 7 Home Premium

    Hi,
I am new to SP 2010. I have installed Share point 2010 server (trial version) on my Windows 7 Home Premium Laptop by following the below link.
    http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ee554869%28office.14%29.aspx
Everything went fine and was able to see the new sharepoint site after completing configuration wizard. SP2010 Central Admin also worked fine.
However, after windows update, sharepoint site is not working. I was able to see the site working for more than a day before windows update. SP2010 Central Admin is still working. Executed "PSCONFIG" after
    update but still no good.
I saw a warning "The Security Token Service is not available" in Central Admin and did some research to fix the issue but nothing worked.
    Hotfix
I believe I have all hotfixes mentioned in the forums. Here is the list.

I can see following log in Event Viewer when accessing site home page.
    Event ID:      8306
    Task Category: Claims Authentication
    Level:         Error
    Website response
http://localhost:32843/ - "HTTP Error 503. The service is unavailable."
    http://localhost:32843/Topology/Topology.svc - Works fine

    -> IIS -> Authentication).
HTTP Error 500.0 - Internal Server Error

I even tried to uninstall Sharepoint and re-install the same. It worked even second time until it went thro' windows update. App pools are running and Websites are up and running in IIS.
Can anyone please help me to fix this issue?
    Thanks

  • Windows Update Error 800B0109 after Windows Update Agent 7.6.7600.320 Installed

Hi, I have this error message when running windows update, it happened after Windows Update Agent 7.6.7600.320 installed.
Any idea how to resolve this?
    Thank you.

    Hi,
Please make sure that your antivirus application does not scan the files in the
%windir% \SoftwareDistribution directory on any computer on which Windows Update Agent is installed.
You can also temporarily turn off the antivirus application and check the result.
Or run the following commands, and press Enter after each command:
    Net stop wuauserv
    cd %systemroot%
    Ren SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
    Net start wuauserv
    Try to install updates again.

I tried the commands as well, still prompting the same error.
    Thanks

  • Profiles being reset after windows updates?

    Hi All
I'm having issues with Outlook 2013 SP1 resetting our users profiles after Windows Updates have been applied. Their profiles are being reset whilst their previous profiles are being renamed to "BACKUP of <profile name>".
Office 2013 x86 has been deployed via VL Media onto Win7 x64 machines and we are distributing the ImportPRF registry key via GPO (set to Update) in order to customise the profiles on first run. (basic email account and attaching a default PST file)
It appears that after windows updates are applied outlook is triggering the first run process again and therefore resetting the users profiles back to the standard set in our PRF.
We used this method to configure Outlook 2010 and for the years of deploying Office 2010 we never had any issues. Can anyone suggest what might be going on here or what might have changed in Office 2013?
    Thanks

I do not see much about coloum 14, but I am guessing this file is stored somewhere and its corrupt. Update.xul suggests that it is the update file. Do you still have this in your downloads folder? There are two places for update and for a clean reinstall:
[http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/new/] in a private window will give you a new install or you can choose from here: [https://www.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/all/]
This is what the file should look like; [http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/log/7a2edc5171e6/toolkit/mozapps/extensions/content/update.xul] If you can copy and paste that file from a working browser we can see the issue, but it will just look the same as the error.
if you can replace the contents of the file locally with what it should look like it will fix the error, but who knows if there are other errors. May be best to delete the updater and save all the profile folder contents.

  • Blue screen: HP Pavilion dv6 after Windows update on Aug 1.

Last year or so, I had this blue screen issue with my dv6 laptop and was solved by uninstalling KB2670838.And things have been very peaceful since then, but the blue screen re-occured recently after windows update last week. The updates were suggested by HP Support agent installed in and was for getting ready for Windows 10 installation. But my pc gets blue in every 3 min now, so I un-installed all updated job occured last week as temporal solution. Though I wish to be ready for Windows 10 installation, I need to have operable PC for my work.(This is Win7 sp1, home eddition) It would be great if anyone could assist me on this. Thank you, Piko.

tried .. every option on F8
Try this. Download a repair disc from here.
Windows Vista Recovery Environment ISO X64 version (64 bit)
If you can reach the Recovery Environment by booting that, try the Startup Repair and let us know what happens. Sometimes you need to run it more than once.

  • Unable to connect to Office Wireless Network (802.1x) after Windows Update

Hi, my notebooks are on Windows 7 Enterprise 64bit. We have only recently started Windows Updates.
We are on a Wireless network 802.1x.
In the past, we are able to do the following steps :
    1. Open the "connections are available" window by clicking on the wireless icon (signal bars with yellow sun)
    2. Right click on the desired network and choose properties
    3. Change settings (eg. MEAP or use local Windows credentials etc)
    4. Click connect to connect
Now, from the "connections are available" window, when we right click on the desired Network, only "connect" is shown.
In this case, I cannot connect to the network as the settings are wrong, if I cannot connect to the network how do I change the settings ?
    Please kindly advise

    Hi,
    I agree with britishdhez.
In addition, I would like to confirm which update caused this issue. Is it a driver update? I suggest installing driver update from the manufacturer's website.
You can also reinstall the wireless driver:
    a. Click Start, type "devmgmt.msc" (without quotation marks) in the Search bar and press Enter.
    b. Expand "Network adaptor".
    c. Right click on your network card and then click Uninstall
    d. Remove the driver software at the same time.
After that, restart the computer and reinstall the network card driver.
Meanwhile, you may run the Network troubleshooter to see if it can help diagnose and solve your problem:
Using the Network troubleshooter in Windows 7
    http://windows.microsoft.com/en-sg/windows7/using-the-network-troubleshooter-in-windows-7
Also, please remove the wireless network profile for a test.
    Delete a profile
    At the command prompt ( Win+ R-->CMD ), type:
    netsh wlan delete profile name="ProfileName"
For you reference: Netsh Commands for Wireless Local Area Network (wlan)

    Hope it helps.

  • Lost touch "scroll" after windows updates installed

after todays cumulative update for windows 10 was installed, i lost touch scroll/swipe functions.  listed in Windows update along with the cumulative patch was an item named "eGalaxtouch - other hardware-usb controller a802).seeing as there is no way to deselect it, it was installed with the cumullative patch.  however right after the install, touch scorlling and swiping are non functional. anyone else run into this?  any workaround/fixes for this issue??  i did a system restore to just before the update, which gave me back full functions.  But windows is again automatically downloading and installing both updates again!  there is no way to choose which updates to install, nor opt out of.does HP have an updated driver for touch???  when the windowsupdate installs that "egalaxytouch" update, the touchscreen is useless.  and with auto updating, it's a literal install/uninstall loop. i'm starting to regret upgrading to windows10.  and with that said, has anyone tried the "roll back to prior version" option in recovery?  it's valid for only 30days.  i am thinking of going back but am wondering if anyone was successful running that recovery before i try it myself.

No fix as far as i'm aware. my last post is just a workaround until the driver issue is sorted out.  It's not so much that you need a driver for this to work. You have to roll back the offending driver so that we can use the last good driver. And yes, i bbelieve that W10 will install updates as it pleases unless you have W10 Pro. W10 Pro can at least defer updates. I'm hoping that a fixed update comes soon so i don't have to defer them for too long. I miss the old 'Hide update' option from before.  But as i said, this is just a workaround so you can get your updates then roll back the driver.  As mentioned by another poster , this may help for just now. https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3073930 I haven't tried it myself.

  • No WiFi adapter found after windows 10 upgrade

Yesterday I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1 but after the upgradation the WiFi does not works. There was no WiFi adapter found and the same goes for Bluetooth. Please assist from where can these drivers be downloaded

I had no wireless after updating my Pavilion DM4 3002ea to Windows 10 Home 64bit. None of the solutions on here worked for me but I stumbled across the solution when I'd given up and decided to re-install Windows 7. I think the problem arises when you instal Windows 10 without the wireless adapter being switched on so ...  1. Set the BIOS to boot from CD/DVD first2. Boot from Windows installation DVD and once it loads to the installation screen I found I could switch the wireless adapter on.3. Once the wireless adapter is switched on remove the Windows installation DVD from the drive and boot as normal to Windows 10 and "hopefully" you will be able to switch off Flight mode and input your wireless network details

  • Thinkpad Twist 33474HU Wifi Unavailable After Windows Update

After a Windows update back in late October my wireless service stopped working indicating "The Windows wireless service is not running on this computer".  I rolled back to an pre update and wireless worked again.  A few days later Windows update ran once again and wireless stopped working.  I am not able to roll back to a time that wireless works anymore.  I am running Windows 8.1 and have tried the following:
    1) Uninstall Wireless driver and let auto install the latest driver
    2) Downloaded the latest wireless driver from the Lenovo website and installed
    3) Uninstalled the WLan hardware and let Windows recognize the hardware
    4) Tried to manually start the WLan autoconfig service but, it says
Windows could not start the WLAN autoconfig service on local computer.  Error 1068:  The dependency service or group failed to start.
I also tried starting the dependent services
    5) Uninstalled all Windows updates back to October 17 and tried wireless with no success.
Couldn't find any suggestions on the internet any more specific than the above, can anyone suggest something to help?  I am at the point of doing a clean install to get my wireless back.

    Hi duckgang,
    Welcome to the community.
Reinstalling your system is probably your best bet right now.
By experience I never install updates related to hardware from windows update, just install the important one not the optional (especially drivers).

  • Internet Connection doesn't work after windows update.

    Hi everyone,
my boyfriend recently updated his laptop.
After the update his computer wouldn't work anymore. I went on the web and read some topics on the forums. And even tried some of them already.
I don't have Norton or Mcfee security software.
    Operating system is Windows 7 and it's a 64-bitssystem.
I tried disabling ipv6 but that doesn't help. When i open the cmd and type ipconfig/all i get an overview of several adapters.
DHCP is enabled for everything but Tunnel-adapter for LAN-connection * 3: (sorry translating from dutch).
Also IP-routering and WINS-proxy are disabled.
Also i checked the recent updates. But for some reason the failing ones aren't amongst them.
Can someone pls help? Im wellknown with OS and can try to work with anything u name.
    Thanks in Advance!
    Nilu

Power off the router. Unplug it from the wall. Wait a while.
Plug it back to the wall. Power the router on. Wait until all the lights are lit properly. It will take a while.
    Restart the computer.
