Wireless and hard wired router giving me an error message, network cable unplugged
I have two Linksys routers, WRT54G and the BEFSR41. Have run the install disk on both, but once I link my CAT 5 Etehrnet cables to the router, I get the unplugged netwrok cable error. I have internet access through my cable modem directly to the PC, but once I run the connection through the router I get the error. Linksys help line was lost, as was my ISP help line. Tried assigning IP, physically unhooked and rehooked all the cables, etc., etc., I thought maybe I had a bad router with the hard wired, but wireless is same error. Any suggestions??
Try this setting:
1) Lower down the Ethernet card speed to 10Half Mbps .....
2) Use any other cable ...
3) if still you are getting same error ..... reset the router for few seconds .....
See if it works ....

I have a Linksysy wireless WRT54G ROUTER that is connected to a Dell PC desktop and a Toshiba laptop. I got everything hooked up just fine and everything worked great for 2 months and then 2 days ago I started getting an error messgae saying that a "network cable was unplugged and the wireless connection was lost." I can no longer get Internet connections or connect to Outlook. Anyone know why this would happen and MORE IMPORTANTLY, how to fix this?? The connection to the Dell still works interestingly and the "link" indicator on the cable modem is blinking on and off. Please help!
well the first thing that you should do, if you have not done this already is check the network cable on the computer with the issue and make sure that it is snapped in securely. If it is try to connect again. If at this time it still states that a network cable is unplugged, try another cable and see what that does for you. please get back to us and let us know if it still states that the network cable is unpluged.

Try these 3 possible solutions:
1. Restart iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears. Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPad. To turn iPad back on, hold down the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.
2. Close inactive Apps
Double-click the Home button; hold Apps down (in the Task Bar) for a second or two until you see the minus sign. Tap and close all inactive Apps.
3. Reset iPad
Hold down the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears. Ignore the red slider. -

Setup Help for 2 Wireless and 1 Wired Router!

I hope this is the appropriate forum for this request. I am helping a neighbor who has just come out of the hospital. Since he will be homebound for quite sometime, he needs to enhance his home network. I offered my help and now I am looking for some assistance. :-)
Currently he has DSL which goes from his DSL modem into Linksys WRTG54G v2 router in a basement. The wireless signal does not travel very far. Fortunately there are 3 ethernet jacks that are present. Two of those jacks run to an office on the first floor, the third runs to the office on the second floor.
Additional equipment we have are a Linksys BEFSR41 v2 wired router and another WRTG54G v6 wireless router. On the 1st floor there are 3 devices which need to be connected (a PC, a Mac and an HP printer) and the second floor is where he will be roaming with the laptop.
Given this, my guess the best setup would be:
Basement the wired router running to the three ethernet ports (2 on the first floor, the third on the second floor).
On the First floor, use on of the ethernet extensions to connect the wireless router. Then from the router ports, connect to the 3 devices (PC, Mac, HP printer) via ethernet. This will also send out a wireless signal if a wireless device (laptop) in the vicinity.
Then on the second floor, plug the other wireless router into the ethernet port and have it emit the wireless signal.
I should note that the second floor is really the only floor which is essential to have the wireless signal
So my questions are this:
1a)Could the above scenario actually work?
1b)Is there are a better setup then what I thought
2a)I imagine that I will need to change the IP for two of the devices from 192.168.1.1 to something like 192.168.2.1 and 192.168.3.1, correct?
2b)In addition I will need to disable DHCP on 2 of the 3 routers, but which one? I imagine that one on the second floor?
3) What else do I need to do?

BEFSR41 in the basement......if you are configuring the wireless router on the first floor for an ethernet to ethernet connection , the ip add on it should be 192.168.1.2 and disable the dhcp....if you go for an ethernet to internet connection then the ip address of the wireless router should be 192.168.2.1....no need to disable the dhcp....
similarly configure the wireless router on the 2nd floor...if an ethernet to ethernet connection then ip add - 192.168.1.3 and dhcp is disabled....and if ethernet to internet connection , then ip add 192.168.3.1....
make the wireless settings unique for each router and so that ensure whether you are connecting to the 1st router or the 2nd router..... -
Combine wireless and hard-wired internet?
I currently use a cable modem, connected to my iMac via ethernet. I'm considering buying a new laptop, which I'd like to have wireless internet capability. I'd rather not "convert" the iMac to wireless. If I buy an Airport Express and connect it to the cable modem via USB, will that allow the laptop to have wireless access when I need it, but not screw up the iMac's hard-wired access?
FYI, I don't anticipate a need to create a wireless network between the two Macs, I'm just interested in each having internet access.Hi, that looks like the wrong one, only one Ethernet port for the Modem as far as I can see...

My computer keeps giving me an error message "non systne disk or disk error replace and strike any key when ready" It is a HP elite notebook. WHen I strike any key it looks as though it is running scripts and return to the above error. Is there a way to reset the computer to a point in time when it function normally?
My suggestion is to start unit and press F10 to get into BIOS. Navigate to Diagnostics and select Hard Disk Self Test. This will test your Hard Drive for errors and failure. If the hard drive does not pass both tests, you will need to replace the hard drive and obtain recovery disks.

My iPod touch 4th gen. Keeps giving me the error message "cannot connect to the app store when I sign in. I can open the app store and browse it but I can't download anything. I have full signal strength with my wi-fi and safari is working perfect. I turned it off and restarted it 3 times now. I have an iPad 2 and the app store works flawlessly with it. What is going on?
Same here on my lpad2. Can access the web just fine from browsers but cannot install new apps or updates in appl store. Seeing a few others reporting same issue tonight so likely an apple server issue and staff will notice it in network monitors and fix it...sometime this weekend.

There are 9 different versions of iPhoto and they run on seven different versions of the Operating System. The tricks and tips for dealing with issues vary from version to version and OS to OS. So before anyone can help, they need information to work with. Basic stuff:
- What version of iPhoto.
- What version of the Operating System.
- Details. What were you doing when the problem arose?
- Did it ever work properly?
- Are there error messages?
- What steps have you tried already to solve the issue.
Anything else you can think of that might allow someone else to understand your issue.
With this kind of information somebody can develop a starting point for troubleshooting the issue.

I am trying to re-install Creative Suite 5.5 Design Standard on my Widows 7 Professional computer after I had to replace the hard drive. why does iTunes keep giving me bogus error messages. "Your internet connection is not working, check your connection and try again." My internet is working fine. iTunes is not working and will not allow me to download tunes.

I really need HELP!!!....I'm trying to shut down my computer and i have icloud open in system preferences and it's giving me an error message frostycup=1 which won't let me shut down my computer (it doesn't allow it) Is this a virus? and can I deal with it or should I bring it in to apple??!?!
You might try force quitting system preferences. Press Option Command Escape, click on System Preferences in the pop-up, then click Force Quit. Then restart your Mac and see if the problem occurs again. If not, I wouldn't worry about it. I've only heard of this in relation to the iTunes store; it might be a glitch and you'll never see it again.

Does anybody know if you uninstall iTunes (mine is giving me an error message) and then re-install, will my music still be there (somewhere?) I don't have it saved to the cloud, but it is on my iPad I recently upgraded my iTunes account and now I can't open it. I get an error message and it says I need to re-install.
Go to Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs (Win XP) or Programs and Features (later)
Remove all of these items in the following order:
iTunes
Apple Software Update
Apple Mobile Device Support (if this won't uninstall move on to the next item)
Bonjour
Apple Application Support
Reboot, download iTunes, then reinstall, either using an account with administrative rights, or right-clicking the downloaded installer and selecting Run as Administrator.
The uninstall and reinstall process will preserve your iTunes library and settings, but ideally you would back up the library and your other important personal documents and data on a regular basis. See this user tip for a suggested technique.
