Wireless Bridge that doesn't require coax from injector

Does Cisco have a 5.8 Ghz wireless bridge available that does not require 2 separate strands of Coax between the power injector and the Bridge? I have been looking at the 1400 Bridges but using coax would mean I would have to run about 200 feet of coax x2 from the top of my tower all the way to my wiring closet rather than a simple single outdoor rated cat6 line. Does anyone have any thoughts on this. I need this to be in the unlicensed 5 ghz band and support WPA2.

If you plan it correctly, you can mount your 1400 indoors and run the antenna cable outside and up the tower. This shouldn't be done for long links, and it will drop your signal strength at the antenna.
Other than that, Cisco does not have such a bridge. Your only option would be to mount a 1242 in a NEMA-enclosure on top of the tower.
Keep in mind that Cisco and other cable makers have a dual-strand coax, so it's still one cable you're running.

    I have 2 wireless G computers that I want to network.  My internet is a usb modem to verizon wireless.  What equipment do I need to connect them?  The last wireless modem I bought required DSL or Cable.  What models don't?  Thanks

    Use your windows network wizard to set up a Peer to Peer network between your computers. One computer will have direct access to the net via the USB modem the other one will have access via the first one.

    I need a portable external hard drive to back it up before updating the software to Yosemite but I can't find anything that doesn't require you to be running at least OX 10.6.  Is there a suitable hard drive?  I'm not very technical and wouldn't know how to do any formatting so I want it to be very basic so that I can just plug it in.  500GB should be more than adequate.

    Correct.  When you purchase devices, they would have stated the OS they needed to work, on the box.  This can be overlooked, but it is very important to check when purchasing.
    You current OS, is so old, that they technology build into the new devices, is not something your OS understands.  It didn't exist when your OS was created, and therefore you need to upgrade the OS to work with the newer technology of these devices.
    10.6 software is not downloadable.  You must purchase a DVD disc.  You can order it from the on-line apple store

    Is there a (relatively simple) way to skip tracks with an iPod touch 5th gen using a physical button? I'm aware songs can be skipped on-screen without unlocking the iPod, but I'm looking for a method that doesn't require taking my eyes off the road while driving. For that reason, I'm also not interested in adding in headphones or additional devices that have the desired button functions. Going both forward and back would be great but I would be pleased just to have a "sight-free" way to go forward.
    I've seen some mention here and there about ways to maybe change it so the volume buttons change tracks and holding the volume buttons changes the volume... but I don't know what's involved in that or if its even possible/recommended for a new 5th gen iPod. I think its a great device but its sadly lacking in music oriented functions and features... which is disappointing since music is why most people would bother getting one instead of some other "iDevice" :/

    Given that you cannot do what you have asked for, perhaps you simply need to find another solution to your root problem.
    Presumably, you want to skip to the next track because you don't want to hear the current one, and that is because...
    You don't like it.
    You've heard it recently and don't want to hear it now.
    Simply don't want to hear it at this time.
    For problem number 1. Don't put it on the iPod in the first place. (I know, obvious answer!)
    For problem number 2. How about playing from a Smart Playlist (initially created in your iTunes Library) which has only songs you've not played recently?
    For problem number 3. Hhhmmm! Create alternative Playlists for use in the car.
    As for going back to the start of the "now playing" track.... Well, if your Playlist has only songs that you really, really want to hear, then you'll be looking forward to that rather go back to the beginning of the current song.
    I'm not trying to be prescriptive, just giving you food for thought.
    (They are all cheaper options than buying a car which can control the iPod from the steering wheel.)

  • Where is the Mac downloadable version of Adobe Acrobat 7 Pro that doesn't require activation

    I purchased Adobe Creative Suite 2 Premium, it cost more than €2,000. When I recently tried to re-install it due to having to reformat my hard drive I could no longer activate it over the phone or online.
    When I rang the help number it directed me to the downloadable versions that don't require activation. Great! UNTIL I realise Adobe Acrobat 7 Professional is only available for Windows as a download.
    Where is the download for the Mac Version as it not included in the bundle either. This is extremely urgent. Thank you in advance.

    To maswatson
    The answer to your question of March 12, 2015 – "Where is the Mac downloadable version of Adobe Acrobat 7 Pro that doesn't require activation[?]" – is … nowhere. That doesn't mean it's not available to you, however. I have successfully installed several CS2 programs and Acrobat 7, on two computers.
    The hard drive on my MacBook Air crashed recently. After a new drive was installed I had to reload various programs, including CS2 Premium. I used the original disks and the serial number on the package.
    When I tried to open InDesign, however, I got an "Activate Using the Internet" message which led to an "Activation Server Unavailable" message that gave me three options, the last of which was "Click the Phone Activation button to activate the product over the phone." I called the toll-fee number and heard the following recorded message: "We no longer support activation issues over the phone."
    So I searched the Web, figuring that others had encountered and solved this problem. Eventually, I found "Creative Suite Help / Download Acrobat 7 and OS2 Products" at https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs2-product-downloads.html#.
    I also found "How to Fix Adobe’s “Licensing for this product has stopped working” Error by Aaron Nelsen at http://hijinksinc.com/2010/01/20/how-to-fix-adobes-licensing-for-this-product-has-stopped- working-error/. He writes "… you MUST delete adobe_00080000_tsf.data and adobe_00080000_event.log" which is found in /Library/Preferences/FLEXnet Publisher/FLEXnet. So I did that.
    I also deleted Illustrator CS2, InDesign CS2, and Photoshop CS2 from my Applications folder. I did not delete Acrobat 7 or GoLive.
    After clicking on "English" at https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs2-product-downloads.html#, I downloaded Illustrator CS2 for Mac, InDesign CS2 for Mac, and Photoshop CS2 for Mac. I was not able to download Acrobat 7 because the only option is for Windows. As you know, there is no download for Mac.
    Illustrator CS2, InDesign CS2, and Photoshop CS2 all opened without any problems. When I tried to open GoLive, I got the same "Activate Using the Internet" message I got at the outset, when I tried to open InDesign. I proceeded, and now have a 30-day trial. The same limitation has been placed on Illustrator, InDesign, and Photoshop, because I downloaded them, whereas GoLive was installed from the CS2 disks.
    Next, I opened Acrobat 7.0 Professional – the one installed from the original CS2 disks. It works fine.
    BOTTOM LINE: If you want Acrobat 7.0 Professional, install Creative Suite using original CS2 disks, then delete the other CS2 programs from those disks. If you want Illustrator CS2, InDesign CS2, Photoshop CS2, and others, download them from https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs2-product-downloads.html#.
    I am hoping this explanation will help you. I feel great sympathy for you because the "answers" you received have been obtuse and clearly less than helpful. (I requested a "Yes," "No," or "Don't know" answer to a very straightforward question, but didn't get it.)
    My experience tells me that the answer to your question "Where is the Mac downloadable version of Adobe Acrobat 7 Pro that doesn't require activation[?]" – is … nowhere, but you don't need to download it. It's on the original disks and it does not require activation. That's why Adobe did not included it with the Windows version at https://helpx.adobe.com/creative-suite/kb/cs2-product-downloads.html#.
    I hope this answers your question, solves your problem, and ends your frustration.

  • Stream iTunes Library to iPhone4 that doesn't require OS 10.5?

    Greetings,
    Is there a service that will stream music from my iTunes library on my old G5 Mac to my iPhone that DOESN'T require OS 10.5? (My Mac uses 10.4.10, and I really don't want to upgrade.) I used to use SimplifyMedia, but now Google has bought them, so I can't reinstall the app on my iPhone4.
    Both AudioGalaxy and Zumo require 10.5. Anybody have any ideas? Thanks!

  • Trying to nstall Photoshop CS2 on a new PC with Windows 8.1? Adobe uploaded me a version that doesn't require activation, but it doesn't work!

    Trying to Install Photoshop CS2, which I bought several years ago, on a new computer with Windows 8.1? Adobe uploaded me a version that it says doesn't require activation, but it doesn't work!

    Your advice to use the serial number provided by Adobe is right on point.
    The only thing special I've done that's not typical is that I have UAC disabled, which does serve to make a system more compatible with older software (and with old geeks like me who prefer to be full-time admins).
    When I installed Photoshop CS2, it just went in and worked.  I didn't think twice about it.

  • Currency spinner that doesn't require currency symbol?

    I have a subclass of JSpinner that provides methods for formatting the spinner various ways...this helps ensure I do it a consistent way...rather than having formatting code scattered all over my app.
    Anyhow, I've got one small problem with my currency format. It's local-sensitive, but it requires the user to enter the currency symbol.
    So, the following are valid entries:
    $25.00
    $25.0
    $25
    But the following are not:
    25.00
    25.0
    25
    Anyone have a spinner that doesn't care if the user supplies the currency symbol when editing the field directly?
    Here's the code I've added to my extension of JSpinner:
    public void setCurrencyFormat() {
        NumberFormat ci = NumberFormat.getCurrencyInstance();
        DecimalFormat di = (DecimalFormat) ci;
        JSpinner.NumberEditor editor = new JSpinner.NumberEditor((JSpinner) this, di.toPattern());
        this.setEditor(editor);
    }

    Okay, found this somewhere and plugged it into my spinner. Works like a charm. I did change the return so that it always returned a double...
    public static class CurrencyEditor extends DefaultEditor {
              public static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;
              public CurrencyEditor(JSpinner spinner) {
                   super(spinner);
                   final JFormattedTextField ftf = getTextField();
                   ftf.setEditable(true);
                   ftf.setFormatterFactory(new DefaultFormatterFactory(
                             new CurrencyFormatter()));
                   ftf.setHorizontalAlignment(SwingConstants.RIGHT);
              private class CurrencyFormatter extends
                        JFormattedTextField.AbstractFormatter {
                   public static final long serialVersionUID = 1L;
                   public String valueToString(Object object) {
                        if (object == null) {
                             return "";
                        NumberFormat curFormat = NumberFormat.getCurrencyInstance();
                        return curFormat.format(object);
                   public Object stringToValue(String string) throws ParseException {
                        if (string == null || string.trim().length() == 0) {
                             return null;
                        Number number = null;
                        NumberFormat curFormat = NumberFormat.getCurrencyInstance();
                        NumberFormat numFormat = NumberFormat.getNumberInstance();
                        try {
                             number = curFormat.parse(string);
                        } catch (ParseException ex) {
                             try {
                                  number = numFormat.parse(string);
                             } catch (ParseException ex2) {
                                  throw ex2;
                        return number.doubleValue();

  • BEST COMPRESSION TYPE THAT DOESN'T REQUIRE QT 7?

    Hi,
    I'm trying to find the best Compression Type for Quicktime export - my aim being to get good picture/low file size.
    H.264 seems brilliant for this but as Tom Wolsky has pointed out it needs Quicktime 7, the very latest Quicktime, to be viewed.
    I've tried Sorenson Video 3 but can anyone recommend a Compression Type that's as good as H.264 and doesn't need the latest Quicktime?
    Many thanks,
    Mark

    In my opinion, MPEG-4 is one of the best codecs in the QT suite. It was released several years ago, so compatibility is pretty high, but the quality is second only to H.264. Also, it's quite efficient; it encodes much faster than Sorenson 3, and it plays back very well on older computers. The latest version of QuickTime for pre-OS X computers included the codec, so you can be sure that it will work on older systems as well. The filesize and quality are not quite as good as H.264, but if you're looking for better compatibility, MPEG-4 is definitely the way to go.

  • Code that doesn't require maintenance

    We have several tables and want to code ABAP, so that data would be written and updated to the correct table accordingly. Later on, there would be requirements to add more tables and data would be updated accordingly. The requirement is to code it so that it wouldn't need to be modified every time a new table is added. The table is named by the year, so there would be table 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, etc. So when table 2013 is added, there shouldn't be a requirement to modify or change the code. Essentially the requirement is not to hard code the year. Is this possible to do?

    The way we handle this (for many custom tables that we have for bolt-on applications) is via a small customer-written program to supply the tablename and call FM VIEW_MAINTENANCE_CALL .  Our tables have generated table maintenance modules, so we can simply update this way.  In our case, we have radiobuttons for display or update on the selection screen for our simple utility program that sets the table name, the display or view (action).  For a limited number of tables we call the FM with SHOW_SELECTION_POPUP = 'X'.  You can, of course, add authorization checks if needed for whomever is allowed to update, whether for single or multiple tables, etc.

  • How do I get rid of a computer that doesn't exist anymore from my iTunes account? The old computer has been recycled with my iTunes acoount on my current desktop. I neglected to remove iTunes prior to being recycled.

    I'm continuing to have major issues getting iTunes to recognized my son's iPod Touch. It was last sync'd to the old computer more than a year ago. I've backed up and updated all iTunes material; Uninstalled iTunes and reinstalled; confirmed other iPods will connect. The only issue I'm having is with my son's Touch.

    If you're referring to authorization, you cannot deauthorize a computer to which you no longer have access. Unless you've reached the limit of five authorizations, that shouldn't be a problem. If you have  reached five authorizations for that account, there will be a button in your iTunes Store account information that will allow you to deauthorize all systems associated with that account. Log into your Store account and you should see it. You can then reauthorize the computers you're using now.
    I'm not sure what this would have to do with an issue with an iPod touch, though. Can you please explain that issue in more detail?
    Regards.
